Me, hubby, & brother in law went tonight for dinner. It's Friday evening & the restaurant was busy with people waiting in front of us. We waited just a moment & were seated. Our guest ordered broiled flounder & veggie medley. He wasn't impressed, but did like the salad, baked potato, & fresh hot loaf bread to be shared. We ordered the chef special Chilean Sea Bass w/spinach. Ours was delicious! We've never eaten Chilean Sea Bass & it's our new favorite. This was our second visit, & I really like the atmosphere & service was very good. We will return possibly for breakfast because I just read they serve breakfast. I requested potato salad and paid extra for it which they forgot to put on the salad. they don't serve any bread with the salad. I was really disappointed with my meal. Came to Skidders for an early dinner on a Sunday night before it got packed. They have a full bar and Greek specialties: think Jersey Diner with a bar and seafood although don't think they have all day breakfast. We tried the flaming cheese, spinach pie, fried seafood combo, broiled seafood combo and the land and sea with striploin and stuffed shrimp. We had the carrot cake, cheesecake and rice pudding for desert. They've got Stella on tap which was nice. Highlights were the fries (fantastic), the fresh hot bread, spinach pie and the cheesecake. The broiled grouper was meh. The breading on the fried items was pretty thick. Overall though some good items and a big menu: next time I'll try one of the burgers or the Greek pita. read more

Amazing food. The service was outstanding and the portion sizes were well worth the price, even tacking on a salad and rolls with dinner. The Caesar was not the best salad I've had, the dressing wasn't as authentic as they made it out to be, and it was very dressed, but other than that, the main entrees were amazing. The food was fine. Not amazing and not horrible. I didn't like the sauce for my gyro, it was very bland. It came with veggies and potatoes. It also came with a salad with a big chunk of feta. The server we had was very nice and effeciant. The guy at the front desk was on the phone when we walked in and was pretty much ignoring us for the first few minutes. Then he waved someone to come and sit us. The out side patio is cute. The inside however is not impressive. It's basically a diner. It didn't seem very clean. We sat in a booth next to the window. I could have written my name in the amount of dust on all the granite window sills and the little half wall separating the booth from the tables. I was grossed out and just wanted to leave because of that. It made me wonder what the kitchen looked like. But I sucked it up and left right after dinner. Didn't want to stay for desert. I hope the owner reads this and makes more of an effort to keep the place clean. read more

Staff was nice enough at first, though seemingly uncaring once I address my undercooked food concern. We ordered garlic bread with cheese, gyro and a large pizza. 1) Garlic bread was great... No dipping sauce but good. 2) Gyro was delicious but could use more sauce. Honestly great though and would order again. 3) Pizza was horrible. It first arrived 10 minutes later than the gyro. Biting into it we realized that the dough was barely cooked and still doughy. Yuck. When bringing to the attention of waiter they were monotone and offered to cook it more.... So we ended up with a recooked pizza that showed up at the end of our dinner and had to take it to go..... Turns out when we got home the dough was still not fully cooked. Recooked pizza that had cooled off = not enough time to cook the dough. All in all we gave them a fair tip and will not be returning. read more

Shout out to "St Pete Peter" for making us feel like part of the family and accommodating our large group when we did not have reservations. We visited this restaurant "by mistake" on a Monday night. We had originally planned to go to a different restaurant up the road but found out when we arrived there that it was closed. We were a group of 11 and it was prime dinner time. We stumbled upon Skidders and figured we would attempt to get a table. The place was PACKED! I noticed several large parties in line ahead of us, some with reservations and some without. How this place was able to accommodate so many large groups was beyond belief to me, but somehow they did it! This restaurant has a very family feel and I think it was what makes it so special. They have a massive menu that includes pretty much any type of food you could possibly want (Pizza, pasta, seafood, meats, steaks, sandwiches, desserts, etc). Our group ordered eggplant parm, shrimp Alfredo, scallops, seafood platters, baklava, chocolate cake, apple pie, and so much more and LOVED everything!!! To make our night extra special, Peter came over with Ouzo shots for us all! He joined us in our celebration with a big "Opa"! We were talking about our "Opa's" all night long haha. It was such a great time and we will most definitely be back again one day! I highly recommend this restaurant! I have no idea how anyone could rate this place poorly! A reliable, affordable, delicious favorite. I've been coming to St. Pete Beach for vacations for more than 15 years, and I always make sure to eat at Skidders. Their waffles,, pancakes and eggs are delicious in the mornings, and their coffee is always fresh and tasty. I've never had a bad meal here- whether it's pizza, seafood, or Greek dishes. On our last visit my boyfriend tried their wings and found them crispy and meaty with a sweet- tangy sauce. Oh, and I adore the warm Italian bread they serve, crusty on the outside and tender inside with real butter. I can't wait to try more items on their menu! read more

I have been here twice now- Once for breakfast and once for dinner. The staff is fantastic and managed to keep a very busy Thanksgiving eve under control. The manager was extremely personable and stopped by our table several times to check on us. He even had us try their cheesecake which was phenomenal. Today for breakfast we went to this restaurant in order to try something new. It was ok but did not really impress. There was a wide selection of meals but no truly southern basic breakfast. I was wanting eggs,bacon and biscuits or toast. I ended up ordering 1 egg over easy, unsweet tea, order of bacon and 1/2 order of gravy biscuit. The husband ordered an omelette and white toast and coffee. The egg and bacon were excellent. The biscuit was yuck but the gravy was good. Husband liked the omelet. The waitress brought hubby the original cup of coffee but never offered a refill until we had finished our breakfast. I would have preferred a sweet tea but was told it was raspberry flavored and thank god she told me because i am allergic to all berries! Hubby wanted some butter for his toast but since the waitress spent most of her time chatting at the cash register he never got it. We did notice that most tables had butter but ours did not! The waitress was very young and might need more training! Prices were average but not worth try again. read more

I thought of Skidders as the House of Omeletes. I ate breakfast here three days in a row while staying in the neighborhood. I had the vegetarian omelet (hold the cheese) and the western omelet (hold the ham), with potatoes on the side. That was plenty for me. The omelets come with toast, which I didn't get. I found that the eggs and potatoes were plenty to fill me up. The restaurant looks clean and neat. A desk clerk at my hotel mentioned that Skidders had been recently remodeled. It shows. Service was efficient and quick. I got my orders prepared exactly as I wanted, and I requested a change at every meal. I want to give Skidders special appreciation. I thought they opened at six a.m. On my last day in town, I arrived at 6:45. The host said, come on in! Sit down! Get comfortable! How about some coffee? He could have told me, sorry, come back in 15 minutes, but he didn't. I drank coffee, read my book, and ordered at 7:00am when the waitress came in for work. All in all, a very good experience. If I'd stayed another day in Florida, I probably would've eaten breakfast at Skidders yet again. read more

Unfortunately, we were disappointed. we ordered the gyro plate, and while the portion of salad was large, the meat was not real gyro meat. In other words, it was not the beef, lamb shaved from a rotisserie you should expect from a Greek restaurant. This was my first time at this restaurant and unfortunately was disappointed. We both ordered the chicken and rice soup which was very good but a bit oily for me. He ordered the chops which he really liked. I ordered the broiled flounder which didn't look anything like flounder. Not to mention was very oily and looked like tilapia. I actually sent it back which I don't like to do. They offered me something else so I ordered the veal marsala which was much better. The staff was very nice and the restaurant was clean.
