My group of five, mostly Koreans, stopped in right when they opened at 4PM on a Saturday and were immediately seated. Service was great and had us slinging back cocktails in no time. Of everything we tried, my favorite was easily the off menu Dirty Kimchi Martini made with their house kimchied olives. It comes out reddish in color and is absolutely divine. We liked the olives so much that we ended up ordering more of them with the food. Wanting the full experience, we ordered a bunch of dishes including bossam, banchan, tuna tartare, toastie sandos, shrimp toast, and those amazing olives. Everything was tasty, with the toasties and shrimp toast tying for first place. Our main issue was the pricing compared to the portion sizes. The $38 bossam was probably the biggest offender, as our group of five barely got more than one or two ssams per person. Considering you can take a five minute ride north to Charles North Koreatown and get an elite bossam experience with a much larger portion for less, that one raised a few eyebrows. And $20 for banchan, something normally complimentary at Korean restaurants and bars, would have an ajumma rolling in her grave. The interior is a little plain jane at the moment, although that could certainly change as they get their feet wet. Overall, Bar Alice Anne is a fun spot worth trying and I would definitely return for the cocktails. I just would not consider it a Korean food destination, especially with so many great options a short ride away.
