Super cute spot, delicious food! I stopped here for lunch on a mini road trip and I was extremely impressed with the taste of my Market Salad! I added turkey on it and then also got an iced coffee! My only two issues with this place is the lack of seating and the lack of prices on any of the menus. I ended up spending $20 on the salad and coffee which isn't the worst, but I still wish I would've known the itemized prices. Worth the stop!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME THIS WAS AMAZING. I got the hot bird sandwich and it was to die for!!!! The interior is very small so it's first come, first serve if you want to get a seat. Highly recommend!!!!!

While checking out the farmers market on a Saturday morning in town, we decided to grab breakfast at Sissy's Cafe. I was recommended to check it out a previous time by an Airbnb host from a prior visit. The cafe has a small section of seating inside to the right of the register and an outside eating area just in front as well. They have the menu posted on boards outside of the cafe as well as on the wall inside. By the register they may post an extra items that are also possible options. They serve mostly sandwiches, wraps and smoothies at the spot. Lots of the menu options sounded very interesting that it was a tough choice what to grab since a lot of the options sounded so good. I grabbed the Jimmy Pesto which was eggs, avocado and pesto in a wrap. It was delicious, creamy and filling. I also grabbed the mango lassi which was good, but I would more call it a mango yogurt smoothie. The consistency is not as smooth as a lassi drink to equate to it, but overall the taste was refreshing. The staff was nice and got the food to us pretty quick. They also are very popular since we saw many groups come in and out while dining there. We definitely will come back again in the future.

Came for breakfast and the food was so gooood. The wait is worth it because the place is really cute. Service was friendly and would 100% come back.

I'm so happy I stumbled upon this gem. I got the vegan delight sandwich with turkey and cheddar and it was so refreshing, packed with flavor and definitely big enough to share. My friend got the southwest wrap and added some Of their hot sauce, it was also very tasty, a little heavier than my sandwich but overall I can't wait to come back! Service was also amazing and welcoming.

Sissy's is consistent! A good lunch spot right on north front street that has been a quality option for healthier sandwhich, salad, and breakfast options for me. Love the sweet potato wrap and I reallly enjoy their pesto. The smoothies are also aaaamazing. One of my favorite treats here is the almond butter cookie! Outdoor tables and a couple bar seats inside. Counter service, and sometimes does take a little on the longer side for food prep but I think the food is worth it.

What can I say? I love the breakfast burritos at Sissy's so much that I had breakfast here everyday of my trip to Kingston. Day One I had the Southwestern with Bacon on a Gluten Free Wrap (Egg, Cheddar, Avocado, Salsa, Beans) with AquaVitea Kombucha in Hibiscus Ginger Lime. Totally delicious and honestly the only time I've had a gluten free breakfast burrito ANYWHERE and it rocked. It even had the beautiful lines from the panini press! Day 2 I had the Country Burrito on the Gluten Free Wrap (Eggs, Cheddar, Bacon and Cajun Potatoes) with the freshly squeezed OJ. The Country Burrito is my new favorite--a perfect, simple breakfast that I can't wait to order again on my next trip to Kingston. The OJ was a delicious accompaniment. The staff is taking every COVID precaution: masks inside for all and strongly encouraged for guests, only outdoor seating for now (for reference it is late October '21). So happy to support this business and to return after coming here in February 2020, right before the pandemic hit. Now my question is: what brand of gluten free tortillas do they use? Sissy's has seriously set the standard for breakfast burrito perfection and makes sure the gf crowd isn't missing out either! Amen.

We stopped off here while traveling through New York and it was excellent! The smoothies and juices were fresh. The wraps amazing. A cute little space to sit inside, with more seating outside to be in the sun with umbrellas for shade. So happy we stopped!

We got the southwestern wrap and country wrap! The gluten-free wrap was great! And I never like gluten free attempts at breads and tortillas... Except Siete the best gluten-free tortillas ever! I also got some sort of a juice I think or a smoothie I can't remember but it was really good. And the place is cute and there's a secret map of Kingston in the bathroom that I'm sure is outdated but it literally has like phone numbers and everything and it was hand drawn and it reminded me of like shit we had to do before the Internet. Eat your food take a dump look at the map get to know Kingston!!!

This was a great unexpected lunch stop on our way to Vermont. The cafe is currently doing orders to go at the window and are taking all precautions for Covid (masks, gloves, cleaning pens). We ordered Hot Bird sandwiches and a tropical smoothie. The sandwich was stacked tall with avocado, turkey and cheese and the bread was perfectly toasted in a panini maker. The smoothie was fresh and all the food was prepared pretty quickly for being such high quality. We will definitely be back! read more

Where do I even start with this review? Sissy's Cafe is amazing. They're always busy and there's a reason why! Amazing food, amazing service, amazing everything. I've had a number of their sandwiches and ALL of them have been just incredible. The ingredients they use are incredibly fresh and the portions are very generous. They've got tons of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options available should you need. My mother and I once split a bowl of their tomato soup, and I HATE tomato soup, and this soup was...well...amazing! I don't think I'd ever like tomato soup but Sissy's has me second-guessing my dislike of it. They also do juices and smoothies, all of it made from fresh fruit and veggies, that are as good as the food they serve. I've gotten the carrot juice and it's delicious! If you're ever in the Stockade and aren't sure where to grab lunch, Sissy's is a sure bet for great food and impeccable service. read more

It was 90 °F (32 °C) and we were really hot, looking for cold drinks. They have a variety of smoothies and beverages that were really good actually, only thing is the wait. It was very hot and there weren't an abundance of people waiting, but it still took a hot minute for our orders to come out. The servers themselves were really kind though, and I can understand slower service on hotter days. I'd go back! read more

Mmmm. The employees were all so friendly and the decor so cute! the hammy sandwich was amazing, perfect freshness with the sprouts and the ham and cheese added lovely depth. great portion sizes. the reuben is a must order! I got it with turkey, and the cheese and special sauce were just delectable. kept me satisfied, and was a proudly lovely experience. the razzle dazzle smoothie was fantastic as well. it was a perfect mix of razzle and dazzle, with neither overpowering the flavor. highly recommend! read more

What a great little cafe in the middle of Kingston. I had just gotten a facial down the street and just needed a little pick me up. I got the nutty professor smoothie and it was so good! Absolutely delicious and filling. I missed lunch but was planning to have an early dinner so I just needed a little something and this smoothie hit the spot! It was perfect. Everyone was also super duper friendly. Didn't realize they were closing at 2 so I had just made the cut off time because as soon as I walked a row of people started coming but they all got turned away. Thanks Sissy for making my day a little better! read more

Kingston, NY has become quite a place for hipsters and I completely understand that this is a place that's perfect for someone like that. It's a quaint, fun place that is a great venue if you are Vegan and/or gluten free...but it wasn't a great place for me. I get it, not every restaurant is going to hit a home run with me, but that doesn't mean it won't be a 5-star place for you. Came here with my family and my in-laws because they love Sissy's. I happen to have two kids that are a bit picky and I tend to turn my nose up at stuff like 'Fakin Bacon', but we were all able to find something to eat. The service was great here - and I loved the fact that the coffee and tea was self serve...for these two reasons alone I am giving Sissy's four stars. From a personal food standpoint I'd probably give it three because I don't like fighting to find something on a menu...but again, it's clear that most people LOVE it here. As Austin Powers said "It's just not my bag". Maybe another shot at lunchtimes so I can try the Hot Bird sandwich... read more

One of my favorite breakfast/lunch spots! Food is delicious and quick, they're conscientious of COVID (no indoor dining, masks on, outdoor seating with DIY sanitizing for your table/chairs/hands), and the smoothies always hit the spot. There are a number of small parks in walking distance to enjoy your food too if you'd like to be more socially distanced. I absolutely LOVE Sissy's! Fresh, whole food ingredients and the casual atmosphere is everything I want in a local cafe. You can customize anything on the menu and the servers don't even bat an eye. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, beer and kombucha are on tap, WiFi is available and there's plenty of coffee and hot tea varieties. Oh, and smoothies!! :) read more

I love to get the vegan delight at Sissy's. Last time I branched out and got a salad with tempeh. Salads are rarely exciting. This one was. Lots of different tastes. Super fresh and delicious. Counter service was very quick. Not always the case because it is a small and popular shop. Worth it every time. read more

So good! My bf and I were hungry on our way upstate and pulled off into Kingston. What a pleasant surprise! We are gluten free and vegetarian respectively, and we both had tons to choose from! We had just left the DMV and were happy and hungry. Where can we get a cool breakfast in the Stockade District of Kingston. We found a parking space on Wall Street right in front of Sissy's. It was jammed at 10:30 on a Friday morning in July. Wow...what have we been missing. When we sat down the menu wasn't making me excited. It looked too healthy for me. Then I kept reading and wow. This menu has everything with all the right buzz words. This is a totally unpretentious place that seats about 20 and has a menu that beckons. The coffee is self-serve with many flavors. We ordered a Mediterranean wrap with avocado, goat cheese, egg and olive tapenade in a whole wheat wrap. I had a delicious sausage egg and cheese on a hard roll with a spicy mayo. It was just the right spice and yummy. The staff was welcoming and very together. You can do Vegan or Gluten Free. It was a great first time here. We will be back. read more

Dang, this place is good. The staff was super awesome, the food was EXACTLY what I needed on a long day of work! Big bountiful sandwiches, delicious drinks, vegan options for my vegan friends, and you MUST try their tahini salad dressing. It's possibly my favorite tahini dressing I've ever had. read more

There were only two other occupied tables on a Saturday afternoon and the food took a little while to come out (not very bad but not super fast). The owner/chef I believe came over after our food was served which was really nice to check in and offered some future suggestions that we'll be sure to take her up on. The food was cooked to order, super fresh and a lot of details that made it a perfect bite! Cute place with a variety of seating options, the old brick work pops through in some places which adds a really nice historic charm to the place. Also because hubs has had Lobster Newburgh on his mind lately and the closest thing these folks offer is a mixed seafood Newburgh. He went for it. Result? He liked it. My Swai fish was tasty, though I was expecting something a bit flashier than sweet potato fries. My Jamboozle cocktail didn't have any oomph so I stuck to water after that. I had high hopes for the hush puppies because they sounded amazing on paper- but they were doughy than corny and threw me off. Then came dessert. Again- sounded great on paper. It kinda feels like desserts get a "reinvented" treatment here(?). For instance, the strawberry shortcake was deconstructed: a few chunks of white cake, some diced strawberries and whipped cream. Totally unexpected. I ordered the 'Fun-Fetti Dunkaroos' with madeleines because they caught my eye, but they're smaller than standard. The food isn't bad at all. We were just caught off guard by how some of our selections were prepped. What really saved the evening were the cocktails. They were beautifully made and had a lot of strength. Small tasting room with wooden tables and benches, high ceilings and lots of natural light on the all white walls. 8 beers on tap. They don't do flights but will do half pours. Between my girlfriend and I, we tried most of the menu. To me the two standouts were the Schwarzbier (4.9% black lager) and the Co+lab (4.2% English ESB). Both were smooth and flavorful with a slight lingering bitterness. Low ABV makes them both quite quaffable, as they describe one of their other beers. We're from NJ where breweries are only allowed to serve the beer they brew on site and nothing else, so seeing food, wine, and cocktails on the menu was a novelty for us. We didn't try anything besides the beer, but there were some impressive offerings including a penicillin cocktail, and Knackwurst, oysters, and a variety of pizza. Overall a cool spot that we would definitely come back to if we're in the area again.

My favorites were the Marzen, which was like a light and crisp Oktoberfest, and the Rauchbier, which possessed an unique smokiness. We also shared a soft Pretzel, which was the best we had ever had! Its sourdough interior was made from a locally-sourced flour, and its exterior had a rich, brew-inspired coating. It was served with a creamy, salted butter that was divine. We did not try one of their many creative pizzas that had been cooked in their stone oven, but they looked and smelled spectacular! Kingston Standard was an amazing brewery with great beers and delicious food.

I love this place! It's great that they have options for everyone- meat, vegan, vegetarian, organic. It's really gorgeous inside and the two owners are super friendly and helpful. I have to say that when I walked in, I immediately felt at home. The environment is so warm and lovely, one can't help but be comfortable! And, the food is simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious. My favorite item is the Maker's Salad, which comes with lettuce, arugula, carrots, avocado, sprouts, an egg, and tempeh. Their smoothies are also to die for. Overall, just lovely! LOVE this place (and to be honest, I'm writing this in conjunction with a few family members in the room). Food is great and reasonable priced. Service is always excellent. We LOVE that the coffee is serve yourself because who loves an overbearing coffee pourer or waiting for said coffee pourer?! I wish more places did this. Also the on-tap kombucha is wonderful. These guys seriously have the best gluten free pizza in the area. The crust is chewy and crunchy and made in house. It's not at all like Gf pizza I've had at other places that have that nasty, out of the freezer, cardboard flavor. Their pizza doesn't make me feel like I'm missing out on anything, especially with all the topping options. With a glass of wine, I'm in gluten free heaven. Super yum! read more
