Me and my buddy came in for lunch. We went to the front counter and the cashier was very pushy. We asked her what the seating situation was like she said to find your own seat so we walked off for a second before she called us back saying we have to order up front. We asked if it was a buffet and she said it was but that you order your food upfront. She then obnoxiously asked if we wanted to do the salad bar, and we asked if that was normal and that we had I paid 24 and my friend payed 30 for some reason. When my friend went to get clam chowder he said it smelled infected as he was scooping it out. The food we got was cold and tasted terrible. I have not been to a Sizzler in ages but for some reason the group wanted to dine here tonight. Well...it's a Sizzler and they do what they do. I was pleasantly surprised. The Interior = Clean and spacious. The Service = Honestly? It was exceptional. Our server was attentive and fast. He handled our table of 13 easily. The Food = Not bad at all! The steak "though a tiny 6oz" had a good flavor and char. The baked potato came with sour cream and butter. I loaded it with bacon bits and cheese from the salad bar. SIZZLER - NOT JUST FOR OLDER FOLKS Sizzler was not my first choice on Valentine's Day but after 5PM, restaurants were crowded and there was a long wait time and I didn't plan ahead. I reconnected this old flame because I used to go Sizzler for their fulfilling lunch specials. Which still exist. I ordered the Tripilicious plate which consisted of a 6 oz steak, 3 jumbo shrimp, and 3 St. Louis ribs, baked potato and salad bar.  First, I'm overjoyed they serve unlimited refills of Fanta Orange so I overindulged. The steak had the charbroiled flavor with crispy peppered fat and it was so good that it did not require steak sauce. As for the shrimp there was nothing jumbo or worth noting. But I definitely enjoyed the meaty ribs with that sweet twang sauce. Given the salad bar accompany's hot food and dessert, this would be a great deal. Instead I just ate the feta kale salad and jello.  Yes I said jello. Does anyone even make jello anymore? All in all I had a great time watching the Bulls game, eating a tasteful meal and basked in Fanta Orange heaven. $36.00 Newly renovated. Had the tri-tip sirloin, and it was cooked correctly. Tri-tip is not the best cut, and the ends were tough. However, the main portion of the steak was nice. The steak was well seasoned and tasty. I don't use sauce. The sautéed mushrooms were a tad undercooked, but still edible and flavorful. The baked potato was well cooked, and was what you would expect for a baked potato. The cheese toast was okay. Not as good as I remember, but still enjoyable. You can add the salad bar for $10, or you can get salad bar only for $20. This a pre-pandemic style salad bar. Severely humiliated I rarely leave reviews, but what happened during our visit to this Sizzler was serious and upsetting. My wife and I paid over $50 for our meal. I ordered a New York steak with a baked potato, and my wife ordered the salad bar. We had a valid receipt and were seated like any other paying guests. While my wife had just begun eating soup, our server approached our table without greeting us and told my wife to stop eating, stating that she was not allowed to eat the soup. The server then picked up our receipt and said we owed more money, implying we were trying to take something we hadn't paid for. This was said loudly and in front of other customers. My wife is disabled and recently had heart surgery. Being stopped mid-meal and confronted publicly caused her significant emotional distress. I immediately spoke with a manager, who explained that this was a register error -- the wrong salad bar had been rung up. Despite that explanation, the server continued to raise her voice across the restaurant, insisting she was justified. Management did not remove the server or de-escalate the situation. We were asked to wait while the general manager decided what to do, during which time other guests stared at us after witnessing the confrontation. The same server continued working and later resumed friendly service to other tables, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. At that point, we felt unable to continue our meal and requested a refund, even though food had already been brought out, because we had been told to stop eating. The general manager eventually offered two $2 coupons, which did not feel like a meaningful response given the circumstances. This experience was not about a pricing mistake -- it was about how a simple error was handled. Being publicly confronted, accused, and left in a hostile environment, especially with a guest recovering from heart surgery, was deeply disappointing. read more
