Just finishing take out dinner. I got the beef bulging I with side of white rice and Cole slaw. The beef is sweet and delicious. I am not a expect on Korean-food. But I'm happy with the beef. I also get the seafood salad. Which is more than I need but I'm enjoying it. The shrimp in the salad is large. Spouse get the fried shrimp. They are huge. He is quite happy with his meal. Here is a picture of one. Seafood Salad

The worst part of my experience at SiStar is having the food sit in the back, forcing me to smell it the whole car ride back home. I ordered 6 Pieces of Korean Fried Chicken, with the Seafood Platter. (Oysters, Scallops, Shrimp) It tasted just as amazing as it smelled. The Korean Fried chicken was glazed beautifully, and was very sweet and savory. It had an amazing crust, and the 6 pieces was well priced. The Seafood Platter was all done Tempura style, breaded and fried. Each piece was so juicy, especially the scallops. I was expecting to finish the 6 pieces and seafood platter in one go, but it took over two meals. The portions were great for what I had paid.

Korean BBQ as good as it gets Behind the IHOP, there's a little shop called SiStar Seafood. While fresh fish is on display, the star is the Korean BBQ. Between the kalbi and the bulgogi, I chose the bulgogi ($10). My mistake was leaving the container on the drive home. The smell of bbq filled the car. I came home to tender, marinated beef paired with crunchy kimchi as good as they make it in LA and Seoul and big enough for two. Korean bbq and kimchi are both acquired tastes. The beef is slightly sweet and the kimchi is seriously spicy. Definitely worth a try. Food 5/5 Value 5/5

Not a bad place to get a quick bite. I wouldn't recommend eating in since the place is a little small. There's about 5-8 tables. Most people order to go. My family and I chose this spot because it was down the street from our Air BnB and it had pretty good reviews. We had the seafood salad (which they made fresh), the seafood platter with hush puppies and coleslaw, and the Bulgogi plate with rice and kimchi. We also ordered some shrimp fried rice to go. The seafood salad was so fresh and went perfect with the deep fried seafood. It had the perfect amount of mayo and tasted really good with the slight sweetness and crunch from the apples and celery. The seafood platter was also pretty good. The fried scallops were the best IMO. My mom and sister enjoyed the fried oyster also. The fish and shrimp were average. The coleslaw was a good refresher from all the fried food. The hushpuppies were a little over done as it was hard to bite into. The bulgogi plate was average. Nothing special to say about the bulgogi. The kimchi could have been crunchier and the flavor was pretty mild. The shrimp fried rice had a lot of flavor and there was the portions were pretty good. Overall I enjoyed the meal and would return if I was in the area! I would definitely recommend the seafood salad with the fried scallops!

Superb. Fish is fresh, the shrimp and scallops were deep fried but not oily, the kimchi with the white rice was just great. The owner was very helpful and friendly.

I was tired of all the airport hotel food and usual chain...this Korean place was just right answer. I showed up just minutes before closing, the owner was already taking a part stove for deep cleaning (great sign that they care cleanness of kitchen). He and his wife didn't show any reluctance, instead with full of smile took my order, reassembled stove, and start cooking. And keep in mind bugogi could be messy. That was simply a nice gesture and shows their good personality which reflected on quality of food. Food: great, awesome, home style Korean. Great portion and well marinated with right fresh ingredient. This place also sells fish, great price and looked fresh (wish my hotel room had kitchen.) There are several table and chairs to dine in. I highly recommend this joint if you are stuck near airport.

First, I want to acknowledge their intentions with serving the community they're in. I understand that every business wants to survive and attract customers, but at what cost? The music choice felt intentional in a way that seemed to invite the kind of energy that leads to negative interactions in the establishment. They could easily consistently play R&B or classic hip-hop and create a better atmosphere. My community doesn't need anyone coming in stirring up trouble and tearing down the goodness we are doing for the sake of financial gain. Situations erupt there often and there is no one to blame but them. You get what you put out. Second, the outside of the building was dirty and smelled strongly like cigarettes before I even walked in. Trash was visible as well. Now onto the food. Honestly, you're better off making your own boil bags at home. We ordered multiple bags with "The Boom," which is supposed to be all of their seasonings mixed together. Instead, it tasted like oily dirt. I mean ZERO flavor. I was genuinely upset because we spent almost $100 and the bags and ate two bites. I'm getting mad all over again just thinking about it. I also ordered the fried oysters. The fry on them was actually perfect, but once again, the seasoning was completely missing. At that point I felt like filing a missing seasoning report with the police because how does everything come out with zero flavor? I mean, you're right next to Walmart for goodness sake! The same thing happened with the fries. They were so bad I would have rather been handed a plain baked potato. Overall, 0 out of 10 recommend.

Overall, such a fun and welcoming atmosphere the music was great, had our kids jammin-- we'll definitely be back!

I ordered the just fish that comes with ten (10) pieces. Yes count them 1, 2,3,...10. Just like the Count on Sesame Street. Everyone is locked on right. I paid the money and the guy at the counter charged me for how many? Ten (10) fish pieces. After my short wait, my order was ready. The guy at the window showed me the fish looking golden brown and delicious. Hot piping hot. I said they looked good and ready for liftoff. Got to the car and my wife and I were happy at the time. After several hours and other stops we made it home. We live in Baltimore Md. A short 4 hour ride away. When my wife had unpacked the food and she asked me did I eat any fish? I said No? If I had she would have killed me before the plate got cold. She said that then they (Sugar's) did not give us piece number 10. The Boss was not happy and neither was I. Now I don't mind paying for delicious food and will do again. What I do mind is paying for fish that does not appear on my plate. I felt RIPPED OFF! If someone in the back of the house can't count to ten (10) and your employing someone who doesn't know how to count to 10, I am wondering what else is going on in the back of the house. Advise 1) Moving forward I will ask them to count them before accepting the finished product 2) Don't buy the Onion Rings. My wife does not care for them and she is an Onion ring person. Let's do this again but I'm bring the Count with me and the number 10 JUST TO MAKE SURE WERE CLEAR!

We started with incredible oysters- I'm not a huge oyster person, but these really stood out, especially the seasonal mignonette. We ended up ordering another two because we liked them so much! Our favorite dish of the night was the Nashville hot shrimp- great heat level and flavor, they were perfectly crispy and paired so well with the house pickles and white BBQ sauce they were served with. We could've easily taken down another plate of these. They had a tomato hand pie special that we also really enjoyed, as well as the crab hush puppies. We liked our entrees (swordfish and the smash burger, which wasn't really a smash burger but was still a solid burger), but enjoyed the small plates much more. We ended with the white chocolate budino, which is a pretty generous portion and was SO tasty- it came with a ton of brownie chunks and cocoa nibs! Service was really friendly from everyone there. My only critique is it is LOUD inside, so be prepared to speak up. We'd definitely return if we were back in the area!

Noise level can be challenging so we try to go in the early side when possible. Went for our anniversary in during Richmond restaurant week in October (they gave us a complimentary glass of bubbly to celebrate) and again with the kids in December. They always have amazing cocktails. Their mixologist is on their game with so many choices! For our anniversary, we got Cloud Boat and Apartment in the City, and we loved them both. Both were completely as described, light and ez in the palate which is a skill for whiskey. For apps we got the PEI mussels and the smoked fish dip. Again both were delicious. I particularly love my fish dip - the groom focaccia was done beautifully in the dill was a nice compliment to the flavor. For entrées, we had the catfish sandwich and the Arctic char. The catfish sandwich was good, but nowhere near the quality of the Arctic char, which was savory and delicious and elevated by the brown butter and golden raisins. Since it was restaurant week the dessert was included in the price so we got the apple cranberry fry pie And the chocolate ganache bar. Both were a nice way to end the meal. Tasty but not mind blowing. With the kids we ordered Gnac attack, Proper Dose, American Love Call, and Bebot. Again they were all so good but for me the Proper Dose and Gnac attack were the best. For apps we got the fish dip and one of the specials and loved them both. Entrees were the Spanish mackerel, the arctic char and a special that was a gumbo and rice. We ate everything and had no room for dessert. Can't wait to go back.
