The building was a former Ford auto plant, which gave them plenty of room to work with. The mall opened in 1994. It's primarily an outlet mall, but they have lots of other retailers as well. They have a Dick's Sporting Goods, they have a Home Depot across the parking lot , for clothes, they have Marshalls, Kohl's, Burlington, Old Navy and lots of others. They even have a furniture store They have stores ranging from bargain to luxury . They have restaurants ranging from Dave and Buster's, to Burger King to Popeyes to Jollibee, as well as food and snacks in all different. Nationalities. If you can't find something to eat here, you are not hungry. They have a movie theater with 20 screens, other play places, and . They even have a "cattery.". With roughly 200 stores, if you can't find what you are looking for here, you aren't looking hard enough. Of course, the stores do change from time to time. This is what was there when I was there..... The mall is in a giant circle, so it makes it very hard to get lost. Just keep walking, and you will come back to the door that you came in. The place can get busy, especially during the holidays. I was there on a Sunday, with a lot of people there, but again the size made the crowds much more manageable. I found what I went in for and left but overall very nice store and I can definitely spend a lot of time in if giving the chance to but I was in a rush. I honestly prefer an outlet chain of Nike only because of the value we can all get in outlets but this place is good if you can afford full price.

Westgate Mall is a bit of a tale of two malls. The outlet stores are the reason I keep coming back…read more-- Nike, Old Navy, Gap, and Nordstrom Rack are all solid, and they're connected to the inside of the mall. There's also a Target and Ross, which are convenient anchors. But beyond that, the inside of the mall is pretty much dead -- lots of empty storefronts and barely anyone walking around. The food court is limited: a boba shop, a burger place, an Indian restaurant, and King Eggroll. The recently opened T&T Supermarket has definitely brought in traffic, but since it's not connected to the inside of the mall, it doesn't help revive the interior. Same goes for the stores on the outskirts of the plaza like Sephora, T-Mobile, and others -- good to have nearby, but they don't feed foot traffic inside. To be fair, the mall itself is in decent shape -- it could use a remodel, but it's clean and maintained. What it really needs is more quality restaurants that connect to the interior to give people a reason to actually walk through. Parking is great and easy, which makes quick outlet runs painless. I'll keep coming for the outlets, but I'd love to see the inside come back to life.

Was it inability to count restaurant capacity and correspond to number of cars or was it putting in housing that requires two incomes but only provides one parking spot so all the residents use the retail parking? Either way, they lose my potential business over and over again. Side note: if you you can get parking, seating in the restaurants has never been a problem. So until the restaurants complain, where's the incentive for Irvine company to change anything?

I am at Palo Alto today for appointment…read more Took the opportunity to visit the shopping center near by . It has this " Discover our garden walk " poster and many beautiful flowers to explore. I have enclosed the photos of different. They are beautiful and lovely . There are huge parking lots around the shops , free Wi Fi and public restrooms. In the morning it is quiet , many coffee shops and breakfast places are open . The sky is blue and the sun is not too much at 9 am . We got some nice breeze and 65 F outside . It is perfect . Enjoy the garden walk and the plants and landscape are lovely.

We have some friends who frequently come here to shop and walk around enjoying the beautiful flowers, sculptures, & water fountains. The center is "Anchored by major department stores like Nordstrom, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, and Bloomingdale's. Also luxury brands like Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Shreveport & Co., Tiffany and popular retailers like Apple, Lululemon, and Kate Spade." Personally, we've dined at Fleming's Steak House, The Melt, McDonald's, True Food Kitchen, and recently Pacific Catch. They recently added a new section which is always fun to see.
