Good variety of rock etc., but customer service is not their thing for sure. I loaded medium size river rock into 2 boxes and all I needed was help lifting 2 boxes into truck. Went to the office (2 men behind counter) And asked for help. Worker said just go get one of the guys outside. OK. I drove right up next to one worker who was busy on his phone in the forklift and mouthed and pointed to "my rocks". Nobody came and in my opinion he took off and drove to the "back 40" to hide. Waited 5 minutes--- nobody. Went back to office and was then told, " we're not supposed to help, but I'll call somebody". 2 guys finally come over, one in forklift. They proceeded to pick up 2 boxes by hand and put in truck. All of 2 min. No equipment needed even. As I was leaving I saw a worker on forklift w/ a pallet and 3 Medium sized decorative rocks on it. He was putting them into the MALE customer's trunk. I could have lifted each one prob 10# ea. HELLO!!!! Oh, did I mention I'm a gray haired 60 something FEMALE? Bought some pavers. First they sold me based on their calculation for Random design. When I installed all the pavers using exact same design in book, I ended up lot of left over of smaller pieces and short for medium size pieces. I went back to store ask them to exchange and they told me NO RETURNS for pavers. Really, they never told this to me while buying nor it's return anywhere in bill or in store. I had no option but to buy more missing sizes from them and ended up lots of un used pavers, I don't know what to do with that. read more

This place is absolutely fabulous it has so many different types of rock gravel mulch bark. The price here is pennies on the dollar compared to buying it by the bag at Home Depot or Lowe's, they offered me $52 a yard which is 2 inches high covering 150 ft.² for $52 as opposed to paying one dollar per square foot when you buy it in the bag and that's on sale. U-save stands for U-SAVE NO MONEY BY GOING HERE. I recently needed some extra materials for pavers & chose this place because it was closer to my house than the place I went to before. BIG mistake. Heres why: #1 - They charged WAY more than Kobold. #2 - They lied to me over the phone about the price. I would have chalked this up to a mistake or small oversight...BUT: #3 - The worker wasn't very nice and kept trying to sell me a full ton when I only needed half. Come to find out AFTER they loaded it onto my truck, they charged me for 3/4 yard rather than 1/2 after I specifically told them more than 2 times that I only wanted 1/2 yard. Now I am left wondering if that was done on purpose to squeeze every ounce of money they could out of me. I left feeling like I was at a used car lot with some sleezy salesmen. I ended up paying ~$50 versus ~$25...I originally chose this place to save money since Kobold is further from my house, but ended up paying over TWICE AS MUCH! How can they call themselves "U-Save" when their prices are higher than competitors? The only reason I gave another star is because I got my materials. Trust me I'd rather give 1 star. Went to Clarks to pick up rock and some cement for the backyard. Very reasonable prices and the staff was very knowledgeable in their materials. Most big box locations never have anyone to speak to or ask questions, but Clarks had answers to all my questions and I was in and out of there within 20 minutes. BE AWARE!!!! We came here to inquire about sod and they gave us a quote and told us we had to order by Thursday to have it delivered by Saturday of the same week. If we ordered sooner we would get the delivery a lot sooner on the day we wanted. So we went to order the sod on Tuesday for a Saturday delivery of the same week. We asked if we could get the sod first thing in the morning and they told us that they didn't have the schedule but to call back Wednesday. We called back Wednesday and they had no time frame told us to call back Thursday, we called Thursday and they had the same response nothing, but to call back Friday! We called Friday and they said the delivery would be between 11am-1pm. It's now past 1pm so we called them multiple times and no one had any answers for us, would hang up the phone on us, said that they don't have the grass they order it through another company and that company delivers directly to us. That was never told to us when we placed the order and if that was the case why wouldn't we just go directly to the source. We called back and told them that we are so disappointed with the quality of service and just wanted a refund and they told us they couldn't do anything about it until Monday! We are paying workers and went and rented a roller through Home Depot for NOTHING! All a waist of money. I will be sure to file all and any complaints necessary about this place. It's a JOKE! We changed the landscape in our front yard to drought tolerant. We purchased new top soil and several different styles and types of rocks from here. They delivered the to soul and rocks for the dry river. We also purchased bags of rocks. Everyone at Clark's was really helpful. We've gone back many times and will continue to do so. I'm a rookie with landscaping and the such, so take it for what its worth. A big selection of rocks, sand, gravel, etc. I was looking to make bonsai soil, so I anticipated having to ask quite a few questions. One of the guys in the main building helped me right off and pointed me in the direction of some rocks I wanted to check out. While wandering around, a guy who spoke broken English helped me look through some of the different types (which was really helpful when the bags are covered in dust and I don't want to tear open the bags. Pro-tip: If a bag is dirty and hard to see into, flip it over. All of the bags that we did this with were much easier to see). When I asked another employee about fired clay, he repeatedly pointed me to another product. Big selection (I think), pretty helpful, good prices PS: They are on the right as soon as you enter the driveway that leads to multiple businesses. read more

If you go in morning the guy sitting in counter is grumpy...But if you go in afternoon and you see martin , he is very nice guy. Helps you with whatever you want and always has a smile on his face. Had 12 tons of 1.5" Noia rock delivered. Pleasant and helpful people to work with ordering the rock, on-time delivery. Guessing about a quarter ton of dirt & fine gravel in the rock...did't expect them to run it though the washing machine but there's a disproportionately large amount dirt when we're putting this down on weed fabric for a landscape project. Service is very good, pricing on par with others, quality is fair. read more

I have been working with Clark's for a lot of years but I think I'm done with them. There is a very rude lady there, I went to drop off some broken concrete and she like doubled the cost. I was plannng on ordering sod and picking up some planter mix but not now. It wasn't the cost the pissed me off as much but the attitude about it. As if she was the only place in town so take it or leave it.. I dropped of twice as much the day before fo half the cost. They need to replace her with some one with better customer service experience. read more

This is the second time I have gone there. The first time I ordered a ton of 2x4 rocks for my front yard. The delivery guy was right on time, but had 4x8 rocks, so had to go back, dump that load and pick up the right size to bring back. This time I just bought a bag of 3/4x1 for my parking strip. I thought I could bag my own, but was told that they bag it for you now. I thought that was great. I had to park in a huge puddle while they bagged it and put it in the back of my car, so didn't get out to check it. When I got home it was the next size larger! I dumped it out and spread it out, and next time I'm going to Lyngso where I can bag my own and get it right. I figure I can spread it all out and mix it together so it doesn't look too funny. read more

Sorry but we went here a few times. First person that helped us the other day on sunday was rude, had a grumpy attitude because we wanted to get some rocks for our side yard but we didnt know how much we needed. I drive a cooper so we knew it wasnt a lot that can fit but my cooper can handle lots of weight in it. The guy that helped us annoyed me so much. He was so rude and talked to us like we were stupid. SHITTING CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! It was hard to even find someone to help us because they would ignore us. I think we got ripped off because my mom went there today bought the same thing and it was cheaper? What?????? ALSO THE GUY THAT HELPED HER YELLED AT MY MOM (he didnt know much english) but it seems like whenever you ask for help or something they get mad??? YOU WORK HERE YOU HELP US. The one star goes to their rocks since they do have a lot of different kinds and what not but the workers here need to learn english and need to learn how to give excellent customer service we get your job is heavy work load but come on..... read more

Worst experience in the east bay by far! Just bought a house - wanted to do some gardening and planting in the raised beds. We went to Clark's and got told what to buy - plus we selected a couple boulders for the front yard. We were told two different prices (per pound) for the rocks, they called later in the day with a third number after weighing the rocks and when it came time for delivery we were told a fourth price - .8 then .9 then .12 then .22!! When we selected the rocks I even photographed them to show the salesman so he could quote me a proper price - why the women on the phone felt we would be OK with .22 after being told it was .9 is crazy. But wait there is more - they promised a delivery between 10-12 on Wednesday (five days from the time we were there) and when we called at 12 on wednesday to ask when they might show up they said they were just starting to fill the order...and oh yeah the price has gone up. We canceled the order - checked with the credit card - which had been charged on time - and canceled the order completely. Terrible customer service - they blamed us for not knowing what we were buying....I know not to buy from them - and suggest you don't either. read more
