Totally one of a kind. If you are looking for a pizza that emulates NY or Chicago this is not it... BUT if you are looking for a unique pizza that is a thing all its own, this is a pie of charm... I'm not usually a works pie kind of guy, but my friend loves theirs so I was in for the works... I think the pix say it all... If anything, next time I will ask for it well done as it could have had more crisp to it - but I am going 5 stars as it's so original that it stands on its own and the ingredients definitely were solid on the fresh scale. 3.5 stars. The wife and I came here when we first moved to Mt Juliet back about 10 years ago. Having both been MTSU students and having met in Murfreesboro, we were both more than familiar with the original Sir Pizza on Main St. Been many times and love it always. Unfortunately, neither of us liked our pizza and we hadn't been again since. 10 years... If you are familiar with the original Boro location, then you know this (Old Hickory/Hermitage) spot is just a little bit off. We recently went back to the one in the Boro a few weeks ago and loved it so much we figured we'd give this location (literally a mile from our house) a try again. Fortunately or unfortunately (depending on how you see it), our pie was admittedly better than our first outing 10 years prior. BUT... having had the OG in the Boro so recently, we could tell a huge difference in the taste. For starters, the Boro's crust is nice and thin, quite crispy, and has a great 'munch' and crackle to the mouthfeel. The Old Hickory location has a very much thicker dough base that when cooked, turns out rather fluffy (despite still being a relatively thin crust... go figure), and when we bit into the center pieces of ours, some of the dough felt a little undercooked. The cheese and toppings are the same as the Boro, small minced meats and tiny pepperonis, just like it has always been. No issue there. The final and (in my opinion) worst offender of the slightly better, but still off, pie we had was the sauce. In comparison again to the OG Boro spot, Old Hickory's sauce was SUPER sweet. It tasted to me like whoever makes their particular batch of marinara adds WAY too much sugar to the recipe. Pizza sauce/marinara should not be sweet IMHO. I also echo the comments from another reviewer. We got a side of meatballs (don't do this), and it came with a little cup of marinara for dipping. It was, in fact, super chunky. I get that some people like this, but I've never cared for large chunks of tomatoes in my sauce. Just like the pizza sauce, their marinara, even with the chunks, was VERY sweet and quite off-putting to add to the meatballs to give them any semblance of flavor since the meatballs themselves were clearly just reheated, frozen, very small meatballs. Overall, the place made the pie quick, it was hot and fresh, and we had no complaints with the staff or customer service. Unfortunately, despite a better experience than a decade ago, we still didn't like this location's food and, since that's the only reason to go to a restaurant, we will just continue to frequent the OG Boro location when we're hanker'in for some Sir. read more

We've eaten sir pizza a lot but always carry out. This was our first dine in experience. We loved it!! The new owners were very nice. The restaurant was very clean and the food awesome as always. There were a couple of pick up customers who were rude to the owner about online issues and another was rude picking up his order. The owner handled it perfectly. I felt bad. They work hard and the food is great. People need to be nice. Hope they do well. We'll definitely be back!! read more

I've been meaning to try this local place for quite some time. Finally went for it and found it to be average. The marinara sauce was very chunky, was weird to try to dip the cheese-sticks into. There were an excessive amount of onions on one of the pizzas and the pizzas were fairly greasy. The bacon cheeseburger was decent, we added black olives. With all the pizza places in the area, it won't be at the top of my list. read more

I love the sauce, sausage and pepperoni that they use. It's the flavor of them all coming together that works for them. I have been eating at Sir Pizza for 40 years. The Hermitage location is my favorite. They use a conveyor oven instead of the old Blodgett ovens like some of the other Sir Pizza locations use. One Friday night while I was in the area for the weekend with my girlfriend. I had gotten the idea to try this Sir Pizza as the last one I had been to was back in the early 2000's in NC. Upon walking in the place itself was nice, it could use a refresh for the walls and decor. We had sat down and ordered some apps which I had gotten the Cheese sticks which were really good but oily too. The pizza I got was a small with extra cheese and extra sauce. The pizza came out looking like it was in the oven too long and the taste of the cheese and sauce and the crunchiness made me want to think I was eating a Totinos frozen pizza..No joke.. 2nd time trying this place. Pizza is good but..., Called on Mother's Day at 5 pm for takeout order. The girl who answered and took my order and kept trying to repeat it back to me. I had to repeat one of my pizzas no less than 10 times and surprise surprise when we got there it was wrong. There was nothing they were willing to do except for remake it and we would have to wait 40 minutes. Not to mention she said it would be 15 to 20 minutes and it was closer to 40. Sir Pizza is known as Pizza King in the Midwest and is the pizza I grew up on when visiting my grandparents' farm. It's very different in subtle ways to the pizza most folks know from other chains. --Their ingredients are all chopped finely. No slabs of green pepper, no round pepperoni, no crescents of onion. --They use provolone cheese instead of mozzarella. --The pizza is covered by ingredients. No "crust handle". All the slices are rectangular except for the four triangles at the corner. I've seen several people compare this to Totino's. I think the chopped ingredients (as far as I recall Totinos is the only frozen pizza to do this) is what lends them to make this comparison. Because that is the only similarity. A Sir Pizza/Pizza King pie is full of pizza flavour in every bite. The ingredients and assembly work together to make sure that each bite is PIZZA. None of this chomping down on a fistful of sausage or a "fresh" mushroom wilted by the heat. The smoky provolone compliments the toppings without overpowering them. The thin crust is a delicious foundation without the overpowering yeasty tang you get from Papa John's or the greasy and often unevenly-baked Pizza Hut offerings. I admit im biased because I have eaten this style of pizza for more than 40 years. But then again...any pizza you love eating after 40 years is obviously a good pizza. This restaurant and its owner have been a staple in my raising and adulthood! I've had many conversations with my father and the owner that have helped shape the direction of my life. Sir Pizza is a great pizza restaurant! From dough that can be light and fluffy to perfectly distributed toppings, the pizza is simply the best! If you get the buffet, you'll also have access to the salad bar, spaghetti and garlic toast! There pizza is the best in the area. I know plenty are not happy with the prices. I suggest if you like there pizza and a good discount. Make Tuesday your family's pizza night. There special starts at 5:30 and you just call in your order and pick it up on your way home. I give it one star, only because I cannot select negative stars. First off, the pizza. This is bottom grade, cheapest low quality pizza you can find anywhere. Middle school cafeteria pizza is an upgrade. Totino's frozen pizza is an upgrade. The only thing the "cook" at this place does is open a can. Now it is time for the airing of grievances. 1. None of the ingredients are fresh, none of them are high quality. 2. Styrofoam plates (seriously guys, this saves you no money) 3. All salad bar items were strait from a can and some not even strained 4. Decor is lowsy, chairs are falling apart 5. Place has a layer of film that makes you feel icky after you leave. 6. Staff has a "whatever" attitude. 7. artificial bacon bits are not bacon It was so bad that I didn't even bother to do anything but eat a little bit of pizza, pay the like $9.50 (way too high for this kind of place) and leave as fast as I came in. Pizza is really good, but it is definitely a budget buffet. Flimsy styrofoam plates (the $1 kind from Dollar store), so don't plan to really pile the pizza on to your plate. There were gnats flying around in our booth area, which were a bit annoying. Staff is friendly though and although it took awhile to get fresh pizza on the buffet, it was really good. read more

I love the pizza! Much better than the cheaper local options of CiCi's or Little Ceasar. The restaurant is in dire need of a remodel. It's dark, a little dirty, and very dated. The owner doesn't seem to understand customer service at all as his green Mercedes is frequently parked right in front of the door and at an angle to ensure that none of his customers park too close to it. I don't think that he gives the staff any customer service training either but luckily the two girls who are usually staffing the restaurant during lunch do a good job. They remember their regulars even down to our drink orders and where we like to sit. They are a pleasure to deal with. I once ordered a large pizza for pick up and, though it was good, couldn't believe the price. It ended up being over $15 for one large pizza. That's the last time I ordered a pizza from Sir Pizza. Now I only go for the lunch buffet which comes out to a much more reasonable amount of around $8.00. I understand that they have a dinner buffet one or two nights per week but I haven't tried it nor know the cost. In the end, it all comes down to the pizza and the pizza is very good. I wish the whole pies were priced more competitively, and the dining room was clean, modern, and bright, but the buffet is a good value and will keep me coming back. read more

Best Pizza? Ummm No, just no. Pizza tastes and looks like worse than a frozen Pizza. We ordered ground beef and mushroom. Opened the box and my wife said "stop screwing around and give me the pizza". Crust tastes like cardboard and the whole Pizza tastes like it's been in a box. We also ordered spaghetti.
