Have been passing by this little coffee shop for weeks and finally pulled in. Something about the experience felt a bit confusing until I realized what it was. I could see their whole face. Lol If you are at any amount concerned about COVID during this time they were not wearing a mask when we pulled thru. Who knows how many people are interacted with in a day so just a heads up. Once you pay and get your card back, you may be verbally asked if you want to leave a tip. Sort of put a sour note on the experience. I'm getting take out through a drive thru. Tipping is optional and I often tip based on service of course when I go into an establishment, but probably better business having a tip box on the outside at window or on screen when paying for customer to decide on their own. By far Sky Kai (previously known as Coyote Coffee) has the the best mochas in Washington state. I have been coming here for 13 years and the drinks have always been consistent. The mochas are the star of the menu. Most mochas are too sugary for my taste. These have the right balance of coffee and chocolate. I don't live nearby anymore, but I will drive out of the way to visit Sun Kai! read more

Coyote Coffee is a convenient espresso drive-thru on highway 305. The Barista's are trained and experienced. The espresso shot is timed and adjustments are made to the grind when needed. Crema is a priority and you can taste the perfectionism. The owner is a delightful independent business woman and a mother of two children. She is a life long community member and supports other local businesses. The espresso and drip coffee is roasted locally within 5 miles by Grounds For Change, fair trade organic coffee. Customers rave about the flavor and smoothness of the bean. Coyote Coffee uses compostable cups and lids and recycles all the materials they can. Sometimes they supply local gardener's with spent grounds to feed soil. I read the comment by Jake and feel the need to reply. The granita machine is no longer used. I used to be a very loyal customer of the Masi Shop Espresso -- wanting to support tribal business and all that so for a long time I didn't patronize Coyote Coffee. How stupid. They serve Grounds For Change coffee, which is among the best coffee I've ever tasted (particularly the Agate Pass Blend) -- they also sell it by the pound so you should check that out if you like good coffee. Their espresso is perfect, never burnt or old tasting. They offer hot shots or cold press upon request. Batista's are all friendly and knowledgeable which is a relief. If you've never tried one, you should get one of their breakfast burritos. Delicious, all of them. Italian sodas and all the other usual fare is also available at reasonsable prices. So, if you've been hesitating on stopping here, I recommend giving it a shot! read more

A drive up coffee stand right on the 305 highway. Good coffee, specialty drinks and they usually have some monthly special. Two drive up windows and the open up early for us commuters. The coffee is good but service is frustratingly slow, there can be 3 people inside, one car at the window (mine) and it still takes 5 minutes to get one coffee! Also, they never ask if I have an electronic 'punch' card, I have to tell them! I used to stop there almost daily but now rarely, service sucks. read more

Now called Sky Kai Coffee - same people just new name! We love going here on the way out to hikes, the mountains or visits to Port Townsend and Port Angeles. They know how to make espresso without burning it, and make a good cappuccino (and ask if I want it the dryer side or not). Super friendly people, and love to support local businesses. Best coffee place I've found EVER. It's right off the high way in a little coffee stand. I actually drive off of Bainbridge Island JUST to get this coffee and then drive back. I get the regular latte and it tastes otherworldly. Never burnt, always the right temperature...just a great great taste. The staff is always super friendly and engaging, it's an all around great experience. This is worth the drive - this is the best coffee hands down. read more
