So happy Sita's Kitchen has opened up restaurant services in Trinidad, Colorado. We road trip to Santa Fe more than twice a year, and there hasn't been a vegan friendly/clean eating type of restaurant within the 400 mile stretch, for years, until now. They offer hot soups that change daily, kitchadi, legume based sliders, quesadillas, sandwiches, warm super food bowls with vegan proteins like Quinoa and Chickpeas, salads, breakfast bowls, pastries, nut and seed energy bites, smoothies, coffee, chai, Kombhucha, and more. They have children-friendly items, 50% of their menu is gluten free, most of their products are organic, and they source their produce from local farms. They will also substitute gluten-free bread upon request. The staff is so kind; obviously a reflection of their compassionate food business model. They were all smiles and greatly accommodating towards food allergens like soy and gluten. However, the best news for those of us with food sensitivities is, not only is their food of the highest quality, but also very tasty. I consider myself a foodie, and I still can't figure out how they made their falafel balls taste so good. Their Morroccan vegetable chickpea soup was fresh, and the sweet and savory aroma of their spices filled the restaurant. You could taste the freshness and the wholeness of their produce. Extremely disappointed and feel looted by this owner. He made us take filtered water when we wanted none, and had charged $4 for each glass! Seriously, did he use alkaline spring water from Iceland or what? 8$ extra just for water, all because we stepped in to try some vegan food? The ice added was definitely not good, I xchanged for no ice bur my husband is still coughing! I could have gotten some fruit juice for less! The falafel sandwich I ordered was so dry, I asked for some sauce, and he again billed us for that!! For some $12+ I paid for that sandwich, there is not even some ketch up for the chips given? I hesitated to ask as I was sure he would have again billed me for that. Totally understand these are troubling times for business owners, we leave a generous tip regardless but the rest of us struggle to earn too, and this is not the way to make extra money, highly disappointed & though we are in the area now we will not return again. read more

A wonderful place to eat or grab something to go. My husband is definitely NOT vegan, but he accompanied my friend and me to Sita's anyway. He ordered the black bean burger and absolutely loved it. He said it was better than a lot of "real" hamburgers. My friend and I got the falafel. It was great too. However I've never had falafel before, so I have nothing to compare it to. My favorite restaurant here in Trinidad Colorado 'Where the weed is legal and the mountains are high'. I'm not strictly vegan by any means and Trinidad has some really good restaurants, but Sita's is tops to me. It feels so good to eat a great meal and know you're eating healthy too. This place is AMAZING!! Traveling to Denver and expected to have to try and salvage some gas station food. I spoke with the owner on the phone: he talked to me for a long time, recommending what to get with my many food intolerances. And giving suggestions for the rest of the fam. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Especially me. I think the price for the quantity and quality was fair! All the food was organic and the quality was noticeable. Was really excited to try this place as I recently had seen it. Sadly really disappointed from the get go. Was not greeted when we walked in and not being familiar I didn't know if I was to sit ourselves, wait or walk up to the counter?... When we walked in there wasn't an indication of the restaurant other than 1 pie sitting in the pastry fridge next to the register. Opted to walk up, again, not familiar I inquired about the food and the girl working was VERY snarky and short with her answers (my son told me after we left that she rolled her eyes to her coworker). I didn't ask anything out of the ordinary, nor was I rude. Almost walked out at that point (should have) but I was still eager of the possibilities that this could be a regular spot for me as the food is right up my alley and I love supporting small local businesses. Felt rather odd and uncomfortable because you need to read over the menu up at the counter (maybe due to COVID, therefore understood) so therefore I rushed and ordered something quickly (my fault -my anxiety kicked in-). My son and I thanked the girl delivering (rather slamming) our food and not a "welcome, nothing" just turned and left. The veggies were wilted, however the hummus was good as well as the other items we ordered. I can see how this place can have potential, but the lack of common courtesy is a NO for me! I could say she was having a bad day perhaps, but honestly she seemed really pleasant with everyone else. My boyfriend and I stopped here on Feb 17th while we were in town for a getaway. Friendly staff and good looking menu. We both ordered a Golden Milk with coffee added to it and the bill came out to over $15. Since I am in the food service industry, I tipped a customary 20%. So two beverages plus tip was over $18. Insane. Especially considering they were quite busy at the time and we waited almost thirty minutes for our beverages. I spilled a little on the table and went to get a napkin from an empty box. The guy said something about getting some. Several minutes later, he brings out a stack and doesn't even give one to me as he passes me. I would never recommend this place. Traveling on our way to Denver from Albuquerque we called Sita's Kitchen knowing they'd probably be closed before we got there but Alex answered the phone and said, "tell you what, I'll text over pictures of the menu and we'll have it ready for you when you get here to take it to go". Alex texted the menus, we ordered and then Alex texted back saying feel free to sit and eat when you get here even though we are technically closed. We showed up, they made us feel super welcome and served us our order upon walking through the door. Bliss Bowl & Falafel Flat Bread Sandwich. OMG! They'd already won me over with there kindness and service but holy cow is their food delicious! I even talked them into make me a second Falafel Sandwich it was so good. We stop through Trinidad often for gas and coffee. Now we will add delicious vegan food to our Trinidad Tradition. I can not image driving through Trinidad without stopping at this fabulous establishment. Please support, we need more places like this in the world! read more

Delicious and great quality food! It's so hard to find good, whole foods when traveling, and we were so glad to find Sita's. I had the big hummus dips (gluten free option is a good quality corn chip) with veg. It was a great variety of organic, local veg: celery, radishes, the best cucumbers I've ever had, and more. I also had the hemp milk with greens/berries + a couple mix ins and it was tasty and just felt like I was doing my body such a favor. Husband had falafel sandwich with cashew cream spread, which was delicious. My husband said the falafel was excellent. The service was great. They didn't complain when I forgot to tell them a couple minutes after we placed our order that I wanted the gluten free option. Everything was presented nicely and the prices were very fair. Absolutely AMAZING! This place was a life saver for us as we were traveling from Texas to Colorado and could not find any vegan places or even places that offered anything for vegans. Then we stumbled upon this new place and we were so happy we did! Even before we walked in, we could feel the warm ambience and positive energy flowing from the doors. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with calm music floating throughout the air. We were immediately greeted by Alex who made the experience even more positive. My husband and I ordered the tofu scramble and the daily special vegetable soup and both were spectacular! Everything is made from scratch and fresh and it definitely tastes that way. We've had a lot of tofu scramble but this one was unique in its own way and tasted incredible. We love the accompaniments and especially the water! It's so nice to have a vegan place that doesn't overlook the importance of having good clean water as a base for everything else. Check this place out! You won't regret it!! read more

WOW!! This place is amazing! We had the jackfruit tacos which was by far the BEST jackfruit we've ever had on the homemade flatbread- the combo of these 2 was so delicious! I'm a professional traveler. And a 6 year vegan. And for years I have looked for a good place between Denver and Albuquerque to stop for healthy delicious food. FINALLY IT EXISTS. Sita's Kitchen was such a delightful find today on the road home. We were getting hungry around Springer NM, and striking out. Then My partner announced he was going to yelp vegan food in the area. (A search we've done SO MANY TIMES with the same results). Lo and behold there was a new option! We called- seeing that they closed at 4pm. We were 45 minutes away- ETA 3:55pm. Alex, who answered the phone said "I'll text you the menus. And you can let us know what you want, and we'll have it waiting for you when you arrive!" Wow. We got the famous falafel sandwich and the bliss bowl. Both were wonderful. Real food- deliciously prepared. I can't wait to go back and try more things! Terrific food. Terrific people. Go here. You do not need to be vegan in order to appreciate Sita's. This is beautiful food, fresh and flavorful, made with sophistication and served in comfort. I didn't like the vibe in there . the guy that runs this place is not cool . He is not friendly . he actually tried to make me pay for something that I decided that I did not want. I had not touched it or anything .he tried to make a big deal about it which is odd because it was not a cooked item . he said that I already signed electronically . I was tired when I went in there . what a jerk to say that I signed ! I said to him . that is NOT my signature . it's not even a signature . It was one small line that looked nothing at all like any kind of signature . I am sure he knew that I would contest that ,which is why he just canceled it .but He had a very ugly attitude about it . He just put the items back in the case ,which is what he could have done to begin with . there was no photos of food items and food was kinda pricey so I didn't eat anything that had to be made . I did eat something there though and it was not anything special . Waste of money. read more
