This is an extremely rude company with horrible customer service. I wish I could have given them zero stars. Norma in the office is extremely unprofessional, and Eddie who acts like a supervisor but probably isn't was even more rude and condescending. From the very first interaction when I walked in, they made me feel like I don't understand anything. When I asked a simple question, it was met with a rude smirk and "it is what it says it is". I was there to place a large order but there was absolutely no way that I would have done it after this experience. They speak to customers as if they're doing you a favor, even though you're the one giving them business. When I questioned their rudeness, they just shrugged and made fun of me Completely unacceptable and something I have not seen anywhere else. Do not do business with this company. This is a huge place with large selections of rocks, pebbles, sand filler, bark, etc. When you do come be ready to have a good idea of what you need to buy and how much product they have in stock. We bought 7, 50 lb. bags of polished red river rock. We later found out we needed 4 more bags, so we returned to buy some more rocks only to be told that they were no longer stocking that particular item. My contractor is leaving for a vacation in Europe for a month, so I needed some decomposing granite rock (DG) quick/fast. Called this company up. Answered the phones quickly, knew what I needed and how much based on my cubic yard estimate (they converted to tons for me), and BAM, BOOM, DONE - order was placed on Wednesday, Thursday was a holiday, and it was delivered late Friday morning as promised. The driver was friendly, professional, and worked the truck through the tight street like nothing and dumped the DG in the sweet spot of my driveway. Friendly, efficient service and a great selection of river rocks for garden landscape. The prices are very reasonable for as many river rocks as you can fit into one large bag. I ordered pavers from them. They charged me a $900 delivery fee to pick up the pavers from the manufacturer. Their flatbed truck broke down before delivering my final load and currently causing a 2 week+ delay to my project. They are unable to provide an ETA on when the truck will get fixed & materials delivered. They are unable to provide a refund or any sort of meaningful compensation (offered 5% off my next order) for the troubles. Through this process, I learned that TriCity Rock gets very few paver orders, so it's no wonder that their truck isn't well maintained and they don't have a good contingency plan. Don't order pavers from them. Update 6/19: I ended up having my own contractor drive down to San Martin to pick up the remaining loads, and they did return $300 of the $900 delivery fee, which I ended up paying to my contractor. However, they did not give me a time extension on returning the empty pallets for the $35/pallet deposit refund (2 days remaining as of this update). When I pointed out that they were the ones that delayed my project by 2+ weeks, they had the audacity to blame me for "taking forever" (their words, not mine) to decide to have my own contractor pick them up! Further, they said I had to be there in person when my contractor returned the pallets for the refund. It's like they're doing everything they can to make my life difficult and con me out of as much money as possible because it's their "policy". I have not dealt with a business that has such bad customer service in a long time. read more

While we are no longer in a lockdown and masks are now optional, I feel that her shirt is rather insensitive to all the people whose lives were affected by the pandemic which was even made worse by people with her attitude. 4 stars because of the price. It's pretty simple to shop here, you can go to the front desk and tell them what you want. In my case, I wanted the 8" noiya rocks for landscaping. I was given a bag to fill up myself at the front desk, walked over to the Bin #16 and filled up. Once I was done, walked back to the front desk and paid $7. Then I drove over to the bag and one of the service guy helped me load it into my car. Pretty simple!! See photos for stone/rock/particle cost and to see how far one bag of 8" noiya stones would cover a 3'x8' street pavement planter. Way better than Home Depot!! For example, a bag of 2" pebble-stones would cost me about $15-20. But for 3 times that size, it would cost me $7. read more

Poor customer service. I had a time set for delivery 9-11, then they call me on day of delivery to say it was going to be more like 12. I called 12:15 and the lady who picked the phone said they left but there is traffic in the area. I believed her. I checked the traffic and there was no traffic at all on every single highway. I called again and I said there is no traffic. Why are they not here she said we say 12-2 and no we didn't . They called me earlier and said.morw like 12. Asked man on blue machine to help me with rocks, seemed a little off and while he jumps back on, a small alcohol bottle drops from his pocket, we both noticed and laughed it off, few minutes later I hear a bang, look up and a new plant being built it looks like, he smacked the corner hard. Great place. You can take free samples home in zip lock bags so you can see if the rocks will work with your landscape. Staff (lady at the front) is very nice and helpful. My only wish was they have more selection but they seem to get a lot of business and it's a good place to go for common rock styles. I forgot to mention they also carry mulch which was a nice surprise. Robert walked outisde with us and was full of information of what was ideal for what we were looking for. We never felt rushed or unappreciated. I'm pretty sure they have to take a class or attend some sort of "give zero fcks" seminar to come across so disinterested. If you've done the proper research, know exactly what you need, know how much of it you need, and are prepared to haul it yourself then this place is a great resource. Topsoil review only! Customer service: 5 stars Speed of delivery: 5 stars (they scheduled to deliver the next day! Quality of top soil: 3.5 stars. I was a bit disappointed that the topsoil wasn't as good as the one in Marin. It had bits of concrete, a bigger chunk of concrete, twigs, and a small piece of lumber. Also, there's quite a few big chunks of packed dirt. I guess I'm use to seeing the topsoil that's been screened and no other debris. Do not order concrete from this place they will short you the amount thats poured into their trucks it happened to both batches that we ordered. Will never deal with this company again.
