My visit at the Rocklin Ca location over the weekend was absolutely outstanding the Regional Manager came over to our table and made sure everything was good, his name was Victor Perez and also our server was very attentive and she picked out a very exquisite red wine to pair with our food her name was Aleyna Camacho, she was very easy-going and made some jokes here and there a very good server if you ask me. We ordered the Prego Pizza Ohhhh of course it was good we ordered some starters. A couple of our favorites are the Buffalo Prawns and the homemade garlic bread. The garlic bread was made in-house from scratch..you could taste the freshness of the bread..very crunchy and cheesy and cut into triangular shapes as you can see in the pictures, But by far our favorite appetizer is the Buffalo Prawns they are deep fried, breaded and tossed in their homemade buffalo sauce, served with ranch for dipping very crunchy and executed perfectly every time we go. I want to send a special shout out to my GF who initially called the manager over and he recognized us from previous visits. He gave us the background on the company and how the dough is made by scratch from the owner that's a secret, not even the workers know how to make this specific soft dough. read more

Came in for dinner with my lady tonight. Food was pretty good. What really set this place apart was the service. Five stars for Josh he was fantastic, not sure if I have seen a better server anywhere in the country this guy was on point. Kept the drinks full and made this one of our best date nights ever! 3 stars due to this visit. Every visit before today has been pleasant. It was 80-85 degrees where they sat us. Was a very uncomfortable dinner due to sweating. It was cooler outside than our table. They seem short staffed, so the attentiveness of the waiter is lacking, but understandable. I got a combination calzone, but it seemed the cook was lazy. All the meat was still stacked so one bite was all meat making it too salty to eat. Would have been nice to have the slices separated a little and spread out. read more

The atmosphere is nice. We ate outside which is normally fun and great for the kids to run around. My complaint is, the ground under our table was covered in food that we all stepped in. I ordered the New York steak which was ok. I never use A1 steak sauce, I expect a chef to have a steak marinated or use a house sauce. Well the house sauce was A1 steak sauce, ruined the steak. This was our second time in six years, and I have to say, we weren't entirely impressed. My family brought my husband's mother to dinner with us and she ordered the Egg Plant Parm and was brought out the Veal Parm. Furthermore, my 7 year old chose to make his cheese pizza, and our waiter had the kitchen make it. When both orders were brought out, he made my mother-in-law wait 10 minutes with out any compensation for making her wait while the rest of us ate our hot meals. My son was upset he didn't get to make his own pizza. The food was okay, but personally, not worth the price. Especially, when the entrées did not come with any side salad or bread. We ended up spending more money just to enjoy bread with our dinner. I'd also like to mention they charge an additional $2.99 for a "kids" drink on top of the $10 kids pizza for a 7 year old. But it was confirmed by them and had to be updated to say it was ready. Manager said it was hit by accident. He was very rude and said we can do it now or just leave. I wouldn't go here again. I got the chicken pasta alfredo and the chicken was frozen reheated and gross. We got the caprese salad and some of the tomatoes were over ripe and mushy. You don't even get a small salad or side with your entree. It just wasn't a good experience unfortunately. read more

We have a neighborhood group that meets for dinner monthly. It was my turn to pick the restaurant. Tonight we went to one of my favorites, Skipolini's. It was perfect. Twelve people in our party, surprisingly no one had been there before. Everyone enjoyed the experience and said they can't wait to go back. Our server, Caitlyn was amazing. I was in town on business and stopped in with my Boss to grab a quick bite for dinner. I had a small 1/2 cheese 1/2 peperoni which was incredibly tasty. He opted for a medium with extra, extra anchovies. My pizza was excellent although a small, the dense crust was so filling, it was too much. But I finished it anyway. My Boss also enjoyed his pizza tremendously (which I have to take his word for it since I am anti-anchovy) even though he could only manage to eat half of it. The restaurant was a little loud but also pretty crowded and the ambiance was good. But the real star of the show was our server Haley. She was such an absolute pleasure, funny and just all around awesome. She seemed to genuinely enjoy doing her job. Next time I'm back in town i will make a point to come back here. I am writing this after my second time at the restaurant. Both times we ate outside and probably will every visit because they have a small play area for kids. Having the option of letting my son play in an inescapable and safe area while my wife and I enjoy food and drink without worrying about him is invaluable. The pizza is good not great but I still have the rest of the menu to try. Also, they have a "make your own" pizza for kids that is always fun. They have a nice beer selection with pitchers available. Had dinner at Skipolini's last night before our movie. We told our waitress we had a movie to go see in less than an hour. She was great got our drinks fast, meal out as fast as they could. Our bill was given to us with out asking or waiting for it. Food came out very hot! Cheesey bread was very good. The roll our food came with was very yummy and soft. I went here with my family for a late lunch and the place were pretty empty, besides us there were three other families there. I should have known better and left before they even seated us, we stood in the front lobby for close to five minutes before anyone came and greeted us and sat us. The server was nice but that's as good as it got, the customer service was horrible. After we got our food we were barely checked up on and when the server made an appearance he didn't notice my husband needed a refill so we had to ask for one. When it was time to pay we waited over 10 minutes for someone to come get the check, I was seriously pissed off because there was a group of servers just hanging out talking at one of the tables. Downtime or not that is so unprofessional. As far as food goes, it was mediocre at best. I ordered the cajun pasta and it was so bland I didn't finish it nor did I take it to go. My kids had the spaghetti with alfredo sauce and they left it practically untouched and hubby had the cheeseburger which he said was nothing special. After reading all the great reviews and receiving recommendations from friends, I ordered my first pizza from Skipolini's last night. I ordered a small vegetarian pizza (via Grub Hub) and waited anxiously for what I thought would be an awesome pizza. I could not have been more disappointed! The crust was soggy, there was very little sauce or cheese on it to speak of, and the veggies were WAY overcooked. I paid almost $40 for a small pizza and ended up throwing almost all of it away. In the future I will stick with the pizza chains (Round Table, Mountain Mikes, Dominos, etc.). While they may not be high end, they are consistent and I know I'll be happy with it. read more

The hubs and I were waayyyy out in the burbs last night and decided to try something new for dinner. Skipolini's looked crowded and I checked my mobile Yelp app and it was a go. It was super crowded and LOUD when we arrived but after everyone with kids left it was a nice atmosphere. The place is huge and would be good for a group. Before I forget - only beer and wine. I don't really drink so that's fine but I thought I would throw that in. Pizza was very good. Thick crust and doughy. Lots of toppings. Medium was way more than enough for two people. We also had the skip's dip which is a combination of olive oil, balsamic, spices and cheese. Again...way too much for two people. But tasty. We had excellent service. While we were waiting for our pizza the manager came over and said they accidentally made our pizza with the wrong toppings....so they were in the process of making us another pizza. He brought out the incorrect one and then put the correct one in a box to take home!!! Totally not necessary. We ended up bringing home so much food. Very classy. Our waitress was efficient and sweet. They have a little dessert area with gelato and kind of a cafe style. I was too full, but everything looked tasty. There is a nice patio too. From the decor and ambiance you would think you are about to embark on a much anticipated pizza or pasta festival. Don't be fooled by the pizzazz! Food is mediocre at best. We visited due to legendary "PREGGO" pizza which actually sounded tasty since it contains every topping they have and claims to have special powers that are supposed to get the ball rolling or should I say baby. The pizza was very dull and all the flavor was in the toppings. They also have this strange thing where they put raw onions on the pizza after it's cooked. Ugg...is this a chain? It's like if Bennigans decided to reincarnate as an "Italian" restaurant. My cheese ravioli tasted generic at best, and the Bolognese sauce was very liquidy, with small chunks of beef strewn throughout. My fiancee's seafood risotto (containing salmon, shrimp, and asparagus....all her favorites) was mush. What's funny, is her being Asian, said the texture reminded her of bad congee. Seeing every episode of Hells kitchen, I knew right away it didn't look right. The only reason not a 1 star is because everyone had great customer service skills. During shutdown we have been disappointed with pretty much all restaurants but Skipolini's. They have been amazing in every way and all of the employees have stayed positive and upbeat and grateful during it all. The food had been consistently amazing. We stick with pretty much the same dishes but mostly because they are so good! I would say that if you have a choice pick Skipolini's they run their business like a mom and pop shop where everyone matters and the quality of their food and satisfaction of their customers matters more than a quick table turnover. read more
