We really enjoyed our visit to Haleakala Skyline. There were four of us and the only ones signed up for our time slot, so we got somewhat of a VIP treatment. Ray and Noah were our guides. Both were great and provided an awesome experience. They provided us a lot of information and knowledge about the local ecosystem and wildlife, and also provided some local insights on food and Hawaiian culture. The ziplines were awesome and there were some great views as well. Highly recommend this experience.

Such a great experience! Manny and Kaleb were very welcoming and took the time to get to know each of us on the tour. Lots of laughs and great directions and encouragement at each zip line. It was obvious that they Loved what they do. Highly recommend! The van ride was a bit rough but added to the adventure.

What a great time! Exceed my expectations. Our guides Zack and Noah were fabulous. They kept us safe and entertained the entire morning. I would compare Zack to a guide on the jungle cruise at Disneyland.

Driver/guide William was awesome. Very informative and great sense of humor. Bill put us in great position for the sunrise over the crater. He set up several cameras for time lapse videos that we all airdropped. The breakfast was superb and its location was very cool.

I love Skyline. The staff is so knowledgeable and professional about safety. I've visited Skyline zipline multiple times and will always support them when I can. They provide excellent service and their moto "do good, have fun" has been engraved in my mind. Their conservation efforts are inspiring. They care about the aina and respect it.

    Zipline Fun!

Amazing experience with Zack and Caleb at Zipline Hawaii! Zack and Caleb were absolutely wonderful, funny, upbeat, and full of great energy that made the whole adventure so much fun. At the same time, they were very professional, making sure everyone felt completely safe and comfortable throughout the experience. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests. It was the perfect mix of laughter, excitement, and safety. Highly recommend this zipline tour and especially these two guides!

Ray and Lindy are amazing tour guides ! We had so much fun with them. I'm terrified of heights and they really helped calm the nerves . The zip lines are thrilling and so safe. The guides were truly passionate about what they do in their conservation efforts . Not only do they run the zipline tours but when they aren't doing that , they are out on the grounds maintaining and beautifying the area. The tour was informative and we all laughed a lot! I highly recommend this tour to visitors and locals alike ! Skyline is AWESOME!!

Trevor was fantastic- it was an early morning but so worth it! So glad they offered coats, we were not prepared for the cold weather at that elevation. Highly recommend! We also loved the quick breakfast at the Plantation House.

When: Sat. May 28th, Party of 2 Adults. Driver/Guide: Bill Tour: Classic Haleakala Sunrise Tour As a former Kamaaina or Hawaii resident, my wife and I have visited Haleakala many times. We decided on taking this tour because we did not want to drive up and down Haleakala. It was a great choice that we made. Bill explained and taught us facts that as 50+ years Hawaii Residents we weren't aware of. Bill was humorous and had a genuine heart for the land and ecology. When he took us to the top, he brought us to a spot that shielded us from the winds while we waited 45 minutes for the Sunrise...Absolutely wonderful... Without hesitation, my wife and I highly recommend this Sunrise tour from Skyline. Great for 1st time visitors or Kamaaina's...

We booked a tour for a family of four. Our guides were Ray and Vince and they were awesome. Very good with the knowledge or our trees and birds educating people who hasn't grown up here fortunately I have and so good to hear that this is being done! Thanks guys!

Our guides were the best. They knew what they were doing the entire time and really made this zipline so enjoyable. If you are ever in Maui don't miss booking this fun afternoon (or morning) activity. I thought the price was worth it, in fact it was a great value. You want to make sure Val is one of your guides, and Alec too. They will take good care of you Kevin --. Review written July 2 2024

We also had the farm-to-table brunch, and the food was absolutely incredible fresh, delicious, and one of the highlights of the tour. I took my parents for their 44th Anniversary and we all love outdoorsy activities so I knew we'd all enjoy this! We were asked to arrive at 10:30 am for the tour and it lasted until 1-1:30 pm. Arrive with good walking shoes, SPF, light sweater and hat (it can get either a little chilly or hot from the direct sunlight), and well hydrated if possible. We were greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable tourguide, Kate from Maryland! She shared with us so many facts about the locally grown produce from herbs, vegetables, fruits, to the friendly worms, to compost and facts about the Farm and the hardworking staff! It was interactive because we got to sniff the herbs, taste the locally grown lettuce, carry a chicken (as seen in the photo with my mom), and even pick the Cherry coffee! After the 2 hour tour, the last hour takes you back to this beautiful seating area in a garden like setting for your 4 course lunch! Each course, the chef comes out and shares details of each course. First course was a Medley of Greens grown on the farm with Tangerine vinaigrette. It was a generous portion for our party of 3 and tried to eat it throughout. There was spiraled carrots and radish with julienned snap peas. Second course was Pan Seared Ono (their proteins are all locally sourced) with Mamaki Tea and Lemongrass Rice with Bok Choy, Collared Greens and Cabbage. Third course was my favorite! I'm usually a big fan of fish but the chicken was so savory and that rub was delish! It was an Organic, Cage Free Chicken with Coffee Cherry Citrus rub with Caramelized Coffee Honey Hash of Carrots, Parsnips, Rutabaga and Celery Root. The spread was a Turmeric and Parsnip puree. Last course of dessert was the O'o Freshly Brewed Coffee with Milk and Simple Syrup with a Dessert Platter of Fresh sliced Pineapple, Tangerine and Apple with Homemade Chocolate Truffles. The meal left us full and nourished! What a wonderful anniversary gift to give my parents. We truly enjoyed it and even made some new friends, both local and visiting.

It was an honor to see how this small farm is maintaining the heritage and history after the large corporations have abandoned the islands. The pineapple they grow is absolutely delicious and I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about it. Our tour guide was Brian, and he was extremely funny and engaging throughout. We took a short ride from the general store, which is where you check in, up to the farm to see the various stages of growth. We learned how the pineapples are harvested and I have a newfound respect for the amount of work it takes to grow a single pineapple. The highlight for me was learning how to properly cut a pineapple, which I thought would be no easy feat, but once you know how to do it, it is extremely simple. Sampling the pineapple out in the Maui sunshine was the cherry on top. I highly recommend coming to take this tour and if not, at least stopping by the store to purchase some fresh pineapple or other pineapple related products.

Two days before our tour, half our group had to fly to Oahu for emergency care. I called the farm right away. The phone rang and rang, with no voicemail option. I called over and over again on the day of the tour and still got nothing. When I finally explained things to the manager/owner in person, the response was ice cold. They showed no sympathy and offered no refund, credit or reschedule for 7 tickets we paid for and never used. All we got were excuses: "You should have called 24 hours in advance." We did. You didn't pick up. "We're having phone problems." So your phone problem is somehow our fault? "You should have messaged us on Instagram." Seriously? In a family emergency, nobody's first thought is to DM a goat farm. It somehow got worse. My 3-year-old dropped the truffle they hand out at the end of the tour, right in front of our guide. The guide asked what happened, I told her, and she just stared at me in silence. When I asked if my daughter could have another one, she hesitated and said, "We're not supposed to." Keep in mind this farm was holding onto money for 7 tickets we never used, and it still wouldn't spare a toddler one truffle. Another staff member finally stepped in and gave her one, which proves it was never a rule. It was just penny-pinching. Then there was the cheese. We bought 4 cheese flights and asked to take 2 home. One of the to-go boxes was so carelessly packed it looked like someone gave up halfway (photo attached). The cheese tastes good. Too bad the people selling it don't care about their customers. We had planned to place a large online cheese order. Not anymore. We won't be back, and I'll make a point of telling anyone heading to Maui to spend their time and money somewhere that treats families like people instead of transactions.

I also want to apologize for revising this review twice; my first attempt was rushed and full of misspellings, and the second was a quick fix of those errors. However, after being home and having the time to relax and reflect, I realized there were details gnawing at my soul that I needed to share. While I could have justified the $250 price tag if the experience had met my expectations of what was included, I simply cannot justify it for the experience we actually had. I am left with a soured, bitter aftertaste in my heart for an experience that I wanted with my family. It is hard for me to give a five-star rating just because someone "tried"; I believe a top-tier rating must be earned through the experience one had, and Jan lacked in presentation, friendliness, and overall value. For our party of four, we paid $1,000, and in hindsight, we could have had a significantly better experience by using our own rental car and buying a high-quality telescope for half the cost. Don't get me wrong, the views were amazing, but Jan expected the National Park (which she did not create) to carry the entire value of the tour. There was no historical context shared about the land; she simply relied on the scenery to do the work. The lack of consideration for her guests was most apparent in how she rushed us. Both of my parents have medical limitations--my mother is a brain surgery survivor and my stepfather was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's. Both were medically cleared by their doctors for this visit, so while their conditions were not life-threatening, they naturally move at a slower pace, or what some would refer to as "Hawaii time." At the stop at the top of the mountain, Jan initially told us we would have an hour to look around, then suddenly changed it to 15 minutes. This was incredibly insensitive; 15 minutes is a rush for someone physically fit, let alone for people managing mobility issues. The actual stargazing was equally frustrating and felt hypocritical. Jan would complain if someone accidentally turned on a phone screen, claiming it affected her dilated pupils, yet she had no problem using a high-powered laser pointer against rocks instead of the sky, refracting the light directly into our eyes. Furthermore, none of us got long at the telescope because she insisted on refocusing it after every two people, all while a personal friend of hers joined for free and took up our paid telescope time. To put the lack of value in perspective, we recently paid $165 for a snorkeling tour on a catamaran that included a crew of five, two full meals, and equipment. Here, we had to bring our own snacks and water, and Jan even requested to use our personal National Park passes to get the group through the gate. Between the conspiracy theories playing loudly on the radio, her robotic and demanding attitude, and the underwhelming equipment, we felt massively overcharged. You can find better value elsewhere or by driving yourself at your own pace.

From start to finish, everything was well organized and comfortable. We traveled in a tall Mercedes Sprinter van, which made the drive much more enjoyable with less motion sickness than expected. Janet provided warm jackets and pants, which were greatly appreciated since temperatures at the summit can drop into the 60s and feel much cooler with the wind. She really thought of everything. We toured the summit area of Haleakalā, enjoyed snacks and dinner while watching a spectacular sunset, and then transitioned into an incredible night of stargazing. The telescope views were stunning--far more detailed than I expected. We were able to see so much, and the images through the telescope were truly unforgettable. Janet is exceptionally knowledgeable and did a fantastic job explaining astronomy, the night sky, and Hawaiian history and culture. She used a laser pointer to guide us through the constellations, making it easy to follow along and understand what we were seeing. No question seemed too small, and her enthusiasm was contagious. Most importantly, the entire experience was fun, respectful, relaxed, and full of good vibes. Janet clearly loves what she does, and it shows. If you're considering a Haleakalā stargazing tour, I highly recommend booking with Janet. It was an incredible experience that we'll remember for years to come. She provides you with a PowerPoint presentation at the end and pictures highlighting the stars! Above and beyond! You can't see the objects you will see without her high powered telescope!
