This was my first time hiring high desert housekeeping and I loved her. She is great quick and goes above and beyond. All of our beds were made and dishes were done even though I didn't ask her to do them. My son's dresser had so much stuff on top of it and Sandra made it very organized. I'm dissatisfied with my very expensive first clean. Keep in mind I have always had weekly cleanings done, I was just looking for more detailed work. My kitchen sink counter still had food around it. The master sinks counter was not done. I have all laminate flooring and specifically asked Sandra to make sure my pantry and closets were vacuumed and mopped and they were not. There was a spot of egg yolk on the kitchen floor. My kitchen cabinets are white and were left with dust and food. I asked Sandra for the inside of my refrigerator to be wiped out and it wasn't. Under my kids beds were left with dust and water bugs, which are elevated from the floor. My laundry room floor was not mopped and there was liquid laundry soap on the floor. So, I usually pay $100 per week. This time I trusted Sandra as she raves about her detailed work, and paid her and her partner $250 for the first cleaning, supposedly deep. What an insult. High Desert Housekeeping is also known as High Desert Maid Services and Sandra's Cleaning. They Cancelled 5 times on us. They are very Unreliable, Unprofessional, & have Terrible Work Ethic. Sandra is very nice, but she does not communicate well. Keep reading to see all the excuses used to cancel and the Warning of products she uses. ***Addendum to my original review. Sandra replied to my review with a lie, then deleted it & replied with another lie saying she only cancelled once. (She lacks integrity.) She copied & pasted a long message I wrote, However, it was long because she wanted to use BLEACH on my beautiful cabinets, brand new brushed nickel faucets, and on my expensive tile floors & counters, (bleach breaks down glaze on tile, and makes grout brittle, ruins certain metals, etc.) I wanted to prove to her that bleach is not an all purpose cleaner. Also, she uses an ineffective broom and mop, so I wanted her to use mine. Lastly, I was very sick for 2 years and still recovering. It was important that she knew that I didn't want other people's germs & viruses tracked into my home. That message melts down to this: Use MY mop, broom & vacuum cleaner and only use bleach on the toilet & bathtub. I will provide cleaner for the floors & counters. Somehow, she was not able to understand that. Besides, WHAT DOES ANY OF THAT HAVE TO DO with ALL THE CANCELLATIONS and today's No Show? 4 cancellations BEFORE my long message and no notice that she wasn't coming today. Just left me hanging. I sent several messages to her today, then at 4:16, she replied, ""Sorry, I had a emergency, I can't attend the phone."" That's doubtful. I went on Home Adviser 2 months ago looking to replace my current maids. Sandra responded & said she could be at my house that Wednesday. When Wednesday came, she said she couldn't make it and rescheduled for Friday. (1st cancellation.) Friday came, again I got a text asking if I could reschedule. I ignored the message because clearly she was not dependable and had bad work ethics. (Cancellation #2). I went to Yelp looking for a maid service 2 weeks ago and found High Desert Housekeeping (Not knowing they were also Sandra's Cleaning.). Sandra messaged me stating that she had Monday & Tuesday open and said she was going to Mexico and would be back Monday. So I chose Monday, thinking she might come later since she would be getting back in the afternoon, but she never called, I had to contact her. (Cancellation #3). We then scheduled for the next week. Sandra showed up Severely LATE, but I finally got a work order stating the price for 2 housekeepers, for 2 hours of work, at 2:00pm Monday (today). Why was she late? Because SHE WASN'T COMING! I had to remind her that we had an appointment. While she was here, she told me that I had contacted her a couple months ago. That's when I realized High Desert Housekeeping & Sandra's Cleaning were the same. I thought I was just having bad luck with cleaning services, but no, I contacted 2 of HER 3 business names. So she scheduled me for the following Monday (Today). My house is overdue for cleaning, so I asked if she could come sooner if she got a cancellation. That night she sent a message stating that her Wednesday customer cancelled and she could come Wednesday. I agreed. Wednesday comes along and you guessed it, she sent me a message that said, "Sorry, the customer was booked for today called me and I have to cancell you. Sorry. Have a good day." (Cancellation #4.) At this point, I was disgusted with her work ethic and unprofessional manner, however I decided to give High Desert Housekeeping one more chance, so I messaged her stating that I guess I will see her on my Original Scheduled Appointment at 2:00pm on Monday. So here we are, Monday night and she did not so much as call, text or email that she wasn't coming. I have to say though, I KNEW she would not show up today. (This is No Show #5). I would ADVISE anyone looking for a reliable housekeeper to AVOID High Desert Housekeeping AKA Sandra's Cleaning and High Desert Maid Service. WORD OF WARNING: She said she uses bleach on everything...Floors, counters, cupboards, etc. Bleach, deteriorates glaze on Tile, it slowly eats away grout and makes it unstable, & it slowly corrodes metal on faucets. She also uses AUTOMOTIVE CLEANER on stove burners. I hope she doesn't use that in ovens as the heat will mix the toxic chemical with food. I hold a degree in Math & Science, and have a Registered Nursing background...I research everything. When looking for products that are safe for your home, CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER (the source) or ask professionals who deal with those materials. The best thing to use on these surfaces is a pH Neutral product Many online blog writers and service providers don't research products or home surface materials, and may pass on unreliable information.
