We just moved to the area and stopped in on Friday night -- what a find! My husband ordered the veggie pizza, loaded with fresh, flavorful toppings, and I had the kale and quinoa salad with salmon added. The salad was really interesting: fresh and hearty, with some mint that gave it a really nice, unexpected brightness. The salmon (about 4 oz) was tender and perfectly cooked. But honestly, the food was only part of what made the night special. The hospitality here is next-level. Our server Jordan was friendly and genuine, our busboy Javier was incredibly attentive, and another server even swung by just to check in on us. The manager was out on the floor and clearly engaged with what was happening at every table. I don't think I've ever seen a restaurant staff work together so seamlessly, cheerfully, and attentively -- it was remarkable to watch. When we mentioned to the manager how impressed we were with the staff, he came back to our table with a free cookie -- a small gesture, but it summed up the hospitality of the place. We found that champagnes kitchen's five (5) lemon ricotta beignets were somewhat disappointing. They were simply donut hole sized, oil laden deep fried dough bas. It probably was our aversion to leaky, grease laden fried foods? As for favor, once some of the excess grease was removed and drained on a paper napkin, they were okay. I've been to Cafe Du Monde in N'awlins and had the best beignets in the U.S of A ( I'm obviously very opinionated.) a beignet isn't just a deep fried, greasy donut hole. Plus unfortunately their coffee (black) was not what I'd call good. (Restaurant Farmers brand coffee is the best) if they use Farmers, they screed it up big toe. Even the bitter roasted chicory "coffee" served in the old South's N'awlins restaurant's is lot'sa Mo bettah. Mind you, remember I warned you that I was very opinionated. Sorry bout the negativity and bad review but the truth sometimes hurts! I'm reminded of the Latin maxim..., "De gustibus non est disputandum". I've been coming here a couple times for years now. Each time it has been a pleasant experience. If you are dining in, you can find a table and sit down. I did make reservations, which I'm not sure I needed. Since all the tables were full, luckily they were able to find a table for us. I really wanted to try the restaurant week menu which looked delicious to me. I'm a huge fan of lemon and when I saw this dessert, I knew I had to try it. We also got the Caesar salad, which was very crisp and fresh. I opted for the salmon, and it was delicious! I would totally get it again. My friend has a tri-tip and really enjoyed that as well. The green beans were very tasty too. The lemon tart was my favorite. Refreshing and tangy. Definitely a great deal! The salads are also very good that I've had here as well. Definitely worth a visit. This is my second visit and it was as good as the first. They have an extensive menu while not being intimidating i.e. there is something for everyone. We love the food, service and ambiance at champagnes. The tomato soup, ceasar salad, chicken piccata, and tuna sandwhich are some personal favorites, but you really cannot go wrong! They have an excellent children's menu with extremely reasonable prices. David has always taken such wonderful care of our family, he is incredibly knowledgeable of the food items and wine options- and really takes care of everyone with exceptional service. We love sitting on the patio, great lighting and music as well. It does get super busy at dinnertime, but the food always arrives quickly. We really enjoy eating here not just because the food is outstanding, but because each employee greets us with a smile on their face. We eat here at least once a week and love the wine specials. A quick to go lunch with an unexpected delicious treat included. Service is quick, friendly and efficient. Kaitlyn took my order and was so pleasant and courteous. I ordered the honey maple turkey on baguette, with provolone, lite mayo and mustard. The sandwich was sizable, enough to share and delicious. The turkey comes shaved thin and stacked on bread. I opted for a chocolate chunk cookie that was on the counter. It's large and one of the best cookies I've had in a very long time. Soooooo Goood and at $4.00 it's a great bargain. I joined a new app called "InKind" which offers discounts and noticed Champagnes Kitchen was on the list and thought I would give it a try. Ordered the Mediterranean salad with chicken for my wife and the Southwestern French dip for myself. Both were tasty and well prepared and the service was friendly and prompt. Will definitely return and try the Mediterranean omelette the next time (breakfast ends at 11-maybe extending it to 12 would be nice as many restaurants offer breakfast even all day). read more

WOW what a fantastic replacement for ihop! Went with the fam on locals soft opening and were absolutely delighted! This will be our go to spot for dates or when family visits and we want convenient, upscale, healthy, local & high value! I think it was Haley's fist night serving ever and she handled the opening hiccups like a champ as did the manager, Jacob(??)! We had to bail early and cancel 1 burger as kitchen was backed up, but they took care of us like family and sent it home with us comped, thanks! I don't normally order burgers out- it's the safe bet wife often gets but I was stoked I followed suit. Since pizza and pot pie were out (a good sign/can't wait to return) we ordered 2 cheeseburgers. Bun was boutique bakery level good, perfectly toasted inside, soft fluffy outside. Meat was obviously well sourced & perfectly cooked to order as were the fixings. I got aioli on the side cuz it's usually sloppy overpowering but not yours. The thin sweet potato fries were cold at first but the piping hot replacements were primo! And the cookie- OMG! Literally just happened on this incredible little bistro and we were so impressed with everything. The staff are extremely friendly. The place is exceptionally clean and the food was fantastic. We had the chicken avocado Panini and the kids had chicken fingers and fries and everything was absolutely top-notch. My wife and I decided to have breakfast here this morning on our way to Bristol Farms in CDL. Based upon the positive reviews and pictures, it was a total disappointment. The place is nice inside, but that's about it. You order from the counter, and we both ordered the eggs Benedict, and I added a side of the chicken apple sausage. My wife ordered coffee and they handed her a paper cup and pointed to the coffee thermos. I asked for water and they pointed me to a cooler that has Fiji water. The guy at the register rings up our order and it says $63.56 (before tip). Of course the tip part shows on the point of sale screen before signing the amount, and felt guilt tripped in to adding a 20% tip. By the way, the employees really do nothing there that's different from a fast food place. It's like ordering at the counter from McDonalds, except they have an expediter that brings only the food to your table. You, being the patron does everything else. There was only 4 tables occupied with customers that had their food already. They have an open kitchen and I was watching the only expediter chit chatting with the kitchen cook and register guy, and we waited about 15 minutes before I could see one order of the eggs Benedict sitting at the pass under a lamp. It took the cook another 8 minutes to get the order up. Why couldn't he do both orders at the same time instead of having one order sit at the pass for 8 minutes? Finally the expediter brings us our plates and drops off 3 small sausage links in a small plate on the table. The Benedicts looked good, but then trying to cut into the Benedict, it fell well short. The brioche bread base was not soft or fresh. It was kind of on the stale side. Cutting it with a butter knife just tore up the Benedict so now the eggs are off the bread base, and all of the other items that make up the Benedict are scattered separately on the plate making it a deconstructive Benedict. The eggs were barely warm, the arugula was cold and must have been pulled out of the cooler, and the tomatoes were of the Sysco variety that are hard, no flavor, and not ripe. The bacon under the eggs were bacon crumbles. Not even a strip of bacon. You could tell they precooked the bacon and crumbled them into a container in the kitchen and may have been cooked, crumbled, and stored from the morning before. The chicken apple sausages were small, dry, and was exactly like you would expect from an Embassy Suite hotel buffet, sitting in those stainless steel buffet trays. Champagne, you can do much better for the exorbitant price you charge. Just because you are in Newport Beach doesn't mean you should charge a fortune for a poorly executed breakfast that a coffee shop or Denny's can do much better Get it together! Lesson learned, we'll never go back. I will also never pre-tip when ordering at a counter point of sale system set up. I will wait and pay cash after the meal to judge how the service and food is. read more

We were in Huntington Beach for the day on Tuesday. As we were leaving Starbucks we noticed that the pancake house was now Champagnes! We walked across the street and asked if it was related to the Champagnes on Bison in Newport. We absolutely had to go get a table on the patio and spent the rest of the evening there! Amazing young wait staff! All were very friendly and had great personalities! Very welcoming! Thomas was our server, such a cutie! He told us about the happy hour and went over the wine list with us. We paced ourselves and enjoyed snacks, salads, wine and finished the evening with their delicious Moon Goat coffee. They were all great hosts!! We went to Champagne's for the first time yesterday and honestly, this place really hits the mark! From the moment you walk in, literally everyone is SO welcoming and friendly. I've never been somewhere where it is so natural and apparent. It makes me want to work there! It must be a combination of inherently good people and also good management. Kudos to you all!! On top of that, service is very efficient, attentive, and so courteous. Not to mention the food. We asked for recommendations and they were spot on. The very best fried chicken ever.
