The locals really want this place to succeed, since we all used to love Skidders. So, we finally tried it (since it seems to be empty most of the time). It started out well with a feiendly greeting. But then the server took 20 minutes to come back & take our order! The food was ok. The decor is gorgeous. But after getting our food, the server never came back (again). Had to go get one of the other 5 employees, who were standing around the bar talking, to go find our server to give us our check. I would understand if they were busy but, there was only one other table occupied in the place. Ugh...all you had to do was give good service and you failed miserably. read more

Loved Skidder's for years! Went recently for dinner. The Gyro had microwaved gyro meat, three slices in a giant pita. It was ghastly. Partner had Greek Salad with Gyro meat... the meat was again, three slices of microwaved meat. The greens were fresh and salad was huge, but again, where's the meat? Vacationing for NH April break. We had a friendly server named Megan! Megan was so courteous, we really appreciated the attention to detail and her timing was just right. We haven't been to Skidders since they changed management...it was absolutely delicious! All the food was fresh and I particularly loved my spicy Bloody Mary and "breakfast salad" so fresh and a relaxing atmosphere outside on their covered patio. Last night of vacation dinner I was a little reluctant to going here based on some of the recent reviews, I think other diners were as well because it was pretty empty inside. The indoor area is definitely dated, but the outdoor patio section was very cute. The food was pretty good, especially the chicken Marsala and Parmesan. The chicken avocado sandwich was also very large and tasty! Food was VERY HOT. The largest downfall of this experience was our server, Elijah (?). We waited at least 15 mins to get a drink order, which he only brought us water and did not offer us a drink menu. Food came out fast but again had to wait forever for our check. Another server noticed that us and another table had been waiting a while and went to fetch our waiter to bring our bills. We ended up doing scan to pay because we were worried how much longer it would take him to bring our card back. read more

They list the classics when it comes to good diner food to a perfectly made thin pizza. I came here today to get my mother their homemade chicken & rice soup. They make the best soups here. They have out door seating as well as seating in their newly remodeled dining area. The owners are so kind that they make you feel like a long time regular. The food is good but disappointed in service. Usually every time I'm at the beach I would try and stop in the most recent was the worst experience. The price for my omelette ended up being insane! Ad $2.50 for egg whites, add$1.75 for mushrooms, paying $20 for an omelette with spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes and feta was a bit much. Waited about 15 mins to be served, front girl was too busy running outside or talking with bus boy. Had to wait for receipt and the place was pretty much empty. No staff visible for a lot of the time all in back. Management must've been on vacation for the holiday because usually it is never this bad. We had dinner at Skidders while on vacation in St Pete's The salads were nice, veggies were very fresh. I had the spinach pie, it's listed as an appetizer but its more than adequate for an entree I could only eat half after the Greek salad. The filling was tasty, the pillo was flacky. My husband had stuffed flounder, another tasty dish. Unfortunately I was so looking forward to having baklava, it was disappointing. The phillo was not flaky more dry and condensed, the dish lacked the honey taste one expects from a good baklava. Perhaps the ladies at the Greek Orthodox church in St. Louis spoiled me with their excellent baklava. I would go back to Skidders just won't order dessert read more

Wings were undercooked. The server offered to take them and bring fresh ones they brought back the same wings minus the ones we had removed from the plate. The undercooked wings we had taken from the original plate to eat sat on our table until after the new wings arrived... my kids were happy with their meals. An absolute staple to Saint Pete Beach... Skidders restaurant IS A MUST GO! I am currently writing this during the coronavirus and this is the first time I've ever gotten this amazing place to go. Usually when you go eat in at this place, it has a warm Greek feeling that puts you at ease. From the ownership all the way down to the hostess, the people there have a very family welcoming environment. You see exactly what I mean with the photos of the parties they have thrown over the decades. Almost every single time I come down to visit family or for vacation I have to stop in and say hello to Peter (the wonderful manager) and workers. I understand that in this current environment we are in... a lot of restaurants will go out of business. But I'm very excited to see that skidders is open and it seems to be doing well. On this certain night I had a seafood pasta but I have been eating here since 2004 and have gotten anything and everything from a salad to their amazing pizzas this place is a must go if you're stopping at Saint Pete Beach. read more

This is our new favorite! We were happily greeted at the door with such dignity by who we assumed was the owner, due to his warm hearted greetings to everyone, he gave menu and drink recommendations, went from table to table to be sure everyone was having an amazing experience, helping the servers, watching the food as it was being served. I have not seen this much integrity from an employee in years. The inside is just gorgeous, it was recently remodeled. Our server was so professional and made us feel special. The soup, beet salad, the grouper Nashville sandwich were our favorite! I wish I could give 10 stars! Sat at the bar. Waiter was attentive. Ordered the stuffed crabs and the gyro sandwich. Both were palatable at best. The gyro meat was no better than Arby's gyro meat (which I find disgusting compared to real gyro meat, which I know is not true lamb) and the stuffed crabs I "stuffed down" just because I was paying for them. Greeks must not own this restaurant because the Greeks I know do not serve food that is quite this poor, to put it nicely. Huge menu especially if you get here when they start serving lunch. We sat on the patio which was covered. The food choices were pretty good with some Greek twists on a few things.
