First Time Customer (Walk In) First Impressions Let me tell you a story. I love coffee. It doesn't matter what time of the day. I visited Uptown to try Kream Coffee long time ago. I like it. Took the light rail to get there. Didn't know that Skoden Coffee took over that spot for a little bit. Fast forward to now. I was going to grab something from Snooze and I always pass Skoden inside a records store but never bothered to peek. Today was that day where Snooze and The Stewart had a building power outage. My curiosity got the best of me and took a peek inside. I love supporting small business. What I love about Skoden is they are Indigenous women owned business! I had to try their blue corn croissant. Blue Corn Croissant- Flaky with that blue corn goodness. This is a game changer for people wanting to try Native food items. This one a clear winner in my book! I want to see Fry Bread in a future menu with their coffee. Mocha Iced Coffee w/ Oatmilk- I really love the care they put into this drink!! Wow! Ambiance- This is a cool place with a records store. You can really relax here to study. A good and relaxing place to watch the light rail go by. Very cozy, warm welcoming staff. Great place to study and to bring dates here. I'm a big supporter of Indigenous people and I'm happy to find this place in Downtown. They are next to The Stewart and Snooze.

I got an iced Navajo sweet tea, iced green tea latte and a blue corn cookie Everything was delicious and refreshing. The baristas were friendly, polite, asked to warm up my cookie and brought my drinks to my table. This shop interior is beautiful if you want a post for instagram. It's a chill vibe with good music *There is free parking behind the building with a back door into the shop.

Their matcha is so good! The gal working the counter was super helpful as it was our first time visiting. Tried the mini blue corn donuts as well and they were such a simple sweet! Perfect little pairing with my drink. Thanks again!

Skoden Coffee has the best coffee in the valley! Trust me, I've tried almost all the coffee shops in Midtown Phx. Their Honey Lavender is a must try! As well as their Diné Matcha. They also carry the best pastries by ReddHouse! A must try is the blue corn croissant! They offer more pastries and drinks as well! They are located in Central Records on Central Ave. Their space is also pretty big if you want to study or hang with friends. Definitely coming back!

They are an indigenous and queer owned coffee shop, and they have the best coffee in Phoenix - what more could you ask for. Not only is the coffee great, but the service is amazing. Bon was so welcoming and friendly. I love what they are doing for the community, I highly recommend Skodum Coffee.

Apparently the shop sources coffees and teas from local businesses. For example, coffees = Infusion Coffee Roasters in Tempe, loose leaf teas and chai = Maya Tea Company in Tucson, kombucha = Milly Moon Kombucha in Phoenix, and breakfast burritos = Lua Lua Catering. [Parking]: Mostly metered parking and I ended up parking few blocks away from the shop (plenty of metered parking spots near the intersection of E McKinley St & N 5th St). [Atmosphere]: Inside of this historic house, the wall features the work of local artists. The shop also has a cute outdoor patio area with tables. [Menu]: Apparently Matcha Latte is one of the more popular drinks here. The shop offers 12 black tea options, 9 green tea options, 8 herbal tea options, 4 white tea options, and 3 oolong tea options. *** Matcha Latte (16 oz, iced - $6.25): I was surprised that my drink was sugar free by default and I probably say yes when the staff had asked about adding sweetener. The drink was not as creamy as I thought and it was honestly a fairly mediocre drink. The drink also came with a paper straw. *** A great spot for a casual 1st date due to great vibe, but matcha latte just didn't hit the spot.

The first time I ordered it unsweetened was accidental, but trying it without sweetener or flavor was what made me realize that their matcha may be the best I've ever had. I've also had their Mas matcha latte and it is also absolutely delicious and simple and still allows me to taste the matcha through the vanilla and sweetness. I've been to other places that serve Kettl matcha, but none have tasted nearly as rich as Futuro's. The atmosphere itself is true to its name. It is futuristic, simple, and beautiful. It is full of unique art pieces of all types, and they sell their coffees and teas as well. I feel at peace inside and they always have vibey music playing at a perfect volume and incense lit. The service itself is one of a kind and makes me feel like I'm at a 5-star restaurant. They bring your items out on a beautiful tray and will always serve your drink with a cup of water on the side if you order it for here. They will even package your food up for you, which I would never expect from a coffee shop. It can be busy at times with a bit of a wait because the drinks are all made one at a time, but it's always worth the wait. The place isn't very big but has plenty of seating given the space. For working from home, they do have wifi but limited outlets. Their pastries served from a local bakery are also delicious.

The ambiance, drinks, and service were all great! There is an entrance to Lola Coffee from Roosevelt and another from the back near parking spaces. There is a restroom near the back entrance, and the start to the line to place an order is right near the front entrance. I saw in one of the comfy chairs while I waited for my former student to arrive. At that point, we moved to a regular table and then went and ordered drinks. She ordered a coffee, and I ordered a lemonade. We both enjoyed our drinks which were ready very quickly. There were smaller and larger tables, and there were also countertops along with business cards and marketing items at the back of the room on a thin table. Lola Coffee began with humble beginnings going back to 1992 with a cart, then Lux Coffee, and eventually Lola Coffee downtown. Now, there is even a second Lola Coffee location in Arcadia near 40th Street and Indian School. Today, they serve coffee, pastries, and breakfast. The Downtown Phoenix location hours are weekdays from 6:30 AM to 7 PM and weekends from 7 AM to 7 PM. You can see their menu, history, photos, and more on their website (https://lolacoffeebarphx.com). While I had trouble choosing between a lemonade for a cold beverage or hot chocolate for a warm beverage, it's great they have so many options. Again, try them for drinks, breakfast, or pastries. Their staff is so helpful and the actual restaurant is quite welcoming to everyone.

I came in the late afternoon to this bakery/coffee house combo, and I was pleasantly surprised with the environment. Lots of natural light and easy-going atmosphere. I had a great interaction with the barista and she recommended me some good beans to take home. The tonic itself was very refreshing, and I was happy to have it on one of the hottest days of the year up until then. Lovely vibes and the coffee is great. I think I want to come back to try their other espresso-based stuff to get a good gauge on how a flat white or cortado tastes. I'll definitely want to come back, especially to visit their larger location in Chandler.

The staff was knowledgeable and took the time to explain the menu, making the experience approachable even for a first-time visitor. I decided to try one of their signature kava beverages, and I was pleasantly surprised by how intriguing and complex the drink was. The flavor profile was unlike anything I had experienced before--earthy, bold, and distinctive in a way that felt both adventurous and refined. More importantly, the effects were exactly as described. As I enjoyed my drink, a gentle sense of relaxation gradually settled in, leaving me feeling calm, centered, and remarkably at ease without any sense of heaviness. What I appreciated most was how the experience encouraged mindfulness and connection. Lacuna offers something refreshingly different from a traditional coffee shop or cocktail lounge, creating an environment where conversation flows naturally and relaxation takes center stage. Whether you're curious about kava for the first time or already familiar with its calming properties, Lacuna Kava Bar is absolutely worth a visit. The combination of a welcoming atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, and a truly distinctive beverage experience makes it a standout destination. I left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and looking forward to my next visit.

We stopped by The Coffee Builders before my nail appointment, and honestly, I'm already planning my next visit. The whole place has such a chic, stylish, effortlessly cool vibe -- and maybe it was just the day we went, but EVERYONE was so well dressed! I absolutely loved the energy. And can we talk about the AC?! It was COLD in the best possible way. With this Arizona heat, walking into an ice-cold coffee shop is basically a luxury experience. We ordered the Blueberry Rose Matcha and the Strawberry Fields, and both were such pretty, refreshing choices. The fruity flavors made them feel like the perfect little treat before heading to my nail appointment. We also grabbed the quiche, and WOW -- it was amazing! Warm, savory, flavorful, and honestly the perfect pairing with our drinks. It was one of those little bites that makes you think, "Okay, I definitely need to come back for this again." Between the gorgeous atmosphere, creative drinks, delicious food, freezing-cold AC, and effortlessly fashionable crowd, this place checks all my boxes. It has that special "I want to come here and romanticize my life" kind of energy. 5/5-- cute drinks, amazing quiche, chic vibes, and the perfect little escape from the Arizona heat.
