    Condiment

Food was okay but with 45 years of server experience, to receive a condiment bottle that you asked for, it's dropped off empty and filthy. There's no excuse. Even if it's your first day in the job! Do better!!

We came in here for dinner after a day kayaking on the Fox River. It's nice that they also offer outdoor seating, but it was waaaaay too hot for that the day we stopped in! The service was okay, though they were out of one of the items that was ordered and the waitress didn't know that. Also, my friend noticed someone eating ribs as we walked through to our table, and was hoping to get those. But they were only for a special regular customer. Rather rude. The food was good, but it was offset by the other issues.

    Some neat, tasty drinks.

Utica is such a cute town! The main street is closed with beautiful flowers, decor and outdoor eating. Skoog's Pub is a great place to have a drink and eat. They have some really neat, different and tasty alcoholic drinks. The wings are really good! We ordered 50 wings with different sauces for only $47! The Santa Fe Egg rolls were delicious. The prices are reasonable. Great vibe, great service. I will be back!

A great stop after a long day of hiking. There are both great indoor and outdoor seating options. The location is in a little main street area with the center blocked off for outdoor seating. I ordered the fried corn bites (delicious) as well as a dirty Shirley type of drink and the grilled hoagie. The hoagie was okay, pretty much like a patty melt. The Cole slaw and sweet potato fries were awesome! My friend ordered the chili and I tried it and I would give it a 5/10. It was kind of watery and could use more beans in my opinion.

    Rental price

They have a side room to rent called Table Grace 149. We contacted them about renting it for a bridal shower. The information we received said room rental was $150. We met with Megan about six weeks early to look at the room and put down a deposit. We told her we were just going to have mimosas and a dessert bar and she said great. The day of the shower we provided a mimosa bar and desserts. When we went to pay the bill, the room charge was surprisingly $300. We questioned the bartender and she said that was correct. We told her we were expecting to pay $150. She did try to contact a couple people to verify. The bride and her mom were close by so we didn't want to make a scene and just paid the bill. I later looked at the information they sent us where it said room rental was $150 so we contacted Megan again. She referred us to a different area of the information that said if you cater in other food the rental goes up to $300. This is right by the part that says we can bring in our own desserts. We did not cater in other food. We brought in desserts which it stated we could do. The wording did not make it clear that we would be charged more for bringing in the desserts. (See pictures) Also, when we arrived all the chairs were up on the tables so we had to put them down and even though employees walked through the room, no one even greeted us until the bartender showed up. At one point we were told that a service person was going to come look at the garage door/window in the room and may have to put it up for a little while to decide how to fix it. This would be in the middle of the shower. Luckily, he never showed up. I would not suggest renting this space as we feel like we were scammed.

It's just ok. I was pleased they had a veggie burger. The patty itself was hot and a good portion. I didn't get cheese on it though so maybe that would have made it better. I didn't want fries so I got a small side of cottage cheese. My mother wanted the taco salad and ate most of it. The menu described the meat as a mix of taco meat and beans. The seating outside was pleasant and under nice canopies. It was a beautiful day and quiet during the week. Our waitress though was somewhat abrupt with us? I guess it was her personality, just seemed to not want to be there. We were served our meals on nice white sturdy dinnerware but served plastic forks and knives in plastic wrappers. The plastic silverware was cheap and not sure why they can't use real silverware if they have nice plates? It was just odd. It's a good location and ok for a quick meal if you don't want anything fancy.

We arrived in the middle of the afternoon. We were seated under the canopy with a cool breeze and great music. Our drinks were cold. The quality of our food was great. Will definitely return.

After a long hike at Starved Rock, I decided to replace the calories that I burned. This place was just the place to do so. They were quite busy but I got a seat quickly. The staff was all very friendly, helpful, and clearly enjoyed their job here. The place feels very close knit and inviting which is a fresh change of pace from the city. The Cheeseburger I ordered was AMAZING. Sometimes, a LARGE burger like this can be overwhelming and not seasoned correctly. But this one was PERFECT. It's been a long time since I had a burger that was as perfectly balanced as this one. Serving the cold ingredients on the side was a great touch as well. Once added, they provided the perfect balance and snap to a terrific burger. Typically a burger this size also just falls apart as soon as you take it off the plate but again, somehow they have the ratios down to a perfect balance. The burger remained intact the entire time. The fries were perfectly battered, cooked, and seasoned as well and provided a nice addition to the plate. Overall this was a great experience. This is a SOLID choice if you are in the area. I can't wait to stop by again and try more of their options!

Review Visit: August 26th, 2015 Skoog's. Swedish for 'jumbo tenderloin'. The first thing you'll notice (or not) is that the bar signage for Skoog's is overlaid on a Swedish flag. This had me wondering if we were going to experience some kind of Swedish/European eatery on the inside. Sadly, that wasn't 100% the case. Inside Skoog's was a pretty typical pub. It had a dining area and a bar area. It had this feeling of aged wood that has seen enough stories to last a lifetime. It had a small level of coziness and welcoming to it that seems to be hard to capture in words or replicated by other places. The decor on the walls was sparse but effective in making the walls feel full without being cluttered. But, I don't remember there being much of a Swedish theme to the place. That really isn't concerning as I was more curious if it would based on the signage out front. My girlfriend and I needed some grub and needed it fast. We spent the afternoon hiking at Matthiessen State Park, getting lost, and then hiking some more once we got ourselves re-orientated with where we were. Who knew getting lost could build up such an appetite. As we sat there, looking over the pretty standard bar menu, I noticed they served tenderloins. I was on a tenderloin addiction around this time of my life so it was only natural that I would get one here. My girlfriend got something different than her usual burger. She ordered some chicken tenders. If you aren't familiar with tenderloins, let me fill you in. They are a big piece of deep-fried pork and is about 4x the size of the bun it's served on. It is a sandwich that requires you to eat half of the pork patty before you get to the bun and toppings. It's a big pain in the butt to eat and I love every second of it. The size of the tenderloin did not disappoint. It looked and smelled amazing. As I nibbled on the tenderloin, I knew it was just what I needed after a long day of hiking. The tenderloin was a bit juicy, which is how I like them. The toppings complimented the 'loin perfectly. It was easily the best tenderloin I had in all of 2015. The fries on the other hand, were just okay. They looked great but only tasted so-so. My girlfriend agreed but said her chicken tenders were the bomb. Her words, not mine. After a long day, Skoog's was perfect. Not a perfect score in my books but a perfect way to start the winding down for a relaxing evening. We did stop for ice cream at the Country Cupboard Ice Cream Shoppe, but that is another story for another day. P.S. - Skoog's is actually Swedish for the word 'forest', not 'jumbo tenderloin'.

For $13 I was able to get a fried fish sandwich with fries. So so delicious and feeling the fish was huge. I was able to eat the rest when I got home my friend got the chicken wings with the side of fries and she also enjoyed her food too.. since it was hot we opted for a table inside and were able to be seated right off. Good place to go for food and without breaking the bank too .
