I've dined here before and glad we stopped by. We actually ended up changing our minds. We ordered a few toasts to go and ate It outside. It was so good. Service was fast and good. The only thing for me is that the prices are a bit pricey for a Sizzler. I don't remember what I had in the past but regardless, I know it was good. :) Hey nostalgia moment in my eyes.

We came yesterday at 4:30pm. No one was in line fortunately. Place was quite occupied. Cashier was friendly though. We did have a dirty glass cup. We did have to find our own seating which was : 2 corner booths to accommodate a party of 5 adults, 3 kids and a baby with a high chair. It made our dinner somewhat awkward. Not gonna name anyone even though the server would give us a card normally to review them on Yelp and google. Should we have tipped them first? Tri tip sirloin was tough according to my husband and my mom. Regardless, this is the last restaurant we ate with my pops as a whole family before he passed. Cheese toast was good as usual but menudo was salty. And clam chowder was lackluster . So I'm pretty bummed.

Growing up in the Midwest, places like Sizzler were a treat because who didn't like an all you can eat buffet concept as a kid? Nowadays, the concept isn't as ubiquitous because inflation and generational preferences have taken a toll. There used to be a Sizzler closer to my house before it closed so this Mountain View location in the Imperial Marketplace was the nearest branch. The parking lot was vast because of the nearby home improvement store that was the anchor tenant. I had not stepped inside one of these "family steakhouses" in decades. The layouts were all pretty similar with menu screens and a service counter with multiple registers set up after you walked through a corridor from the entranceway. After ordering and getting a receipt, you picked any open table for seating, of which there were dozens because the capacity was sufficient for well over 100 diners. A server would then come by and take the receipt to the kitchen for a cook to prepare the entree(s). In the meantime, you could help yourself to the buffet stations where soups, salads, sides, fried fare, and ice cream were available. It's not the highest quality food but for an AYCE model, there were plenty of choices for all kinds of palates. I filled a few plates with various items and saved room for soft serve ice cream as dessert. My main dish was an eight-ounce serving of Tri Tip Sirloin. It came with a choice of one side which was mashed potatoes in my case. I had finished about half of the items I picked from the buffet before the steak, potatoes, and complimentary cheese toast were delivered to my table. The meat was cooked more medium than my preference of medium rare. The sirloin was seasoned with quite a bit of black pepper as I could taste the bitterness. The spuds and toast were ordinary as expected. The brownies at the ice cream station were a bonus as the dense chocolate cake was a nice texture and flavor contrast to the vanilla soft serve. I can't consume as much as I could half a lifetime ago so I probably didn't get my money's worth which in this case was over $35. This trip to Sizzler was more about nostalgia and comfort grub versus gourmet dining. I gave a rating between three and four stars for the dining experience.

On Aug . 6 , I dropped by at Sizzler for lunch. This restaurant is usually my " to go " place for healthy meals . A wide variety of fresh offerings in their salad bar , delicious soups , side dishes etc. are always replenished . Every single time I dine in - it's usually busy and that day was no exception . However , their service staff members are always hands on and so attentive to the customers . This is not a random observation BUT a consistent service oriented point of view from someone who's been coming here for years regularly . I had to take this opportunity to commend on the excellent customer service skills of Manager Michael Graciano . He's so attentive to his customers' needs and concerns . He picked up used plates and utensils . He engaged them in conversations , no matter how short the time parameters were . He would check on the availability of food items on the salad bar . Mr. Graciano can be seen sweeping scraps of food items on the floor . These are just a few of the things that I've seen him doing on my visits at Sizzler . His leadership, excellent people skills are truly exceptional and those qualities set him apart from the pack. To this note - kindly extend to him my sincerest appreciation and thanks for his exemplary service . Mr . Michael Graciano epitomizes what a dedicated , hardworking and well loved team manager is all about .

Here's a Christmas story Years ago, Christmas was about to get canceled flight delay etc. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. The only place open was Sizzler and we all went and we all had the best time so every year at Christmas are thereabouts we go to Sizzler good people on both sides of the menu. Everybody orders, two burgers minimum cut one of the burgers in half and you share it with someone else and we laugh we talk we share we inspire and we get ready for the next year . Sizzler (said in a whisper) never disappoint never had a sticky table never had some strange madness happen. They've always just run a tight shit. We've been using this location for about five-ish years now.

Always 5 stars!!!! They feed Veterans for free every year, on the occasion of November 11th. Today I received a 50% off coupon from Sizzler to my email address from Sizzler itself, never b 4, first time ever. The Ribeye was cooked to perfection at a reasonable price point. Same price as Outback Steakhouse. Excellent service. I just love this place.

I hadn't been here in years but remembered they had an AYCE salad bar option so came by a few weeks ago. Ended up ordering the salad bar + an entree (steak and chicken) which ended up being waaay too much food so I was full afterwards. Great price for everything though, and the staff were all so helpful and attentive. Salad bar was delicious and had so many more options, from soups to a taco bar to a few other things. I had read that they recently remodeled and everything looks very modern and nice. Will be back and bringing more people. Thanks!

$36.00 Newly renovated. Had the tri-tip sirloin, and it was cooked correctly. Tri-tip is not the best cut, and the ends were tough. However, the main portion of the steak was nice. The steak was well seasoned and tasty. I don't use sauce. The sautéed mushrooms were a tad undercooked, but still edible and flavorful. The baked potato was well cooked, and was what you would expect for a baked potato. The cheese toast was okay. Not as good as I remember, but still enjoyable. You can add the salad bar for $10, or you can get salad bar only for $20. This a pre-pandemic style salad bar. The booths are not girth friendly, but there are tables with chairs on one side of the facility. read more

Server for the table was fast and we were able to get in and eating within 10 minutes we wanted to come to try the salad bar which included full salad bar including a few fried items such as wings taquitos and tempura green beans all which were replenished quickly along with soup and a few prepared salads it's not really my cup of tea but overall it was a lively atmosphere for dinner with ayce salad bar read more

I live in the Bay Area & have been going to Sizzler since I was a kid. I have to say when I come to San Diego, this is the Sizzler to beat all Sizzler's. The food is always delicious & the clam chowder is amazing. When we went the other night, we had Chante as our server. She was so attentive, we never had empty cheese toast basket or an empty shrimp plate. Chante came over with a smile every time & we couldn't be more pleased with the whole experience! read more

Every time I come to this location, I'm always greeted with a smile. I love the service here. Janeen took such good care of me, making sure that I was fully satisfied. Love going to Sizzler. My choice whenever I meet up a friend for lunch, and always at 11 when they open. I choose the AYCE salad bar when I go. The hot food choices are the first thing I fill my plate. All hot and delicious. The salad fixings, and desserts and fresh, and cold. Our server was Belen, and right away brought the toast. Yum! Severely humiliated I rarely leave reviews, but what happened during our visit to this Sizzler was serious and upsetting. My wife and I paid over $50 for our meal. I ordered a New York steak with a baked potato, and my wife ordered the salad bar. We had a valid receipt and were seated like any other paying guests. While my wife had just begun eating soup, our server approached our table without greeting us and told my wife to stop eating, stating that she was not allowed to eat the soup. The server then picked up our receipt and said we owed more money, implying we were trying to take something we hadn't paid for. This was said loudly and in front of other customers. My wife is disabled and recently had heart surgery. Being stopped mid-meal and confronted publicly caused her significant emotional distress. I immediately spoke with a manager, who explained that this was a register error -- the wrong salad bar had been rung up. Despite that explanation, the server continued to raise her voice across the restaurant, insisting she was justified. Management did not remove the server or de-escalate the situation. We were asked to wait while the general manager decided what to do, during which time other guests stared at us after witnessing the confrontation. The same server continued working and later resumed friendly service to other tables, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. At that point, we felt unable to continue our meal and requested a refund, even though food had already been brought out, because we had been told to stop eating. The general manager eventually offered two $2 coupons, which did not feel like a meaningful response given the circumstances. This experience was not about a pricing mistake -- it was about how a simple error was handled. Being publicly confronted, accused, and left in a hostile environment, especially with a guest recovering from heart surgery, was deeply disappointing. read more

Second time is even better. This is our second visit to Sizzlers since my last review a few months back. It is Easter Sunday and it is super busy. The salad bar is constantly being restocked with yummy salads, fruits, veggies and all the yummy jello. Belen has been an absolute pleasure. Regardless how packed and busy they are she continues to serve us with a huge smile. All the employees here seem to be so happy to be here. The music playing is always upbeat. As I sit here everyone around seems to be happy and enjoying their meals. Once again another success for us at Sizzlers. Steak is amazing. read more

I knew exactly what I wanted to order (steak and AYCE shrimp) and received exactly what I wanted as I ordered it. Jeaneen was a perfect server, classy professional all around and had exceptional timing. The remodel was a welcomed improvement from our last visit. I did not order it but the salad bar looked well-kept. I miss the 1990s prices but understand the cost of inflation. As of this review, there are only 2 Sizzlers left in the Greater San Diego area and this one is closest to where I reside. My household comes here to eat for consistency and nostalgia. The food is great and matches my spouse's & my childhood memories. I lived by the L.A. Koreatown location during my adult years. read more

We always have a great experience here. We come about 3 times a month. Martha is amazing! She is super friendly and professional! The food is amazing! We have been to high end steakhouse's, but here the steaks are always cooked to perfection! One request....My husband is a diabetic, if you all can put some sugar free desserts and more diet drinks like diet Dr Pepper ... this would be great! Thank you! read more

For our meals, we ordered the Grilled Shrimp, Beef Bourguignon, Meat Loaf Sandwich, and Classic Burger. We ordered the Chocolate Molten Cake, which is similar to a chocolate lava cake, as well as the Brown Butter Cake. For food, I got a BBQ bacon cheeseburger with tots, wifey got a regular bacon cheeseburger with everything plus fries, and I was curious so I also got the $10 chocolate (fudge) shake. Shake was delivered first. Expectations were high, and I was not disappointed. The shake was served in the metal tin, made with loads of real ice cream, whipped cream, fudge, drizzle of chocolate syrup, and chocolate sprinkles. Honestly not sure what I was thinking when mixing beer with shake, in hindsight I wouldn't do that again... but it was one of the best shakes I've had in a long while. Burgers came out shortly afterwards. Wifey's was cooked perfectly medium, which is an unusual thing for most burger places these days; most of the time when I order a burger medium, it comes out medium well or well done. These were both perfectly medium. Both burgers came out with a generous amount of potato products, more than either of us could hope to stuff down our gullets in one sitting. The food was outstanding. The service was great. The music was too loud for the wife but it was the kind of music that is supposed to be played loud so no points off for that from me. A nice vibe overall. I'll definitely be back.

Cari swooped in the moment she saw what was happening - making sure I was safely lying down, getting me hand sanitizer for my forehead and a wet cloth for the back of my neck (rapid cooling!), and orange juice for my fluid imbalance. Overall, I agree with the other reviews saying to go just for drinks and appetizers. I would go again just to sit upstairs and get drinks and take pictures. We had such a wonderful experience at Sizzler in San Diego! I called a week ahead to make reservations for a party of 15 and spoke with Luis, who was so accommodating. When we arrived, he had tables set up for us toward the back of the restaurant, giving us a little privacy, which we really appreciated. Our main server was Carlos, and together, Carlos and Luis went above and beyond to make sure our group was well taken care of. They were efficient in taking and serving our orders, making sure everything came out exactly as requested. Carlos was attentive and always seemed to come by at just the right time whether to refill drinks, clear plates, or check if we needed anything. Luis also came by several times to make sure everything was perfect. It's been years since we've been to a Sizzler. When my son was little, we used to come often, so when he chose Sizzler for his birthday dinner as an adult, it brought back such great memories. Coming back after all these years felt special, and the team made it even more memorable. They even sang happy birthday to my son. The restaurant itself was spotless. The salad bar was fresh, well-stocked, and continuously refilled. We were all impressed with the quality of the steaks and how juicy and flavorful the lobsters were. Every dish came out hot, and throughout the evening, everyone kept commenting on how delicious the food was. First time at this location (and not since the 80s any Sizzler). I was actually taken off guard how friendly the staff was. I was just standing there reading the menu when I was asked if I need any help. It wasn't just that one employee, it was all of them. I have been to places where the staff all looked and acted like they were court-ordered to work. Not here. The place was clean (bathroom too, that is a big thing for me since I believe the cleaniness of the bathroom reflects the operations of the place and probably how the kitchen is kept too.). To me is just means the staff and supervisors are on top of things. Anyways, the salad bar was fresh and the food tasted good. I sampled everything. Pretty good. The cheesy bread is on point, lol! I ordered the little place 6oz tri-tip sirloin with the baked potato and unlimited salad bar add-on. My steak was made to my order, and I liked the fire char on it. They have ice cream too. I enjoyed the fact they had real soft-serve ice cream and not that nasty, cheap ice milk stuff. All around, the place was pretty good. My server, was the "yelp famous" Jeanne. She was like what everyone else said. She was attentive, friendly and did a great job. She is worth the 5 star review. So, take this review how you want. But I plan on coming back. read more

Sizzlers provided a service that, while commendable in terms of attentiveness, fell short when it came to the culinary experience. The triple combo, which included ribs, shrimp, and a 6oz steak, left much to be desired. The ribs were disappointingly bland and had a gamey quality, coupled with barbecue sauce seemingly just plopped on without much finesse. The steak, though good in taste, had an odd and unappealing shape, making it less appetizing visually. While the baked potato and fried shrimp managed to meet expectations, the overall dining cost was a significant drawback. At $120 for three people, and without even opting for the salad bar, it felt like every aspect came with an additional charge. The notion of charging extra for salad bar access seemed excessive and contributed to an impression of nickel-and-diming customers. Comparisons to other similar establishments, such as Chili's or Texas Roadhouse, were inevitable. Sizzlers, in contrast, created an atmosphere where the focus seemed to be on extracting every possible penny rather than delivering a wholesome and satisfying dining experience. First time at sizzlers, came here on a whim and ended up with the best dine in experience I've had in a LONG time. The ambiance was amazing, we were first greeted by Liliana who was very professional and after telling her it was our first time she step by step walked us through the menu and salad bar and answered all our questions and made excellent recommendations. My wife and i ordered 2 mango lemonades and 2 salad bars, without a doubt some of the freshest ingredients i have eaten in a long time, you can tell the staff care about cleanliness and expertise as they are constantly sweeping, cleaning the salad bar and ensuring you are being helped. Our server Martha really made the experience 100% by recommending us the mango lemonade a very delicious drink on a hot day like today. She checked on us without us having to call or look for her and made sure we tried the signature cheesy bread which was astounding. The price that we paid for this in San Diego is amazing. We had a wonderful Mother's Day celebration at Sizzler, and the experience truly exceeded our expectations. Even with the large holiday crowd around 12:15PM, the restaurant was very clean, organized, and well managed. From the moment we arrived, the staff directed us efficiently to the cashier, helped us with our selections, and quickly got us seated with beverages and fresh basket bread. What impressed me most was the outstanding customer service. Despite how busy they were, the wait staff remained attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our visit. The food was excellent. I ordered the ribs and chicken plate with a baked potato and a mango lemonade, and everything was flavorful and perfectly prepared. My wife enjoyed the all-you-can-eat salad bar, and my daughter loved her burger and fries along with a mango lemonade. Overall, the value for the price was fantastic. First time at this Sizzler location. I had my family in town visiting from Chicago. We headed into San Diego to do some sight seeing and later for lunch we decided to eat at this Sizzler. The food was good as most Sizzlers are. The salad bar was fully stocked. It was quite busy when we visited. It was a Sunday evening on the 28th. We were a large group of 17. There seemed to be other large groups there as well, but we didn't have any issues finding and gathering tables to accommodate all of us. This location is spacious. The best thing about this location had to be the service. Our server was Carlos. He was amazing. Very friendly and talkative. Found out he plays in a band that plays cover songs of the Beatles. Although he was very busy tending to a large crowd that evening, he had told for everyone. I have not seen someone hustle that much. All the while with a smile on his face. He made sure we had everything we needed. They are lucky to have Carlos on their team. Made our experience very memorable. If I'm ever on the area again I will definitely go back. I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the wonderful surprise I experienced during my birthday dinner at Sizzler's. The evening exceeded all expectations and truly made my celebration unforgettable. I was genuinely touched when Martha, along with Kimberly from management and the entire staff, took the time to come out and sing "Happy Birthday." It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture that turned what was already a pleasant evening into something extraordinarily special. To be quite honest, I had even considered leaving quietly, but their kindness completely transformed the moment. The team at Sizzler's consistently demonstrates exceptional customer service. There was a server by the name of Chante which was not our server however was kind enough to commendate our tables request. I informed her that our server had not been by our table for some time and asked if you could get our table some bread. She was fantastic, attentive and friendly to commendate. Even though she had other tables to attend too she still commendated with helping as needed. She kept a positive attitude which really set the tone for a wonderful everning even though our server was too busy to make sure that we were okay. I just want to let you know what an exceptional server Chante exemplify on this day. She went above and beyond to ensure that our table was taken care of. I even tried to give her a tip but she refused because this was not her station and that she didn't want to slite her co-working who's station we were in. My Service was great the server was a Black lady named Chantel I believe is what her name tag said. Very polite and attentive to our needs I asked her why she was the only black working at the establishment that I noticed that the last few times I visited I didn't see any whites or black employees she didn't want to bad mouth or negative about the current management so I changed the subject. My opinion is that you serve all sort of people and races so you need to have all sort of races working at this locations not just Mexican people seems like that's all I saw. Nothing against Mexicans. Very hard workers but other workers work hard as well like The black lady that waited our table a few times she is really nice and smiles and chit chats with us as she serves us makes it a nice experience. We have been coming to this location in Southeast Sd since the National City location closed. My kids (now 30+ yrs old) still have dinner with is here at the Imperial ave locale. We always have GREAT & FRIENDLY service, the servers are super helpful, knowledgeable & attentive to our needs. We often dine with 4+ family members & get the same GREAT SERVICE EVERY TIME!!!! We usually get long time server "Carlos" as we did tonight, as far as I'm concerned (having worked in restaurants as a chef, I know, I know, sometimes you just want a steak & all u can eat shrimp, Latino homeboy at heart ) is a SUPER CREDIT to your brand!!!! Attentive, polite, & knows his menu items. Always willing to go the extra mile to make sure you have a great experience!! All the staff at this locale, including the managers are top shelf!! Salmon Perfection at Family Steak House! I just had the most fantastic experience at Family Steak House! Forget the name--while they have great steaks, you have to try their seafood. I ordered the Salmon in Ginger and Soy Sauce with the side veggies, and seriously, this dish is a winner. The salmon was flawlessly cooked--super flaky and moist--and the ginger-soy sauce was out of this world. It hit all the right notes: savory, slightly sweet, and aromatic. The fresh, crisp veggies were the perfect accompaniment. A solid 10/10 meal! But what really made the experience was the team. Everyone was so welcoming and genuinely attentive. From the moment I walked in, I felt completely relaxed and at home--it's just a great, cozy vibe here. My husband and I went in for lunch on Saturday. From the time we walked in and were greeted, everyone was so nice. The front staff took our order, provided glasses and silverware and we were off to find a table. I ordered the NY Strip, medium rare, baked potato and the unlimited salad bar. Our server was Chante. Chante greeted us with a big smile and thanked us for coming in. She offered us bread and made sure we had enough napkins, steak sauce, etc. Our food was delivered, steak cooked perfectly, big baked potato (fixins on the side as requested). Throughout the meal, Chante checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. I recently visited this restaurant, I've never been and my hopes were high. I order the bacon crispy burger and it was fantastic the fries were amazingly crispy and soft ln the inside better than McDonald's fries. The burger it was juicy, thick, buttery fluffy bread was on POINT. My folks got the steak and lobster and I was able to snag a bite and I was not let down. It was amazing, lobster was amazing and buttery and the steak was perfectly cooked, I often don't find myself ordering lobster or steak but the way this steak hit me, it was revolutionary. I had a truly great experience and received excellent service. The manager, Ms. Kimberly, was incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional. She created a positive atmosphere and clearly takes pride in running a well-managed business. She also introduced me to my waiter, Mr. Carlos, who was just as impressive. He was polite, attentive, and carried himself with professionalism throughout the entire visit. His service made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I left very satisfied and appreciative of the outstanding customer care provided by both Ms. Kimberly and Mr. Carlos. I thought all sizzlers had died out but coming here was so clear that, while there may not be many locations left, sizzler is alive and incredibly well. The salad bar was constantly stocked and always clean thanks to the employees who wipe the counters down once every few minutes (like less than 10). There's always an open table because of how quickly the tables are cleared off and wiped down after a guest has left. I cannot stress how clean the employees keep this place it's honestly incredible. Our server Martha was constantly making laps checking in on everyone and was so sweet. Wanted to leave a review following our most recent visit to Sizzler after having a really nice experience. Just to get it out of the way, the salad bar was fresh and delicious, with lots of good variety. My steak and unlimited shrimp was another great choice, too. The restaurant is clean and lively and a great atmosphere for overeating shrimp, to be sure. But more than that, our meal was made truly superlative by our friendly server, Daniel. He was attentive and helpful. He was never overbearing either. He was funny and brought some insightful conversation to help me feel a little better about how this season is going for the Padres, too. It always endears me to a restaurant when the staff treats you like family. We'll be back soon for sure! read more

The location on Imperial Ave SD is the best of the best. from the manager Luis Sierra, Leslie the host, Maria Hernandez at the salad bar, the server Jeannine awill serve the best customer service ever, and I mean ever. The entire staff here really do their part to even include those in the kitchen, no matter what day you come in. The salad bar is very fresh, clean and organized at all time.... Its a work of art. The food is cooked the moment you order it and is at your table within the 10 min range. My favorite is the Malibu Chicken however the steaks are always cooked to perfection. I was appalled at the dress code of who I learned is the Manager on Duty. Her name is Veronica and she was wearing a strapless top and Capri pants. I cannot believe anyone in a management position would think this attire is appropriate and epecially for a family restaurant. Her attire appeared as though she just left the beach. All of the employees at work were working hard to keep smiles on their faces even though they were all sweating and hustling. I hope the Distict Manager reads this and has a conversation with Veronica and rewards the service team.
