I went a few times years ago, when it may have been under different ownership (and possibly under a different name). The staff is always friendly. You can sit inside or in the small courtyard outside. They have some decaf options if you're sensitive to caffeine. I had a decaf amaretto latte and it was delicious. Lots of cool art and comfy chairs to enjoy the space. The parking lot outside is shared with the other shops in the plaza. Great ambience, staff are so sweet, and honestly very roomy for a Phoenix coffee shop. There's a lovely community-focused vibe in here, and I loved the mid-century-esque interior. This was my first time in, and I came specifically to try a limited-edition frozen matcha that I saw on socials. Personally, I don't think the frozen matcha was for me, it was definitely on the sweet and milky side-- I tend to prefer the darker, earthier and matcha-heavy flavor. Swung by after hot yoga since they're in the same plaza. The barista was super nice and helpful. They have a frozen matcha machine, which was interesting. I ended up getting the hibiscus matcha drink, as the drink won't be around much longer (the hibiscus tonic is no longer made and they only have a few cases left). I've been wanting to check out this coffee shop and the retail shops nearby based on a friend's recommendation. This shop is tucked away near 7th street and Osborne Rd. I love that they feature Peixoto coffee, house-made syrups, and bagels from Bagelfelds-all my favorite things all in one place! We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. There was plenty of seating and lots of different seating areas inside and outside. The barista was so helpful and gave us her recommendations-the strawberry matcha and the matcha hibiscus spritz. Finished shopping a few steps away at Monsoon Market and was told they had a coffee shop right across the parking lot. I was very excited so I walked right over and was greeted as I walked in. Took a look at the menu and ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and strawberry cold foam! They also have food options + pastries. The barista was very sweet and helped me decide what flavoring to get in my cold foam as she mentioned it was lightly sweetened as is, but most people add a flavor. The combination was so yummy! So much comfortable seating inside + free wifi (password is on the menu). The seats were very comfortable and it was nice and open and bright. Not too busy on Thursday morning, so lots of open seating. Such a pleasant coffee shop with even better customer service, left with a smile on my face and a delicious coffee drink! I have passed by this place several times on my way to work and finally had the time to stop in today. I'm pretty sure there was a coffee shop in this location in the past several years ago. I was confused that the name of this coffee shop was "Strip Mall".. haha I was wondering where to find the coffee shop in the strip mall! I tried a cappuccino with oat milk and a basic sweet crepe (with sugar and lemon). Both were delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The one thing I would have liked better about this place would be if there were a cozier ambiance. The furnishings do not seem to have a common theme. My favorite aspect of this new coffee shop is the vibe. Great space for hanging or working, with cute art. They have a simple menu: all drinks one size (16 oz for iced, 12 oz for hot), all made with oat milk. Their beans are from Peixoto, and they have matcha and chai for the non-coffee people. There's a good selection of syrups to mix up the flavors. Their chai didn't blow me away, but service, location, and the general vibe were enough to bring me back. Food-wise, they serve some snacks similar to offerings at nearby Monsoon Market, but with a little more substance if you're looking for breakfast. The vibe itself is funky and cute and open to all ! Love that ! They have lots to look at a menu where there is something for everyone. Unfortunately the coffee missed the mark for me . I tried an iced vanilla latte with Decaf espresso and oatmilk . Upon first sip I tasted sour coffee shots and oatmilk with almost no vanilla . I went back in to ask if there was a way they could make it sweeter or creamier so I could enjoy my coffee . The barista guy asked me "what kind of milk did you get ?" I responded "oatmilk " and he replied "I hate oatmilk "... uhm okay .... I just kind of nodded since I've had plenty of other delicious coffee with oatmilk as the base and knew it was the sour shots not the oatmilk . He was at least kind enough to pour some more house made vanilla syrup in my drink - which improved it some but I ended up tossing the coffee . Stopped by this cute place for a business meeting this morning and love the vibe. Very chill and Era was so sweet and made me a special drink. It was fine, but not much more. Heard good things so swung in for lunch and coffee. The shop was cute with lots of local art and event info on the walls. There was a wide range of people working and hanging out, which is always nice to see. The young woman behind the counter was of no help whatsoever in deciding what to try. We ended up getting a dirty chai and an iced coffee with some cream, a panini, and a bagel. When the coffees were up there was no marking which was which. I tried to ask but the barista vanished. The cook was scrolling on his phone and said he didn't know. We sorted out which was which, and they were both fine. The bagel was good and the cashew cream cheese was tasty. The panini took a long time, maybe because it was competing with TikTok for the cook's attention. It was... fine. Which is just how I felt about the whole place after leaving. If you're nearby and want a coffee, I'll always support a local shop over Starbucks. But not a place I'd go out of my way to try again. read more

Really cool new coffee shop! I love monsoon market so I was excited to see they opened this place up! They only have oat milk but luckily I love oat milk. I think they use piexoto coffee, I had a cold brew with a little oat milk. It was ready right away and super delicious! It was a bit busy but everything moved fast and people working here were nice and friendly! Loved the cool art in here. I saw they also sell the locally TikTok viral bean and cheese burritos. I first met Koral over at Monsoon Market some time ago. She was friendly, sweet and had a real laid back vibe. Her place was awesome, and I loved being in there. Fast forward to Strip Mall, which just opened on February 17th, and we meet again! But maybe we are the only ones who love ordering a hot coffee in Arizona in May.. 8 or 9/10 I got the dirty chai with cinnamon and nutmeg. not thick or creamy!! The nutmeg and it being a little more "water downed" gives the chai a more traditional taste. ALSO oat milk is the standard base choice for the lactose free folks. Overall rating 7/10. I was really excited to try Strip Mall. I first saw them on Instagram when they opened up in February. I finally made it out this morning. There was no line which is fine, sometimes you're just not busy in the morning. I ordered my usual that I get at almost every coffee shop I go to, which is an Espresso Tonic. My wife ordered an Iced Honey Latte which is a solid choice as well. The service was pretty quick, in that time I was able to check out the restrooms and sitting areas which were very clean! My Espresso tonic was served with the remaining Tonic Water Bottle on the side. Pretty standard. But man that Espresso Tonic was not bright, sweet, and complex as I prefer. The espresso it self was muddled. Almost as if they pulled the shot using used grounds. There was no complexity to the flavor, very mute. The drink was not bright. As other reviewers have mentioned Strip Mall uses beans from Piexoto Roaster, which is a local favorite of mine. Piexoto has an Espresso Tonic drink of their own which is arguably one of the best in the Valley. Strip Mall does not even compare or come close. Honestly doesn't even do Piexoto Justice. My wife's Honey Latte tasted very sour. The honey flavor was very pronounced in the latte but in the worst way. The milk tasted sour, even if it is oat milk it shouldn't taste like this. Think Honey Soy Milk with no coffee flavor. Like I said I was excited to try Strip Mall. I rarely finish a drink and these I had to toss after a few sips. I'll probably try them again in a year or so, but till then I hope y'all get better! I believe in you. read more
