TLDR; only use if owner personally oversees and moves you. Take photos and videos to document condition of all items. Get the names of movers written down. First time was great. Quick, careful, and very professional. Second move was a complete 180. Showed up late, didn't hustle unless micromanaged, made excuses, damaged items in move and tried to blame previous movers (jokes on you it was your company) and then argued over responsibility/liability. Owner contacted after move to resolve situation and discuss the incident. He stated they subcontract other movers to do jobs if they're busy so he couldn't hold them responsible and the best he could do was verbally reprimand them. He did say the movers would be responsible financially should there be any claims or repair costs. Which explained why they were trying so hard to "fix" it and so resistant to me contacting the owner. When asked how they would fix/replace the damaged furniture he said they have a "furniture repair girl" who can "work wonders" but I still haven't been contacted and at this point I don't even care about the damage, it's about the principle. I just want people to be aware. Using this company is a big gamble. If you book them and the owner isn't personally on site, then I would record videos and take pictures* of everything they move and start a timer to keep them honest** Only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the first move did go well and I give credit where credit is due. *Even pictures might not be enough. See pictures of movers I had issues with **They conveniently forget to subtract the $100 deposit from the total amount due until I reminded them. Wouldn't use them again. They showed up almost three hours late for the move, took an hour longer than us as to drive from old to new home even though we took the same route (long lunch break?) while claiming traffic that wasn't there before and after the moving truck left (I went before, my wife after, we both got there so much sooner I started to wonder if they took off with our stuff), claimed being at locations that couldn't have been true, and damaged a piece of furniture about which we never heard a peep afterwards. The driver (not the owner, which according to other reviews is whom you want) actually seemed to know how to pack the truck, but the helper was so obviously clueless about how to do anything it must have been his first time. But they were cheap. I guess here you do get what you pay for. read more

The movers were quick and professional in getting my stuff shifted to the new place. For reference, I'm a single dude with furniture for a 1br apartment. I was moving from the second floor to another second floor 10 miles away. The two movers (Lamar and another dude who's name I can't remember) managed to get all of my stuff in the new place (including bed disassembly/assembly) within 3 hours. My only advice would be to stock up on shrinkwrap next time! Thankfully there was just enough for this move. read more

Please DO NOT go with these movers, they are highly unprofessional, they damaged practically everything we own! They DIDNT NOT wrap so many things despite our repeated requests. They just threw stuff in the truck without any cover or padding including our baby's matress and playmate amongst other things. Those things are expensive and now soiled and we can't use them for the baby because it's unsanitary. Don't be deceived by the pictures or their quote, they do not wrap all your stuff in blankets like it's shown. They did wrap some of the things after repeated requests but even those things ended up with scratches and dents. I specifically requested them to take care of our couch and dining table with chairs as those things are very expensive, those are the precisely two things they did not wrap, not one single chair. They NEVER used any shrink wrap on anything and the owner denies this calling me a liar. I usually don't give negative reviews of the businesses who own up to their mistakes and try to make it up to the customers, John on the other hand screamed and yelled at me, didn NOT listen to a word I said. I wish I had paid a little more and got professional movers. These guys do charge less than others but it's not worth risking your belongings you hold dear to you. Just a shout out to Lamage on the crew, he was the only one out of the three who was gentle with our stuff and took time to wrap somethings. Absolutely horrible experience, I will report this business and will never recommend them to anybody. Edit: I do not how to post a reply to the ownersy comment, so here goes. The proof is in the pictures, unless you're saying that I damaged my own furniture just so I could pick a fight with a moving company owner. We tipped because we are not cheap and we hadn't taken a look at our stuff yet, mostly because your men kept reassuring us they'd taken good care of everything. I'm replying two days later because that's when we came to stay at the new address, I have a new baby and I'm a nursing mother, so we stayed at a friend's place for a couple of nights, not that I should have to explain this to anybody. I paid you a deposit even though you'd waived it off due to delays in responding. Never once did you mention not using any shrink wrap even when I said we needed help packing with the baby, your crew just admitted this it to me on call. You gave us a 5/hr Yelp discount, but I'd rather you not and get the job done, however much you want to charge. I just noticed the owner responded to my review. Stumbled on it in Yelp totally by happenstance when the app gave me a notification. Anyway, It's a photo of their truck when they arrived at the house. Not sure how that could be fake. Seriously, what could be fake about it? The photo has metadata with the time, date, and location, so reconsider the "fake" claim which is a verifiable lie. Furthermore, the owner mentioned small claims court. That never happened, which was a smart choice. The evening we moved, we filed a police report for the missing items. That is documented, so again, the owner calling it fake is odd. The owner calling me a loser is as unprofessional as they were the day we used them. The owner saying I make bad choices is ironic considering I chose to have them be our movers. Regardless, it was three years ago and life went on, but the review stands and the owners response speaks for itself. It was a bad experience. Learn from it rather than calling me a loser for starting a factual experience. read more

Rising Phoenix was easily the best moving experience we've ever had, and we've moved a LOT. Other companies show up late, contract the move out to other movers who I didn't choose from Yelp, and seem to find a way to try and charge more than the quote. I received a lot of quotes on Yelp and for for a 2 hour job their quote was the most reasonable by like, $60 (seriously). Our movers Joshua and (was it Mike?), showed up and started busting their butts right away. They finished early so they were nice enough to put some of the furniture together before leaving. And, they were very friendly and professional. If you're moving in the Phoenix area, for your sake I hope you choose Rising Phoenix. read more

This was the WORST moving experience of my life. These "movers" were an hour late. What should have been a 2 hour job turned into 4. And they stole two of our items. Expensive items. After unpacking we immediately contacted them and they of course denied it. We checked every nook and cranky of our old, and new place before letting them know. They broke off one of the feet from our new couch and then told us we had to fix it because it was Ikea's fault for not using glue. Who even says that??? Let me start by saying what a horrible experience I had with another moving company that took over 8 hours to move a two bedroom apartment into storage and tried to charge me DOUBLE than quoted, in addition to breaking several of my things as well as damaging several others. I was referred to John and he was veery prompt in responding. His crew was prompt, efficient, and went above and beyond! And The price and time was exactly as he quoted! These guys are awesome! I called last min (24-48 hours from my move day) and they were able to help. They were on time and brought all the necessary equipment.
