It was our anniversary so we thought why not. I called around the day of and was able to snag a ride with Maverick Helicopter in the afternoon. They gave us clear direction of how to check in. We had a 2pm flight and we arrived a little bit before 1:15 to check in. We checked in and did our weigh in. We decided to bring my one year old daughter for the flight. We had headphones for her but they did have baby/toddler headphones if you don't have one. The pilot and crew was so kind! They gave us a concise but brief orientation of the flight and safety procedures. My daughter fell asleep the whole ride (for any parents thinking of bringing their littles). The pilot did an excellent job highlighting and just chatting with us during the ride. He gave us great facts about the areas. The views are indescribable and truly were breathtaking. This has been my favorite activity we have done in Hawaii. Thank you Maverick Helicopter for an unforgettable moment!

He even let us start with a quick prayer over the mics as we were lifting off. We flew with a group of four plus Preston. I sat in the front middle and was plenty warm in pants and a jacket. My friend was in the back with her husband and she was freezing in pants and a jacket, so wear layers in the winter - especially if you run cold. Despite the wind and light rain, Preston kept us steady and comfortable the entire flight and went out of his way to show us places we had hiked or planned to visit during our stay on the island. Doors-off was definitely the way to see all of God's beautiful creation without limits. Seriously, the parts of the island we couldn't have seen any other way were such a gift to see 360° from the air. Magnificent doesn't even begin to describe it. She took us over Waimea Canyon, around the beaches and into the "Forbidden Forest", land owned by the same family that owns Ni'ihau Island - called the Forbidden Island. You can't go there unless you're a native or you're invited. If you're not into the high cost of a helicopter ride, give Air Tour Kauai a shot! You won't be sorry. When we landed I told him and he said "Well do you want to go back?" Isaid yes I do. I called and complained they said they would look into it and get back to me. Also for people with long legs it was SUPER uncomfortable, packed in the helicopter like sardines. Would not recommend at this point. Heard so many great reviews from other people that took helicopter rides from different companies.

We got one of the first tee times on a Friday morning to play 9 holes during our visit. We were able to rent clubs and the pro shop was well stocked for any other accessories or souvenir items we might need, We arrived a little early got our gear and cart and were instructed to go warm up at the driving range. The cart included a Bluetooth speaker and range. We hit a couple balls before the marshal came and grabbed us. He gave us a great tour of the course and told us about some of the history before letting us go on the back nine. The course was gorgeous and we didn't feel rushed as we did stop to take some pictures along the way. some of the regulars at the course would stop and help us grab some pictures of the both of us, which was so nice. The marshal would come check in on us and as groups got closer to us would just say that if we wanted to take our time, to just let them pass. It was so great how understanding and flexible they were. They know its is a beautiful course and visitors are enjoying the views and capturing the memories. After our final hole, we got back to the clubhouse and we were greeted with some cold towels. The staff we interacted with was so friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. We had a great time and were so grateful to get to play the course.

When we walked up on this place, we were legit scared! It looks like it is housed it this garage that is the color of the red clay dirt that is all over Kauai! There was no need to be scared, though, because our experience was awesome! My daughter and her boyfriend were introduced to their instructors, and they were friendly and made jokes to help them not be so nervous! They were fitted with their harnesses and went over all the safety stuff. They documented everything with state of the art Go-Pro's (they took awesome video and pics!) They went up in this tiny plane, which was also painted reddish-brown to match the clay dirt. They has an awesome 20-30 min plane ride before the jump. Both my daughter and her boyfriend had an amazing time! (This was their 1st time!) We ended up buying the videos because they were so good! I recommend this company if you want to have a great thrill on Kauai!!! read more

Stop putting this remarkable experience off! It's more fun that a human being should ever be allowed to have. My only regret is that I waited until I was nearly 74 to make my first jump. It definitely will not be my last! All the folks at Skydive Kauai are super and helped make this an incredible and unforgettable event, but those superlatives don't adequately describe what you can only discover for yourself. Be sure to get the video! It's a great tool to vicariously relive your skydive from 10,000 feet, your 5000 foot free fall and reach terminal human velocity, and then the beautiful and gentle parachute ride to the ground again and again and again and again... until the next jump. My only complaint is that I didn't skydive sooner -- and that it didn't last longer. Thanks to everyone at Skydive Kauai. I'll be back! Buzz P. read more

We were a group of 4 - 2 first time divers, and 2 more experienced divers. The crew was so friendly, and made us feel comfortable from the first moment we walked in. They were quick and thorough about the paperwork and answered every question (and concern) that came up with a smile. They say to anticipate up to a 4 hour wait, but we did not have to wait at all. The jump was incredible - a must do in beautiful Kauai!! Even while we were on the ground waiting to head up, the crew was so engaging and offered tons of suggestions for the rest of our time on the island. While we were in the air, they took extra measures to demonstrate the safety equipment, point out beautiful landmarks, and get us ready for the plunge. This team made an amazing activity even more special. I can't recommend this enough! read more

This was my son's 32nd birthday gift for my son. He has Autism and seizure disorder. non-barbal. he must be difficult to accept. but Skydive Kauai staff accept who he is and they treated him just like the other guy. As a single mom and a caregiver, I worried. about him. but instructors insured me he is in good hand. The instructor said my son was the best diving partner he had. I know it's a complement, but I felt really happy. because, my son did something with other people. Not many people open heartedly accept my son. but The staff of skydive of Kauai just did. I just finished skydiving for the first time today and I have nothing but great things to say about this place. From the time I pulled up everything went so smooth. Obviously your are a tad nervous before you jump out of a plane for the first time, but the entire staff was so friendly and calm that it really just made my experience that much better. I decided to get the photo and video package and I'm SO glad I did it. Wayne was super professional and friendly and really explained everything I needed to know in a simple and confident way. My two daughters and I were vacationing in Kauai a few weeks ago...and we wanted an adventure. Boy, did we get it! The entire skydiving experience was fantastic! A+ Friendly customer service from check-in with Josh, pilot Walt, and our instructors, Owen and Rolf. The instructors were great - reassuring, competent and enthusiastic. Owen was my partner, and he was terrific. My nerves just dissolved and I enjoyed the entire experience -- plane ride, free fall, and drifting down once parachute opened to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Brian, Benjamin and Skittles were all great. We had a couple of hours delay due to cloud coverage and wind conditions. We appreciated their professionalism and concern for our safety. So we used that time and went to Salt Pond Beach next door which was beautiful. Glad we brought our swim suits. When it was our turn to dive it was truly amazing seeing the island from such great heights. I asked for spins and Brian didn't disappoint! Epic experience. My 18 year old loved it! I felt unsafe and will not return. Somehow my experience and review was removed so I am reposting. Funny how businesses can attempt to remove an honest review. In my opinion I did not feel safe when I had my experience at this business. The plane had tape in it and I was happier when we made our exit and were out of it. I also felt very pressured by one of staff in the office to buy pictures, he was practically harassing me to get them. All in all not something I would pay that much to do again. read more

You will never regret skydiving with this crew!!! They are 100% professional and fun. You will feel comfortable from the start to the finish. It is scary for us first timers but these guys are just so good at what they do it minimizes the discomfort factor. They have done literally thousands of jumps so that helps a lot with trust. It was totally raining on the north side of the Island but absolutely beautiful for jumping. Don't give up on your bucket list!!! read more

Our family of 5 went skydiving this morning at Skydive Kauai. It was the first time skydiving for all of us and we are all in agreement that it was the best thing ever!! Our instructors were Ian and Jack and we felt so safe and peaceful throughout the whole experience. I loved it so much I did a second jump with them and it was even better than the first time. Since there were an odd number of us, she gave us her single kayak so I was able to use that on the way out and then switched with my brother on the way back. It was really nice to basically have that private tour! Unfortunately because of the rain and rising waters, we weren't able to do the hike & waterfall portion of the trip but the kayaking along the river was really nice and enjoyable. Mikayla did take us out of the kayaks and show us some of the surrounding area and shared with us information about the different plants. It was fun! We only got a downpour on the way back for the marina for about 10min but that was part of the experience! We didn't eat breakfast before and do actually the length of time worked well for us. We left around 7:30am ish and made it back around 9;30am. The company refunded us 50% since weather made the hike portion impossible. Totally recommend bringing food though if you do the full thing:) and bring shoes good for hiking. Mikayla was friendly and helped get my two siblings (who hadn't kayaked before) adjusted and paddling in a straight line rather than zigzagging across. She was a great guide and would definitely recommend her! We learned a lot. And she gave us more recommendations around the island for the rest of our trip.

Highly reccomend wearing shorts & water shoes as you will walk through river crossings and mud, actual mud, so don't ruin your hiking shoes. The guide also offered sticks for walking so definitely grab one as it will help you walk steadily, water bags for your stuff, waters, chips, and lunch once you are at the waterfall. The views after the kayaking and hiking part were absolutely breathtaking! Definitely a must do. We had Keke guide us and she was amazing!!! Very helpful but also funny and motivated us all. She is a great guide and I hope her manager sees this review.

The only thing I can say about taking the hike is to have closed toe water shoes with good soles that have tread. I wore water sandals and it was not the right shoe for the hike. Lots of deep slippery mud. I would take the tour again if I return to Kauai.
