I've been going for almost a year and the changes in my skin are just great. Working with Adrina to correct my congested pores (too much work + not washing acne prone skin = bad bad skin) has been a little journey. She gives good recommendations on products and fixes without ever pushing a sale, something a lot of places aren't conscientious about. Same goes for up-selling any additional procedures. The clarity and brightness of my skin since starting is something I've never been able to match with at home facials alone, and it has inspired me to keep it up with better nightly care on my own. Irina was great! She uses hard wax (way better and more sanitary and less painful than strips) and she is quick and efficient. She is thorough but keeps you distracted and is happy to provide tips for aftercare. Price is very reasonable too--pretty competitive for the are. There are various products sold in the studio but there is no pressure to buy anything. Look out for deals on their Facebook page and if you go there and "like" their Facebook page in front of them you get $5 off! I had a 75 minute facial with a corrective peel from Lana yesterday, which has a price tag of $140, and I left feeling really disappointed. The facial itself was good, but not fantastic like I had read in the reviews. She only spent about 2 minutes doing extractions, which I had specifically asked for, and the kicker is that the entire facial lasted for just under 1 hour. When I checked by phone after she left the room, I couldn't believe it. When I approached her about this back in the lobby I could tell that I caught her off guard, and her response was something to the effect of, "Oh, well you didn't need that many extractions so it didn't take as long." Which is completely untrue. I haven't gotten a facial in about 4 months, and I know that I had plenty of extractions to work through. I think that I was most likely her last appointment of the day and she was trying to get out of there a little early. I had purchased this facial through Gilt City, but she did not know that at the time. For all she knew, I had purchased this facial for $140 and she was cutting it short by over 15 minutes. That is outrageous. What's crazy is that she knew that it was my first time in to their studio and that I was looking for a place to receive steady facials from. Why on Earth would you short-change a customer like that? I definitely will not be going back, simply for that reason alone. read more

I have been going to Skin Studio for a few years now and I couldn't be happier! The location is convenient and has parking! Lana is my skin care expert and does flawless waxing and amazingly relaxing facials. The waxing part is always quick and efficient (and as tolerable as it can get for waxing hair off your body haha). The girls at the front desk are SUPER friendly and pleasant. I used to live around the corner, but i moved 40 minutes away and I am remaining a loyal Skin Studio client! Lana was the only person who has ever waxed my eyebrows correctly (she is the only person I've tried, and I've tried many, who didn't leave them too thin and unnnatural-looking). However, they're recently begun requiring you to have a credit card on file to book an appointment. I understand that they probably have to deal with a lot of missed appointments, and I appreciate their keeping their prices low regardless, but I've never missed an appointment without at least 24 hours notice and I don't enjoy being made to feel like some kind of criminal. Scheduling is challenging, sometimes it's not possible to know something will come up 24 hours in advance, and there needs to be some flexibility. By all means, keep track of customers who repeatedly miss appointments, but don't take it out on the rest of us. read more

I started seeing Adriana for my waxing needs a few months before my wedding when my previous aesthetician moved to a less convenient location. I am so happy I found Adriana and Skin Studio. They use hot wax here, which I find much more pleasant than strip wax. Adriana is so fast, I can't believe how quickly she gets through my services! And she is thorough! In addition to my typical waxing needs, I had wanted to get my arms, legs, and underarms waxed for the wedding, which I never had before, and she helped me to figure out how far in advance I should get these services done before my wedding. I also appreciated that Adriana helped me come up with a skin care plan leading up to my wedding day. She introduced me to diamond microdermabrasion, which made my skin so soft and smooth! And I had a mini-facial done, which was great and caused no skin irritation! I also learned about Lamprobe at Skin Studio, and Irina performed this service on a cherry angioma I had on the tip of my nose. I had wanted to get this removed for years, and was upset it would show in my wedding photos, but after the Lamprobe service, it is hardly noticeable! Thanks Skin Studio!!! read more

If you would like to feel rested and have your skin glowing after a facial then you must visit Skin Studio! There is plenty off street parking and I believe they have a parking lot in the rear. The office is located inside a building where there are many other types of offices, but it is still very easy to locate. I called for a last minute facial and they were able to fit me in easily. I received the Enzyme facial and made sure to have extractions since my face needed some deep cleaning. The aesthetician (can't place her name) was absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable. She gave me some recommendations to reduce my acne scars and sold me some great products to maintain my skin as healthy as possible. She had such a gentle touch that she was able to extract my pores and before the end of the day, the puffiness in my face subsided back to normal. I've had other numerous facials in the past that my face would be puffy for days after extractions due to how rough they were. I will definitely be coming back, and will very like do the micro peels to make my skin as smooth and blemish free as possible. If you are from the Boston area, this spa far out beats any "high end" spas found on Newbury St or surrounding areas! The facial was $110 for an hour, and it was worth every penny! Very excited to try Skin Studios to finally do something for myself especially my skin. So I had a consultation on Tuesday, 05/03/16, that I was late for but was able to be squeezed in at 4:30 which is so wonderful of them! I was given Natalya, who is very professional and knowledgeable of what she does. She listened to my concerns before she made her suggestions which we agreed upon together. I will leave it to having acne, not going to detail for personal reasons, but even though I am self conscious of it she wasn't critical and I treaty appreciated that she wasn't. She was helpful by putting together a plan for my goal to reach beautiful skin by starting with my first facial(yay!) then slowly get into microdermabrasion then alternating between both. Once all set, I had scheduled for the following Saturday afternoon, 05/12/16, for the acne treatment facial with Natalya as the esthetic. I left feeling confident in these ladies, and definitely recommend going in for the consultation free of charge with nothing to lose. Both Irina and Lana are incredibly knowledgable about the skin, the products, newest trends but most of all, what is best for their client. They never push any sales your way and go the extra mile ensuring the client is satisfied. The front desk always greets you in a friendly way and is incredibly accommodating. My experience here was wonderful. I called last minute for a facial and they fit me in for an express one. When she saw me she made some recommendations on what we can do to further better my skins condition. I can't remember her name but she was very knowledgable about services and products. She even told me to bring in the products I use so she can explain to me more about how to use them or to make sure I'm using the right stuff for my sensitive skin. I don't think I could speak more highly of Skin Studio and Adriana. I started with acne and many visible acne scars, but through the 9 months I've seen Adriana they've faded significantly. My skin is smooth and even glows on some days. It's actually amazing. I won't say that I'm completely happy with where I am, but I'm much happier than where I was.
