Any trip to Ohio would be incomplete without at least one visit to Skyline Chili. Skyline Chili is an Ohio institution and unless you are from Ohio (or have tried this iconic restaurant), their signature dish might seem a bit strange to the average person. Skyline Chili is known for spaghetti topped with chili. Now, before you judge, let me get to where it gets real good. This is beyond just spaghetti and chili. They also top this winning combination with a mountain of shredded cheddar cheese that is so unnaturally yellow that makes you wonder if this cheese was exposed to nuclear radiation. They have a few versions. Either three way, which is spaghetti, chili and cheese. The four way is spaghetti, chili, cheese and either diced onions or beans. Finally, a five way has the spaghetti, chili, cheese, onions and beans. I myself usually go with the four way (opting for the diced onions). In addition to the spaghetti topped with chili and cheese, Skyline Chili also has hot dogs with chili and cheese, chili cheese fries, bowls of chili and more. Cincinatti chili might be a bit different than what you may be used to. For starters, Cincinnati chili includes cinnamon in their recipe. Once again, if you are unfamiliar, don't let this scare you off. I promise you this really works, especially when served over spaghetti and topped with a copious amount of strangely bright cheese. Service is friendly and with a smile and the food is truly iconic. When many think of food, Skyline Chili is the definitive restaurant that comes to mind. As I said, at least for me, no trip to Ohio would be complete without a visit to Skyline Chili. I definitely recommend this long running business, you will be a fan. Chelsea, the general manager of this store, is the most combative and unprofessional person I've ever encountered. They gave us coneys without mustard instead of no onion. Called to just let them know. Instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding (or their mistake), she yelled at my repeatedly yelled husband that she confirmed it was NO MUSTARD. When I told her a better approach might be to stay calm and not scream at customers who are just trying to give feedback to a franchise, she hung up. I was in Cincinnati for a football game, and was told had to try Skyline for Chili, something Cincinnati is known for. Went inside, very clean, friendly host, nice looking restaurant equipment, everything is cooked on a line in front of you. You have a choice with the chili of toppings, I got everything which was on a bed of spaghetti, onions, beans and of course fresh ground cheddar. Omg am I hooked. This was fantastic. I also got a coney dog which is a mini hot dog with chili and cheese on it, I ate it so fast that I forgot to take a picture! If your in town or live in the area, go to Skyline! read more

Can it be #SkylineTime every day?! Oh man I LOVE Skyline! I was raised on it and it always hits the spot! I live in Columbus but have half my family in Cincinnati so I go down every now and then to visit. We have Skylines here in Cbus, but for some reason, I wanted to hit up Skyline on my list of things to do on my most recent trip to Cincy. I told my grandparents I refused to leave until we went to both Skyline and Graeter's (I actually go to Graeter's once a week here in Cbus, but I wanted that Cincy special feel!). My grandpa joked "If we want to get rid of Chelsea, I guess we need to take her to Skyline and Graeter's." lol! They have humored me for 31 years and I'm happy to report they don't seem to want to stop any time soon! My grandma picked this Skyline on Kemper Road since it was closest to her house in Fairfield. It didn't really matter to me because I have never met a Skyline I didn't like. We got there as a party of 6 on a Sunday around 5pm. The place was virtually empty. So odd--who else wouldn't want Skyline on a Sunday evening?! We were seated right away in a booth and our waitress was super nice! She took our order quickly. As we started to converse, we were soon blown away when our food was there in what felt like 90 seconds! I mean I know Skylines tend to be faster but DAMN! Even my grandpa kept saying how great of a waitress she was. It could not have been more smooth and seamless! As you can imagine, my three way was perfect. I absolutely love 3 ways from Skyline. I usually get 1-2 coneys as well but I knew I'd want to overindulge at Graeter's, so I held off from the coney. My entire family really enjoyed the meal and there were lots of clean plates! Every table was filthy. Took forever you get a server. When the food came it was wrong. Server never came back so I walked it back. The cook mumbled "oh no" under her breath. Took another 15 minutes to get it back. Staff was very unprofessional. No refills, very disappointing. read more

Being a big fan of Skyline, this location makes me a little sad. The staff is friendly....the restaurant gets a little dirty, but (once they finally pay attention to it) they clean up well. My biggest complaint with this location is ordering through the drive-thru. I've gone through here...perhaps at least 10-15 times in the last 3 years...& they have yet to ever get an order completely right. I've been given wrong food items, had items missing....& depending on the day, the staff can be a little rude. read more

I have not preferred this location and usually drive to the one a few miles west. The chili has been very runny and bland quite a few times. The staff is pleasant, though. This is a franchise location which in my experience leads to less quality control than corporate locations. read more

I went in yesterday on 5/2/14 at 3:20 i walked in and heather a server was washing a table and said I will be with you in just a moment I was fine with that. She comes over to me and I noticed she had gloves on while washing tables which is fine, she takes my order and money with the same gloves she was cleaning with and goes and makes my fries without changing gloves and then makes the rest of my food with the same gloves on she had on while washing the tables and taking my money! I am so freaking disgusted with that place I will never be back! I have a call into corp now to see what they say because come to find out she was a manager! I think you should know better! read more
