My friend and I stopped in on motorcycles today for a bite and a beer. I've always enjoyed "mountain" atmosphere here. The waitress, Stephy, could not have been more bubbly and accommodating if she tried. She was warm, helpful, fast and downright flirty. She is absolutely amazing and a reason to stop in for lunch all all by herself. The food came out fast, hot and tasty. Stephy was bringing refills before our glasses were empty so we didn't even have to ask. What a wonderful and warm place this is. I even enjoyed the old and very friendly dog that walked around and greeted everyone. This place is definitely worth stopping in and checking out. The pulled pork is off the hook. Yummmm. read more

I recommend the Sit N Bull for exactly what it is, a great stop on a bike ride up the mountain, with friendly service and cold drinks. Gretchen brings the sparkle, what more can I say? We've tried to eat there a few times and they were short on help or we got there early or late, so I can't comment on the food much, but it is a staple if you are in the area. Have a seat, get a cold drink, be patient and be nice! You just might meet some great people and have interesting conversation. (the signs are fun too). read more

Worth stopping by after a hike for a beer! Darts, pool and a nice patio with the view of a little waterfall. They have life music every weekend. The upstairs is very cozy. Seems like a stop for bikers but we had fun post hike. Definitely a "dive bar" vibe. read more

Absolutely awful!! We were so excited to try this place as it looks like a great bar in pictures and has a lovely patio. We were greeted with a waiter who was too drunk and high to function and didn't seems to understand what was asked. We waited over 30 minutes for our beers and asked 3 times for water for our dog. When we went inside to ask the bar about our beers they were very rude and confrontational. The bartender was too drunk to complete our order and we ended up having to carry our tray outside ourselves. We asked again for water for the dog which resulted in the servers and patrons making fun of us. When we went to pay they collected more than our bill then became very hostile and confrontational when we asked for our change back. Patrons... probably regulars who were incoherent sitting at a nearby booth started to get involved and began screaming at us for trying to correct our bill. We saw several workers taking shot after shot and smoking weed outside while on their shift. Very sad how quickly the night turned and became a very unpleasant, uncomfortable experience, The moto is come as a stranger leave as a friend, however, we were mocked for not living in the mountains... which we do. Came in to grab a bite to eat after a morning in the mountains. Pics of the burger and fries looked great so that's what I ordered plus a drink. Overall, I'd try some other local options first but this was a decent lunch. Burger was requested well done and was it cooked well done, not over or rare. It had a mildly grilly taste which I enjoyed. However it was pretty dicey ground beef quality. Thinking 75% lean? I saw in every bite (and also chewed down on) some pretty iffy cartilage and little chewy firm fatty bits. I am very picky about my beef quality so although I liked the cooking process I wouldn't order this again. Most people probably wouldn't mind the meat quality but might notice it wasn't great. I was also mildly bummed that I only had one small slice of tomato included but plenty of onion and lettuce. The fries were pretty good. Natural cut real potatoes. They were a little "dry" on the inside though. I made up for it with dips of BBQ (a little extra for sauces like that here, no biggie). I chose to sit on the second floor because it was empty and I wanted to chill and read a little. It was quiet up there, if a little warm, and although the ONLY waitress was clearly very busy she never forgot about me and came to check on me at all the right times. I was impressed with the service, especially given some reviews. No one was particularly friendly but they were polite and pleasant enough and *effective*. The downstairs has a view of a little water fall coming out of the mountainside and was noticeably cooler. I didn't notice a huge amount of smokers or locals. People seemed like.... People. *shrug* maybe night time yields different results? Although I wouldn't pop in again soon I would probably offer it as a decent option to people if anyone asked for recommendations. read more

Comically bad experience here after a Mt Falcon hike. It gets great reviews on Google, but I should've looked at Yelp... one person trying to run it all...poorly. Extremely short-staffed and extremely poor service as a result. Waaaaay over-priced. Also they were out of tortillas for burritos, but failed to mention they were out of tortillas for the quesadilla, so by the time our food came 45 minutes later, they barely thought to mention they couldn't make a quesadillas. "Nobody wants to work" uttered more than once. Overall terrible atmosphere and terrible service for okay food. read more

Literally in the middle of this picturesque mountains, was this cute and cozy neighborhood bar! Sat down and ordered. Amazing smoked hot wings ! My husband had to try the Rocky Mountain oysters. Very good! Loved that everyone who walked in greeted us. Knew in a second that we were out of towners ! We had a great conversation, and liked listening to stories! Owner Amber was just as gracious! Took advantage of the beautiful day and sat out in the front deck. Simply beautiful outing! Business owner is a bitch. Sorry "Amber," but not sorry. Awful demeanour, thoroughly unattractive personality, and the sole reason I would never come back to this otherwise enjoyable spot. We were actually having a great time with the staff (who were remarkably polite) until she came in. Apparently, she felt the need to dive into all of her business frustrations and woes, which ultimately sounded like a plea to "buy more, eat more" - despite us already having food and drink. It felt really pathetic, and was an immediate turnoff to get additional rounds (we'd planned to be there a while). The food is pretty rough. The fries taste like the oil hasn't been changed in a very long time. I'm not taking off too many points because, judging by the fact the place doesn't even have a front door, my expectations aren't set too high. The karaoke seemed really fun, and the music was good! I feel like this place could be a solid winner if it were in more capable hands. The WORST part is they clearly smoke pot in their office, but that doesn't seem to chill them out. Some business advice for ya would be to work on your etiquette, and to not sound so desperate. Pressuring produces counteractive results. In the end, I really want good business to succeed. You would've earned ten times what you did that night, and I see a bleak future for you at the rate you're going. read more

I had such horrible service at this bar. Bartender was partying with patrons and was so trashed he could barely work the register. Patrons were smoking weed in the bar and the bartender was doing shots rather than serving guests. I had to carry our tray outside after it sat on the bar for 15 minutes. Not sure how this place is still open with all of the free drinking being done by the bartender and patrons, and having patrons and bar staff cussing guests out. The staff was incompetent and when asking for water because the jugs were empty, they laughed and continued to make fun of us. We waited 30 minutes for drinks and then went to check where they were and saw the whole staff taking shots. We had an awful experience. Spotted this on the way to my hike this morning and knew it's where I'd be afterward. They apparently serve breakfast which is why the lot was full at 9.30am. Got there around 1 pm just as a crowd of bikers were leaving and a band was setting up to play at 2. Pretty decent 1/2 pound burgers with fries for $8. Totally hit to spot after a 6 mile hike. Forgot to mention they have chalk walls in the lady's room and very funny signs throughout the bar area. read more

Not a friendly bunch. I came in around 4pm after a day of hiking and was looking for a quick beer. I was never greeted and stood by the bar in the doorway as multiple members of staff walked right past me. I must of made direct eye contact with the bartender multiple times and tried to ask if it was self seating, only to be completely ignored. I moved closer to the bar and was finally acknowledged, only to be told that I couldn't stand on the side I was at due to covid. A few minutes later the same bartender was laughing and serving regulars at the same side of the bar I was told I could not stand at. I waited another 10 minutes of being ignored before I left. Absolutely will not come back! The bar inside was crammed and felt very claustrophobic, also no one was wearing masks. read more

This place is great for what it is, a neighborhood dive bar. We stopped in after a hike at Mt. Falcon, got a couple buckets of beer, sat out on the patio, talked some trash, the usual. It was a very comfortable place to kick back. We had eaten picnic-style on our hike, so no one ate the food here (although many commented about how squeamish they would be about eating here). The inside is very cramped and loud (given the number of drunk guys and gals who felt the need to scream to the person next to them. It's a cute spot. Can't pass up those hole in the wall places, where the locals go and the usual suspects do not disappoint. Tiny, tiny, tiny... but we loved it. Had a pint of the Hard Apple Cider - very sweet and very strong. We ordered the patty melt and cheese nachos, nothing to write home about, but we knew it was a tavern and were going for the experience. I wouldn't order the nachos again, most likely, but would try something else. Uh... Karoke nights on Thursdays... this is the kind of place where everyone laughs and has a great time. On our way up to Salida for the weekend, a few friends and I stopped at the Sit N Bull Saloon in Indian Hills, Colorado for lunch. This dive bar is located just off of U.S. Route 285 just past the Morrison area. Entry to the building is through the covered outdoor area, which is not a smoke free spot. The inside area is really just the bar, so it's probably not the best restaurant to take the kids. Our group decided to sit outside. Fortunately the Thursday afternoon lunch crowd was not large and there weren't too many smokers around. The back of the outside area overlooks a man-made waterfall area, which provides soothing sounds throughout the space. There is a dart board and what looks like an area for bands to setup. Our group started with a couple of orders of mozzarella sticks, which appeared to be cooked from a frozen bag as is often done. They arrived hot and were served with large bowls of marinara, which actually looked to be homemade. The waitress actually said that a lot of the food is made from scratch, which surprised me as I was expecting standard ready to cook bar food. For lunch I had the BLT sandwich with onion rings. Again the onion rings did not appear to be of the frozen variety, which was a nice touch. The BLT was served on your choice of bread, of which there were many. I went with sourdough and thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the toppings were fresh and tasty. Sit N Bull provides a great lunch or dinner stop when in the foothills of Denver. read more

Honestly, I am not generally a fan of bars, but this one is nice and close with that real chill, homey type of feel. I mean, yeah it's still a bar - the drinks can be pricey, it's typical bar food, and there is smoking. Not sure why that seems to shock anyone... Just be cool with the owner, staff and others in the place and I don't imagine any issue; We've never had one. We all love the place, as have everyone we've brought there. There's several rooms - My favorite has the pool table which was always free for us. At least a round of drinks would always be free too. Then there's the free darts in that little outside area. We were a party of 4 and we were there for 4 hours. The place was not busy. Had to order food twice, customers were clearing tables, had to continually go up to the bar to check on beer orders and when we voiced how service was... the response from Amber was "if you don't like it, don't come back". This woman looked like she was 3 sheets to the wind (obviously drinking whatever profits you might be making). You don't treat people the way she did and especially in the biker community word travels fast on what a horribly ran establishment this now is.... disrespecting the customers will put you out of business. This was my favorite little dive bar in the area. I was there 4 times in 3 days. It's in the valley and it's everything a dive should be. It has old timers, late night regulars and just off the beaten path that you have to go looking for it to find it. I will be back again. read more
