    @food_explore_travel_adventure  Lumpia Sliders

    Yummy Filipino Food Skrtch Ktchn | Food Truck @skrtchktchn is a Filipino-American Fusion food truck serving lumpia sliders and chicken adobo fili within their menu. The Sliders are amazingly delicious! This fair-priced food truck gives you 4 Sliders along with chips and macaroni salad with your plate! This is a MUST TRY! @food_explore_travel_adventure

    I honestly wanted something else but my baby moms heard from a couple people that this truck is fire, so we "had" to try it and guess what!? It's hilariously Filipino! I wanted to be a snobby bitch boy cuz I wanted k-bbq but gahhhh damn! Enjoyed myself nonetheless. We tried everything cuz my wife's expensive like that and it was all good but I personally liked the lumpia sliders most. The owners are good people, usually very busy but still kept a smile like they wasn't. Got a New fan!

    Beat filipino American fusion food. Lumpia sliders are the best. They also have a must try Lumpia melt.

    Their lumpia sliders are what caught my eye and made me want to track them down at the San Diego food fest.

The staff was very gracious in the face of the huge crowd and a mountain of orders. The location is spacious with plenty of room to line up and tables to sit and eat or wait on orders. The parking was easy too which was a bonus. For food we got two orders of the big greedy with yams, greens, baked beans and the new mushroom rice. I will stress that everything was excellent and we would get this exact order again, but a few particular standouts were 1) Fried Catfish. Our favorite protein by far. It was deliciously seasoned, perfectly fried, and succulently tender, 2) Candied Yams. They were sweet, tender and nicely balanced, 3) Mushroom Parmesan Rice. We only tried this because so many of the other sides were sold out and man are we glad we did. Our family tore this side up! The mushroom parm gravy was smooth and creamy with large chunks of mushroom. Definitely a great addition to the sides list. Our family can't wait to go back and try more of what CBB has to offer. So glad they've got a brick and mortar restaurant now!

This Hawaiian food truck was hands down one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. If you're craving authentic Hawaiian food, this is the place to go. I can't recommend it enough and will definitely be coming back again and again. I ordered that with a side of mac and cheese. $20 later I was given a plate with what looked like a delicious sandwich and Mac and cheese. I went to pick up the sandwich and the bottom bun must have had that meat sitting on it for 10 min.. It was completely soggy and had to use a fork to try and eat the meat which had a substantial amount of fat I should have taken it back. The Mac and cheese my kid lives.. He took one bite and didn't eat any of the rest.. I didnt either. . It was Luke warm.. And very little of any flavor. Comon guys.. If you're gonna have $20 sandwich out there.. Make it memorable. Switch out the bun.. For goodness sakes.. It would have made a big difference. You were not busy.. And even if you were.. Do the right thing.

We tried the pulled pork sandwich and the smoked beef sandwich. They were both terrific and you get an absolutely MOUND of meat with both dishes. The BBQ sauce used was a tad sweet but not too sweet. Both proteins were incredibly tender and juicy. We also tried the mac and cheese and beans and, as with the meats, you get a ton of whatever side you order (you get one side per plate). The mac was a little dry but still delicious. The beans were smoky and OUT OF THIS WORLD TERRIFIC. I'm not kidding. These are life-changing beans, if there can be such a thing. Frequently parked outside the Lost Abbey in San Elijo, this is a truck you want to check out. The food was served very quickly after ordering so no long wait like with most food trucks.

We were initially aiming for the crispy shawarma however only Mira Mesa and La Mesa does it. So I guess that's next on our list! The wraps were unexpectedly big! All of these perfectly paired with their garlic sauces. My favorite is spicy lemon garlic! The staff are very knowledgeable about their menu. It's a food truck set up and there's mini standing tables for alfresco dining. SG was definitely lived up to the title #1 restaurant in the country on Yelp!

Not really an ambience since there's not much as far as a dining room. There are a couple of cocktail tables where you could eat. After ordering online at 20:20pm, my estimated pick up time was 8:39pm and got the order at 9:03pm. The cashier informed me their chicken is taking a while and added extra time to the wait. It probably would've been faster if they weren't so backed up. I ordered the Wagyu beef and chicken shawarma plate for me and my wife to share. I added 3 falafels and pita bread on top of it. The food was still fresh when I got home 15 mins later. Everything was good and just enough for us two. Also, I'm not sure why there's a range of where they may be located on Yelp since this is just a food truck that seems to be permanent at this location.

Quality is the same but dare I say even better than the chula vista location! We ordered the following: -fish tacos (must order) -shrimp quesdilla (must order) -aguachile rojo (must order) -quesabirria taco I love that they don't overcompensate with batter when it comes to their fish tacos. You can actually taste the fish and everything about it is SO flavorful! Their shrimp quesadilla was also a surprise banger! Incredibly tasty and can last as 4 meals between 2 people, the portion is HUGE! Not too salty at all but so addictive. Lastly, their aguachile is a must! I wasn't even planning on getting mariscos that day but it felt like a sign so I took it as a little treat. It's a food truck setup with folding tables and chairs and a pretty big parking lot since the plaza itself is kind of dead. Parking was easy and there was plenty of space. I walked up and they were doing construction on the tent right above where you order and it was really loud. I feel like that could've been done during closing because it disrupted the vibe. The area is already a little rough so it just made things feel a bit off. The lady working was super sweet. She took my order, you pay right after and they do accept tap to pay which I love because I don't carry cash. They take your name and call you when it's ready. I got mine to go, waited about 10 minutes, and everything came out pretty quick. They packaged everything really well too which I appreciated because aguachile can easily spill. For the tostada they gave two packs of saltines and three tostadas which felt like a good portion. They also had fresh salsas at the truck but I skipped them since my taco already came with sauce. I ordered a fish taco and an aguachile verde tostada. I went home excited to try everything but honestly it didn't really hit for me. The fish taco was a good size with a lot of cabbage and a white sauce, but the fish was a little too soft. I wish it had more crisp and overall the flavors just weren't memorable. It's about $3.70 so fair, just nothing standout. The aguachile verde was the weakest part. Some shrimp textures were off and a few had a strange aftertaste. I've had a lot of aguachile recently and this was probably the lowest quality. I will say they were generous with the avocado and the sauce itself had a nice spicy kick, it just didn't come together overall. There was also an earthy note from the seeds that was very prominent which I have never experienced in aguach For the price, I paid around $20 with tip for both which isn't bad for the portions. It satisfied the craving in the moment but not somewhere I'd go out of my way to come back to.
