Hidden Gem Not the greatest picture, I know! I couldn't wait to dig in to my plate because it smelled sooooo good so I ended up taking a pic after I had eaten and my food was in a to-go container ‍ Husband and I went to Vaiano for date night. We both got the Zuppa Di Pesce. Which is described as the "Fisherman's Stew" but is basically Cioppino. We added the penne pasta as a filler. When I tell you it was delicious it was DEEE-LICIOUS! The penne just pulled it all together just like having it when I was a kid. We also got the bread basket, the caprese salad and shared a cup of the Fagioli soup. No joke, our bill came to just under $100. Tell me when the last time was "post covid" you and another person went out to DINNER and got the works with leftovers for less than a buck?? I'll wait. Lol and to top it off the food was bar none amazing. So flavorful, so aromatic, so authentic.. just GOOD! Our waitress was very busy, but still made us feel like we were her only patrons. The ambiance was very Tuscan and quaint. We loved it! Will definitely go again!!

My friend was raving about how good this place is so I put it on my list of places to try. Years ago we were unable to walk in and get a table. This time we made a reservation for Sunday evening. The place is modest from the outside and casually decorated inside with limited seating. Overall I thought the food was ok not great. The Caprese salad was refreshing. My son's spaghetti pomodoro was well flavored but the homemade marina sauce was too watery. My wife and son liked their Zappa de pesce and fruitti de mare. My lasagna tasted bland but was filling. I thinks it's a good place for locals but from Folsom I'd rather drive past it to Roseville for our usual go to place.

Five of us ladies decided to come here for lunch. We ordered a bunch of entrees and ate it family style. The place is small and quaint. We were the only customers and our server was nice. We ordered: *Caprese 4/5 *Chopped salad 5/5 *Ravioli, this was the dinner size and it was pricey considering the portion4/5 *Cioppino, also dinner size, pricey 3/5 *Spaghetti bolognese, decent 3/5 *Margherita pizza 3/5 it was just ok *Sausage, mushroom, olive pizza 3/5 *Panne Cotta 5/5 *Tiramisu 5/5 *Affogato 5/5 Overall we enjoyed the food and wish some of the entrees were portioned better. That part was disappointing but we enjoyed our lunch. Will gladly return in the future!

We came here summer 2022 as I had some gift cards to celebrate my wife's birthday. I never go to Granite Bay so it was a bit of a haul and it was just way past Douglas Blvd. From the outside it looks like a gated farm house. Yelp seemed to have magically made my review for this place disappear along with my entree photos. All of our 3 dishes were underwhelming and most of all, the plates were beyond stingy in portion size. Barely above a child portion. Maybe some places the child portions are larger. The server was ok but wasn't overly friendly and a bit short with convos. The place seems to get it's locals as it is small but packed. I doubt I would return due to distance and dislike of especially the miniscule portion sizes. Italian is usually a feast. This place is more like a famine.

    Lasagna

Lasagna was way over cooked and burnt on top. Seemed like it was baked several times before they finally decided to serve it to a customer. We will not be returning. Wait staff was great but they need a new chef.

That was exactly what happened after my first visit here. Those meatballs lived rent-free in my brain, so coming back was an easy call. Earlier in the day we took a nice walk around Folsom Lake with some friends. Fresh air, good conversation, and by the time we wrapped up everyone had that universal look of "okay... where are we eating?" As we drove back and passed Dominick's it was one of those moments where the decision basically made itself. I was like yep... this is happening. Pulling up I noticed the line was out the door, which honestly is the Italian restaurant version of a five-star Yelp wink. A line like that usually means something good is happening inside. The place itself has a great vibe and you can tell people genuinely love this spot. While waiting I looked around the shop area and noticed they have wines available for purchase. One bottle caught my eye immediately... a 100-point rated wine. For anyone who knows wine, that's basically the culinary equivalent of a mic drop. A perfect score from top critics is rare air. Naturally I did what any responsible food lover would do... I snagged it. A 2020 Super Tuscan that felt like finding hidden treasure on a shelf. The young lady behind the counter was an absolute delight. Super friendly, welcoming, and she even laughed at one of my dad jokes... which means either it was actually funny or she deserves an Oscar. Either way, great hospitality all around. The food came out and the table looked like a proper Italian feast. We had the meatballs, calzones, a chicken panini, and the coleslaw salad. My friends were loving everything. Plates were disappearing fast which is always a good sign. Now for the moment I had been waiting for... the meatballs. They were still good, but they didn't quite pop the way they did in my memory. You know that nostalgic flavor that takes you right back to the first bite you ever had? That lightning bolt moment? I was hoping for that same flavor encore. This time it felt more like the band playing an acoustic version of the hit song. Still enjoyable... just missing a little of that original fireworks. But hey, every great restaurant gets an off day, and honestly the overall experience was still a great stop. Good food, great hospitality, and a place that clearly has a loyal following. And those meatballs? I'm confident they'll make their comeback tour. When they do... best believe I'll be back for the encore.

My last 3 visits have gotten progressively worse. 1 visit 2 months ago. I ordered my usual garlic chips and antipasto salad with their wonderful Italian dressing. The chips were subpar almost tasteless but the salad was good. 2nd visit 1 month ago. The wait for food took along time considering it was peak lunch time and the restaurant only had 4 other tables occupied. I ordered my usual with a friend. Salads were great garlic chips all dried out seemed like maybe microwaved left overs. We only maybe had one or two pieces . I did call to speak to a manager the following day just to informed of our disappointment. He only made excuses which is a-shame. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment because my sister-in-law came over on Monday 1/19/2026 I suggested going to pizzeria Classico . Let's try it again. We went around 12. There was maybe five tables, including ours. My sister-in-law was craving spaghetti and I said it had to be good here even though I've never had it before. I ordered garlic chips and my salad. Let's start with the garlic chips. They were a little fresher than the last ones but tasteless again I don't know if they're cutting back and getting cheaper cheese or what they're doing that's different but it was not good. Usually I can eat a whole pan by myself. I think I ate two pieces. My sister-in-laws pasta on the other hand was horrific. It was a pile of spaghetti, I don't know what kind of noodles they were, but they were kind of thick and all stuck together with what appeared to be a can of watery chopped tomatoes, very sparingly put on top and the meatballs were also thrown on top. They were fairly good size which was nice but they were very over cooked. No sauce at all. I did not try them. My sister-in-law took a bite of one and said it was so dried up, she could barely swallow it. We set them on the edge of the table the waitress never came back to the table. My sister-in-law will eat any kind of pasta and she couldn't even take a second bite of this. I'm sorry to say. The topper, my salad with Italian dressing that (I love ) they ran out of the dressing at 12:15. What is that all about? I tried it with balsamic no not the same. Tried it with thousand island no not the same extremely disappointing! I do have to mention that it is a pizzeria place and they do have good pizza but I haven't had any in a couple years so I cannot testify to them. The garlic chips are supposed to be well-known and delicious and again totally tasteless. To sum up, my salad was hardly eaten the garlics chips barely touched and my sister-in-law only ate a piece of garlic toast. I really wish I would've taken pictures.

Well, that being said we stumbled on Ciros Pizza Cafe. After we looked over the menu several times, we finally decided to order Calzones. I got a customize your own Calzone with Portugese Linguica, Mushrooms and Black Olives and my wife got the Calzone Classic. For our appetizer we ordered the Goofy Stix. Let me tell you, the service at the restaurant was great. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, asking as we sat at our table if we needed anything. We walked to their Soda Fountain and got ourselves drinks. We sat at our table for maybe 5 minutes when they brought out the Goofy Stix. Let me tell you, those were wonderful, Cheesey, Garlicy sticks that when paired with a dipping sauce of your choice, is very delicious. After about 10 minutes they brought out our Calzones and they were hot, and cheesy and as my wife said last night "Not alot of bread but alot more toppings inside" Which was true. Most calzones you eat have way too much breading and not alot of toppings. But in this case it was the other way around. Way more toppings inside the calzone and not alot of bread. The environment of this place is your usual Pizza Parlor and while they did have Tv's on for us to watch, we normally kept to our usual conversations just because we really enjoy each others company.
