One of my favorite locations to hit a Skyline. I normally only drive-thru this location but occassionaly eat inside. They come over immediatly and you get your food within 3 mins of sitting down. Fast service and always good food. The inside here is never really busy which I enjoy. Some Skylines have super soupy chili or overly thick and this location does a great job of somewhere in the middle. Always a good time having Skyline! read more

On a long weekend trip to Cincinnati, I am embarrassed/proud to say that we ate at Skyline 4 times - this location twice. On the first, I went with a regular 5 way, and the second was a 4 way - onion - large - with a cheese coney. The dish was a little better the second day, just because of cheese proportion, but both delicious. Servers were fantastic both times - always going above and beyond with friendly and helpful! (big parties). One note - it was my son's birthday the first day and they really made it special for him! Can't praise the manager and staff enough. I'm sure we will be back. Absolutely loved the food and service everything was delicious, and the restaurant was spotless and welcoming.

Went here about 3 in the afternoon, only one customer was there. I sat down started looking at the menu, and four guys came in and sat down. The waitress went and took their drink order, then she took them their drinks and got their orders. Then a couple came in. The waitress went to them and took their drink order. While she was doing that the four guys food was ready. They came in after me and were getting their food and no one had taken even my drink order. Service was drive thru which was slow. The food was okay but the Cincinnati chili is not my jam. I lived in Texas a while and used to travel through Oklahoma quite a bit for years. Though different the chili I'm used to is mostly made of ground chili sauce with meat and cumin plus some onion maybe tomato. Interesting staple of Cincinnati food scene. it is nothing special or mind blowing. But if you are in Cincinnati, and you want to try some junk food, that it is sort of famous for, then definitely head to your nearest Skyline Chili, and try one of their items. I tried the Coney with cheese. It was OK. The hotdog was a standard dog, absolutely nothing special. And the chili was just your regular run of the mill chili, also nothing particularly special. The Coney dog with cheese tasted a little too salty for me but that's probably because I had mustard on it. The good part is that for a little over five dollars you can have two chili dogs and be full for a few hours. So give it a try if you are in the mood for chili dogs and are in Cincinnati. read more

Been to so many Skyline restaurants that there is no point in mentioning. However the E Walnut Hills location is one of my favorites. Clean, fast, friendly service. Family owned and operated daily! Small things are a plus for me. They are the few locations that serve their famous hot sauce in a plastic squirt container. Love,love, love. Arrived in Cincinnati for a one-night stay and was extremely hungry after a long day of driving. No sooner had I told my friend (a Cincinnati native) that I'd never heard of Skyline, we were in the car and on the way to the nearest location. Well, we had an absolute feast! Not sure what was even ordered, just knew that it tasted good, and both my friend and the waitress gave me ample instruction and tips on the best way to chow down. Only downside was that I felt slightly nauseous afterward, probably because of the sheer quantity of food and cheese, but I'd definitely go again if given the chance. read more

I went through the drive thur in the pouring rain. Ordered two number 3s, veggie cheese sandwiches with drinks. The staff was fast and efficient. The order was correct and it looked fresh. Very fast, as Skyline usually is. Cincinnati natives know what to expect. The servers here range from friendly to apathetic, depending on the day. The decor inside is a bit dated and could use a little TLC, but is okay. I've eaten here several times, and have never had a bad experience (other than sitting next to some overtly racist white customers once). The surroundings might make you think that this location is sketchy: it isn't. The service is always attentive, friendly and prompt. On the last visit the parking lot and dining area were clean, and the food arrived quickly. Some of the other options on East McMillan (i.e. Taco Casa) will give you a bad impression of East Walnut Hills' fast food offerings. There's no way around it: the food desert is real and it's bleak (but little by little it's changing). For now, Skyline is certainly the best option in the area that we have for a quick bite. read more

I've waited so long to try Cincinnati Chili, and was brought in to this Skyline for lunch. It's close to work, so I wasn't sure if chili for lunch was a good idea, but I rarely play it safe. I had the 5 Way, loaded with everything, and onions. Okay, so growing up in Texas, where chili is the 'other' Gold, this was pretty good stuff. The spaghetti wasn't mushy, and held up really well with the meaty, cheesy chili. I had to laugh at the amount of cheese sitting on top of my chili, and noodles, think nice orange wig of cheese. My fellow eating companions slid their food over so I could divvy up the cheese fairly. A great Cincinnati tradition, much like chowdah to New England, cheesesteak to Philly, or brisket to Texas. This is probably the silliest I have felt writing a Yelp review to date, but I felt like this Skyline deserved it. When it comes to ordering Skyline, I'm very particular about the way my food arrives either dining in or to-go. I know it's always a lot harder to make sure all of the small requests are met when it's a drive thru order. First, (this is going to sound so wrong for out-of-towners) I always ask for my 3-way extra juicy, because I hate when there isn't a good chili to noodle ratio. Almost always when I ask for a 3-way to-go (extra juicy), it's still super dry. This Skyline has been the ONLY establishment to actually listen and make it the way I asked! They also included the extra side of cheese, crackers and hot sauce, which I get so aggravated if they forget. I also get annoyed if a Skyline accidentally adds onions (I ask for no onions) to my chili cheese sandwich, which this Skyline did not do. I kind of sound like the worst right now... anyways! I went through the drive thru during peak lunch hours and they had very speedy service! I definitely have to give these guys two thumbs up. read more

This Skyline is half a mile from my house, so it's become my go-to when I'm in the mood for Skyline. The interior looks recently remodeled and is full of comfy booths and tables, with a few large tables for bigger parties. A big-screen TV is in the corner, which I appreciate as I often go in alone. It took a while for Cincinnati chili to grow on me, but grow on me it has. I see a great many visits to the Walnut Hills Skyline in my future. Although the neighborhood for this skyline is a little sketchy, it's a solid skyline, and my co-workers and I go here and get take-out from here often enough that my good impressions aren't just a one-time thing. The family that owned this location is very nice and works hard. Staff is friendly and attentive. If you've never had Cincinnati style chili before, you're in for an experience. It's thinner and darker than what I was used to, having grown up in St. Louis (where Texas style chili is prevalent). I like the "cheese conie" (known as a chili-dog in other parts of the country) with no mustard and no onions. My wife loves the "3-way", which is chili and cheese on a bed of spaghetti. This is a brand new building, they moved from next door, which is now a Taco Casa. It is SO much easier to get in and out of, especially the drive-through, and there is much better parking. I still prefer the Ludlow Skyline, or the Oakley (for it's Coke), but this is the most convenient for us. read more

First taste was a sample and I quickly knew I wanted to try a menu item. Skyline ChiIi was recommended by a friend who is native to Cincinnati, said "it's a must try". So, I'm in Cinci on businesswith and met by an Ohioan at the airport right around lunch time. I suggested Skyline and he was happy to bring us. After our samples, the waitress was explaining the menu to us neophites and a gentleman called her away, she came back and said "that was the president of our company and he'd like to buy you a small 3-way and a Coney". For native Cincinnatians, there are "good" Skylines and "bad" Skylines. For example, the Skyline Chili near my house is a "bad" Skyline, so I've only been there once and will never go back there. The owner of this restaurant refused to remake my coney's that I was not satisfied with (had hair on them) or give me my money back. I left without my food or a refund. The owner then called to resolve the issue, and talked to me like I was a child. I don't know what is wrong with his spirit, but he definitely has evil in him. I'm a Cincinnati boy...I love Skyline. I went to this particular location because it is close to work. I went through the drive thru for this visit. It was by far the longest that I have waited to get some lunch. When I finally did get to the window there was a manager-type guy there and also another guy that was taking the orders (I think) and then there was another guy that was just standing there...not really sure what he was doing. You would think that when the drive thru is moving that slow it would be "all hands on deck". At least that's how it was when I worked in the restaurant business. The portions here are comical compared to other Skyline establishments. When I asked management (Zack A.) for a more adequate portion (like the portion at the Clifton location and others) I was met with a horrible attitude and bad customer service. My noodles were dry and there was no surrounding sauce. The normal portion is comparable to a "3 way with light sauce". He told me that they measure their portions out and that is the final portion. When I inquired about the portion measurement he didn't have an answer and proceeded to tell me he doesn't care what other Skyline's do. I give this place 3 thumbs down for the lack of proficient management, customer service and the portions. read more

Food was good, service was terrible. We get the same orders every single time we go and at this particular Skyline they decided to tell us that "we can't put crackers inside the chillito." Weird, because I get it every week when I come. Asked to speak to a manager and it was clearly the AGM because they were very unprofessional and couldn't care less. And only continued to basically tell us they don't fulfill customers requests. For something as simple as adding some crackers. There's another Skyline within two miles from this location and I definitely won't be returning to this one any longer. read more
