    a burger and french fries

I tried Skinny butcher with a vegan friend and was pleasantly surprised. To start let me say that it was a little hard to find. There wasn't a store front, it was inside another restaurant which you could only make online orders for, I think it was called Bao. Once we figured that all out and ordered and finally got our food it was quite nice! The chicken didn't look super appetizing at first, I though if looked like a chicken sandwich they have at the lunch line at school. But once took my first bite I was proven wrong! It was crunch on he outside and tasted just like a real chicken sandwich! It was really food. And the fries spool yummy! I would definitely return, especially now that I actually know where they're located!

We were so excited to try out this plant based chicken from Lettuce Entertain You and Wow Bao. The chicken itself was delicious you would absolutely never know it's not real meat. The fries were also great. A few things that need to be improved before I can give five stars It's delivery only and our food arrived cold. They need to figure out a better way to keep it warm For a restaurant that bills itself as plant based none of the sandwiches or sauces are actually vegan. The buns and sauces are not. Please include vegan options! It's not easily disclosed on the menu that the items are not vegan

Save yourself the money. These are bland and rubbery. I cooked them as recommended and I was wildly disappointed.

The staff is famously surly, and that's clearly part of the experience, so if you know that going in it adds to the fun. It's more playful than serious and definitely gives the place its own character. I also thought it was cool how they give out free dogs after Bears wins. That kind of generosity and local spirit makes it feel like a true neighborhood staple. Definitely a memorable stop and one of those places that feels uniquely Chicago.

They had some options on the menu but we both opted for the Vienna Red Hot ("char"). It's a solid dog. The wiener is, perhaps unsurprisingly, the star of the show. It's got a terrific char and an irresistible snap. The flavor is better-than-average, too. The condiments didn't really do much for me, and I found something on there just way, way too salty. (The pickle, maybe?) Anyway, it's a quick, cheap, easy meal. I'd certainly eat it again.

It's one of the best places to get top tier cultural flavors. The location is perfectly central, approachable, but authenticly local. Decor is as you'd think a beef shop in Chicago to be, service is a little more on the cheerful side due to the Greek influence. Prices are on par with dining in the area for quality Chicago. My go to order is the Italian Combo with a gyro platter to snack on the sliced meat and fries. My 2nd fav order is the Big Daddy burger (tsaiziki and bbq on the side) and a Maxwell Street Polish giving you a bit of everything Chicago. Usually places evolve to the changing wants of the neighborhood, but they sell Greek and Italian equally well. They have always done beef tallow, and it's a shame they have to mention it becuase the rest of the world went away from that when they didn't. Great fries, and a good amount per order. I have yet to try the salads, but it's hard to wow people with them when it doesn't say Salad's in the name... The beef is tender (gyro, roast beef, burger), well seasoned, rendered. The breads are toothsome, soft, crunchy, chewy. The sauces and condiments are crunchy, smooth, blended and balanced. The pizza puff is another far less known Chicago staple for the picky eaters, they also have chicken tenders for the kids. All in all it's a 1st rate stop off for all things Beef and all things Chicago.
