We came here on a Sunday evening, and the place was about half full. There's only one server so expect to wait a little bit for Sevice. Banchans: Personally Banchans tell me how good a Korean restaurant will be. This one was OK. I liked it enough that I would visit considering it is in the north Bay and they're not many Korean restaurants that would even try to put together a decent Banchan Selection. Seafood, Pancake: the seafood pancake is on the thicker side and packed with veggies and seafood, and is crispy. Not the best I've had, but it's pretty good even if you consider the ones in the Bay Area. Bibimbap: this was packed for the veggies and came with a serving of beef as well. Egg was perfectly cooked and I loved the sauce that came with it. It was a very savory smoky gochugang sauce that really type the dish together. Probably one of the best bibimbaps I've ever had. Gochujang chicken: personally this was a disappointment to me because it tasted more like a teriyaki chicken, even though we confirmed with the waiter it was gochujang. This was very sweet and heavily sauced. This is definitely a restaurant. I will be returning to multiple times in the future because it is a very authentic Korean dining experience that the north Bay severely lacks. read more

The food was not good. Not that it was necessarily bad, but it was definitely below average. Zero flavor. I had the hot stone bibimbap, and the portion was small. There was terribly little meat--it was mainly rice with just a few toppings. The service was okay. Everyone was polite, but the staff didn't seem very knowledgeable. Almost every question we had, they had to run and ask someone else. As for the atmosphere, it felt like a basic restaurant in a strip mall, and I think that says everything. read more

I wanted to like this place so bad, I miss my Korean food having formally lived and worked by Korea Town in LA. I saw this place has a pork belly dish which made me miss the bossam I used to get. Well let's just say this is not it. The waiter said it was bossam- but it had no flavor. It was cut super thick, and the texture of the pork was stringy which leads to believe it was frozen for awhile. It was called "soy braised pork belly" but it tasted like boiled pork belly. i also got the grilled squid appetizer and it was decent though the sauce was very sweet and took away from the flavor. Lastly and also importantly the service was horrible. When I walked in the girl behind the counter didn't even look up. Then a waiter came to help me but I came here after work by myself and the waiter literally frowned when I said I wanted a table for 1. One of my most favorite things about Korean places is the banchan. I love the pickled cucumbers, fish cakes, just something to snack on as you wait for your food. I didn't get any- so I assumed they just didn't have any. However when I walked out I noticed every table has some, except they never gave me any. Great new spot for Asian fusion! We popped in on a Monday night to check out what so the fuss was all about. Been seeing a lot on socials and wanted to give it a try. Dining run is clean and decor is nice. We were quickly greeted and seated and provided menus. They offer a broad menu - from Korean to Japanese. There are tons of favorites on this menu - from bento, army stew, bulgogi, bibimbap, udon, and more! We opted for udon, and a bento box. The udon was huge, served piping hot! Bento was a hybrid - I got chicken katsu, and it came with gyoza, banchan (assorted tasty bits of pickled vegetables, fish cakes, kimchi, etc). It came with a beautiful side salad and a nice miso soup. Service was on point, even though they were busy, and were had a great dining experience overall. The chef even came out to say hi as we were leaving. This is a great new addition to Santa Rosa - we will be sure to come back soon to try more! read more

We were in town with a group of six for our kids spring break and decided to eat here for dinner on one of our nights here. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was amazing, the food was so delicious, and the ambience was perfect. My son love the chicken wings, our kids love the Ramen, and we shared the bimbimbap, eel, bugolgi. The ban chan was delicious and our kids loved it! We will definitely return when we are back in town. We didn't know it was a new restaurant but we definitely wish them the very best and hope their business continues to flourish. Definitely recommend if you're in town. read more

I'm being generous with the 4 stars. Really, more like 3.5. But since this is a new restaurant, there's room for improvement, and I hope they do! Because I was excited to see there was a new Korean restaurant, considering there is only one other one. We went last weekend, and we got the Army Stew, tteokbokki and the seafood pancake, and I had issues with all of them. Firstly, you know a restaurant is still working out its issues when the main comes out before the appetizers. The Army Stew came out first. If you don't know Army Stew, it's usually a big stew shared by 2 to 4 people. It USUALLY comes out boiling hot, sometimes over a flame to continue to keep it hot as you eat it. Army Stew comes from the Korean war times, when they received rations of spam and sausage, ramen, veggies, tofu, kimchi and basically whatever you have, all thrown together to make this boiling hot comforting stew. And so, when our Army Stew was brought out to us, and it was in this flat but big bowl, and it was luke warm, I was disappointed. And there was enough for my husband and I to share (with other foods), but still, for $29, I expect it to be hot and comforting and delicious. I will say that the broth was tasty, and everything tasted pretty good, but it did not feel worth it. Because the next issue was that it had spam in it, with mushrooms, cabbage, ramen, but that was really it. There were no other meats, it didn't feel substantiative like Army Stew usually is. So, it just didn't hit the spot in the same way. I will say that it was still tasty, and so I will give it that. But it didn't feel all that authentic. For $29, I expected more. As my husband would put it, "I just wanted it to be a little more kickass" Next, the seafood pancake. I am mad at the other korean restaurant for having a seafood pancake that's $28, so I refuse to go there. Here, it's $14 but it's tiny. The pancake itself had a lot of seafood and scallions, but again, it was luke warm, and there was no crisp to it. Just kinda soggy. The tteokbokki was probably the best thing, but not without issue. It came out with cheese on top, and the rice cake was soft and chewy, but there was hardly any sauce on it. Part of the charm of tteokbokki is that fiery red sauce you're eating with it. This was coated lightly, and that was it. And so, as you can see, I am being generous with my rating. Everything tasted pretty good, but huge holes are missing in the experience. Lastly, they had banchan, but they didn't give it to us until we asked about it. At least they didn't charge us for it, but banchan is usually placed down in front of us right after you order. And there was no cabbage kimchi which felt weird to me. (Banchan are small dishes that are served with korean meals, for those who do not know.) Anyhow... I don't think this place is run by Koreans. I think they were playing mandarin music? ...Which isn't a huge deal if the food is on point. It just wasn't, and kinda expensive for what we're getting. And so, we'll likely not be coming back for a while, and just see if they shape up. It's just sad because there is such huge opportunity here. People freaking love Korean culture right now, and if it can be done well, it would be pretty huge and awesome. I know there aren't a ton of asians in Santa Rosa, and so, we take what we can get. But again, in the words of my husband (who is white), "I just wanted it to be a little more kickass." We can pray. And may it be so. read more

Came here on a Friday night with my husband and son! Excited that there's another Korean restaurant in Santa Rosa! They do have some Japanese food items but it's more Korean forward. I've been to this place before when it was Toyo and the new decor is more of a modern minimalist clean vibe. We ordered the Kimchi pancake, galbi jjim, and seolleontang! After we ordered they gave us 6 banchan items! All were good! Kimchi pancake was smaller but the price was also cheaper compared to other places. Galbi jjim was very tender and flavorful. Now I've only had this dish one other time at a daeho and it came with a sauce. The galbi jjim here had so sauce and a smaller portion. But once again the price was also cheaper. Was really excited for the seolleontang but was surprised that it didn't have that milky broth look. The broth was brown. Flavor was good but not as rich as ones I've had before. Also it took a while for the soup to come out and gave us another rice on the house. I would say this place has good Korean food for Santa Rosa but not as good compared to the Bay Area. Been here about 3 times with friends, actually the first time, they were barely opened. It's a super-convenient place in an outdoor shopping center with plenty of parking. The good is kinda a mish-mash of things, and the service is good, the wine is reasonably priced, the place is clean. They're still adjusting, at least it felt that way, so I hope they tweak their meals for a bit more authenticity and less like fast-food/take-out friendly fare, although that's ok, too. It's really nice for a big group like we had one time, and small groups the others. I would focus on the sundubu and other Korean dishes, less on the others. read more

As someone Korean, I don't say this lightly but this place is the real deal if you are looking for Korean food north of Golden Gate! From the moment the food hit the table, you could tell there was care, and authenticity behind every dish. The soups were absolutely outstanding rich, deeply flavored, and comforting. The gamjatang was especially memorable: tender pork, perfectly cooked potatoes, and that bold, savory broth with layers of spice and umami. You could taste the time and tradition in it. They also brought out a burner so the soup would stay warm throughout the entire meal. The yukgaejang had that perfect balance of heat and richness, with shredded beef and egg woven beautifully into the broth. We also had the bibimbap, which was excellent, fresh, with vibrant vegetables, a perfectly cooked egg, and great balance overall. The tteokbokki was awesome and just the right amount of chewy in a flavorful, spicy sauce that hit just right. And the ramen was fantastic as well, rich and satisfying with great depth of flavor. In addition, we also tried the Korean chicken soup (samgyetang), and it was incredible! The soup was light yet deeply flavorful, comforting, and exactly what you'd hope for in a traditional dish. The banchan lineup was just as impressive fresh, vibrant, and clearly made in-house. What stood out most was the balance: nothing felt rushed or overly commercialized. This felt like food made with pride and respect for the Korean tradition. If you're looking for authentic Korean food or gives you a true taste of it this place absolutely delivers. Highly recommend. I came here for a late lunch as I was in the area and saw that the good ratings. I am from a rural town about an hour and a half north and I really miss Korean food, so I was excited to try this. I am from the Bay Area and Los Angeles and I really miss having good Korean food nearby. The menu is a little all over the place with Japanese items on one side and Korean on the other. Then there is also Pho, so I am not sure where that came from. The other patrons were a lot of middle age to older women and the music in the background was 70's classic rock, which was a little odd. I started with some agedashi tofu to start. (yeah, I came in for Korean food and I get a Japanese starter, lol). But this is one of my favorite things that is very simple, but if made well, is really special. But it rarely is because people just pop firm tofu in the fryer with batter which is nasty. So I started to ask my server whether it was made with soft or firm tofu and she kind of interrupted me, thinking I was asking what it even was. But she then answered "soft" which was the right answer. It was a big portion, with soft tofu dipped in potato starch and fried. The outside was crispy and the inside retained its nice custardy filling. Dipping sauce was a common tempura dipping sauce. Normally, there are some bonito flakes on it, but the textures were perfect and I enjoyed it. The banchan was kinda boring. There were only six and four were kim chee or kim chee adjacent, yet none of them had any spice to them, which was weird. They were fine and tasty, but just very mild. They do not refill the banchan. I like Kim Chee with some kick. For my entree, I ordered the pan-fried mackerel. When it came out, it looked overcooked so I was first a little disappointed, thinking it would be dry, but then I cut into it and was very pleasantly surprised. It was BEAUTIFULLY cooked!! It was crispy on the outside, but soft and fresh and juicy on the inside. It was the best mackerel I have ever had, seriously! The portion was huge with two large fillets, perfectly boned. I thought I was only going to eat one and ended up eating both! It was seasoned perfectly, but by the time I was eating the second, I really needed some spice and there are zero condiments on the table, so I asked for some chili sauce or gojujang, and was given chili oil and a little bowl of gojujang, the chili oil was oddly not spicy, though. Overall, I was very very pleased with the quality of the cooking here. But I think they need to put some condiments on the table. I needed to spice it up. Not even the kim chee was spicy! The mackeral also came with a giant pile of pickled ginger that did not go with the dish at all. The cooking was excellent. The crunch on the mackerel was epic. Portions were generous and price was reasonable. My big lunch was $30 and I could have shared it easily with another person. Service was not terribly attentive, but the place was quiet and clean. Can't wait to try other things here and I hope they change up the banchan. read more

This is out first visit to Seoul To Tokyo and it did not disappoint! We wanted to try a little bit of everything so we started with gyoza, naturally it's our daughter's favorite, japchae and edamame. The japchae was a huge portion and yummy. Gyoza was crispy and flavorful. Edamame was cooked perfectly and salted just the right amount. We also ordered the spicy pork and seolleongtang. The spicy pork melted in your mouth, came sizzling on the plate. The seolleongtang was warm and comforting and everything you would want in a soup. Banchans were a nice added touch, the garlic shoots were 10/10. The cucumber kimchi and cabbage kimchi were really tasty. They treated us so nicely, checked in on us and even made a steamed egg dish that was very good! Ambiance was low light, nice decor and soft jams. Stopped here on a Friday night just after they opened with my wife. They were very kind and attentive the whole time. The food was very good. You get plenty of traditional Korean sides at each table they are included and they refil as needed. My wife loved the pho, and I had a grill pork and rice dish with some soup. All was exceptional. We told them we had a reservation and she said she didn't know what to say or do. Another person came up and he said the same thing, that he was sorry but they have no tables. In that amount of time someone had finished so they said actually we can give you a table. No one came to take our orders for at least 10-15 minutes. We never received our appetizer but they tried to charge us for it. The food was decent. Food alone I would give a 3/4 star. read more

I like Japanese food, but went for the Korean thanks to my current fascination with kdramas . In fact, I just received a couple of Korean chopstick and spoon sets. Anyway, having tried Korean BBQ mostly over the years, I ordered a variety of dishes new to me. They were outstanding. The flavors were fresh and multilayered. My somewhat skeptical husband thought the food was great. As to portions, I ate my fill and you practically couldn't tell I had. We did takeout delivery since I am a Carryout Queen, and still the dishes tasted wonderful. I am so excited that this restaurant has come to Santa Rosa. I have been resigned to less than exciting versions of Korean dishes here and in Hawaii, but this place blew me away. I saw that someone who knows authentic Korean well, was also truly impressed, so I feel validated . FWIW Safeway has soju. . 10 stars easily. read more
