Drop-off was just as easy; I just told them where I parked the car. I didn't pay anything for the use of the car that day, but I did check the rates since the experience was so pleasant. For the Indy area, the rates were comparable, if not a little lower, than the competition. I used the rental location on the North Side of Indianapolis, which seems to be their thing with other locations at the airport and Fishers as well. The bottom line here is that I will use Sixt again. .

This means if your car breaks down, you cannot exchange it for a working one at any Hertz location (like you could when Hertz owned the Indy locations). Also, the tolling equipment -- if used -- charges you $4.95 per day even if you don't use the toll booth. Read your contract. This location is open Sunday -- a plus. All the cars are new--another plus. However, renting outside Marion County avoids the 17% tax. Still, renting here avoids the airport fees. Had a nice Toyota Versa.

It was quite dirty, sparse, and generally unkempt. The counter agent wasn't especially professional and appeared to also serve as the on-site mechanic. Their system felt outdated, as all paperwork that required a signature, including the receipt was printed rather than an option for email, resulting in a very lengthy receipt (Walgreens style!). That said, my rental car itself was clean and performed well with no issues. While the vehicle met my needs, the overall rental experience would lead me to other options in the future.
