Three of us arrived around 9:00 p.m. after an event at the Moose Lodge. Since they close at 10:30, I specifically asked our server if we were too late for dinner. She assured us we were fine, so we ordered cocktails and three full entrées. Our server was wonderful, but unfortunately the food was not. The rolls and beans arrived ice cold. The ribs were overly salty, the baked potato was scorched, and the corn was barely edible. One person did enjoy their shrimp sampler. I ordered the roughly $60-$65 porterhouse with asparagus and the $5 lobster mac and cheese upgrade. The steak was extremely tough, fatty and full of gristle. The asparagus was overly charred and crunchy, and the lobster mac and cheese was watery, bland and had virtually no seafood flavor. After two bites, I sent the meal back. Our server was very apologetic and removed my entrée from the bill without me asking. I still tipped her based on the original total because she provided excellent service and the food quality wasn't her fault. I understand we arrived later in the evening, but if a restaurant is open until 10:30 and tells customers at 9:15 that it's fine to order, the food should still meet the same standard--especially at steakhouse prices. I want local restaurants to succeed, but this meal simply wasn't acceptable for the price. Unfortunately, based on tonight's experience, I wouldn't recommend it.

Also ordered the garlic naan and rice. I have only ordered lamb chops once because if I smell even a hint of gamey flavor I won't eat it! These were awesome...cooked really well with good seasoning! Love the mint sauce( similar to chimichurri) and the brown sauce. Wow...really good and tender! The butter chicken was nice as well as the rice and garlic naan. But...well..lamb chop was special! On our most recent visit, we tried the bavarian sampler, and it completely blew us away. Every bite was packed with flavor, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Over the years, Sutter Buttes Brewing has become one of our favorite comfort spots, whether it's during the fall, winter, or summer. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Maryville (at 1st & D St's), and next to the Chinese "Bok Kai Temple", this longstanding and well known restaurant/saloon/hotel has been in operation dating way back to 1858 when the peak of the gold rush era was thriving in California. Over the years, the upstairs hotel (a.k.a. "The Grand Hotel") was once a brothel amongst various operations before becoming a permanent hotel for guests to stay. Meanwhile the downstairs has served as a full-size bar complete with a ton of American comfort food to choose from on their extensive menu. I came here during the afternoon of Saturday 7/19/2025 at around 4:30pm. Since this was during the 25th annual "Marysville Peach Festival", there was a ton of customers and locals visiting during my visit. Surprisingly, parking was easy to find as I parked directly outside of the building. Once inside, you are immediately drawn to the nostalgic wooden interior. From the looks of it, not much has changed here over the years complete with vintage sepia chandeliers, huge brick ovens, taxidermy displays of various animals, and everything else that represented the wild wild west. Their menu is extensive and has just about all of the stick-to-your-ribs food you can ask for. This includes a ton of appetizers (poppers, fries, mozzarella sticks, etc.) as well as a nice variety of main course entrées that include sandwiches, burgers, salads, steaks, pastas, and much more. And since you're in a saloon, they offer all of the top whiskies, bourbons and brandies as well as a ton of beer on tap. Keep in mind that they are closed on Monday & Tuesday but open for business Wed/Thu and Sunday from 11am-8pm and Fri/Sat from 11am-9pm. After narrowing down what I wanted, I finally settled with their "French Dip" sandwich. This was a traditional and classic sandwich complete with their smoked roast beef w/Swiss cheese & mayonnaise on a hoagie roll with a side of Au Jus sauce. I opted with home fries as my side and a Coke to drink. I also ordered a starter appetizer which was their crispy "Chicken Tenders". Our server was very attentive as my +1 and I sat on a quieter side of the restaurant (near the windows). Total time took around 25 minutes to get our food; not a big deal considering this place was absolutely packed with customers. Overall, my French Dip was delicious and filling. They were generous with the thin sliced roast beef while there was the perfect amount of cheese. The au jus had the right amount of consistency as each bite hit the spot. However, the chicken tenders were just so-so as there was too much breading on the exterior. And considering these were $16.95 for 4 tenders, it was quite a bit on the pricier side. I don't want to knock this place too much but I did see quite a bit of flies by our table. But I do realize that some of these things are beyond their control with as busy as it was. All in all, the "Silver Dollar Saloon" is a good place for small and large gatherings. The service was excellent while we got filled up during our visit. My rating, an above average four stars.

I haven't had a Philly sandwich in a very long time! I got the classic Philly Cheese Steak with peppers. It was oozing with meat! Tender and well seasoned! I only had a few bites but it was delicious! The lady that was working there ( I think her name was Vicky) was kind and accommodating! Hard working employee!
