The power cord was slashed as it rammed into my brand new front door (photos attached). So the food I put in a cooler to move 25 minutes away is now completely ruined And to top off that, I unwrapped the stainless steal handles for the fridge and no care was taken. Not a very good experience. They broke my 2 TVS and we paid more than 2k for this move services alone. When we file for claim, they said that they would only pay for .60cent per lbs and my tv are only worth $48. I do not wish to get a new TV but at least replace what they have damaged. So i wouldn't recommend this company as they have not took care of us and our concern afterwards. They just wanted to get paid and doesn't care at all if they damage an expensive item or not. This was the second time I used them to move. While I am conflicted still about whether they did a good job or not, part of a moving company's responsibility is to move your stuff from point A to point B, while getting it to point B in good working order.... That was not the case for my very expensive TV. It got to point B with a broken screen. When I reached out to Conor he mentioned something about them not being sure that they actually did the damage? Which made me laugh a little and then offered 50% off my move, which is something but doesn't even come close to recouping the cost of my $1k TV. Skinny Wimp Moving company is...OK. Just...OK. From the reviews I had read on Yelp, I had hoped to be absolutely blown away, and while they did the job I paid for, I was not blown away. Having looked at their website, and seen their description of "Full Service", I was excited that our move would be relatively stress free, and well.. it wasn't. The thing about Skinny Wimp is that they will do EXACTLY what you tell them, and nothing more. They'll let you know that they have wardrobe boxes available for you to use, but they don't let you know that you have to request them, else they're not brought with the truck. When the movers arrive, you'd better be completely packed up, because despite being "full service", they will not assist loading additional boxes in any way. Finally, I've moved across country using another service, and locally using yet another service, and every time, the truck was absolutely stuffed to the gills in an effort to reduce trips. Skinny Wimp...wasn't. To their credit, they DID get all the stuff that could not be moved by me after they left, which is what I asked them to do. But there seemed to be a fair amount of un-stacked space each truckload, and honestly it felt like they were trying to get another truck run out of me. If you're an experienced mover, and can spare the time on the load-in to be more hands-on, Skinny Wimp might be a really good option. As for me, I didn't have the time to be more hands-on, and I probably wouldn't use them again. Moving is a really expensive process, and I was really hoping to be blown away. Before getting into the negative portion of my review, it is important to note, that Moses, Damon, and Demetrius were all great - worked hard, friendly, respectful, and really helped my husband and I out with our move this past weekend. As with any move, there were several items that were just slightly nicked and damaged (a curtain rod, the bed nightstand, a lamp shade, and some wall art). We appreciated that the team was clear and upfront about the damage that those items incurred. However, after the team left, we found that our flat screen tv was heavily damaged. Careful handling unfortunately was not the case for this item. It was packed and taped by the team, loaded and then unloaded, and then left in a room with the damage facing the wall and tucked behind some other items. This is not a case of the screen being scratched or the case being chipped, this is obvious damage that should have easily been noticed during unpacking. My husband and I found it odd that the team was very upfront about other damage, but the most damaged and most expensive item appeared to be placed away from immediate view without any notice. We reached out to Skinny Wimp to see what sort of coverage they offered for damaged items and unfortunately the basic insurance package that we were automatically enrolled in only covered $0.60/lb. No one ever intends to damage an expensive item, but I wish they would've told us that there were other coverage options -moving in and of itself is expensive, let alone having the unanticipated cost of having to purchase a brand new TV due to a bit of the movers' carelessness. read more

Just got off the phone trying to schedule a move and the man I spoke with was so beyond rude and unprofessional. When I was advising him of past concerns and how to handle them vs the hourly rate and just running my questions and concerns by him he accused me of trying to negotiate the price for problems that haven't happened yet. And as I was trying to explain to him that's not what I was doing he continued to talk over me and accuse me of trying to lower the price when that wasn't what it was about. I've used this company a few times in the past and received a customer "loyalty" discount for returning. The man I spoke with this time said they no longer do random discounts and that &125 per hour was the lowest they would go. He kept making it about the money when I was trying to get my concerns and questions addressed. I'm not sure who I was speaking with but he came across very arrogant and could care less about my perspective or concerns as a potential customer. Ive used this company before and had both good and negative experiences but after today's/this years attempt I will no longer be coming back. It wasn't about the cost at all. It was the lack of professionalism, kindness, and willingness to listen. This guy spoke to me in a way that showed very little respect for me as the customer and just as a women in general. Update: 3/5 they charged me twice after assuring me it was the only payment needed. This happened before the movers arrived. Then they moved everything I signed a confirmation document and told the mover 'this signature isn't for payment I paid already.' Because I saw the balance in the document. He nodded his head but he didn't speak English well so there might've been an communication barrier. However a month later I see two charges from this company. I called and they removed it but it's the principle. I went over and over this w/ the woman I scheduled this with. ***WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER!!! If we could give this company ZERO stars...we would! The movers rushed through our job (likely to complete the job in 3 hours, given we had paid for a minimum of 4 - yay for paid time off, right?) and scratched nearly EVERY piece of our furniture! Our leather sofa (which would cost upward of $3,000 to replace) is scuffed in multiple areas and they even ripped the leather off in some areas - - they took the paint off our door jam (to the raw wood) due to forcing pieces through the door. They also broke a headboard and left huge gashes in the walls. When I showed one of the workers the damage they had done to one of the walls he responded, "Ya...they really got that good!" As far as restitution, the company offered a "whopping" $50.00 discount to compensate for the damage done to our walls (which doesn't even cover a service call charge) and noted that their insurance "should" pay up to roughly $600 for our sofa. We are truly flabbergasted!!!! ***I'm not sure how they were able to get such great reviews (maybe they're fake or paid?)? Regardless, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ***We also have MULTIPLE photos to corroborate our side of the story, should anyone need them. read more

Paid for move three weeks in advance. Confirmed via e-mail. Move confirmed via phone day before for 8am next day. 8am - no one shows up 8:30 - I call wondering where the three movers are - they don't know 9am - I call again, still no idea where movers are 9:15 - I call again, I MUST move today. Childcare is being paid for the move, wife leaves on business the next morning, lease is up house is closed. Where are the movers? They don't know. 9:30 - I call again. Apparently somebody hurt their leg (not sure about the other two pairs of legs being healthy, but certainly someone had a phone - right?). They refunded me and said a manager would call me (his phone or leg must be hurt too because he hasn't). I had to find new movers and pay outrageous costs for an emergency same day move. I used this company before and they did such a great job last time that i wanted to use them again . Big mistake . My appointment was for 10:00 am . They call me at 8:18 asking me if I'm ready . I told them no and confirmed my appointment was for 10 . He said yes but he just wanted to ask and that he will call me at 9:45 . I call him at 9:48 and hey said they were on their way . 10:05 . Not there so i call the office and they stated they should be there soon . They arrive at about 10:10 . Didn't start moving until 10:20 . But they had to stop because the driver had parked the car a long ways away . I explained to him the previous movers marked closer with no issue . He moved the truck closer . Even with the truck being closer the one mover was taking a box in the truck and staying there for 5 minutes .the other mover was new and was working hard but struggling . Me and my sons started helping . But the other mover was consistently no where in sight . I explained that i have to be back at work and even called the office to see if they can get the other mover to start moving . Finally everything gets loaded and the driver seemed confused about the address i was moving to . I asked him to just follow me . This would also cut back on anymore time wasting . Well that failed as well . They got lost somehow . Unloading was a nightmare . The damaged 3 walls at my new place . Damaged a bookshelf . And I'm missing the top glass to my table . Who knows what else could be damaged because the boxes are thrown everywhere. They couldn't even take things upstairs because they didn't know how to get it up there . I called the office and kept them updated with all of the events . Allison was apologetic but i still have not heard back about the damages . *** update - shortly after my review Megan reached out to me to follow up . She was very apologetic and sent 2 movers out to drop off my table top and pick up the wardrobe boxes that the other movers left . She sent me the paperwork for my claim . I spoke with Alison today 12/04/2017 , she let me know that the insurance is going to give $30 for my broken bookshelf but that they are going to provide $100 for the damaged wall . Two guys worked hard, other one spent the most time on the phone. Called to say they would be there in 45-1hr showed up almost two hours later. The price almost doubled at the end. I felt like I was out working the pace of the guys I was paying to move. Slammed a couch into the front door and lost a piece to the bottom of one of the dressers, found additional things broken after they left, plates, couch leg ect. These guys showed up on time, great start! I told them I could only afford the two hours the Groupon covered, this is the first time I've hired movers, but my boyfriend had a herniated disc in his back and lots of people who could've normally helped were gone for memorial weekend. The lead guy predicted the time right within 5 minutes of when we needed to leave the old house to get everything unloaded at the new house and still stay within the two hours. They are super fast and got so much done in 2 hours. Details for 2 hours of work: I have a 2 level home and my new house is 1 level and 1 mile away from the old home. They successfully moved (and shrink wrapped the necessary items): king bed, 2 twin beds, crib, 2 desks, 25+ boxes, sofa and sofa chair, 2 dressers, 2 cabinets, kitchen table & chairs, coffee table, shelving, and some extra stuff to boot. Money well spent! As a sidenote, I'd like to remind the boys not to talk about the customer until they've left the premises, to avoid offending anyone. I would also suggest having a body spray or something handy if they smoke beforehand so they don't smell heavily of smoke while inside a customer's home. Also the lead guy could've been a bit more friendly, though he wasn't necessarily outright rude, he did say some unnecessary personal opinions about my lifestyle that I could've done without. I did get a dent in my wall when they flung open a door, but the stopper spring wasn't working properly so not really their fault. I had a fantastic experience with Skinny Wimp. The front office staff made everything so easy, and were super flexible when I had to reschedule. Drew, Andre and Mike absolutely ROCKED my move yesterday. They showed up ready to work, were super friendly, and hustled the entire time despite it being 100 degrees out. They carefully wrapped all the furniture in blankets and cling wrap. If anything somehow got scratched or dinged, I didn't notice :) The wardrobe boxes provided were a game changer (basically tall boxes with a rail where you can hang your clothes) and saved me so much time packing and unpacking. And Drew assembled three beds in the time it would take me to read the instructions for one. I would definitely recommend these guys for your next move! read more

My wife & I had to move to a new condo a few miles from our condo we had been in. This was in the first week of August so it's peak heat time. I usually move myself with help from friends, but there was no way I wanted to do it this time. We were in a second story condo far from the parking lot in the peak of summer. No thanks! The job was supposed to take 2 hours, but it took 3.5 at no fault of the movers.....we just had more crap than we realized. Lifting heavy objects and going up and down the stairs numerous times can get to you after a while, especially in this AZ heat, but it did not phase them. They were quick and efficient, but they also took the time to ensure that my belongings were padded and wrapped nicely so that they could make a safe delivery. Part 2 it cut off the end of my review. But I asked them to give them to me. At the end they were driving off and I asked where they put the envelopes. They said a box but they did not know which one. Now I have to go through all the boxes to hopefully find them. I moved 4-23-18 and this is 5-16-18. I have not found them yet. Although we had stayed at an Air B and B for 5 days and have been painting and laying carpet before we could go through everything. I used Skinny Wimp for moving my two-level two bedroom house in December. I was impressed with Devin, the other mover not so much. First the positives... they showed up on time, they didnt waste any time, I did not get the impression that they were taking things slowly or prolonging the move. The billing was clear. The rest of the experience and the actual moving of items was anything but positive. He was very slurry in his speech but I ignored it initially. The first thing he moved out of the house was my ironing board. Devin told him to wait until the bigger items were in the truck, so he proceeded to keep it upside-down (fabric first) on my driveway. And left it there for about 30 minutes until I noticed it and kept it back up. That was the sign of things going downhill. I had to constantly monitor him to make sure nothing was being manhandled. They proceeded to take my sofa out, and I asked them to shrink wrap it before transporting. I saw photos on their Yelp page which showed furniture being protected well, so I expected something similar. The sofa was black canvas, so I wanted to make sure it did not get too dusty. What followed was the worst attempt at trying to shrink wrap anything, and by this time the other guy was both incoherent and uncoordinated. They passed the shrink wrap around maybe two times, which covered absolutely nothing on the sofa. They took it outside, and I assumed they were taking it to the truck, but instead I found it on its side on the dirt outside the house. I didnt have to be quick or sneaky to take a photo of this since they left it there for a good 30 minutes. I had wanted to get mattress bags and covers so they dont get dirty, but when i called I was told they would take care of things like that, and that they have fabric covers and furniture pads to use during the move, so I assumed I would be asked or told about it. And half way into the move, I see the other guy carrying the mattress on his head (not to mention his sweat-soaked cap had by fallen off prior to this). And walking down the stairs bumping into things, and yanking / dragging the mattress wildly all the way to the truck. The same thing repeated for the other mattress as well. I found two of my suitcases / luggage pieces with fabric tears on the bottom from this other guy dragging it on the gravel on the way into the new house. One of the luggage frames is bent and partially broken as well. This other guy sobered down close to the end of the 4 hour move. Overall, it is possibly the worst outcome for having spent money on these movers. It was more stressful than it was worth. I was hoping that all the horror stories of movers wouldnt be true, and made sure I picked the one with mostly positive reviews here on Yelp. I would definitely not use them again, and I would seriously warn people about what you might end up with during the move. EDIT 1: Going back and reading other recent reviews, there are 2 other people who noticed that one of the movers was high during the move. I dont know if this is the same person or not, but clearly there is a lack of control somewhere. read more

They finished the work within the quoted 3 hour time window. We have a second floor in our new house and they we're able get everything we need up there with no issues. These guys showed up, wrapped up my stuff to protect it during the move and loaded it up quickly and efficiently. The guys were great, they had a great attitude and we're friendly. In 3 hours we had everything packed up, loaded, moved and unloaded and all cleaned u . Granted, there was not an entire house full of stuff, but we left all the big heavy furniture plus a 300 lb. safe for them to move they did a great job. We did have one piece of furniture with a damaged leg, they fixed it and had it back together good as new with their own tools. During the move we asked if they could move a refrigerator from a room to put our freezer in that spot and they were more than happy to do it. They had to take the refrigerator doors off so they could get it out of the room and made it happen quickly. These guys were great from start to finish. I'm glad they were there to help us out during our move because we only had a few says to be out of our old place and with their assistance we were out a day earlier than we expected. Next time we move, we will definitely be calling these guys back out. Btw, did I mention this was all done for a low low cost? Call these guys to get the job done right and done quickly. Mike and Damon were our 2 movers. Scheduled a 9am time whereby they were right on time. They even called to confirm before the appointed time. Although, I didn't have much stuff to move they definitely took care on every bit of the moving process with great care of my stuff. Would hire this company again next time if I need to move again. I also received a quick response when I messaged for a quote via yelp. My favorite part of the whole experience was working with the movers, Adrian and Damon. They were very warm and friendly and worked so hard to get everything done carefully, efficiently, and quickly. I was so worried about the prospect of my piano moving up to my new 2nd floor apartment, but they did a fantastic job. I was very impressed by their work ethic, positive attitudes, and kindness.
