I have been to the Boca mall a million times and never have given this place a second thought. I received a gift card and decided to pop in for lunch. WOW. They do have a dress code, however I noticed it wasn't strictly enforced for lunch luckily for me who popped in before a shopping trip. The staff was all incredibly friendly. Every single person I encountered smiled and gave a polite greeting, making me feel warm and welcome. The menu itself was small but I had a difficult time choosing what to get because everything looked incredible. The food was carefully crafted with bold flavors!!! Even the cocktail menu was impressive. I ended up opting for the rib eye sandwich. This was literally a GIANT, juicy rib eye steak on a fresh baguette topped with cheese and onions. It was absolutely amazing. The truffle fries on the side were crispy and phenomenal. My meal was perfect. I would order this again in a heartbeat!!! My husband got the chicken sandwich and his meal was equally gargantuan. While we did visit for lunch, I do believe this would be a lovely place for dinner. My daughter took me here for my birthday a few days ago. I haven't eaten at a Capital Grille on ages. I wanted to come here because I remember I enjoyed my experience thr last time. As far as ambiance, it feels stuffy to me. We did have a very nice server named Mason. I was going to get a small salad but none of them appealed to me. I ordered the q0 ounce filet mignon with mashed potatoes. Ad stated on the menu, they are made simply. I liked them a lot. I also enjoyed my steak. The bad part was my meal along with my daughter's burger was not really even warm. This food must have been sitting around a while. This should not happen at this type of restaurant or really any restaurant. When the food came back, I did enjoy it. The restaurant gave me a nice dessert platter. It was espresso chocolate cake with cheesecake. There was also fresh whipped cream. I loved the cheesecake and ate most of that and some of the chocolate cake. This is really 3.5 stars but the service from the hostesses to our nice server, Mason. It is odd, but I can't remember if I ever ate at a Capital Grille before yesterday. I don't think I had. I made a reservation and indicated this dinner would be for my Mom's birthday. They put some confetti and a card on the table which was very nice. Originally we ordered tap water but it tasted bad. So, we ordered a bottle of Acqua Panna water. I was surprised how bad the tap water was. The bread was interesting. They gave a lot of flatbread/matzo type of thing. The brown bread with cranberries was pretty good. The other bread was ok. I really only liked the dark bread. I usually love all bread. Anyway, I ordered the signature cheeseburger with shallot aioli on the side and parmesan truffle fries. The fries were served hot but my burger wasn't even warm. Same with Mom's filet mignon and mashed potatoes. We were asked if we wanted the food heated up so of course we said yes. Her mashed potatoes came back the same barely warm temperature. Her steak was pretty hot now. I took a bite of both and the potatoes are ok. I feel like I can make them better which isn't saying much! The steak was high quality but had no flavor. Luckily she liked it. My burger was good once heated up. The fries were good. They had just the right amount of truffle which was good because I like.truffle, I don't love it. Mason brought a nice dessert platter. It had a mini cheesecake and the flour less espresso chocolate cake. Both were good. I definitely didn't expect to like the espresso cake sinceI am not a fan of coffee. There was a pretty fresh flower arrangement in the bathroom. That is appreciated. I was annoyed most of our food came out not hot. I appreciate the nice service but I will not come back. There are too many better restaurants in my opinion. I actually felt bad because this was a birthday meal and it just didn't measure up. How and why would they serve food that had to have been sitting around? Bring the food out when it is ready. I came here with my cousin to celebrate her birthday. Im usually a Ruth Chris kind of girl. I was SOOOO pleasantly surprised by a dessert that I love and is rarely made to my liking. This was my first time experience at The Capital Grille. Located in the city of Boca Raton and it is an American restaurant chain. It's an upscale steakhouse owned by the Darden brand. It was definitely an elegant and elite restaurant experience. I had the Chef recommendation which was the Kona Crusted Dry Aged Bone-In NY Strip with Shallot butter. It had a signature Hawaiian Kona coffee rub on the outside and the cuts are carved on premises. The flavor was so unique and delicious plus grilled to perfection. The interior decor was elegant with dim lighting that created a relaxing atmosphere. The service was superb. Everything was brought out hot and fresh. It did take awhile for the food to come out which gave me a chance to enjoy every sip of the wine even more. If course the prices are up there. À la carte items are served for the table which are a larger portion. Hopefully I will back soon to enjoy another nice meal. read more

Instead, when we arrived, the two of us were whisked away in front of the bar towards the front of the restaurant. It was so quiet back there, such a contrast to the bustling restaurant. Stopped in for their Waygu and Wine promotion. Their burgers have always been good, I also like their Capital Burger spinoff in Boston. I had the Wagyu Blue Cheese and Black Truffle Burger with Cabernet Onions, served with French Fries. The wine I selected was a Cabernet from Orin Swift called Palermo. The burger was very good, fries just ok... here, Sam's Mashed is my favorite potato dish. Started with a perfectly made and excellent Margarita. While the Burgers are very good.. and a good promo, I prefer their main menu with Crab, Steaks, Lamb Chops, Sides, etc. Planned a real dinner here, so stay tuned. Great time and good company! I'd always heard about the steaks at The Capital Grille and finally tried them and they did not disappoint. Stopped in for lunch with a couple of drinks (homemade grapefruit soda and lemonade were both excellent). The bread came out warm and fresh. We ordered the filet mignon and the dry-aged NY strip , both cooked perfectly medium, good and balanced seasoning .The sides were creamy mashed potatoes and truffle fries. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and delicious. Service was excellent, attentive and right on time. Finished with an espresso and a cheesecake with fresh fruit, which was a perfect ending. The vibe is elegant yet comfortable, with classic décor, paintings, and a warm atmosphere. Definitely a place worth coming back to! The food was superb as we have found in other Capital Grilles; actually it couldn't be better. On the other hand, the service was very disappointing. On the positive side...for a starter, I had the calamari. It was prepared in a unique way with sweet peppers & the proper amount of crisp. Perfect . The wedge salad was spot-on. The bacon topping was very unique: meaty without fat and just the proper amount of dressing. The filet was cooked to perfection and tender. The best. For dessert, the lemon coconut (can't recall the name) was delightful! Now the service.... We pointed out to each other at the onset that the service was superb, but found that the server's great personality was what seemed to fool us. He turned out to be a bumpkin. When you pay a premium for food, one expects premium service. The server made a few unfortunate errors. - first, he was replacing an empty glass of iced tea and spilled the FULL glass onto my wife's blouse and dress shorts...a complete full glass! Ok, things happen, but it took what seemed too long for him to return with cloth napkins to soak it up. There was just too much mess, so a few minutes later we asked for another table. We were accommodated. Unbelievably, no manager came by to apologize. - we asked for more bread before the salads came out. The server related he would bring some. Bus-sers brought the salads, but no bread. We thought that the waiter would be bringing it, but it never came. We ate our salads without bread & reminded the waiter of this. What would we have done if my wife's clothes were ruined? There was no report as no manager came. Fortunately, the cleaner was able to get the stains out. She was soaked though. This was a terrific restaurant and great staff. The food was astronomically good and the waiter was super attentive even though we went on the eve of Valentines Day. We sat in the front room just beyond the bar where it was quieter and more intimate. The bar area was insane, but that little corner really made the difference. We gorged ourselves on the crab lump meat cocktail, wagyu filet and South African lobster, and cheesecake, along with a bottle of wine. It was all so good. The lobby was packed with patrons but we got seated immediately in a small booth in the bar area. They have two overhead TVs and the football games were being viewed. It was a fun and lively crowd. What could be better than watching football with like-minded people while eating and drinking fabulous food? I believe Tammi was our waitress. She was extremely attentive and professional. What a great early dinner we had. We sat at the bar and were served by the fabulously attentive, Elias. He makes a mean house special Stoli-Doli and an impressive Baileys Espresso Martini. We knew we were off to a great start. We ordered the Caesar salad and split it in two. It's HUGE! we the. Had our main courses. I had the filet with mushrooms and fig glaze (it comes with onions but I ordered without). It was amazing. What a lovely combination of flavors to combine with a perfectly cooked and sliced fillet. This has become a go to for me. That steak melted like butter and I highly recommend. I will be thinking of that brilliant fig glaze for days. My hubby had the veal chop with Marsala. This thing was huge and also cooked to perfection. It was perfectly seasoned and my hubby ended up picking up the chop by the bone to make sure he got it all (not typical behavior for him but it was THAT good). We also ordered a side of lobster Mac n cheese. Just get it and thank me later. We've been to quite a few Capital Grille locations and the Boca Raton location holds itself to a higher standard than any other Capital Grille I have been to when it comes to service, ambiance and food. This location has restored my faith and we will be back again and again. For dessert, the coconut cream pie. Yeah, yeah, they are famous for their cheesecake. I challenge the cheesecake myth bc I don't like coconut and had three spoonfuls of this gorgeous and delectable pie. I'd give this place 3.5 stars. Service was very good. For dinner, Started with the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella...delicious! Calamari was good. Mixed green salad was fine although lacking in tomatoes and such. For my main, I had the tenderloin medallions and lobster tails. The lobster tails were small but delicious and cooked perfectly. The steak was unfortunately not good. The crust was burnt and the steak was cooked medium well rather than medium rare. The sides of the steak were dry and inedible. Should've sent them back. The sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus were both very good. The dessert, I just had a bite of the cheesecake, which was also very good. Overall, it was a good meal sans the steak, that should've been the hero, along with the lobster. It unfortunately ruined the meal for me. For side dishes, mashed potatoes looked super creamy and I'd think they were half butter. I stuck with the steamed spinach with garlic. Cooked perfectly and with a couple cloves of roasted garlic and butter, it was so delicious. For main, I tried to choose the least expensive steak on the menu and had the 14 ounce New York Strip. A delicious cut of meat, cooked precisely how I requested it. Flavorful, firm, perfect. Yes, you'll need the steak knife to cut it but you're not working hard here. Just an excellent piece of beef. We opted to skip dessert, but that's okay because we had the Birthday dessert, complete with candle. No, they didn't sing. But a small piece of chocolate torte and a small piece of cheesecake with some berries and whipped cream. I had the tiniest little bit of each. I was a regular at TCG until covid and had not been there for close to 3.5 years. When my husband and I returned in mid October 2023, we were surprised that some things had not changed (which was good), and other things had changed (for the worse). Nothing has changed about the vibe, which is steakhouse, dark, same artwork, and the same well trained, seasoned servers. The menu was basically the same as well, perhaps exactly the same. Not to our surprise, many of the servers we knew from years ago were no longer there. To our amazement, a server approached our table and said "gentlemen, it's been a long time, how have you been?" And it was Elizabeth, LIZ, who was one of the most seasoned professional servers. She had been our server over the years, and she then said "you like vodka martinis shaken very cold with olives on the side, right?" And we nodded our heads yes. "And you don't eat meat, right? And we again said yes, in amazement, that Liz remembered our drink and entree preferences after such a long absence. But in many ways, this is what makes TCG iconic and special: the service is outstanding, consistently outstanding, anticipatory in nature, professional in execution. You truly feel that your server cares about your enjoyment of the meal, and cares that you are there. What more could one want. We had two dirty gooses, and when Liz brought the first round, she advised that these were the last we could have because they had run out of Grey Goose Vodka. Hmm, I expressed out loud, someone clearly fell down in their game and did not order sufficient quantity of this vodka. How else could an establishment like TCG not have grey goose vodka? Our first example of a problem with management. We enjoyed our Grey Gooses, at $18 each, exceedingly well shaken, a full to the brim martini glass, with 3 stuffed olives on the side. We then shared their jumbo shrimp cocktail, 5 truly jumbo shrimp, served with their sauce. As we continued to eat the delicious cooked on site bread, using the sweet butter provided and dipping some of the bread in the jumbo shrimp cocktail sauce. Liz then presented the specials, announcing the scallops special. It was described as 5 jumbo scallops served over a bed of polenta, with mushrooms. She also remarked that they had not had scallops for years, apparently some problem with the distributor. We eagerly said "yes, we will share the scallops, can they be plated for two in the kitchen?" And Liz replied yes. The scallops came out and we were amazed. Beyond amazed. We each had 2.5 scallops served over a minuscule amount of polenta. We each looked at each other, and were speechless. We then committed our first mistake. We ate the scallops. We ate it slowly. We cut the scallop into tiny tiny pieces. But you know what, the quantity of the scallops did not increase, nor did the amount of polenta. Oh, we ordered a side of asparagus which was as we recalled - a large serving, prepared well, and well worth $13. We could have eaten two portions. We shared The Capitol Grille Cheesecake. It was divine. $13. Incredible. A second round of martinis made with Tito's Vodka. And then the check. We were flabbergasted when we saw that the scallops were $65! What? Did someone go crazy? Didn't anyone from management look at what was being served? Wow, this was incredible. We closed out the check, tipped Liz well for her professional and warm service. We then approached the hostess podium and I asked to see the managing partner, whose first name is BOBBY. I was told he was not on property, and I asked to see the MOD (manager on duty). Restaurants like TCG always have a shift manager who is basically responsible for the operations during rhat specific period of time. I showed ANDREW photos I had taken of the scallops, commented on their size and the overall amount of polenta. He smiled in that way that all gentleman within a corporate structure that TCG is part of (one of the fine dining establishes of Darden Restaurants) and replied that he would discuss it with the chef and get back to me.) I never heard from Andrew. And I never heard from Bobby, either. I found this rather perplexing, as I had, on the same visit, discussed preliminary arrangements for a private party in November which would have a minimum food and beverage billing of ~$5,000. So, thats the story and I'm sticking to it. Liz earns a 5* rating, and the scallops special entree and more importantly, management's utter failure to be responsive, earns 0*. See the pics. They don't accommodate the disabled. All the chairs are super hard and rounded, and difficult to sit for me. We tried 1 booth that worked, but they refused to give it to us. We understand the booth was reserved. So, we had to leave. However, if they had at least a few different chairs to try out, it would have worked. Plus, it was freezing inside, and I was wearing a shirt on top of a dress! The air conditioner was blowing into my neck and back. Food: I was able to try a cracker before I was rushed out, and the cracker was good. Forgot to mention that as we were rushed out of the dining area, the waiter mumbled that the booth we took was for working people who sit there... I've been to the Capital Grille in Miami and in Fort Lauderdale. This was my first time at the Capital Grille in Boca. As with the other Capital Grilles, this one too has superlative service, a relaxed gentlemen-like club with top-notch perfectly prepared foods. Not only are they are menus identical in every Capital Grille, but so is the food. Astonishingly not only in taste, texture, and flavor but in presentation appearance too. Their specialty is in meats and as I like my meats done Pittsburgh rare style, I've found Capital Grille to be one of the few restaurants that can consistently do a Pittsburgh-style rare steak to perfection. While my dear Beloved went for their delicious lobster bisque, I had their Caesar salad with Grana Padano croutons and white, not the out of the canned black, anchovies. For my entrée I had their Boneless Prime Ribeye, Pittsburgh rare-sided with their special "Sam's mashed potatoes," while Beloved had the Capital Grille Cheeseburger with sauteed onions and a side of truffle fries. My ribeye came perfectly prepared, precisely as ordered, and was obviously of a top-quality prime cut, full of flavor, and totally delicious. Beloved also raved about how deliciously good his cheeseburger tasted. Then for the Crème de Crème of desserts, we shared a Creme Brulée. Came by last night for our traditional Anniversary Dinner and once again TCG did not disappoint. The ambiance, service (Liz was amazing!) and the food is always on point. We started with the complimentary bread basket. The wifey and me shared a Wedge salad with the Blue Cheese dressing which is always fresh and tasty. For the Main Course the wifey had the Filet with Twin Lobster tails and I had the Bone in Rib Eye done to perfection. Dessert which was also complimentary was a combo of different desserts...deelish (look at the photo) Fellow YELPERS hands down this is the best Steakhouse in Boca and you should give it a try on your next special occasion! NOTE: This review is for the Wagyu and Wine promo that extends through Nov. 1, 2024. Full disclosure: I am a Capital Grille aficionado, and I love their promotions. I was there for Generous Pour in July (I go every year!) and I was looking forward to this year's edition of Waygu and Wine. The cost is $35 and includes choice of one of three Wagyu burgers (Vermont cheddar, onions and steak sauce, blue cheese and black truffle, or mushroom and swiss with a bunch of other things I'd never choose) and a choice of three wines (Duckhorn Cab or Merlot, or Migration Pinot Noir). You also get wonderfully crisp fries for the $35 tab (or, for $20 you can upgrade to an onion and caviar dip with house made chips). Let me just say that I don't like anything on my burger other cheese and catsup. My husband feels the same, so we both ordered the Wagyu burger with cheddar (they bring catsup on the side). I had the Migration Pinot Noir and he had the Duckhorn Cab. We sat at the bar (the Wagyu and Wine promo is available in the lounge only) because we adore the bartender, Elias. We started with 2 glasses of Chardonnay and chatted with Elias before we ordered our burgers and moved onto the reds. As always, the food was top if the line and the service from Elias and the food runner, was impeccable. There is no denying that Capital Grille is a little pricey. Personally, I feel it's worth it because I love the atmosphere and the quality of food and wine. But Wagyu and Wine is a great value and I heartily recommend it for anyone that wants a top notch burger and a big pour of wine not typically found by the glass. But get there before November 1, when the promotions ends. read more

We chose Capital Grill to celebrate our anniversary. Little did we know that they would have a power failure and no hot food could be made. We ordered lots of cold appetizers and soup. It was more than filling. We enjoyed the anniversary dessert they provided. read more

My family enjoys coming to Capital Grille for special occasions. We usually go to the Palm Beach location. My daughter and her wife went to celebrate a birthday at the Boca Raton location. I was called right after dinner to hear of the poor treatment they received from the waitress. When serving in a restaurant or any place of employment, one needs to be courteous to any one you are serving. You do not need to like their lifestyle, or even like the people, but you must treat your customer with respect, and be as attentive to them as you are to your other guests. On the way out, my daughter asked for a Manager, but the receptionist could not find one‍. Natalie left her name & phone number and asked for the Manager to call her back, but no one had taken a moment to address it. I was shocked to find out that they left her $40 tip, clearly that should be refunded back. Very disappointing read more
