If you ever travel to Portland and happen to be vegan then you are in heaven. The pizza here is tasty with thin crust. Yummy 1) Location: in the central town down Portland. Great location with many customer foot traffic. Not to mention limited parking but with great public parking across the street. 2) Taste: very fresh, hot and made it daily. The pizza was made with fresh ingredients and the result is a perfect pie. Pizza!!! 3) Price: the slice or cut will determine the size of the pizza. Estimated per person is $5 to $10. With the amount of pizza they serve, it's worth the price. 4) Server: the employees at the pizza place is full of energy and with great sense of humor. They laugh, joke, sing and imitate movie character voices... what a entertainment while you wait for your pizza. 5) Decor: it's a classic theme. I got two whole pizzas here for a friend gathering and it was such a hit. The pizza here is delicious and that's coming from someone that usually doesn't like pizza! We got the Don Caballero which the meat lovers enjoyed and the Queen (basically a Margherita pizza) which was also very delicious. Typing this review makes me crave for this pizza again! The only downside is that it's in a not as convenient location for me personally since I worry about parking and traffic any time I'm in the downtown area. I didn't have any problems with any of that though when I came at 7pm on a Friday. read more

Passed by sizzle pie when visiting powell city of books! Decided to get a slice and it was kind of oily but the pizza dough was nice and somewhat bouncy. Would have preferred a sauce pizza slice but it was not bad. Would recommend if you are a little hungry just wanted a savory snack. read more

Yes, yes, yes! We went to Portland our first time and kept walking by throughout our days there. One night we walked past it, and just had to go in. There are two parts to the restaurant. One part which is more for ordering to go and sit down area for families. The second part is more of a bar area, with loud music and and an upper deck with a view of the bar. We stayed in the bar area, listened to some new bands they were playing and the pizza was to die for. I'm telling you, this is the spot to go to after a late night out. The slices are huge, I could only have one myself. If I'm ever in Portland again, it's a must that I stop by for a sizzle pie. read more

I've been to Sizzle pie at least 1/2 a dozen times, and I remembered to check in last night. My teenage daughter loves their pizza and the wired Portland vibe of this location. We usually go late late at night because that's my teenagers preference, and the street traffic can be a bit unnerving, but nothing too crazy. Every pizza we've received has been 5 stars. We usually order pepperoni because of my teen, but in two other occasions (last night being one of them) we've ordered the "Don Caballero". Hope to try some of their other pizzas some day, too! The low score is for the level of inconsistent customer service Sizzle Pie delivers. This location has counter service, and there is usually a long line that snakes around to the front counter and everything behind the counter is on display. I feel they are selective of who they are friendly towards, and I leave feeling like I wasn't cool enough for them to engage with me. So maybe they'll read this review, and deliver the cool Portland charm I've been hoping for. read more

Great place to grab a quick slice of pizza. There isn't a ton of seating inside but there are a couple of tables outside and a few ledges where you can stand and eat. Prices are reasonable and the slices are pretty big. They had a variety of pizzas to choose slices from when we came in, we went with cheese and pepperoni but they had several specialty pies as well that sounded tasty. They had good music playing (a little ok the loud side if you are sensitive to that but I liked it) and you bus your own table when you're done. Customers can ask for the bathroom code, bathroom was pretty clean for being downtown. Service was fast if not necessarily friendly, but the pizza for sure made up for it. We have gone to Sizzle Pie for years to enjoy pizza by the slice, and my son wanted Sizzle Pie Vegan pizza for his birthday. They have a new app that is easy to download and use. I selected to login with Facebook which worked immediately. It offered a promo of free Garlic (or cinnamon) knots which are also vegan, with great vegan sauces! The app helps you decipher the creative combos and we selected two traditional combos, one vegan (Steve Caballero) and one regular (Don Caballero). A small cheese (D-Beat). All very good with traditional crust but I noticed they offer gluten free for a few bucks more. Delivery was definitely worth it for just 3 bucks more. I have nothing against side hustle delivery service but to me, every time a restaurant can handle their own deliveries, I use them. No pictures because we dug in, but one observation to share, the large is really large. read more

Some of the best pizza by the slice I've ever had definitely in my top 5... open late... great options for all... I had the STEVE CABALLERO special with vegan sausage pepperoni green peppers, onions and all this "cheesy" goodness that came with a well portioned rabbit salad... which is everything you could ever need or ranch in "eating your green" marinated in a rich non-dairy no egg ranch dressing. It was busy for a Thursday night, but we found a table and hung out for a bit... the food was so good we were tempted to get more but the meals were very feeling will have to stop in next visit and/or at the Seattle location to compare. Please come to California!!!! Down side is the bathrooms were gnarly trashy, the vegan pizza was scarce and the service though friendly was all over the place because of the rush, which I can't really blame anybody for. After seeing Hannah Jane Kile on tour with some friends @the big Legrowlski, we all got some pizza munchies and went to eat at Sizzle Pie. This was my third time eating sizzle and at a different location. This sizzle location is smaller, but has a really Cool seating layout and you just grab your alcoholic beverage at the counter OR at the rad bar next door, which also is connected to the sizzle pie kitchen through a secret door! ;-) as I was not too hungry and just got the Vegan "Spiral Tap" which includes: Creamy Caramelized Onion Spread, House Marinara Red Sauce and a light dusting of Nutritional Yeast. I wish every major city had a place like this. My hat goes off to the guys who work here and keep it open very late at night. They must see a lot of crazy things. This location is situated in the perfect place in downtown Portland and just a slice of pie will put a smile on your face. I kept it classy with a pepperoni and cheese. My girlfriend had a slice of pepperoni and jalapeños with mushrooms . She experienced Portland's local coca-cola while I purchased a tall boy of Rainer which is how you do Pizza for dinner ;-) This is not the only one around which I found out from my experience from Pine State Biscuits (check out my review of that). read more

The downtown location is open for pick up and delivery during these unusual time. They are still pretty quick and efficient and getting the pies out. I love when they do the special collaboration with other local businesses in the area. Their burger pizza and the Pink Flamingo were excellent, along with the Demolition Man one. Sizzle is my second favorite pizza in Portland. Number one is Apizza Scholls. I have eaten at Sizzle either delivery or slices more than 60 times easy. The only thing that you should be concerned about is the cook. The pizza is good, especially the D-beat(cheese). I like my pizza well done/crispy. Sometimes when I order it crispy I get a white pizza and that sucks. It's rare but it happens. Review is going up because today I ordered a well done pizza and the cook is perfect. Order 46 on 3-4-19. The individual who cranked out this pie put out a masterpiece and as such should be given money and time off for excellence in their craft. I will include a picture for anyone who wants to take in the splendor that is this pie. If every time the pie was cooked this perfect the review would be a 5 star. People gush over this. Not sure why. It's competent, and I get that it's Old Portland, but taken at face value it's not quite as good as a mall food court Sbarro. This is a by-the-slice pizza place with a tiny dining area. Okay, fine, it's downtown. First problem is for first-timers: how is this done? The person behind the pizzas has to tell almost every single person or group that they don't order until they reach the cash register. If I were the manager, I'd have a sign saying "LOOK AND DECIDE HERE; ORDER BY THE REGISTER." But that's a small thing. If the pizza were a great value, you wouldn't care about the lack of seating and slight ordering confusion. The pizza is acceptable, but it's not great. Mod Pizza beats this stuff like a rented mule. It's slightly better than some Round Tables these days (and not nearly as good as Round Tables used to be). You definitely wouldn't pay five bucks a slice for it. I wouldn't avoid it going forward, but neither would I go out of my way for it. On the upside, it's close to Powell's, so people who like to read are half a block from heaven. read more

We live 5 minutes from this Sizzle Pie and go on a regular. The pizza slices are yummy and huge. For the price, you get a good size slice, which I appreciate. The menu changes everyday so it's fun to try new things. Out of all the slices I've tried so far, I'd say my favorite is either the gold ring or the bbq chicken. They always have three vegan options as well which is great and the one vegan one I tried (buffalo chicken) was great. On weekends, this place is PACKED and service is oddly slow for what they do (basically reheating pizza in the oven). We were feeling a little snackish after spending some time at Powell's across the street when we decided to head to Serious Pie for a few slices. The hardest part is picking what you want as all the options not only have cool names, but unique flavor combinations. Feeling overwhelmed, we decided on the Ace of Spades (pepperoni) and the Spiral Tap (vegan version with caramelized onions, marinara and nutritional yeast) to split between the two of us. Once you order, your pie's put in the oven and you're off to find a table. We went mid-afternoon and we were able to scoop up a spot pretty easily (someone was leaving as we were coming), but people will perch up like vultures waiting for a table when it's full. There's also the outdoor option and you can people watch in the process. The pizza hit the spot and though the servings were big, they didn't feel like a huge gut bomb when you were done. The Ace of Spades was my favorite of the two as the onion spread was a bit much for me on the other one. It worked out, as that ended up being Jaime's fave of the bunch. Vegans/vegetarians can rejoice since they have a lot of options for you as well! They're open until 3am on the daily, so it's a great place to get your bearings after a night on the town. read more
