Tasty food, at a slightly upscale price - $19 for brisket sandwich. I like the open kitchen, and it has large TV's for those who need them and an outdoir patio. Staff is friendly and quick. A great complimemt to the T&C market.

Brisket with sides of mac and cheese as well as beans

We came for the barbecue, and I am glad we did! The food was amazing! The brisket was soft and juicy, and the mac and cheese was amazing! The potato salad was okay, but not really much to rave over, although it was decent. I also tried the beans as well and they were pretty good! The arnold palmiers (a mix of black tea and lemonade for those who don't know) were great as well! The lemonade was quite sweet and tart, and the black tea was quite refreshing! Afterwards, we got dessert (most of which I sadly forgot to take pictures of), and they were all really good! The ice cream in the sundaes and root beer floats were really creamy and sweet, and the crème brûlée was heavenly, very creamy with a crunchy sugar layer on top which was really enhanced with the berries they put on top. 5/5 stars in the food department! The place was really nice, and had a cozy atmosphere. The place was really clean, and the restroom was also pretty clean. 5/5 stars for cleanliness and coziness! Service was great! The brisket and ribs came out pretty fast, along with the drinks and the crème brûlée and sundae! Although, it took half an hour just for 3 rootbeer floats to get out, which I can forgive as that order didn't reach the kitchen (they were in a separate order from the barbecue) and it seems to be a rare occurrence. 4.5/5 stars for service, rounded up to 5! Overall, this place is really great and is a must-try location! Although, I will say that this may leave a hole in your wallet if you decide to go.

    Bacon and blue burger
    Julie K.

We stopped by Field House inside Town & Country today. Ordered a salmon BLT and bacon and blue burger. Both came with fries and both were $18. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the salmon and it was cooked perfect! Bacon was good quality and was also cooked perfect on both. The Sauce on the burger was great and it was juicy! We were both a little disappointed in the fries as they tasted like they had just been sitting under a warmer, but they have great potential. You do need to buss your own table. We will definitely be trying this place out again. They do have a happy hour from 3 to 5 Monday through Friday and brunch on the weekends. My husband felt it was a little pricey. But liked the fact there was no tipping unless you left it on the table. And the ambiance was to be expected for a grocery store.

    Fish and Chips!

I knew the BBQ was tasty, but went inside and had the fish and chips. The fish was perfect, not a lot of heavy batter...it was light and delicious. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and a root beer for the non drinkers.

    Bacon bleu burger

The wife and I checked out this place yesterday, and it's definitely not really worth it. I think they try to rope you in with the modern look, but that's all that it is. I ordered the bacon bleu burger and my wife ordered the veggie bomb pizza. My wife's pizza wasn't really anything to write home about. I don't think they let the dough ferment enough so it can be soft, fluffy and crunchy at the same time. It was basically similar in quality to Tutta Bella, another overhyped pizza place. The cook on my burger was not even close to what I ordered. I ordered my burger rare, and the cashier assured me they could do it that way, and even my receipt said rare. However, the burger that was served to me was definitely given to me well done. The dipping sauces for the French fries were ok, I got the truffle aioli and ranch. Being that the burger was so overcooked it actually needed the sauce and my coke I ordered to wash it down. A big disappointment being that for the same amount of money, there are better places to grab a burger. It's definitely not worth a special trip here, which is a shame because from time to time we do shop at town and country.

I was so close to not making the trip, but glad I did. There is some parking outside, but there is also paid parking close by. The inside looks like your typical burger joint; limited seating, tiny counter, and 2 self-service spots where you can place your order. Not only do they serve burgers, they also sell local beers as well, given there is a brewery nearby. If you pick the right seat you could see them preparing your order. I ordered the "Firehouse Burger," and the name says it all! Regardless, this burger was huge and packed with flavor. I felt like I was about to break my jaw when I took my first bite. The patty was cooked perfectly with melted pepper jack cheese. Also included was jalapeño, which was done 3 ways: smoked, pickled and crispy. Their habanero was not only delicious, but also carried a kick to it l. I tried to add some vegan bacon, sadly they ran by the time I arrived. If you are ever in the Poulsbo, WA area, I would definitely suggest you stop by here. I doubt you will ever find a better a burger anywhere else.

The employees, even though swamped, took care of us and are cheerful. The restaurant has a homey feel. We ate outside, though in the park next to it. They carried Bedford's brand of sodas, and they are awesome! The Marion Berry cream and the root beer was so good. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. We grabbed seats at the bar, where Freddy--bartender, hero, and possible Jedi--was holding it down solo. At first, we were the only ones there, living our best VIP lives. But 20 minutes in, a wild birthday party appeared! Chaos? Maybe. Freddy? Cool as a cucumber in a walk-in fridge. Despite the madness, he still made time for us like we were the stars of the show. We ordered the Swiss burger and the Fire burger. Let me tell you: that homemade hot sauce doesn't mess around. It's the kind of spicy that humbles you--one bite in, and I was ordering another beer, not for the buzz, but for survival. Painfully delicious. The vibe? Totally vibing. The food? Fire (literally). Freddy? A legend. We'll definitely be back, hopefully with less hot sauce-induced tears and more high-fives.

There are lots of options to pick from so take your time. We also split an order of French Fries which were great! For our sweet tooth we got an Amaretto Milkshake and it was excellent! We really enjoyed this one! It was non-alcoholic and we got this particular one because this was a flavor one doesn't usually associate with milkshake options. We are so glad that we got to try it! The Grub Hut is very, very popular or at least it was when we were there and there was a small line to place our order, very little room to sit and the wait time to get our food was about 25 minutes. We didn't think that was too bad and we thought it was "johnny on the spot" timing at work to tell us that at the time that the order was placed. And I suppose they have it down to an art and need to give out times like this as this restaurant is right by the ferry terminal and Kingston so I imagine a lot of people who are using the ferry need that kind of information to plan accordingly with their meals and arrival/departure times with the ferry.

Proper Patty ($11) - This burger comes with two smash patties, both of which are heavily salted and somewhat crisped up - the pictures from other people make it seem like they cook long enough to get lacy caramelized edges, but it's not quite to that point. Instead, the burgers, while not moist and fatty, aren't dried out either, and give a great beefy flavor. The burger sauce adds some tangy sweetness, and some pickles on top adds even more sweetness, but a very fresh crunch. It's otherwise pretty standard with the lettuce and tomato. A solid smashburger. (4/5) Fries ($5) - These are fried enough to give a crust on the potatoes, but not enough for the fries to be come crisp. Still, they aren't floppy, so while not entirely crisp, these are still good for eating especially since the insides are nice and fluffy. They are salted a lot, which combined with the salty dip (we went with the Bud's Sauce), equals a parched mouth after eating. I think they actually use a lime salt or something as I can detect a bit of citrus flavor. The Bud's Sauce is a nice mayochup mixture with I think a bit of smokiness from paprika and some chopped onion. It's sweet, tangy, and salty. (4/5) Overall Burger Buds serves some nice classic smashburgers! It's great for a visit while in town for a quick and easy meal.
