Upon signing up I was not offered any items or discounts. A relative joined in Woodland Hills 2hrs previous and received $50 off, 2 pillowcases, a cleanser and a carry out bag. In Glendale I had to fight to get the same items but was unaware of the cleanser which they did not give me, because I did not know at the time. It appears all locations are NOT the same. This is unfortunate. I hope the facial treatment is the same or I will not pay for this again. The first treatment is free so will see how that works out on first visit. That was not mentioned to me either. Starting out like this on sign up is a poor indication of things to come. Glendale seems to provide inferior service. read more

Loved this place! I went in for the free facial and they were extremely helpful, friendly, and answered all of my questions. The whole thing took about 15 minutes. Andrea, the nurse, was very thorough about explaining what to expect so it made me feel at ease. Hazel helped with the clean up and she was very happy to provide a temple rub which was the cherry on top. I did notice my skin felt smoother immediately after the facial and the next day it definitely had a brighter glow to it than usual. If you can afford a luxury maintenance like this, I highly recommend this place based on the staff alone. read more

She explained the process, checked in on me throughout, and made me feel very comfortable. She recommended I come in about twice a month, though my budget may only allow for once. First off- this place smells sooo good. The staff is very friendly, the nurses are very professional and make sure you feel comfortable by talking you through each step during the procedure. That made my first time less scary and made me want to come back for another session, not to mention how soft my face was after. Skin Laundry went down in Service! I will not be back. I used to really really really like this place, skin Laundry in general. I have been to almost every location, Newport Beach, Irvine(when it was open), Mission Viejo, New York, 2 locations. I was a loyal customer for 3+ years drove 2 hours out of my way weekly for treatments, sometimes 2 times a week to get treatments. I referred several people to Skin Laundry. I had paid for 4 treatments a month since the start. I had several, several, several compliments on my face and how beautiful and young I look. I spent lots of money here, used the products and have had every treatments. read more

If you are a very punctual individual this place is not good for you, Out of so many treatments my girlfriend had in this place she was late for the very first time on her last treatment (literally 8 minutes) and she was not serviced or even accommodated well more so not even treated as a regular loyal customer for years that she was a loyal patient. Out of all her treatment most of them they were like late for 10-15 minutes and my girlfriend would not complain at would wait patiently for them. One time there clinic was even closed when its already 11:00 am! So seriously this hypocrisy practice they're doing should be stopped! Hazel the manager is such a liar that she offered my girlfriend an option to be accommodated but she was not! Only until I got into the clinic and confronted her thats when she turns things around and seemed to be nice and all, I didn't buy her gimik anyways. So in the future? This is reminiscent of an airport in atmosphere (you are a number to them)- not a medical spa. They don't take into consideration any of your skin's individual needs and do not take you inquiries seriously about looking into tweaking something per your dr's orders. I am so disappointed they really make you feel like you are just a number (even though you are a member and come religiously... I have probably spent $1500 to date here) I communicated how I felt to their manager- about them seeming not to care about customer loyalty and she responded she wasn't aware of my issue (someone had dropped the ball and not notified her at all) and told me they were fully booked for the evening (that has never happened before in the 6 months I have been coming here - seemed very off). I feel like they are very lazy and do not want to go the extra mile and will shoo you away if you speak up for yourself as a (high paying!) customer. Bottom line is this place isn't cheap but the customer treatment sure is! Very unfortunate bc this was so convenient for me. I will be cancelling my membership . read more

Everyone was great, from the minute I walked into the storefront to the end of my appointment. I actually was late to my appointment due to the hardship of finding a parking spot. I called the store to let them know I was arriving late. They were nice enough to accommodate my late arrival. The nurse was very sweet. She gave me a lot of advice about my skin and provided certain products that would be helpful to my skim. When you see this many reviews warning you about the TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - beware! Yes, the location in the mall is convenient, but it's not worth the trouble! I bought a package of facials that I wont even use up because I will NOT go back. Upon check-in, they'll as you if you want to purchase any add-on's. I clearly said NO, but was given the add-on's in treatment anyway. Imagine my surprise when I was leaving and she asked how I wanted to pay (I have a package, remember?). I asked to have the manager call me, since I clearly said NO to the add-on's. Was I contacted? NO. Did I receive a surprise, unauthorized $30 charge 4 days later, YES. If you're going to risk getting a facial with these scam artists, protect yourself and pay cash so they can't send you random charges later. Based on other's reviews and a quick scan of their BBB complaints surrounding sketchy payment practices, I doubt they'll be around long. Good ridden! read more

Would not return to Skin Laundry nor recommend it. I scheduled a facial and arrived on time ready to go that afternoon. They had been very clear that I needed to be exactly on time, but once I arrived I had to wait 15 minutes before they took me back. I found this strange because they were being so strict about timeliness on my end, and part of their model is supposed to be how convenient they are. To me, that means you shouldn't have to wait when you have a schedule appointment. I had something scheduled afterwards and was now worried that this was going to mess up my plans for the day. It didn't, because what I was told would be a 45 minute appointment including a consult was only 15-20 minutes in total. There was no consult or discussion / explanation about what was happening. They took my photo and sent it in to be reviewed to ensure I could get the procedure and that was it. I've had laser other places and there is usually discussion about what your issues are and how they can best target them. There was none of this but I figured for the low price I could overlook that as the point is efficiency here. However, the procedure itself really didn't seem to make any difference for me. You would need several sessions to see a difference I think, whereas other lasers I've done are much more impactful with only one treatment. So, by the time you have enough sessions to see a difference you will end up spending the same you would for a more powerful laser at a medspa, where the service is probably better. Once I was finished and exited, I was immediately pressured into buying things and packages with them with VERY little discussion about how my treatment had gone. I have never experienced such shameless sales plugs and it was hard to get out of there without being pressured into purchasing a package but luckily I did. No plan to ever return here and wouldn't recommend anyone else does either. I will stick with my MedSpa that has stronger lasers and much better service. read more

I had a great experience my first time at the Santa Monica location. However, I was extremely disappointed with the customer service at the Glendale location and just asked for a refund of my initial purchase. they were so rude I will never come back to Skin Laundry. I had made a reservation online and when I called to confirm they did not have it in the system. Instead of offering to make an appointment for me, I had to ask if they took walk ins. They said they did but didn't offer to make me an appointment or apologize for the confusion. When I showed up at their next available walk in they said the spot was already taken. I immediately asked for a refund and left. Extremely poor customer service. Do not come here. read more

First impressions are everything so I'm a little bummed. I called the Irvine location after learning about these guys on Instagram and they couldn't have been more helpful/friendly and made me SO excited to come in! I unfortunately had to cancel my very first appointment because of something that came up, then realized that the Glendale location was actually closer to me. So I called this location to re-setup my appointment, and had the exact opposite experience. I've worked in retail and customer service before for quite a while, so I understand having a bad day maybe, but this girl on the phone was so rude, my jaw dropped. She just flat out did NOT want to help me... which is a little upsetting because I was so excited to come here and try it out.. She refused to make an appointment on the phone with me and told me it had to be done online even after informing her what happened, and that I was already walked through the process of being a first time customer. She really didn't care, she just repeated herself again, and told me it would be a waste of time for me to drive down there only for them not to be able to preform a facial. At that point i wasn't going to repeat myself again, nor argue with her, and I didn't really want to be on the phone with her anymore, so I said thank you and hung up. Not sure if I will come here or not based on that phone call alone.. I might call the Irvine location back and would recommend doing the same if you are an equal distance from the 2. As I read reviews I'm learning I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience with their customer service, with so many great reviews on how the product works, I wish they'd staff more friendly people. read more

I bought a package of 5 sessions and scheduled my appointment, however I had to reschedule my appointment for the next day and it was more than 24 hours ahead I called and rescheduled my appointment to another date and time, but they charged my credit card for a no show.. even though I had called more than 24 hours before to reschedule. When I called the store the next day asking to get the refund, the receptionist who handled the call said she can't refund it now and will have to wait and ask a colleague and will try to do it but doesn't know when exactly. I asked to speak to the manager and she said the manager is on vacation and will come back end of week!!! What type of place is this where the manager doesn't have a back up covering manager for issues that come up!! I love this place, and am very impressed. I had passed this place in the mall several times, and gone in a few times just to get more information. I had been going to another place to get microdermabrasion and IPL treatments with satisfying results, however, recently I had an awful acne outbreak and I couldn't figure out why. Because I have such sensitive and temperamental skin, I narrowed it down to it my having had come in contact with something not so clean...either I had touched my face after touching something at the gym, or the place where I had been getting my facials hadn't cleaned their instruments well prior to using them on me. After some reflection, I determined it had to be the latter. My face had become a petri dish and a medium for germs and bacteria - and it showed. While I was taking measures of my own to try to get it under some type of control, I embraced the idea I needed help beyond what I could give to myself. This place came to mind, and I remembered the first session is complimentary. This gave me the impression they are confident in their treatment and work, and don't need you to pay for one to prove their word...the treatment speaks for itself. Since my face was a mess, and the first treatment was free...I had nothing to lose. So I called to make an appointment, but they were booked...same day appointments are not likely according to the person on the phone, however, she suggested I sign in on-line, and book my appointment since the website can let me know when their next available appointment would be. So I registered on-line and scheduled my appointment. I got there early, and the staff really appreciated it since there is digital paperwork that needs to be completed at the first session. Everyone was extremely nice and professional and the technician explained everything that would happen, and that at the end she would give a recommendation of what would be best for me based on my skin type, condition, and the results that I wanted to achieve. She also took pictures of my skin so the nurse could give guidance to the technician on what service I should be given. She explained that since I am African American and have darker skin, I would not get an the IPL part of the treatment because if may be a little too strong and damage the skin. Instead I would be given a Hydrogen Boost treatment after the laser treatment. I was good with this since I know that IPL can burn, and they were going to replace that treatment with another one...once again, I was not at a loss, and they were all about designing the treatment best for me. The young lady performed the treatment with confidence and great bedside manner. I was comfortable and felt I could trust her. At the end she put a moisturizer on my face and gave me post treatment instructions. When I checked out, the receptionist inquired about how the treatment was and how I felt. She, too, gave me post treatment instructions. After, she asked that I let her know if and when I wanted to set up another treatment when I was ready and had assessed my results. I love that she didn't immediately start selling to me...there was no pressure, no making me feel guilty, or making me feel like I wasn't valuable if I didn't set up my next appointment. Because I could already feel results - my face felt really clean, vibrant, and healthy - I set up my next appointment keeping in mind what was recommended by the technician. I have already gone back for my second treatment and will be going for my third in a few days. My skin has made an immediate recovery. The acne significantly decrease, and new bumps aren't taking the place of the old ones. Each time my face has felt incredibly clean right after the treatment, and for days after. I highly recommend this treatment for anyone who has troubled skin that is not systemically induced, but instead caused by external elements or environments that cause you to come in contact with things that harbor mites or bacteria like hotel pillows, gym equipment, or in my case...aesthetician devices that haven't been properly cleaned for the next treatment. Results are immediate. I will be making this a part of my regular skin care regimen even after I achieve the desired results so I can maintain them for the long term. Fortunately, they do offer a monthly membership plan that I suggest one inquire about. The highlights of this place - the cleanliness, professionalism, how well trained and developed the technicians are, the mannerism and courteousness of the front desk, and the freedom of any pressure to sell you. An added plus - everyone that I've met that works there knows first hand about what the establishment has to offer because they had a problem with their skin, utilized the treatment and services and got desirable results well before they had become employees. I have very few skin concerns, but as a girl we all know that we want to address those no matter how big or small! I was referred by a friend, (the referral program is great! you get a free treatment for each new client you bring in) and my initial treatments were two back to back. I saw the most amazing glow and brightness I have ever seen in my skin. I went away on holiday, and now that I have returned to LA and continued treatments, my skin is flawless! My pores have shrunk significantly, my acne is healing at a super fast rate, and my skin is smooth and soft! I continued treatments a few days apart, and noticed that I wasn't seeing the results I had the first two treatments. I scheduled two appointments back to back once again, and noticed that it kind of gave my skin a "jumpstart". As for the treatment, its worth every penny. If you buy the 10 package deal, the treatments end up being only $40 a piece, which is not too bad as you don't have a short expiration on them. I am in and out of town a lot, so I cannot sign up for a monthly contract. BTW- they give you a free treatment on your birthday! The treatments are not long lasting results. It is something that you will have to maintain and continue to do, which I actually don't mind. I thoroughly enjoy the treatments, and the laser begins to feel quite nice once you get used to it. When I was out of town for 3 weeks without SL, I did notice my skin went back to where it used to be. Quite dull, a bit of breakouts, and just not happy looking. Mind you, I am not a newbie to skin care. Before SL, I exfoliated two times a week, and have anti aging products, moisturizer, eye cream, etc. I am a firm believer in diet and exercise. My skin was just lacking something. And Skin Laundry saved my skin! As for the staff, every time I come in I am greeted with a smile and a welcoming attitude. The girls I have had the pleasure to meet have always been super sweet, and they are all gorgeous and have gorgeous skin! That's something else that sells you. When the people working in a skin related environment, and they have poor skin, thats a sign to RUN. These ladies (& gents) are a walking marketing tool. The skincare line (I have the 4 step system and have had it for about a month and a half and its not quite empty) is also amazing, & the skincare goes hand in hand with the treatments. I received it for $25 when I purchased my new client treatments. Normally SPF in moisturizers/foundations break me out, but this one did not! Such a life saver! I am a skinlaundry convert! Go in and tell them Cydney M. sent you so I can get a free treatment, and then you ladies can recommend your friends and get free treatments once you are a client! ;) read more

Every time I come in I am greeted and my appointments always start and end right on time. Besides the customer service I really like the treatments since they helped me get rid of all the breakouts I was getting.
