Getting my Cincinnati chili fix this weekend! 6 way chili is chili, spaghetti, beans, onions, chopped garlic, shredded cheese & crackers. DELICIOUS

Restaurant was very clean. Service was amazing! Food was good. Went for Cincinnati Chili Week and tried several of the specials. Love the cheese curds.

Better then Skyline only because they offer a variety of other dishes. Atmosphere is similar, small quaint diner that reminds me of Dennys. Chili reminded of Skyline, not better and not worse. I had a Gyro wrap that was delicious I would definitely get it again. Pricing was good and service was quick. Very happy visit.

10/10 service. Stephanie Glisson did a phenomenal job on making my food. She got everything exactly right and it was absolutely delicious. She had amazing service and even brought me waffle fries to my table.

Consistently good food and service for 20+ years. The history of old Newport and one of the surviving businesses that outlasted the "Sin City" era. Great nostalgia, and we like it better than the two more popular chili chains. I often get the DIXIE DELIGHT a mixed salad plate with a mix of choices of egg, ham, chicken, or tuna salad with fresh fruit. The chili and dogs are great (Tiki usually gets an Allie-gator dog with pickles). Not unusual for us to also get a gyro platter or soup bowl. We both enjoy their own brand of hot sauce, and when available, buy some for home. History says this will likely outlast everything on Monmouth.

Ordered through Door Dash. Pretty good. Order was prepared and ready fairly quickly.

Not bad at all! I wasn't in the mood for chili or any combination thereof, so I was pleasantly surprised that they had options at this drive-thru and eat-in site. I chose the turkey sandwich on wheat bread, accompanied by lettuce, tomato and mustard/mayo. Very impressive sandwich with two pickle spears and a bag of Husman's potato chips. The service wasn't speedy by any means, but hey, it was 10:45 a.m. and I was asking for lunch. Took my debit card and the employee at the window was very patient, in fact, super sweet as I added an unsweetened tea at the window! The sandwich was great...and I'll be back to try the chili!

    so good.

Can you be in love with a restaurant? Because I definitely have feelings for This one! Some may hold a love for skyline or goldstar or some other Cincinnati chili parlor, but me, my heart is in dixie...Dixie Chili that is. The best version of chili in Cincinnati is across the river in Kentucky. They have several locations and all are quite lovely, but my favorite is the Covington location. First of all, before we get to the food, the place is spotless, and the staff is friendly. Giant windows allow the retro inspired diner space to be flooded with natural light and a choice of tables or booths (I always opt for a booth) allow you plenty of space to dine solo or in a group. Two tvs mark one wall, usually on a news or sports channel, depending on whats going on, and a giant juke box is available for your listening pleasure. The menu includes the usual chili parlor suspects, coneys, 3-ways, etc. Dixie Chili also offers gyros, salads, deli meat sandwiches, chicken tenders, soups and waffle fries (also the usuals at some other non chain parlors, but not available at Skyline ) This particular location is on my way home from work, about a 2 mile walk, and it often serves as my reward. The salads they offer are my favorite. Nothing fancy, no frilly lettuces or trendy veggies, just good, fresh ingredients. I order the garden salad and add gyro meat and feta cheese (yes, as my husband always points out, I could just order a greek salad, but the garden salad includes purple cabbage & carrots, while the greek offers neither of those things, including instead, banana peppers and olives), with the creamy greek dressing. Divine. Another aspect that makes my heart happy are their beverage choices, coke products (including FOUNTAIN CHERRY COKE!), really good iced tea and also a small beer selection. This location also offers a drive through...winning! Please, for your own sake, give Dixie Chili a try!!

This amount of cheese is a joke for a nearly $8 4-way.

Their service makes you quickly feel right at home, and that continues throughout the meal. There were five of us, so we ordered several dishes to share. The hummus was fresh, the falafel was crispy on the outside and tasty, the lamb was tender, and the lahmacun ('Turkish pizza' for those that haven't tried this) was outstanding. The Lahmacun reminded me of my visit to a Turkish restaurant in Kazakhstan many years ago -- it was that good. My adult kids also had the salmon and a chicken sauté and loved both... I almost lost a finger getting a nibble. The drinks and desserts were also spot on. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and has seating to accommodate larger groups, so bring your friends and family and share. One recommendation for the Cafe -- we wish the lighting were a bit dimmer. Seemed a little bright in the main dining area. Other than that, thanks for a great night.

The salmon wasn't as "well done" as I would have preferred but still very good. The cooked veggies were seasoned very well too. It's a great date night spot or for a girls night. Don't get me wrong, there are so many great dishes here! Absolutely recommend one of there all beef hotdogs in almost any form. Regardless, I door dash from here every week to be a bit more on the healthy side and will argue that the house made greek dressing is a must try on any salad you do. They always give plenty of portions, the staff is always accommodating, and it's a classic Chicago meets Cincinnati themed restaurant. Plenty of places to seat or good enough to order out!

Sweet Home, Chicago!…read more Moving out of Chicago was never in the cards for me. Many years ago, when I needed to relocate for work, I knew absolutely nothing about Cincinnati. I grew to like Cincy very quickly. Not so much for the food (pizza and strange stuff they called "chili") but I all around felt like I was at home. I was also surprised that I never really found myself all that homesick either. I mean, I could always call my friends and family.....but there was one thing...... I can't call a Hot Dog or a Pizza! Now if I want good Pizza, I make it myself (Sorry, Cincy. Your Pizza game sucks.). But if I want to get a couple of good Chicago Style Hot Dogs, or other "Beef Joint" menu items, Chicago Gyros and Dogs brings a little home to me here in Cincy. Focusing on the dogs and fries, they've got it down. Whenever I get that urge, I drive the 25 - 30 minutes South to get those Vienna Beef hot dogs, trimmed perfectly with all the right condiments. I've had the Italian Beef once before and I'd have to give that another run. It wasn't my favorite, but maybe worth a second try. I do feel like I'm at a real Chicago "Beef Joint", back home. With the exception of one thing, but I completely understand it - Not a whole lot of Chicago Sports Team representation. I know you're in Cincy, but come on..... it's Chicago Gyros and Dogs! Would I go back? Yeah I would. As often as possible. In fact, I'm glad it's as far away as it is, otherwise I'd be there too much. I grew up at my Grandfathers diner/donut shop that was located on the Wrigley Field grounds, right in front of the stadium. So, with that, Vienna Beef dogs, Polish and beef were all we knew. Any reputable "Beef Joint" had that unmistakable yellow Vienna Beef sign in the window. Growing up in Chicago, your favorite pizza place or beef joint were the ones closest to your house. There are literally hundreds of each in all of Chicagoland. Maybe thousands. They all might have their own slight nuance or "thing", but the thing they all have in common is that they're delicious. Way to bring it to Cincy!

The baked beans were something totally else. I feel the entire business model in that space is very confusing. The drinks from the bar were crafted well and presented nicely. We ordered quite a bit of food to try off the menu. The pork and fish skewers were flavorful! I do wish the pork was cooked a bit longer to give it a crispy outside. The Farrotto had a nice crunch with each taste and was a little cheesy. The pappardelle with rabbit was very good as well, it had a rich flavor. The trout was a bit fishy for my liking. The short ribs were cooked very well, but I was not a huge fan of the sauce it came with. The lamb ribs had a nice flavor, but I thought was a little overcooked.
