The place was very nice and service was excellent. My wife had the jerk chicken and loved it. I had the sliced sirloin strip and I would say it's OK, not great. What an absolute gem this restaurant is. Surely, as they hire more staff and expand their menu, they will only get better too (although I can't fathom how the food could improve). Every item on the menu looked delicious- I had the charcuterie board and the pork chop. Each component of every dish was thoughtfully executed, and the flavors were phenomenal. Our server was top notch- she knew the menu inside and our, and was very willing to answer questions and help guide our choices. I want to go back ASAP. read more

My husband had read about this new restaurant opening in The Mountaineer, so we were excited to try it when we would next be in town. Wow! No need to drive to Asheville anymore for fine dining as the chef-owner, Josh Weeks, hails from one of AVL's stalwarts, Corner Kitchen. We ended up eating here twice during a week's stay--once for lunch and then back for dinner. It was that good! For a restaurant that had just opened, there were none of the usual new restaurant difficulties one would expect. Both visits, we were able to be promptly seated. Don't expect that to be the case a month from now. Word is out. Service was prompt, sincere, and informative. With farm-to-table restaurants that have smaller menus, I sometimes have the problem of not seeing anything I'm dying to eat. The opposite was true here--I wanted to eat every entree. For lunch, I had the catfish sandwich, a perfectly crusted piece of fish accompanied by a delicious sauce. My husband had a roast beef sandwich that he greatly enjoyed. I washed my sandwich down with a tasty spicy margarita. When we returned for dinner, we had the cheeseboard, which I didn't really want (calories) but ended up devouring. For dinner, I had the steak, which was perfectly seared and accompanied by sweet potato puree and green beans. My husband had the shrimp and grit variation. read more

We stumbled into this place during their first ever service and were beyond impressed. It's so beautiful inside and the service was wonderful. Our food was some of the best we've had in the area, and it was only lunch time. The price was excellent as well, I'm thinking they must be keeping prices low as they start out. We even bought a gift certificate for our friends and they said they also really enjoyed it. It's great to have modern, quality food available and we love seeing the food scene grow. read more

Fantastic new restaurant in Waynesville! This town is so blessed to have such amazing dining options. Service was fantastic! Food is fresh and creative and just delicious. I had the tail fish and it was out of this world. My husband had the shrimp appetizer and a salad and loved both. We also shared the blue crab fritters as an app and they were filled with crab and crispy and delicious. Wine selection is nice. We were especially impressed with how well everything was running open only three weeks ago. Hoping they put some blinds or something on the windows for a better evening ambiance...but overall definitely deserving of a 5 star rating and we will be back!! read more

Oh my! What a beautiful lunch at Singletree! The flavors were outstanding and the presentation was just beautiful. Started with the Cauliflower soup - to die for! The Brasstown Melt was so tender and tasty. The quinoa and black bean side was the perfect accompaniment. We couldn't pass up the chocolate and cherry desserts - and of course they were delectable. With reservations, Singletree was able to accommodate our group of twelve during the holidays. Service was excellent. Prices were fair. The restaurant is fashionable but not stuffy. I would feel comfortable in any clean, non-distressed attire from jeans and a collared shirt to a suit. Our group ordered just about one of everything, and I heard nothing but compliments from the table. We had desserts, coffee, after- dinner cocktails. Everything one would expect from a nice restaurant. No one leapt from their chairs exclaiming that theirs was the best morsel they'd ever tasted, but other than that, I don't think there's anything I would change or wouldn't recommend. read more

I have been here many times to dine since they opened. I have found the quality of dishes to be extremely inconsistent; sometimes excellent. Sometimes mediocre, sometimes made with downright rancid ingredients or way overstalted and/or over peppered which renders food inedible. When I'm going to a restaurant that is very expensive like this, which I would normally consider to be casual fine dining....I have come to expect a much higher quality of food and consistency. My wife stopped in with our dog, we weren't sure if they had outside seating. A young lady came out to offer our dog a bowl of water and told us how to get to their patio. Located in the downtown area on Depot street, Singletree is Chef Josh's culinary oasis and you don't want to miss it. Inside and out it's spacious and lovely. There is parking, and as soon as you've stepped out of your car you feel everything else fall away. Once inside you are greeted by charming, friendly people. There is a bar if you need refreshment before being seated. The cuisine is excellent and on a fine dining level. Each dish we ordered you could tell was carefully prepared just for us. The salads were amazing and the crab fritters were the best I've ever had with three different sauces that lingered on the tongue. The pasta primavera was homemade and fresh as could be. The pan-seared branzino was absolutely superb with accompanying olive tapenade, an array of cucumber, red onion and tomato, and a mountain of delicious crispy-creamy fingerling potatoes. We chose to share the chocolate flourless torte for dessert and as chocolate lovers we were not disappointed. Our server was the best! Everything seemed gear to our enjoyment. Well done! The food was amazing! It is great to see Waynesville finally getting some top restaurants with high-quality food. This was our favorite to date but Birchwood is a very close second. The interior was elegant and matched the vibe of the restaurant. After reading the wonderful reviews online, I chose Singletree Heritage for my husband's surprise birthday dinner. That is one of the best decisions I've ever made! The dining room is lovely, our wait staff (Amanda) was perfect and the food was absolutely amazing! Everyone at our table raved over their dishes. All of them are from large cities and stated that their meals were some of the best they've eaten. Decided to try this restaurant based on others' reviews. We were not disappointed with the quality and presentation of the food. Cream of Basil Zucchini soup is DELICIOUS. The restaurant is not offering desserts yet, but I am sure when they do they will be noteworthy. Very personable, helpful staff and WIFI password available to patrons. The one thing we did not enjoy are the dining room acoustics. Conversations when dining are very difficult due to lack of sound absorbing materials in room, but I recommend the food and nice decor. read more

Appears to be short staffed in every aspect. Fries were cold, sandwich was luke warm and the portions were incredibly small. No one checked in on us after the meal was served until we were finished. We have been twice, first on 7/26 and then on 8/9, and I'm sure we will go more times before we leave at the end of September. All the food is sophisticated, beautifully plated, and tastes wonderful. The restaurant is low key and all that work there are friendly and obliging. Our first server was Elna and the second Patti, both totally competent, efficient, and knowledgeable about the food and wine as well as friendly. Both nights were middle of the week and the place was full, so probably best to make a reservation...seems like Singletree has finally been discovered! They do take walk-ins but don't be disappointed if they can't fit you in. They also serve lunch, the menu for which looks great. read more

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining for dinner at your restaurant on 8/9/22. Our cocktails were refreshing and yummy. Great wine list. The salad tasted fresh and crispy. The Crab cake fritters with the remoulade like dipping sauce were superb. I ordered the Sunburst trout entree and it was delicious. My husband ordered the heritage pork chop entree which was over cooked, dry and chewy. His meal was disappointing for the price. The hostess and dining room staff were friendly and attentive. The dining room was extremely loud so it made it difficult to converse with each other. While waiting for our food I noticed that the tables by the windows were full of sun. Maybe a half curtain on those windows would provide shade while still keeping the view of the mountains. We consider ourselves local foodies. We wish this new restaurant much success. read more

What a welcome experience to Waynesville for finer dining and farm to table restaurant presentation. After reading about the story of this restaurant, my wife and I decided to come in and sample what is still a start up and soft opening. Clearly a few more servers would help with wait times on drinks and ordering, but it also has to make financial sense, so we get that. The food quality when it arrived was outstanding, including the visual plating and physical taste of the meal. She had the Tile Fish and I had the Strip which was done perfectly and the marriage of sweet potatoes, green beans, and a blackberry glaze just left me giggling. Our server, Ephraim, was so friendly and polite. The wine list is more than adequate, and we can't wait to return to try the desserts when they make it to the menu. I wish Josh and McRae all the best in this new venture, and we will do our best to support them. read more
