My cousin was looking to celebrate his birthday with a little adventure; Skydive Houston was just the place to do so! Booking and check in was a smooth process, staff members were friendly and thoroughly explained the necessary safety measures. The choice of drop elevation was provided along with the option of a video blog for an additional fee. Two people went up each time along with their professional skydivers. The time to reach elevation and drop was round 10-15mins or so with free falling around 60 secs. The landing was smooth and my cousin was elated to have this experience!!! OMG! This was the best experience ever! From the moment we got there, (one hour early) the staff made us feel welcomed. They greeted us as soon as they got out of their vehicles! Original email- Yesterday, I came with a group of friends to skydive. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we received excellent and friendly service from all but one person. The gentleman who checked us in was wonderful. The gentleman who gave us instruction was awesome. My instructor Katy and videographer Cody were phenomenal. One photographer even gave us copies of all of our photos to our phones. Talk about going there extra mile! In fact, the other instructors and photographers were great too, except for one. It started when Katy was checking my gear. Chris B came over, yanked my shoulder harness, and said it's too loose with a smile, then walked away. I asked Katy if it was too loose. "No, he's just messing around." Fast forward to when we're on the plane in the air, he yanked it again and said it's too loose. I turned to Katy. "Is this too loose?" "No." I asked him if he was serious. He giggled. He touched it again and said, "This is gorgeous." Then he moved it down,"This is dead gorgeous." At this point I said, "Look, if there's an issue, help me. If not, I l'd really appreciate it if you'd stop." He started to laugh. "I'm serious." At this point he waved his finger from side to side and moved his head from side to side imitating a racist trope of a Black woman. I told him that he really needed to stop and then I turned away and looked out the window. I need to mention a few things here: 1. I am not afraid of heights so I wasn't nervous about the jump. As someone who has done all manner of air, land, and sea adventures around the world, the importance of safety, listening to instructors, and securing gear has been programmed into me. Never in my 40 years have I encountered someone as unprofessional about safety gear as Chris B. Not only that, when asked to stop, he kept bullying a customer. That is unacceptable. 2. I speak like a newscaster. My entire family sounds the same. I'm a professional speaker. I say all of that to say that when Chris B. performed his racist impersonation of me, it was not accurate. So if I don't talk and move that way, the only explanation for his "sister girl" act would be his making fun of my Blackness. This day in age, I don't throw out terms like "racist" often as it's a serious accusation. Notice I didn't call him racist, but his mimicking certainly was. He needs DEI training immediately. If I had been Indian American with a newscaster accent, would he have mocked me in an Apu accent or bobbled his head? Chris B. took what would have been a fabulous experience for me and tainted it. He tainted your brand. He's the reason I didn't tag your company, potentially sending you a significant amount of referrals. I prepaid nearly $400 for my jump and video. I then paid for a friend's video who looked like she wasn't going to get one. I then tipped Katy and Cody $100. I spent nearly $600, was polite, appreciative, and fun-loving with each of your employees, and this is how I was treated. I didn't want to make a scene after the jump yesterday and mess up my friend's memory of her birthday jump. As a business owner, I know that we aren't always aware of what our employees do. However, how we do respond once we learn matters. I had so much fun with the exception of my interaction with Chris B and now I doubt I'll ever return because seeing him would just remind me of his racist impersonation. That's not fun. I'm positive had his ugly behavior not occurred, I'd be a repeat customer, bringing in referrals. As it stands, I'm just not comfortable. I look forward to a response. ..... The manager called me and gaslit me saying that Chris B was a Tik Tok influencer, likely "sassed" (his word) me because I was so direct, Chris' imitation wasn't racist and I just had a different sense of humor. read more

I had such an amazing time here! My mom joined me and the energy was very chill so neither of us were worried. The head instructor Marcus was informational and kind. My skydive instructor was Dom and he was fun to be with. Although I wasn't nervous he guided me through a breathing exercise on the plane and was very communicative. The instructors here are so nice and caring. they make sure you feel safe and secure and joke around with you so you are less stressed. they take you up in a small plane, 2 jumpers at a time. they instruct you really well so you know exactly what to do. you jump and they make sure ur whole jump is enjoyable and fun. the only complaint i have is that the prices are a high. do not buy the pictures and videos from here. they are terrible angles and shots, it is not worth the money at ALL. it is so expensive for a terribly angled video that will look bad. i regret purchasing it. * they do not give jumpsuits, u jump in what you wear! read more

I just had my first skydiving experience here. All I experienced was professionalism, enthusiasm and fun! All of the folks are lovely, and my instructor Austin made me feel at ease instantly (which is important because of my epic fear of heights). They are very safety focused which I feel is pretty important for skydiving. The views from the plane are gorgeous, and the feeling of free fall is incredible. What a killer experience!! The whole staff was super professional and kind. Very thorough with safety protocols, ensured I felt safe and taken care of. The climb to 10K feet was "anxiety city" at some points, but my buddy, and the 2 instructors made it through together. My instructor went through all the safety checks prior to jumping and I thought that was really cool. The free fall was incredible, seriously can't explain it. Overall my experience was okay. I flew the day before Thanksgiving (didn't have any day in my short break to fly). Two of my friends and I went, and the experience was a blast. Both instructors on site had years of experience and we had no problems as far as the dive goes. However, I saw LITTLE TO NO professionalism. A few of the red flags that I can remember (there were definitely more): 1) The receptionist tries to be nice, but does a pretty poor job of it. Both my friends and I were contacted asking to move our time to an earlier time, since there was a large gap between their first person and us. This is fine, but she sounded frustrated when we told her we couldn't. She said something like, "I guess we'll wait here for hours doing nothing then". 2) She also said that, once we paid for photos, she can put it on a USB for free IF we all 3 give a total of 9 five-star ratings, or else it would be $10. When requested the other option, she said that "Oh, once you finish diving, you'll change your mind, but ok...." 3) At one point I asked for water, and the receptionist and my instructor told me to just get one out of the fridge. However, it's a dollar out of the fridge, and I told them if I could just use a water fountain. Then they laughed. I was confused so I asked again if they have a water fountain. The instructor said no. He then made the decision for me and told the receptionist that I will just pay her later. The receptionist chuckled and then asked me how old I was. When I told her I was 22, she said I haven't lived life yet. (ridiculous lol) 4) Again, the instructors were pretty cool and knew what he was doing. He wasn't very friendly though. He kind of just SHRUGGED off the fact that I was somewhat nervous and didn't really do anything to help. He just said "don't worry" one time. 5) When he told me what to do when we jump, and I wanted to repeat it back, he ROLLED HIS EYES and said that he'll tell me again on the plane. He ended up not telling me as much as he did that first time. 6) Him and the other instructor were trying to be funny but made a SLIGHTLY RACIST remark, both making fun of how Indians "bob their heads". One of the other instructors said he hates when "they" do that. 7) One of the other instructors repeatedly cursed. This is totally fine among my two college friends and I, and our age is probably the reason why he did it. That being said, I didn't find it appropriate or funny after the 10th time. 8) This same instructor literally was smoking a cigarette and blew smoke IN MY FACE. Not necessarily on purpose, he just didn't bother turning his head. (don't waste my life away with yours man, come on) 9) The instructors repeatedly made fun of my friends hair for looking like Justin Biebers', to the point where he didn't find it funny anymore but they still did it. 10) The instructor and receptionist told me they edit the photos if you pick the USB option, but they mentioned two different software that they use, so it sounded like they weren't really on the same page, and don't really edit the photos, or at least to the extent to which you would want. Call me soft, call me exaggerated, whatever. The facility can reply to this comment and tell me I'm lying, but I have no reason to lie. These are all facts. Overall, I recommend this place if there is no other option nearby. However, if there is another option that is not much further than this one, I would look into that option. read more

My jump experience may have been great but the video/photo package was terrible . You are better off taking pics and capturing what you can from your phone . On top of getting a bad package with no edits the customer service when I called in matched the product , TRASH. This was my first time here and my second time skydiving. My husband surprised his coworker and I surprised my niece! We paid in two separate groups (my husband and his friend and my niece and I). We spoke to numerous people about the "jumping order". He was to go with his coworker and I was to jump with my niece. When the time came for my husband's coworker to jump, his instructor (Brazilian instructor) got him suited up and ready to board the plane. All of a sudden another instructor called my name and told me I was as jumping with my husband's coworker! We all said, "no that's not correct, we set this up the day before (when my husband physically came there to pay) and again today when we checked in!" The instructor got pissy and stomped over to the board and said, "is THIS YOUR NAME? Then YOU are the person that's jumping with him. I do what's on the board!" I'm in complete shock about how much of a douche this guy is being. As I'm talking to my husband and my niece in complete disbelief, my instructor hooks his line onto me and basically drug me out of the gate towards the plane....as I'm stumbling backwards away from my family! We kept trying to get the front office to explain but not quick enough for him to rush us onto the plane. We started out on the runway and the pilot received a call from the front office explaining they had the wrong person (ME), that it should be my husband instead. My instructor said, "I just do what's on the board! If you want ti turn around, then do it!" The pilot did NOT turn around, instead we taxied down the runway and took off! The actual jumping was fine, but looking back at my video, my instructor was acting so happy and cool, meanwhile when the camera was off you could tell he was NOT happy. My niece's instructor was from Brazil and we all loved him. My niece had a great experience considering jumping out with my husband instead of me like we planned.. My husband talked it over with the front office and asked them to make this right.... They decided to refund our video packages. They didn't have to do that, they did try to make it right. I would go back as long as I could jump with the Brazilian instructor (sorry, forgot his name). Other than that we would not go back read more

We got here on time but they were running a little late. No issues because I wasn't in a rush to jump. First time doing this, and I won't lie, I was a bit nervous. My instructor Marcus was very knowledgeable and pretty funny. They went through the safety/landing process at least twice so that we knew what to do. The plane is a little small, so it will only take the pilot, two jumpers and two instructors. Flying up takes a little less than ten minutes. Before you know it, the time to jump has come. It's quick. Free fall is fast! It's really fun. Would come again.....but maybe in several years. read more

Completely unprofessional. So today is my birthday, my husbands birthday was 2 weeks ago and we saw a Groupon for this place. I called up there on my lunch break and they offer to price match me the Groupon. I scheduled for today, Labor Day, my birthday. I paid over the phone on my capital one credit card. Cap 1 offers a feature of a digital credit card on the app. It's the numbers and the cvc code. I paid with my digital credit card bc I lost it the day prior. So when I went up there my day was pre paid. When we got up there we were told we needed to pay and extra 65.00 because it was a holiday. I explained to them I didn't have the money, if I was told that when I booked I would have paid over the phone. But no one said anything, and why would they wait until I show up after making an hour drive to this place. It's like a scam! If they knew I was coming on Labor Day, why not mention it and/or give me the option to pay for it when I initially paid for the service. I explained to them I cancelled the credit card I used bc I lost it. So the receptionist said it shouldn't be a problem and she would talk to her boss. 20 min later the boss yells "hey you guys come here". We go into the office to get yelled at. He asked me what's the problem with my card. I explained I paid for my Groupon and that no one told me about this 65.00 surcharge. He then yells at me and tells me "we're doing to this to everyone and they're paying" he tells me to call someone and get a card number. I was already choking up bc this is my birthday and this miscommunication is on thier receptionist. Not only that, he lacks compassion, human decency, and CUSTOMER SERVICE. Ofcourse, I was denied a refund. I wrote a check for the 65.00 dollars and as I walked out and burst into tears. So this heartless man comes up to me and bitches me out because he said I shouldn't make him feel guilty and he is loosing money because of me. Because I found them on Groupon and gave me the price match they loose money and that's why I shouldn't be crying. I tell him through years "you're bitching me out on my birthday, and this is your receptionist fault" he then tells me this is not about me or my birthday and this is Labor Day and Labor Day is still a holiday so I have to spend the money. This was the second time he bitched me out. AND I PAID THE 65.00. He left then came back while I was talking to my husband and laughed saying "you're still talking about this" He states I'm going to ride with him and we're going to have fun. He stated he will take us to 12,000 feet instead of the normal 10,000. But the Groupon states 13,000. So not only am I getting screwed, so is everyone who purchased a Groupon. I will be reporting them to the BBB (if they are even recognized by them) and will email Groupon. And giving them 1 star on every social media platform. Skydive Houston you ruined my birthday and my husbands birthday. Go to spaceman's guys. This place is trash. read more

My daughter recieved a gift for her 18th birthday last september on three occasions we had to cancel due to weather conditions and since the pandemic we decided not to use the facility as its close contact with another person outside our family. We called today to reschedule to be told that the gift voucher had expired and was no longer valid after one year. I advised that this was not a very good way to run a business and they should honor any outstanding gift vouchers for the year 2020 I find this very unprofessonal way to run a business especially in these difficult times read more
