The interior decor is beautiful and the restaurant is very clean

Fantastic new restaurant on the beach! The old Skidder's was known for good food and friendly service. The new restaurant has really good food, friendly service, and beautiful decor. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very clean. We visited for breakfast and we really enjoyed our meal. I had the Veggie Omelet with pepper jack cheese. It was large, fresh, and came with a nice serving of home fries. I added a bagel with cream cheese for $4. You can also add toast for $2.50. The coffee was hot and fresh, and our server, Joseph, kept bringing refills. There is lots of parking on the side and in the back. This is a wonderful breakfast spot on the beach! I look forward to visiting again soon for lunch or dinner.

50 minutes to get our food, pizza came out totally burnt...Server said they're making another to go...offered me A small salad "on them" but still charged for the pizza. I hailed the mgr and he took the pizza off.

Came here for brunch and had a wonderful experience. Staff were super welcoming as soon as we stepped in the door and our waiter was super accommodating with providing recommendations. The restaurant is super cute inside and good sized with plenty of setting. I got the build your own omelette and had the option to pick a side. The omelette was super yummy! The side of fruit was an extra up charge but the waiter took it off the bill which was super nice of him. My group of 3 also got the craft of mimosas which equaled to about 2-3 each. Highly recommend getting the craft if you want more than just 1 mimosa. Highly recommend this place for a nice brunch!

Can't say enough great things about this place. We haven't been since it became SKD but we came for brunch and it was truly one the best brunch spots I have been to in the area. The Korean Chicken + waffle was unbelievable! Sweet, a little spice, soft, chewy & the pickled vegetables with sesame seed was the BEST I have ever had. It was the perfect combination, will be back just for this dish for sure. My husband had the PBJ French toast with bacon & they did not skip on the bacon!! Potatoes were seasoned perfectly & the coffee was yummy. I ordered the mimosa flight & it was worth it! I am super impressed with this place, not sure if there has been a change over hence the new name; but whatever it is keep it up! St. Pete Beach must go to for any food lover.

Food was ok. Grits were pretty watery but the dish was still alright. Very cute on the inside and service is alright. Would I go back? Maybe for a drink but not for breakfast.

My daughter and I tried SKD tonight after seeing other reviews. We were not disappointed. Wonderful decor. We shared she Glazed pork chop which was incredible! One of the best meals I have had in a long time anywhere. Also tried the beet salad also very good. Truffle fries were yummy and super crunchy battered fries. We will be back!

TLDR: book a table immediately, you wont regret it: -Very solid pricing -VERY Generous portions -Amazing service - Food quality was **chef's kiss** - food prep: Impressively even temperature through out the sirloin which was thin and a difficult feat for most -Ambiance: family restaurant

We are locals and stopped in for breakfast after getting some fresh air on the beach. They have done a fantastic job in renovating after the storms. It is open with lots of light. The bar area is inviting and would be a great place to enjoy some drinks. We had an excellent experience omelette and a breakfast sandwich. The omelette was fluffy with just the right amount of bacon, onions, tomatoes and cheese. The sandwich was on a bagel that was super fresh! The home fries were delicious. Crispy outside, but soft potato inside! Coffee was also very good. Our server was Bianca and she was great. The Manager, TJ, checked on us too. We decided SKD's will probably be our new breakfast spot and we will go back and check out lunch or dinner.

Disappointing. I went with a group of 6 for dinner and every single one of us wish our meal had more flavor. Gyro platter, seafood combo, seafood pasta, and baked ziti, were all ordered and were all bland and fine. The staff was wonderful and the overall restaurant interior was nice - but sadly we will not be coming back. Not vegan friendly. I ordered the gyro platter with no tazatziki, no meat and asked for extra grilled vegetables. I received everything except the additional grilled vegetables and was left with a pretty flavorless meal.

You order at the food truck, grab a picnic table under the trees, and wait while everything is cooked fresh. The sign says, "Be patient. Be kind." Trust me, it's worth both. The smoked wahoo dip disappeared embarrassingly fast. Creamy, smoky, and packed with flavor. The blackened grouper sandwich was the star of the show. Perfectly seasoned, flaky, moist, and piled high on toasted bread with fresh toppings. The soft shell crab sandwich was crispy, sweet, and one of those meals that requires extra napkins and zero shame. Even the roasted broccoli was charred just right. Come for the seafood. Stay for the quirky atmosphere. Leave wondering why you've waited so long to eat here.

There's plenty of umbrellaed tables and picnic tables. They have a full menu of apps, seafood, and burgers. Their whole fried snapper is one of our favorite fish, and Hookin' serves a generous serving, perfectly tender and sweet, in a light crispy layer of coating, on a regular soft bun, with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Their Fried Wahoo is also well-prepared. We got fried, and it was tender and fresh. Both fish came with a heaping serving of hot crispy fries. You could also get either fish blackened, and you could add various veggies as sides. We ordered our food and also picked it up ourselves at the bar. Hookin' can get crowded, especially when they have a live musician, and parking can get pretty tight. It's just off I-275 at 22nd St, in St. Pete Fl east of Gulfport. They keep their social media pretty up-to-date, but we didn't track down a "regular" webpage.

I'm glad we went with it because it was hearty and flavorful with all the tots, cheese, and lots of crab! *Crab Cakes - really good crab cakes, with plenty of crab. *Twisted Cauliflower - our server warned us these would be spicy, but we were okay with that. They definitely had a kick from thai sauce and hot honey, but nothing that made it uncomfortable to eat, the right amount of spice. We had ours grilled, and enjoyed every bite. Needless to say, we ordered a fantastic meal of appetizers to split while enjoying the waterfront view on a beautiful day. If you are in the area, I highly recommend!

This is the kind of place that feels like it's been around forever, in the best way. Spacious for the area, lively without being chaotic, and backed by attentive service that keeps things moving even when it's busy. The menu is extensive, and then just when you think you've seen it all, there's a specials board tucked away with even more to choose from. If you can time your visit right, Tuesday is the move. They run a buy one pound, get one pound half off deal on snow crab legs, and it's easily one of the best values around. The snow crab legs are fresh and satisfying, and the Dungeness crab holds its own as well. Both pair perfectly with their rich, drawn butter, simple but done right. Portion sizes here are no joke. The shrimp skewers are almost excessive in the best way. Three skewers loaded with roughly eight shrimp each, so you're looking at around two dozen shrimp total, all a solid medium-large size. It's the kind of dish that makes you pause when it hits the table. The shrimp pasta is another standout and clearly a house favorite. It's packed with flavor and easily one of the more memorable dishes on the menu. Good enough that ordering a second one to-go actually makes sense. The clam chowder, though, was the one miss. While it's loaded with plenty of clam meat and has a hearty base, there's a slightly smoky flavor that throws it off. If you're a chowder fan, it might not hit the mark. Probably something to skip next time. As for the crab cakes, they passed a pretty tough test. A Maryland native at the table gave them a strong approval, which says a lot. Pro tip: Get there early, ideally around lunch, if you want to lock in that snow crab deal. It's popular, and you don't want to risk missing out. Overall, this is a reliable, crowd-pleasing seafood spot that leans into big portions, solid execution, and a relaxed coastal vibe. Whether you're a local or just visiting St. Pete Beach, it's an easy recommendation and definitely worth a return trip.

Parking is minimum $50 a day + fees. A cocktail? For an hour? Haha no. I'm being mildly disingenuous. The bar staff (and likely restaurant staff) will give you a QR code to validate all $58 of your parking. But it made me acutely miss a time when you could just park and patronize an establishment. Just don't forget to validate your parking, cuz they sure didn't ask preemptively. They were celebrating a 3-day grand reopening when we went on Saturday. There was *one* artisan in their market space. The music was pumping loud enough to not be able to converse. Although it drew a crowd of younger folks, there was not much to behold from the "grand" reopening. Not even s cost of paint. The beach bar may not have been part of the sprucing up idk, I didn't see anything worth celebrating. I meant to look at the size of the cocktail cup that we got (small), but $13-14 for a cocktail is highway robbery for the end result. And $18 for 6 wings ($3 a wing) was a little disappointing. I expected better of a Hilton adjoined restaurant. No one part was terrible. It was just the way they matched up - loud, expensive, small portions. If you're loud maybe you're cheap and tasty. If you're expensive, maybe you're fast and delicious. This was all the worst parts of a bar that doesn't care about its patrons' economics. A bar that wants to serve tourists with mediocrity and move on to the next crop of people who will never be there again. If you're a tourist it'll probably be fine, if overpriced. If you're a local, don't bother. To be fair, we should ask if there was anything good. hm ... no. We won't be returning. 3 stars is probably generous.
