Easy 5 stars! Great food and very reasonable prices. Thank goodness for yelp because without it we would not have tried this place, and that would have been a shame to miss out on such a gem. We ordered the mussels app...they were plump in a flavorful but not overly spicy broth. For entries I ordered the won ton udon soup. AMAZING chicken broth with homemade pork dumplings and slices of pork toped with fried and fresh onions. My 2 year old son loved it so much I think He ate more than me. My husband had the bibimbop. Sweet and spicy sauce mixed well with the crispy rice being cooked while he ate in the hot clay bowl. The menu is eclectic. This is a quality five star based on their sizzling hot dish. You can tell right away they used very fresh ingredients. The beef, bell peppers and onions were superbly fresh. On the way, I got to see historic downtown Lowell MA. This is a must visit if you are anywhere near Boston. One of the best hot dish type food around. I am glad I came. As a newbie to Lowell I am now discovering that some of the best restaurants are off the beaten path. It's location just a block or so from the main part of Merrimack street means that it may go unnoticed. My husband and I stopped in and the food was fantastic. The best mean I've had in Lowell. I had a Korean style bowl that was seasoned to perfection. I think the owners should invest in small flyer cards that could be left in local businesses so more people would know that they are there. City planners should think about how to further develop the strip of Merrimack St. where this restaurant is located. read more

The best food in our area. Sizzling Scampi is the most delicious dish. We love the vegetarian tenders with sweet cilantro dipping sauce but all the sauces are great. Vermicelli bowl is terrific too. Best food near me. I ordered to sizzling spicy tofu and it came hot and spicy. Dish came with a brown rice as side. Large chunks of topu came with nice sizzling in a hot tawa. I love the taste as I like spicy food. For me downside is the dish felt sweet along with spicy. As I was expecting it to spicy, I didn't like it to be sweet. Yesterday was my first visit to Sizzling Kitchen for lunch. The decor wasn't what I was expecting but the place was clean and the server was inviting. What drew me in was the diverse menu. They have an interesting mix of Italian seafood, Korean and some American fare. I tried their beef bibimbap and was not disappointed by the taste, presentation nor the price. I am visiting my family from California and I am in lowell for 2 weeks. My friend Savin told me that there is a Korean place I should try locally and this place is small but awesome! The minute we walked in we were greeted. The place was quite slow but it was comfortable. I ordered the seafood bibimbop and wonton soup. The bibimbop was bland but I added my own seasoning to it. The wonton soup was okay. It needed more flavors to it and the wonton was not fresh or homemade. My friend ordered the mekathang and it was slimy and after 4 bites, the flavors got salty and watery. The service was good. I might need to try stuff other things on the menu next time read more

Lunch at Sizzling Kitchen is a treat! I tried two different kinds of rolls - the coconut chicken roll and the kimchee roll - and enjoyed them both. The mix of hot and cold ingredients was tantalizing and the accompanying dipping sauces were spectacular. What a great place! Went in today for lunch and had an AMAZING Crispy Mee Ka Tang dish. The vegetable were extremely fresh and best of all I didnt leave feeling like a fatty. The noodles were obviously crisped in clean oil and the care with which they were made showed. We also has the Sizzling Kitchen Rolls which were just as delicious. Not sure what happened and if it's just a fluke today. Been here before and it's been fine. But today, myself and a coworker came for lunch. Sat down at 12:30. Ordered spring roll app, and wings and Stir fry noodles. Coworker ordered a drink. a few mins in we get spring rolls. At this time server asked how we wanted the wings (sauce and such) and so we told them, we thought it was great that they checked to make sure. Myself and coworker just having conversation and notices it's 1:15 now. all we have gotten at this point is the spring rolls and our lunch is almost over (having to get back to work) so as this time we ask that our order be to go. 1:25~ we get the togo. We checked the wing ordered was the wrong so my coworker having spent 1hr waiting for our food didn't even get her correct food so now she doesn't have a lunch to eat even getting back to work. It didn't look busy, they had 2-3 other tables of guest. Even so if they were more busy then that still left us in a bad service. 1hr to get our food, got the wrong order and coworker didn't get her drink. read more

Got take out for lunch. I called to order ahead. Lady was nice. I got the Lemon chicken pappardelle but they were out of pappardelle so they subbed it for linguini. She said it would be ready in 15 mins. I arrived about 20 mins later and went in paid and the food wasn't ready i wait about another 10 mins (kinda upsetting cause I did call ahead). After a matinee performance the Merrimack Repertory Theater, my Honey and I decided to try Sizzling Kitchen on Merrimack St. in Lowell, MA. The experience was excellent from the very beginning! We were cheerfully greeted as we enter the restaurant. We arrived well before the regular dinner hour, so we were seated immediately. The small dining room was eclectically decorated and was also all decked out for the holidays in a happy festive manner. Colors are everywhere! We started with shrimp coconut spring rolls. They were very fresh and pleasingly plump. They were prepared perfectly. The cilantro dipping sauce was amazing and a MUST HAVE. My Honey ordered the sizzling shaker beef with black pepper garlic sauce. She also had brown rice with her dinner. The meal was presented at the table popping and snapping on a sizzling platter. She noted the beef was tender and flavorful. The sauce was excellent, pleasing and delicious. The fresh cherry tomatoes that were among the vegetables within the dish were perfectly ripe and had a wonderful sweet taste. She had a smile on her face until the last bite was gone. I have been to Korea many times and really like a very popular Korean dish known as Bibimbap. So I decided to try the Sizzling Kitchen version. I ordered the Bibimbap with spicy chicken. It was delivered to our table exactly as it is in Korea. The aroma, contents and taste was exactly as I had experienced in Seoul during my travels there. I loved every morsel. The hot sauce, served on the side so you can flavor the dish to your individual desires, is just as fiery hot and tastes the same as it does in Seoul. Water was my Honey's drink selection, but I ordered a mango fruit shake. It was a generous portion of an icy cold mango smoothie. So thick I actually ate it with a spoon! It was a great compliment to the spice of my dinner selection. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The chef visited our table twice to get our feedback on his creations. Great touch in my book, when the chef has that much interest in the direct feedback of his customers. No wonder the taste and quality of our dinners were A+. I highly recommend this dining experience. We will be back soon to explore the many other Asian and Italian (yes, that's right "italian") selections on the eclectic menu! So long story short was stuck in the area and was starving!!! Stopped at this small 10 table spot, now we had some reservations mainly because of the surrounding esthetics. So we ordered apps to test out the place. First round was daily special chicken wings and wonton soup. The chicken was amazing, super crispy and moist with the perfect amount of sauce. The soup is an entire portion and great amount for three people sharing. If I lived closer I would eat this chicken wings once a week ! Both items had good flavor and unique to this kitchen, so we ordered pad Thai, sizzling steak and a rice bowl. Everyone loved the steak and the bowl! The pad Thai is unique not bad just different. You can't think the common flavors you have at other places. Also the price point for the size of the plate is great! $8.50 for the wanton soup as well same price for pad Thai and there was plenty to take home. Yes, great food but four stars- why? On a cold day we were freezing ( the soup helped) and on a Sunday the one lady running tables was busy, trying to get her attention wasn't the easiest. read more

We went to this restaurant before a concert at the Tsongas Arena. What a great, little restaurant. The location is perfect - within walking distance from the arena. The atmosphere was casual but relaxing. The food was surprisingly good. Surprising because they offered Korean, Italian and Vietnamese food; kind of an odd combination. We ordered a combination of Korean and Vietnamese dishes. The spring rolls were delicious. Everyone enjoyed their pho. I had the pad Thai and it was delicious. The Korean bibimbap was quite good too. Our first time going & we'll for sure be going back. We were initially greeted by a nice young woman who promptly seated us. As I looked over the menu there were a number of items that I wanted to taste and try. Knowing that I can only eat so much I decided not to be too greedy so both me and my boyfriend ordered an app & entree each. I ordered the Siracha Honey Wings - to die for!!! & my boyfriend started with Egg Rolls. Both were amazing. The egg rolls were crisp, and the dipping sauce was light yet flavorful. The food was very dry, and for Asian cuisine, very bland. Even the rice...was a large clump of sticky, flavorless starchballs. I haven't tried any of the Italian food. I'm not sure I want to try. I was excited to try this place based off of some of the Yelp reviews and my sister's word of mouth. Needless to say, I've since renounced her as my sibling.
