Sea food salad
Pat H.

Just finishing take out dinner. I got the beef bulging I with side of white rice and Cole slaw. The beef is sweet and delicious. I am not a expect on Korean-food. But I'm happy with the beef. I also get the seafood salad. Which is more than I need but I'm enjoying it. The shrimp in the salad is large. Spouse get the fried shrimp. They are huge. He is quite happy with his meal. Here is a picture of one. Seafood Salad

Not a bad place to get a quick bite. I wouldn't recommend eating in since the place is a little small. There's about 5-8 tables. Most people order to go. My family and I chose this spot because it was down the street from our Air BnB and it had pretty good reviews. We had the seafood salad (which they made fresh), the seafood platter with hush puppies and coleslaw, and the Bulgogi plate with rice and kimchi. We also ordered some shrimp fried rice to go. The seafood salad was so fresh and went perfect with the deep fried seafood. It had the perfect amount of mayo and tasted really good with the slight sweetness and crunch from the apples and celery. The seafood platter was also pretty good. The fried scallops were the best IMO. My mom and sister enjoyed the fried oyster also. The fish and shrimp were average. The coleslaw was a good refresher from all the fried food. The hushpuppies were a little over done as it was hard to bite into. The bulgogi plate was average. Nothing special to say about the bulgogi. The kimchi could have been crunchier and the flavor was pretty mild. The shrimp fried rice had a lot of flavor and there was the portions were pretty good. Overall I enjoyed the meal and would return if I was in the area! I would definitely recommend the seafood salad with the fried scallops!

Korean BBQ as good as it gets Behind the IHOP, there's a little shop called SiStar Seafood. While fresh fish is on display, the star is the Korean BBQ. Between the kalbi and the bulgogi, I chose the bulgogi ($10). My mistake was leaving the container on the drive home. The smell of bbq filled the car. I came home to tender, marinated beef paired with crunchy kimchi as good as they make it in LA and Seoul and big enough for two. Korean bbq and kimchi are both acquired tastes. The beef is slightly sweet and the kimchi is seriously spicy. Definitely worth a try. Food 5/5 Value 5/5

Superb. Fish is fresh, the shrimp and scallops were deep fried but not oily, the kimchi with the white rice was just great. The owner was very helpful and friendly.

I was tired of all the airport hotel food and usual chain...this Korean place was just right answer. I showed up just minutes before closing, the owner was already taking a part stove for deep cleaning (great sign that they care cleanness of kitchen). He and his wife didn't show any reluctance, instead with full of smile took my order, reassembled stove, and start cooking. And keep in mind bugogi could be messy. That was simply a nice gesture and shows their good personality which reflected on quality of food. Food: great, awesome, home style Korean. Great portion and well marinated with right fresh ingredient. This place also sells fish, great price and looked fresh (wish my hotel room had kitchen.) There are several table and chairs to dine in. I highly recommend this joint if you are stuck near airport.

I absolutely love the staff, very family oriented and friendly. Their crabs FRESH COOK TO ORDER. Some places in Henrico cook their crabs and then refrigerate. NOT HERE!! You will not be disappointed at all. I had their Korean Wing YUM YUM is all I can say.

We soon found out it was a fish and chips pub and they had a few seats open for the soccer match. They have British appetizers like Scotch egg, sausage roll, curry chips and gluten free fish and chips if you are tracking GF. . They also have a Thai menu but we were into fish and chips and were not disappointed. Crispy, fresh fish and the chips were fantastic. We had several British beers on draft a few Guinness and we had a blast. Service was great, efficient and attentive. Our team won, what a wonderful day..

My boss was in town so 6 of us went there for lunch and the place was half full with most people already eating. No lie, 50 minutes later the place had cleared out and we still had not gotten our food. We all ordered the only thing on the menu - fish and chips. We were having a good time talking so the time flew but when we asked the server how much longer she got snarky and said it was a full restaurant when you came in and there is only one cook and she goes in order and she will check. We only kindly asked how long lady, no need to get defensive and chide us for asking after 50 minutes. The server had mobility issues so it took another 10 minutes to be told that it was coming in 5. I saw then in the open kitchen the cook pick up a piece of fish and put it in the fryer - so only just starting the orders. Wow. 20 minutes later we ate. The food was meh, not bad, not great. The paper they put it on is plastic coated and tears with the fork and you end up eating it. I asked for another TINY plastic ramekin of tartar. THE BILL FOR 6 FISH AND CHIPS NO DRINKS - $178. 20% AUTOMATIC TIP for AWFUL service. The owner came over prior to apologize for the wait and walked away. But, they still charged $.50 for the extra tartar hahhha. Couldn't have thrown that in for our troubles? The door to the bathroom outside and in was FILTHY so I can only imagine the kitchen. All it takes is a sponge and some soap to clean that, don't they see it!? One and done.

We were looking for a place nearby that could accommodate our group of about 35 people, including a team of energetic 9-year-old baseball players, where everyone could cool off, relax, and enjoy lunch. We found Trevor's Grill & Tavern online and weren't quite sure what to expect. We called about 15 minutes ahead to let them know a large group was on the way, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. They seated us on the enclosed patio, which was absolutely perfect for our group. The boys were loud, excited, and full of energy, and every member of the staff was incredibly patient, friendly, and helpful. They took everyone's orders quickly, the food came out surprisingly fast, and everything we ordered was delicious. Excellent service, great food, and a welcoming staff made what could have been a hectic lunch with a large youth sports team a fantastic experience. We truly appreciated their hospitality and would absolutely return the next time we're in the area. Highly recommend!

People were up dancing and having a genuinely good time, which made the whole experience even better. My friend ordered the wings and loved them. I had the cod, and it was absolutely delicious. The batter wasn't too heavy and stayed nice and crispy. The cod itself was thick and tasted fresh, like real fish. The fries were A1. My only callout with my dish was the tartar sauce. It had more of a sweet, Miracle Whip-type taste that was a little off-putting for me. It may not be that way for you. My next callout would be the timeframe in which our server got to us. I will say that there had seemed to be some confusion about assigned sections but once he got there, he was a rockstar. Suggestion: switch the lettuce that's underneath the fish with cabbage. It's holds up much better and helps with presentation as well. Their tea and lemonade mix was so good I ended up getting two cups and even took one to go. I will add that I once ordered the firecracker shrimp through DoorDash, and while I could tell it's probably great in the restaurant, it didn't travel well as takeout. Overall, I will definitely visit again.

The bar was getting full, but there were still a few tables left to choose from. This is a dive, similar to Poe's Pub, so if that's not your scene, don't come here. That said, we really like the character of this place, even if it smells a little funky upstairs. It adds to the character and charm, or at least, that's what we tell ourselves. The same bartender as usual (still don't know his name) helped us. They do have a sour beer. It's not as fruity as I like, though, still passable. (Seriously, Patrick Henry's, y'all need to order some from Texas and Oklahoma sours for the real deal; Martin House Brewing Co. in Ft Worth does them so right). Anyway, we ordered the goat cheese bread appetizer (warm apple butter, goat cheese, and sunflower seeds = immense pleasure). For entrees, I grabbed the Hot Chicken Pizza (hot sauce and pickles!), and my partner went for the chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. There was so much food that we had leftovers, as usual. They heated up well in the air fryer and were nearly as good. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE. I will admit, it does look slightly seedy, but the food here is magnificent. The pizza was thin, crispy, and full of delicious flavor. I swear, the chefs here know what they are doing with their menu. It's simple, yet elegant. The appetizers are simple, yet they easily compete with The Brooklyn and Pinky's apps, for example, which are more affordable and in a more relaxed environment. Do yourself a favor and get the goat cheese. It sings. The customers here are chill and interesting, and the bartender is calm and cool; he never seems out of sorts, even when the bar is full with a line out the door. I wholeheartedly recommend Patrick Henry's. We have been here twice now, and the service and food have been excellent both times (Sept 2025, May 2026).

Dear Management Team, Today, May 5, 2026 at 6:15 pm…read more I am writing to formally express my disappointment with a recent experience at your downtown Richmond location, Capital Ale House. On the evening of our visit, I hosted a party of 11 guests. Everyone in our party was present and seated by 6:10 PM. Unfortunately, the service we received from our waitress, Jen, was unacceptable from the start. Her tone and approach toward our table came across as brash and unwelcoming. As we attempted to simplify our order by keeping it on one check, her responses were dismissive rather than helpful. At one point, I was told in a cold and abrupt manner that I could not have my carrot cake before my meal because "that's not the way it comes." This interaction set the tone for the remainder of the evening. I requested to speak with a manager on four separate occasions, and each time my request was declined or ignored. It was only after Jen visibly became frustrated and stumped away that a manager was finally brought to the table. When Ruby, who identified herself as the manager, arrived, her initial response felt defensive rather than solution-oriented. While she did eventually apologize and stated she would take care of us by ensuring we received happy hour pricing, the overall experience had already been negatively impacted. What makes this especially disappointing is that I am a regular customer who dines at this location for lunch at least three times a month. I chose to bring my family here expecting a positive experience, and instead, it was quite the opposite. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve both customer service and management responsiveness moving forward. I would appreciate follow-up regarding this matter.

Upon entering, I was reminded of a 1950s pharmacy by the humongous "Prescriptions" sign hanging above the bar, and the antique furniture, bar, and barstools splayed throughout Tarrant's. There was a solid crowd at the bar; it's clear there is a regular crowd that sits and hangs out here. We were promptly seated by a young blonde woman in the dining section (behind the bar). Our server, Nadia, was an enchanting brunette, training another young server, Sierra. She took our drink orders and gave us plenty of time to review the menu, checking in after a few minutes to see if we were ready. We finally decided, my partner ordered the 10" Bianca White (pizza), and I chose the Sailor Sandwich. Unfortunately, the sailor was not in the cards for me, and Nadia suggested the Reuben as they were similar. They brought out breadsticks while we waited, and the food arrived within 10-15 minutes. I was pleased with the atmosphere, the old-fashioned chandeliers, the large mirror, the floral paintings, and the rustic frames, all of which added to the restaurant's stated aesthetic. The pizza was hot and savory, while the Reuben had buttery toast, crispy corned beef, and a light smattering of sauerkraut (TBH, I didn't even notice the sauerkraut). For dessert, we indulged in the upside-down walnut apple pie, served with vanilla ice cream, all made from scratch, and beautifully delicate. Our time at Tarrant's Cafe seemed like a stroll into the past; the only indication of modernity was the ordering kiosk used by the staff. We truly enjoyed our time and had deeply meaningful conversations without enduring the hustle and bustle or the rowdy cacophony of an intense crowd.
