    Post-trip on Makena Beach
    Richard P.

I love to go kayaking when I travel and Kelli's Kayak Tours gave me the perfect opportunity to do so. We met in Makena early (7am) with our guide Greg, who promptly briefed us on safety, launching and returning in the surf, and where we were headed out to, what we can expect, etc. it was a gorgeous morning as we paddled out to 2 spots for some snorkeling, which was awesome. I saw and swam next to sea turtles at both spots, including a turtle coming up for air right next to me! Just remember to take some Dramamine or ginger candy, as the current during snorkeling and while kayaking can be a little up and down. Energy bars and soft drinks are provided, but I thought I signed up for a tour that included lunch, but that was not the case. Overall a fun, active morning excursion I would highly recommend.

Our kayak tour and snorkel experience was fantastic. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the "turtle town" (there are several turtle towns, we learned) that we snorkeled. He was also a source of good information about Maui and nearby islands. Of our three snorkel trips we joined this week, Kelii was the best.

Our family went on the 2.5 hour kayak / snorkel tour , our guide tyler was very informative and had lots to share about land and ocean. We travel to Maui all the time but this was by far the best tour we have done. We came within 10 feet of the newborn humpback calf and her mother! We followed them for about an hour just hanging in the ocean letting them swim around us. Tyler was very knowledgable about the ocean life and when it came time to snorkel showed us sea turtles and local fish. By far best kayak tour on Maui

This trip was amazing!!!! Tyler was fantastic, super cute and patient!!! We saw so many turtles and different species of fish. I would highly recommend this trip and guide to anyone! Aloha!

Definitely go to Kelii's when in Maui! Booked a kayak tour last week and our guide, Tyler, was amazing. When you first arrive he gives you a bag so you don't have to worry about your valuables getting wet while kayaking. We were all new to kayaking and snorkeling and he was so patient and kind to all of us. We all learned quickly because his clear instructions. For those that have motion sickness, Tyler carries a few cans of Ginger Ale with him and offers to take you back to shore if you're not feeling well. He's genuinely kind to everyone on tour. He took us to two different spots for snorkeling and they were both great. The water was warm and crystal clear. We saw so many different fish and a few turtles! At the end of the tour, Tyler offered to take photos of my mom and me with my phone and the photos came out great. He even threw in a few panoramic shots. Kelii's Kayak Tour is definitely a fun time! I enjoyed this a lot more than taking a snorkeling cruise. This is perfect for family/couple activities!

We really enjoyed our time on the water while in Maui!

He was knowledgeable about the entire pineapple-growing process. Not to mention made us laugh We learned so much about how pineapples are planted, grown, and harvested. It was fascinating to hear about the life cycle of a pineapple, the care that goes into growing them, and what makes Maui Gold pineapples so unique and sweet. Of course, the star of the show was the pineapple itself. It was hands down the sweetest, juiciest, and most delicious pineapple I've ever tasted. After trying one, it's hard to go back to grocery store pineapple! The gift shop was also wonderful, with lots of cute souvenirs, gifts, and pineapple-themed items to browse. If you're visiting Maui, I highly recommend adding the Maui Gold Pineapple Tour to your itinerary.

I recommend this tour. We booked it at the beginning of our trip in case it needed to be canceled…read moredue to weather, which would have given us time to reschedule. Thankfully, the weather cooperated! Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes. There's quite a bit of walking through the fields, and the ground can be uneven and dusty. My socks were covered in dirt afterward, so I definitely wouldn't recommend flip-flops. Small carton boxes of water (like school lunch sized milk cartons) were provided on the tour bus, which was appreciated, but I'd still recommend bringing your own water as well, especially if it's a warm day. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting information about pineapple farming. It's so labor intensive!! However, he spoke extremely fast, which made it difficult to follow at times. I wish he had slowed down a bit. During the tour, we sampled pineapples at different stages of ripeness, and at the end each group receives a boxed pineapple package to take home. Since there were two of us, we were given a pre-packaged box for two people. We assumed we'd be getting two pineapples similar to the ones we tasted during the tour, but when we opened the box back at our hotel, we found three very small pineapples instead. The box itself made it look like the fruit would be larger. We learned on the tour that pineapples do not continue ripening after they're harvested, so what you get is what you get in terms of sweetness. We kept 2 for ourselves and gifted the 3rd away. Unfortunately, the 2 we cut open were bland, barely sweet which was disappointing. A grocery store pineapple would've been sweeter I think. Idk if the one we gifted away was sweet or not. I hope it was b/c that'd be embarrassing considering it had the "Maui Gold" tag on the crown. One area that could use improvement is the guide's professionalism. At times, he shared stories about previous guests in a way that felt like he was making fun of questions they had asked. Hubby agreed. It left me wondering whether future tour groups would hear stories about us as well. He also shared a story about jokingly telling a guest or a group that he was gay, and then he was like, just kidding! While it may have been intended as humor, it didn't sit well with me. It felt unnecessary and in poor taste, especially considering there could have been LGBTQ+ guests on our tour. Overall, the tour was informative and enjoyable, and I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about pineapple farming. A slower-paced presentation and a more professional approach from the guide would have made the experience even better.

I took my parents for their 44th Anniversary and we all love outdoorsy activities so I knew we'd all enjoy this! We were asked to arrive at 10:30 am for the tour and it lasted until 1-1:30 pm. Arrive with good walking shoes, SPF, light sweater and hat (it can get either a little chilly or hot from the direct sunlight), and well hydrated if possible. We were greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable tourguide, Kate from Maryland! She shared with us so many facts about the locally grown produce from herbs, vegetables, fruits, to the friendly worms, to compost and facts about the Farm and the hardworking staff! It was interactive because we got to sniff the herbs, taste the locally grown lettuce, carry a chicken (as seen in the photo with my mom), and even pick the Cherry coffee! After the 2 hour tour, the last hour takes you back to this beautiful seating area in a garden like setting for your 4 course lunch! Each course, the chef comes out and shares details of each course. First course was a Medley of Greens grown on the farm with Tangerine vinaigrette. It was a generous portion for our party of 3 and tried to eat it throughout. There was spiraled carrots and radish with julienned snap peas. Second course was Pan Seared Ono (their proteins are all locally sourced) with Mamaki Tea and Lemongrass Rice with Bok Choy, Collared Greens and Cabbage. Third course was my favorite! I'm usually a big fan of fish but the chicken was so savory and that rub was delish! It was an Organic, Cage Free Chicken with Coffee Cherry Citrus rub with Caramelized Coffee Honey Hash of Carrots, Parsnips, Rutabaga and Celery Root. The spread was a Turmeric and Parsnip puree. Last course of dessert was the O'o Freshly Brewed Coffee with Milk and Simple Syrup with a Dessert Platter of Fresh sliced Pineapple, Tangerine and Apple with Homemade Chocolate Truffles. The Hala tree amazed me and so did the big red flower- torch ginger, which actually looks like a vibrant staff fit for a king. I would never have learnt about them in detail if not for this trip. All this besides the actual trip to the waterfalls, the encouragement he gave to the other group was astounding (I don't swim myself unfortunately, or the fun would have tripled for me). He supported, guided, advised, and made them have the time of their life with the diving and the swimming. Three cheers to the B.Rex. Hike Maui site itself had useful info for the walk and I brought the water shoes after reading about it on their site, it really worked great out there. Pick up was right on time and the directions were pretty clear, but u could have mentioned near Kahului Park and Ride, I mistook the 8 min drive for 8 min walk, and walked up from my hotel ! Hike Maui arranged for backpacks and that was very useful too. To just it throw it on our shoulders and walk freely. The little snacks were good after the walk. The best part was the passion fruit which was handed out as a parting gift. It was my first time to eat that fruit too. Note: The waterfalls are accessible privately with rental car too. You could explore the area in your own sweet time. But I did notice there were not many signs with specific directions inside the forest. And no labels on the plants. Most places no mobile signals either. That said, you could do it on your own. I cannot say enough about this trip. It is for all ages and a great little Maui to explore comfortably. In the past, I've had some challenges with motion sickness and had mentioned this to Dana, and upon arrival, Patrick had actually set up so that I could ride in the front seat if I was worried about the motion sickness issue.
