Child ramen ? I guess the tonkatsu they gave me because the roll I ate had a bunch of skin and scales

Scale that like opened into a fin each bite is like 2$ I spit out the first two and it was like the consistency stayed in each bite I couldn't finish it sucks bc this is like one of two sushi spots near my house I called it in and told them I had a bad experience so maybe they would turn it around but.. no

    Salmon Donburi
    Hope L.

My sister picked this place for dinner and I got the salmon donburi. It came with a miso soup, side salad, and the salmon over rice. The miso soup was perfect and tasted delicious. The side salad was also super unique with the apple chunks and a soy sauce dressing on top. The salmon was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth as it was so buttery. However, I knocked off a star as I was charged $24.20 for this dish even though it was listed as $22 on the menu and we had gotten 3 other items. Overall, we were originally overcharged $8 if I hadn't looked at the receipt and noticed the upcharge in pricing. The server was nice and gave us the correct bill but I just hope that this was accidental and that they don't upcharge customers on purpose hoping they won't notice.

We came back for sushi today on a hot day, and my friend and I still love the food here. I tried something new the "Falling in Love Roll," garlic edamame, and miso soup. My friend had the kimchi seafood ramen, which he enjoyed so much he finished the whole bowl. I liked my sushi this time because it wasn't too sweet. All the food was great, but I especially loved the kimchi soup it was super delicious, especially with a squeeze of lime. The waitress was very friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and comfortable. I'll definitely be coming back!

I went here around 7 and had to only wait around 10-14 mins before getting my food to-go. The price each was around 9$. I love how they had the wasabi and ginger in a little baggy LOL. Sushi felt a little dry but with the spicy mayo, it was really good! Would like to dine in next time, inside was pretty cool.

I stopped by Qimura Sushi and ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box. It was overall, a really solid meal. The chicken was tender with a nice, flavorful glaze that had just the right balance of sweet and savory. The portion size was generous, and everything was neatly packed, including rice, salad, and the sides you'd expect with a bento. The presentation was clean, and service was efficient. It didn't quite hit the "wow" factor to earn five stars, but it was definitely satisfying and a great value for the price. I'd come back again to try some sushi next time!

I have been coming to the sushi restaurant for years and I swear it just keeps getting better. I don't know how that's even possible. Their fish is always fresh and the service is always great. I've come here with different people and I've also come here so many times absolutely alone it just has a great kind of vibe and atmosphere where you feel comfortable doing that. Also, I think they have the best teriyaki sauce I've ever tasted anywhere and I always get extra whenever I get a bento box. Love this place!

The small roll was the Philly roll. Can't remember the big one but it had shrimp and spicy tuna.

Got my wife to try sushi and she actually likes it. Great staff and ambiance. Service was very polite and quick! You forget you're in a strip mall. Great sushi and very fresh. I also love the martini prawns. My wife got the teriyaki chicken in case she didn't like the sushi and she said it was amazing. We need to go here way more!!!

I moved to Windsor last year and have not had a chance to try this place yet and I am not sure why it took me so long to find out about this place! The interior is decorated very lovely and it looks clean. We shared a salmon sashimi, rainbow rolls, and lion king rolls. I appreciate that our server informed us that it would take 15-20 mins for lion king rolls since it has to be baked, which we did not mind. All the dishes were so delicious! My favorite was the lion king rolls. The sauces tasted so good! Service was friendly and lovely. We will definitely be back!

This APIH Month, I'm spotlighting Qimura, now one of our favorite Japanese take-out options. We've ordered many ramen bowls from them over the recent months. I love the miso ramen with tofu (vegetarian) and my husband has enjoyed the miso ramen with pork, as well as the pork chashu shoyu ramen. They offer a variety of noodle choices, and we often opt for the soba noodles (love the flavor and that they are higher in protein!). This week we ordered sushi: -Wakame - Seaweed Salad -Edamame -Gyoza (Pork) - Pan fried pot stickers -Green Dragon Roll - Shrimp Tempura inside/ Hamachi , Avocado, Jalapeño on top *that jalapeño adds a kick! -Veggie Dragon - Asparagus and Yam Tempura inside with Avocado, Mango on top *so colorful and delicious - a new favorite! -Spicy Tuna Roll - Chopped Tuna and spicy sauce with Cucumber *a classic Fresh fish! Fresh veggies! Fast, friendly service! Thanks Qimura for many delicious dinners.

    Red and Green Roll
    marc j.

Our local sushi house has become our new favorite sushi place since our last place went downhill. We are coming about once a week for a few months. The fish is fresh, rolls tightly wrapped. One of our favorite rolls is the red and green (but it has occasionally had issues) we added the redwood roll into the mix last night and really enjoyed that. Recommendation for the owner- Anything with tempura - it seems like these pieces are made ahead of time and sit. In the red and green roll the tempura shrimp center at times tastes like a cold oily coating and not a fresh crunch. With the walnut prawn appetizer the bottom of the cup is same thing cold old bits. Please make the tempura pieces to order. thank you

    Chirashi
    Jodi T.

I was craving Chirashi really bad and this place came up on my search. 100% glad I did because it was really really good! Don't be fooled by the blacked out windows, they are open! Service was excellent! The Chirashi came with salad and miso soup, but I didn't know the salad came with apples (which I'm allergic to). The worker did not hesitate to swap it out and offered me a new salad with no apples, seaweed salad or cucumber salad. I really appreciated that they accomodated my allergies! Chirashi (5/5 stars) - I'm used to more variety of fish when I order this at other places, but it was good! The fish tasted so fresh, and the tamago was just the right sweetness. The sushi rice had chopped up shrimp, cucumber, and pickled daiko which was perfect with the fish. Seaweed salad (5/5) - standard yummy Miso Soup (5/5) - standard restaurant miso soup Overall, highly recommend getting the Chirashi here!

My husband and I came in for dinner on a Saturday night, we were warmly greeted and seated promptly. My husband can't eat avocado and several other sushi spots had it in almost every roll, so that was a factor in choosing this spot. Quimura had plenty of options for us. We shared some chilled sake and fresh hot veggie tempura to start our meal. Been craving this and it hit the spot. Then we shared 5 rolls and were struggling to finish at the end. They came out in waves, started with the 49er roll, we love the fresh lemon on top and this is a favorite even though Hubs is a Raider fan. Then came out the Red Dragon and Samurai rolls. These were similar but we preferred the Red Dragon. Then came the Blackjack followed by the Lion Queen. All the rolls were fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the $9er roll and the Red Dragon. We took a couple rolls to go for the kids and they enjoyed them, I believe a Mermaid and a rock and roll. Husband was pleasantly surprised when the bill came, it was more reasonable than he was anticipating :) I am already looking forward to coming back! I think this is my new favorite sushi spot!

Are there lunch specials or bento boxes at Qimura?

I;m not really sure about lunch specials, but they will no doubt have bento boxes on the lunch menu. Should be a great place for lunch, but there is a small window as to when they are open during the lunch menu.

We were only able to get a 5:15 pm reservation on a Saturday night, which was somewhat unusual because the outdoor patio and interior were only about half full. Maybe they allow for walk-ins so I suggest that if you want a later reservation like 7 pm that you try a walk-in instead. It was my husband's 67th birthday, which I indicated on the reservation, and they had a customized menu for him, birthday card, and welcome cocktail of champagne. The service was prompt and very friendly and we started with PEI mussels, served with Costeaux Sourdough Baguette (slightly charred), Poblano Peppers, Roasted Leeks, Heirloom Tomato Broth and Petite Fenne, which was hearty and really delicious ($24). The manager also provided complimentary homemade bread with a black sea salt that you could sprinkle on top, We brought a nice bottle of Robert Young cab and the corkage was $25, which is very reasonable. Husband got the prime Kobe New York steak loin ($63) and was disappointed that it was only half of a normal New York. It came with Brentwood Yellow Corn, Potato Croquette, Perigord Truffle Butter, Bone Marrow and Sauce Bordelaise. He ordered it rare and it was served appropriately. I ordered the bone in Duroc pork loin ($42) served with Yellow Wax Beans, Shishito, Bacon Jam, Parmesan Frico and Jimmy Nardelo Peperonata, which was very tasty. I should have indicated medium rare as it was a little more overcooked than I would like. The accompanying polenta cake and peppers were a delicious compliment. We decided not to have dessert, but they brought us a Snickers dessert for his birthday on the house. It came with Cocoa Tuille, Peanut Powder, Sea Salt and Burnt Caramel and was super yummy. I would definitely go back, highly recommend. The clientele in the restaurant were not super snobby and seemed like locals and regular people out for a good meal.

We were greeted with glasses of champagne, a special menu with our anniversary mentioned on the top, and an anniversary card. All of that was so special and unique which made us feel so welcome! We chose to do the "trust me" chef's dinner. It was a surprise for every dish. This was my first time trying bone marrow and now I am a huge fan. I will say the snickers style dessert was overwhelmingly sweet and I just couldn't finish it. My one problem with how they list it on the menu is "$20 per course". I didn't like thinking about how a somewhat skimpy salad equals out to $20. I think it sounds a bit better to say it's a $100 experience, which sounds like a better way to explain it. This was a fun experience and I enjoyed most of the items but I would not do this again. I feel some of the courses were a little lack luster and I would rather spend a bit more to do a different experience somewhere else.

Service? 5/5. We spent the entire time talking to the owner Sean as he cooked for us. Sean is truly made for hospitality... he's extremely warm/friendly and made us feel right at home. He even gave us two complimentary dishes -- the zhong dumplings & chicken congee set! SO generous. If we lived in the neighborhood, this would certainly be a regular spot for us. Food? 4/5. Love the menu, which is essentially a collection of some of my childhood favorites. The dishes are also all very homey, albeit a bit more fusion/creative than traditional. We had the below items: Hong Kong Claypot Rice du Jour (with chicken & lapcheong) - they nailed the crispy rice at the bottom!! While it wasn't the most fragrant claypot rice I've had (the lapcheong is store bought vs. home-cured, which makes a big difference), the savory/sweet sauce and the rice texture certainly hit the spot. Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice - I loved the ridiculously tender braised pork! The sauce was also very flavorful, although it was a bit sweeter than the typical lu rou fan in Taiwan. However, my husband absolutely loved this dish. Smashed Cucumbers - So refreshing and addicting. We couldn't stop eating one bite after another. It was a great appetizer and opened up our appetites. Zhong Dumplings - The sauce on these dumplings are indescribably delicious. Spicy, sweet, and oh-so-fragrant... we crushed every drop of it. Chicken Congee Set - This reminded me of my mom's congee! Loved that it's served with a side of rou sung (pork floss), zha cai (picked veggies), and fu ru (fermented bean curd)... just the way I like it! Service was friendly, helpful with any questions that we had, and checked in here and there. We had ordered the rock cod and mapo tofu along with the zhong dumplings, smashed cucumber, and fish fragrant eggplant to share. My favorites were the smashed cucumber and the mapo tofu. The sauce on the cucumber was really well balanced. It was a great compliment to the eggplant and mapo tofu which were heavy on the spice. The mapo tofu the sauce was clean with just a bit of tingle; not over powering in that sense. I'd want the sauce to inundate the tofu tho but it's just a different application. For the eggplant, the flavor was good and the meat of it was cooked through. The skin however wasn't on all of it making it hard to bite through depending on which piece you got. The zhong dumplings had a nice balance for sweet and savory though I didn't notice the spiciness as much. The rock cod was well cooked though I didn't try it myself since I was limiting meats/seafood that day. Overall, the application of spice and chilis made for really balanced flavors across the board. We'll certainly be back through to try out more of the menu. It's nice to see more options for asian flavors popping up in the area over the last few years.
