We LOVE this Sizzler! We don't have a Sizzler near our city anymore so we were excited to see this one now open for indoor dining while we are staying in Yuba city. We haven't eaten at a Sizzler since our honeymoon in 2011, and now it's three kids later! LOL Anyway, both my wife and I had New York steaks, and I had NO IDEA how delicious they would be. I've been a Cattleman's steakhouse guy, but this steak was better and more tender and delicious than any I've had at Cattleman's. My wife agreed about hers too! There was a bit too much fat we had to cut off, but the actual flavor of the steak without any sauce or anything added by us, was phenomenal. The steak was second only to the AMAZING, sweet, and friendly and helpful server from our visit tonight, SARAH! Sure there's fewer people here because of the virus nonsense going on, but she was literally at the table with what we needed before we asked, more than once! And she was so super friendly and answering questions about the area that we had! So amazing! The manager Sean was outstanding too, very in touch with what we needed, and the assistant manager lowered the blinds for me as soon as he saw that I was concerned about the sun coming in the window on My daughters face. This is our second visit in a couple of weeks. Hadn't been to Sizzler since 98 when I last worked for them so was excited for the nostalgia. Trip 1 was decent minus the 40 minutes we waited for Steaks. The 2nd trip wasn't good. Ordered the mega bacon burger, after 37 minutes it was delivered with no bacon and appeared to be a child size patty on a large bun. When we asked for the bacon burger we were told they could just bring us the bacon to add. I asked for it to be prepared as a bacon cheeseburger. It was another 20 minutes before a bacon cheeseburger was delivered. They wouldn't let me cancel the burger and obtain a refund. Our server was rarely around, our table not bussed and refills not provided unless we found her and waved her down. read more

This is our go-to place for hot summer days and nights. They have cold salads, sliced melons and other fruits and ice cream. They have hamburgers and fresh fish. And the senior salad bar price is nice. There is always something for everyone, big or little appetite. Perhaps not above average where the food was concerned, but cleanliness and overall atmosphere certainly tips the scale to their favor. Granted, what was ordered was the official salad bar for $17+, which included enough food to satisfy a very hungry comensal, in our case two. Food bar had several items, plus other sections with additional options. Clam Chowder was a welcome surprise on a Thursday, and even though clams were not noticeable, flavor was present. Used to Friday being Clam Chowder I thought daily was even better. Photos will attest to what we enjoyed while being there. As I pointed out, buffet items are what they are, no more, no less. Service was competent, and we did not feel they wanted us out of there after a few runs, on the contrary, clean plates were readily available throughout our time there, drink refills which were nicely carbonated for a diet coke and garlic/cheese bread? On a side note, a family of chickens were freely roaming the street as we entered the establishment, while a few robust chickens/even roosters walked the parking lot. Surely not part of the menu, but an unusual sight to say the least. The city, apparently, does not frown upon their presence, do watch out for droppings here and there. This Sizzler was either kind of new or kept in mint condition. No, we didn't splurge on individual selections which fluctuating from $15 to $30, with an additional $10 or so buffet all you can eat included. My husband and I visited your Yuba City location tonight for dinner. while waiting in line to order, a lady and her son walked through complaining that she didn't get any of the "extra things" she ordered. She warned me not to eat there. I should have listened. We ordered and paid for our meals at 5:01 pm. My husband ordered a shrimp platter and a salad. I ordered just the salad bar. As we were fixing our salads, I noticed that a great many of the selections were low or empty. I stopped one employee (whom I later learned was an assistant manager) and requested eggs for the salad bar, as the container was empty. After about 15 minutes, I requested eggs from our server. I requested eggs again after 30 minutes. Finally, after 40 minutes, I asked for the Manager. The original lady I talked to came over. I reminded her that I had asked for eggs and that none had been put out. I notified her that I had only eaten 1 fried chicken wing, while waiting the 40 minutes. I asked for her to refund my salad. She went and spoke to the Manager (Mike). She returned and told me that Mike will not give me a refund, as I had already eaten something from the salad bar. I was offered a free salad bar for my next visit. I asked to speak with Mike. The assistant manager returned and stated that Mike will not speak with me. They again offered a coupon for a free salad at our next visit and stated that the eggs were still frozen. I declined. If I had been notified that there were no eggs, I could have ordered something with a different protein option. They offered to get me something different and I declined. I am not trying to get free food. I purchased an item that wasn't available and wanted my money back. Of course, I am willing to pay for the fried chicken wing I ate. Why would I ever go back to this restaurant, while under Mike's management? Why was a salad bar EMPTY at the beginning of the dinner rush? Why won't Mike leave his office to speak with guests? I am disgusted by my experience at the Yuba City location. By the way, My husband's meal was great and the shrimp was wonderful. Unfortunately, we will not be back to your restaurant while Mike is the Manager. read more

Our experience on Mother's Day was excellent. I had failed to make reservations anywhere but they got us in and seated with no wait. Our servers, Angela and Tea, were pleasant and when we asked how something was made (the cheese bread) they asked the chefs and reported back so we could make it ourselves. The salad bar had lots of fresh options clearly labeled with when they had been prepared. The watermelon was the best I've had yet this season. Wonderful experience! I've been coming here since the early 90's with my family. Now my wife and I bring our family here. First thing, the restaurant is always clean and inviting, even when they're swamped. First class staff! From the people taking orders at the front, to the wait staff, to the bus boys, all of them are polite and friendly. I could go on about the food, but it rocks because it's Sizzler! I want to point out Shayla, the young lady taking our order. I would not have guessed it was only her second day as she did awesome! Her trainer, Valerie, was excellent and very attentive to both us and Shayla. Our waitress, Hannelore, was excellent! Great personality and so attentive! TERRIBLE!!! Had the ribs and steak and shrimp and steak. Shrimp, ribs and steak was inedible. Only good thing was the baked potato. When we complained to the manager, Ricardo, he literally disputed that the quality of the food was bad. Argued that his server didn't know what she was talking about when saying the soda machine was down but the soda tasted funny. I knew not to come here after bad experience at other chain locations before and should not have. Salad bar looked good but did not pay the extra $10 to indulge in it. Never again!!! read more

It was a little surprising to see it has become a "order and pay at the counter" type of resto. It was a little difficult to do this at a place that has a very extensive menu. Another patron was aghast that the man was there with his dog (a small animal). He complained to management (I did not get her name). I was impressed with her and the team's professionalism. Valentine's Day 2024 6pm...We've been going to this place for about 5 years now and never experienced such a disgusting way to celebrate V-Day. We order a salad bar meal for myself and an entree meal for my wife. The cashier named Ericka explained to us that the salad bar is only good for one and one person only. We knew that. For some reason her delivery of her explanation was condescending. As we sat down after I got my food from the salad bar and as my wife started eating her entree. I shared my salad to my wife on the side. What happened next was disgusting: Ericka went out of her way to check on us and yelled and pointed at the food saying "THAT SALAD IS YOURS AND YOU DONT SHARE IT WITH HER!!!" There were a lot of patrons during that day eating but she only went to our table and embarrassed us just because we shared our food on the table!!! It is downright disgusting and discriminatory. We are seniors living in the community and to blatantly singled us out was unacceptable. We were shocked but composed. We did not want to make a scene since it was a celebratory day. We should've acted angrily but we remained to our seats and pondered about this despicable woman. So, we are all human and bound to make mistakes. The amazing part about this place is no matter what, in my experience, they always go above and beyond to fix or make peace with mistakes made! Wish I could give less than 1 star, Service was good but the food and price changes are ridiculous for the quality of food! I grew up eating here and never had a problem until recently. I know they redid a lot at this location but the food and different of one time at the salad bar or now unlimited salad bar is just a marketing ploy to charge more. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Asked for a 12 oz steak and got half a steak with at least 4-5oz of fat on it. Both my son and I got medium Rare his was medium well and was sent back. They said they just make a new one so he waited for his food think it was going to be completely replaced. Now when he god his food back it was only the steak and his fries that came with it was cold. Again our waitress was good and the service at the counter to get seated was good. but the quality of food and marketing changes were terrible and they lost our business for the time being.
