Stephanie deserves a 10 star review! The only reason I haven't given a full review is because I have not had my situation from the other location resolved yet. But I would not be doing business or even considering getting another mattress from sit and sleep if it was not for Stephanie and the customer service manager that reached out to me after speaking with the manager at the Laguna Hills location. Stephanie was straightforward and intensive as well as fully capable of understanding what I was looking for and provided me with exactly what I was looking for inside the store! Having looked for a bad previously and at the other location was not fun. I didn't feel that I was being listened to when it came to the firmness And it was basically left to just sit on different beds rather than being shown exactly which one. I equate this to the original sales person assuming that I could not purchase not knowing how much money I made annually. Sorry but obviously considering the amount of commission and the amount of the purchase that I made with a different sales person that same week, I am sure the original sales person learned a lesson that day. However I was not aware of the issues with the mattresses that they do not have any longer and was looking for the replacement and that is when Stephanie stepped in. I did not have a great experience with the manager at the Laguna Hills location and so I decided to take my business somewhere closer to home And go through the Marietta location. I'm glad that I did that and came across Stephanie! I am hopeful that between her helping me find the bed that I was looking for within 20 minutes max just from listening to me and knowing her product! That and Waiting for the customer service agent to get back to me to rectify my situation at the other location. I am hopeful that I will be able to do business with Stephanie and with sit and sleep in the future based upon my positive experience with Stephanie today. I hope that she gets recognized as she not only saved the possible deal but also the reputation for the entire company and experience. I truly hope that she is utilized as an opportunity to retrain the staff in Laguna Hills. Thank you so much Stephanie! My husband and I had been shopping around town for a mattress to help with our lower back pain and initially had sticker shock going into the other places to learn of how expensive mattresses had become since we got ours nearly ten years ago. Our initial visit to S and S was a few weeks before we ended up making our purchase. Larry helped us the first time and wasn't salesy or pushy whatsoever. He had us go on the test bed to be evaluated and showed us some different options. We left with a positive taste in our mouth and it was just a matter of if we could swing the price. When Memorial Day sales started popping up, we opted to return once more. My husband and I had done a decent amount of research, and were pretty set on the "Purple" brand of bed. We really wanted to upgrade to a King but were nervous about if we could swing the price. On our second visit we were lucky enough to be helped by the store manager, Lori Mitchell. We instantly connected being teachers, and learning that Lori was a retired educator herself. Lori never pressured us, and we were upfront with her of our budget ($2100 for a bed), which we were worried was going to be impossible. Instead of laughing at us, Lori educated us about how floor models work (we both never realized the savings one could achieve going this route, wow). After testing the Purple beds and sharing our favorite with her, she took us to her desk to crunch some numbers, and we held our breath. She informed us that she had a Cal King Purple bed (the hybrid and exact one we wanted) for only $1600 dollars! We couldn't believe it! From there, she walked us through the different things we would need with the bed ( you do not use box springs with this style), a brand new frame, mattress protectors and pillow protectors (she threw these in for us). The process was a lot more manageable and low stress because of Lori. We had our 9 month old son with us, and although he was pretty patient, he fussed towards the end, and Lori gave him an adorable little plush Serta sheep cozy. As we were wrapping up the transaction, my husband and I were talking about needing to pick up sheets, and Lori, knowing we were on a budget, threw in a set completely free for us! I was blown away. Coordinating the delivery was simple, and I even ended up emailing her and changing the date of the delivery since it was my birthday weekend. She was super accommodating! I would highly recommend Sit and Sleep for your mattress needs. My husband and I had been to other local stores in the area where the sales people followed us around, acting very awkwardly, but with Sit and Sleep, and both Lori and Larry, we felt like we were among friends, and that they wanted to help us score the best deal possible. Ask about the warrantee on their products and Sit 'n Sleep will instantly tell you that if you ever have a problem with your mattress while it is under warrantee, they will provide you with a store credit and replace it with any mattress in the store within a few days! I called with my warrantee issue and was told that I "moved out of the area and would have to take it up with Beauty Rest directly". After TWO MONTHS of back and forth with Beauty Rest they admitted that the mattress was defective and indicated that it would take ANOTHER 60+ days to process the replacement order and another week to ship. I decided to press Sit 'n Sleep on the warrantee and their own guarantee of timely replacement. To prove my point, I went on-line and purchased a new Beauty Rest mattress from Sit 'n Sleep for delivery in Palm Springs. The order when right through and delivery was scheduled for the following Saturday. I then went to the Sit 'n Sleep store in Redlands, CA and purchased another new mattress, again for delivery on Saturday. Turns out that Saturday is the only day they deliver in Palm Springs -- EVERY SATURDAY! When I confronted Peter Janis at the corporate office with the lies I had been told by Sit 'n Sleep and threatened them with small claims court, he and Sit 'n Sleep suddenly decided (more than two months into the process) that they could process the warrantee after all and would deliver the new mattress on, of all days, Saturday! Art answered all of our questions (and there were a lot of them), assisted us in assessing out individual sleep styles and requirements, and then showed us frames and mattresses that met our needs. I was looking for a new Nectar mattress during the pandemic and was having a hard time due to extreme shipping delays. After calling multiple local stores I ended up speaking to Sit n' Sleeps telesales department and the lady I spoke with was awesome. She tracked down incoming inventory from Nectar and was able to hold a mattress for me and have it delivered within a couple days. Keep in mind all other stores (retail and online) were quoting me 2-3 weeks on average. To top it off, sit n' sleeps price was $100 less than even Nectar's memorial-day sale price. I normally don't fall victim to "add-on" sales during a transaction but the rep was so good that I decided to take her up on the offer to add the Tencel mattress cover. I try to give a sales person the benefit of the doubt and would normally never write about a negative experience on Yelp because I don't think a business should suffer because of one bad experience but I feel it is also important to warn folks so you can decide for yourself or maybe ask to work with a different sales person. I'm specifically speaking to my experience with Sherry and discovering that my boyfriend shared that at the end before leaving, she was rolling her eyes as I was asking questions or trying to defend why I needed certain qualities in a mattress for a solid night's sleep due to being a bit sleep deprived in a bed that is way too firm and creates pressure points as well as my partner who works quite a bit and my feeling every time he gets in and out of bed which also wakes me up. I knew that a "split" aka two twin XL beds may be the best option for obvious reasons (different preferences between partner and won't feel partner moving) but Sherry deterred us sharing that she was not a fan of the split. When I asked why, she did not fully ever explain. As a result, I did my very best to compromise on my needs so as to accommodate her preference and my partner's preference for one King size mattress. This was going to take more time as we navigated a few options. As I tried a few options, I'd share feedback or questions and each time I felt myself become increasingly frustrated as Sherry is dominating the conversation and even cutting me off as I'm talking so she could share her preferences for what we *should* be buying, despite my resistance. Long story short, I eventually gave in to her preference for us, (thank God, our credit needed some verification so we didn't get) and as we were leaving the store and near the exit, I laid down on a much more expensive bed at almost $6k, Tempurpedic, and fell immediately in love with how soft it was. I share from across the store and Sherry makes it known that this highly respected brand that I later discovered is literally known for eliminating "motion transfer" is going to be awful for us and says "you're always going to feel him moving." What!? Ultimately, we left more confused and frustrated and found out after doing some research online that the bed she was recommending was a "bed in a box" that comes rolled up and could be bought direct from manufacturer for less. Ended up going somewhere else where someone would *listen to both of us* and purchased a more expensive $6500 split king Tempurpedic "Luxe Adapt soft" for me and Luxe Breeze soft for him. The ones she didn't want to sell us. I'll chalk this experience up to her maybe receiving a bigger commission on that brand she kept pushing us towards since I can't figure out why a sales person wouldn't want you to spend more money. A business should listen to the customer vs dominate them with what they want them to buy, period. read more
