First time going to get a message today. I had a really bad sore muscle that connected from my neck to my back. The guy who did my massage was a very nice guy. I can tell he doesn't understand English much. But that's okay. I kept asking to get a little lower and away from my shoulders. But he didn't understand. But that's okay. He was very kind very nice. He had asked if I was feeling okay. But honestly, I first requested for the 15 minute chair massage. And he said okay. Once he was working on my back at the very beginning he was doing a little work, then he said you should go 30 minutes. I said eh it's okay. Just a little light work is fine. Then he kept saying I'm a little tight and it would be best to do a 30 minute to get all the knots out in my back. So I was like okay well fine. So we went with the 30 minute chair massage. It felt nice at first. But I will let yall know that they go very hard on the elbow. Like with their elbows they go hard. You can feel it. They're all about pressure points here in the back. It hurt. It did. But I touched it out because I knew I needed it. At the end I when I got up from the massage I just felt my whole body release all the tension. I felt free. Felt better. But also, was sweating a lot because it felt like he had done a lot of work to my back. It hurt but it was good for my back. Like I said I toughed it out. I would def come back though. This Tanforan mall is dead. I only come here for 3 or 4 reasons. Massage here is always appreciated. I climb stairs and I feel like I'm tied to the earth. After a massage here, I feel comfortable walking up stairs. He just unlocks my back and legs, which most places cannot do for me. I recommend 30 min in the back and 30 min foot massage, or all 60 in the back. The other reasons to come to this mall are JCPenney, Target, and Barnes and Noble. They could all close down and I'm going to follow the guy we get massage from, wherever he goes. read more

The massage really hurt I was in pain the whole time and I wanted the 30 minutes to be over as soon as possible. When I was going to pay they made me give a tip and I didn't want to. I got mad because the guy who gave me the massage demanded a tip it was the worse 30 minutes of my life they massage to hard and I think I got bruises. The place was empty and quiet. read more

Walked in the music was so relaxing. I was greeted kind of rudely and the lady who gave me my massage seemed angry that she was digging her elbows into me. I said ouch a few times but she kept going at it in that same area. You can tell she was going rough on me when there is squeaking from the table and my whole body is moving with her. I've given up on this place. I'd literally been patronizing this place for years, through a couple owners. It's almost like a bad chinese restaurant experience. They yell at eachother, talk loud, smack their cheeks and gums while working you over. All part of the silly experience. But the chair massage has always been really effective. Typically strong handed people digging in to some pretty deep knots. However, over the past few years, the prices have shot up, 30%. The equipment is the same as it was 10 years ago and is falling apart. The clientele has diminished as Tanforan is a ghost town, so I don't blame them that much. What's sent me packing was this... I tip well. A 30 min chair massage costs $36 (up from $24 several years ago) and I tip $8. That's 22%. Sometimes I bump it to $10. The last time (which will be the last time) I went, the therapist demanded a $10 tip rather than the $8. Demanded. So I pulled $2 more out of my wallet, the smiled and said thanks, and I said I wouldn't be coming back. He tried to give me the $2 back. Fat chance. Adios. read more

Worst customer service and very angry rude Asian woman. If you see her run! She seemed upset from the start. I asked for a 90 mins massage and she said no, just 60 mins. I was fine with that but as soon as I asked if I could have a female masseuse she started yelling in Chinese to a man massaging a customer. Then says loudly to me "No English, No English!" I should have walked out then. But when she motioned me to the massage table and I went along thinking she was going to get someone so I lied down. Holy crap!! She started kneading by back and elbowing it so hard I whimpered that it hurt and it was too hard. She just mumbled and kept hurting me with her angry massage to the point I couldn't take it anymore. I could only stand 2mins of that torture. I jumped up and said " No I'm done, I'll pay you for the time. She screamed "No Pay! No Pay!" I told her calmly that she was hurting me but I would pay for whatever time she spent on me (which was less than 5 mins) She just kept yelling "No pay" so I left. I could not believe it. I have never had such a rude experience. My left shoulder still hurts until today. She would have caused serious injury to my back if I had let her continue. Would give it a 0 star if I could. She really was a horrible lady. She is lucky I am not the kind of person that likes to get into a confrontation because I held my tongue and stayed calm. Had to just shake my head and leave. Possibly the other masseuses are decent. Just stay clear of her. Or better yet, go elsewhere. read more

The Chinese lady who took me in for a whole body massage was so rude and her massage hurts so bad. I don't even consider it a massage it's torture. She digs in too hard angrily at my back and my collarbone. I whimpered a few times and I say ouch but she does not even care to ask if I'm still okay or if she's hurting me. Whenever she positions my arm she grabs it and puts it down hard like she was angry. We were in a room but she was talking, yelling, to her coworker in Chinese on the other side. Hidden gem in Tanforan. The people who are working here are very friendly and polite. The massage was great. I've had a lot of massages in my lifetime, both high end and more casual environments. This is one of the better places I've been to. Very affordable and clean place. I will be back. read more

Went to this place in the past and had a horrible experience with a very rude Chinese man who kept snorting his nose as if he had a bad cold while massaging me. Decided to go back considering it has a different name, possibly new management. Walked in with my teenage son and asked for 2, 30 minute chair massages. I also requested if my son and I could get massaged at the same time so we can be side by side. The Chinese lady says yes but turns around and starts mocking me about asking for massages at the same time. Her and another woman started speaking in Chinese and repeated "Same Time", Chinese mumble, "Same Time" while laughing! Told the lady that I changed my mind and just make each massage 15 minutes. I can't stand rudeness or horrible customer service. How does this business even make money with ignorant employees like this without any etiquette or manners. Don't spend your money here! I always go to this location to have chair massage when need. All of the staff are well-trained; they know how to help my muscles back to right spot. Also it really helps my shoulder and neck pain.
