The first time I went to this office I didn't have any problems, but that's probably because I was distracted by Dr. Ned's chatting. On my follow-up visits I was more attentive to the details. First, on at least 2 visits, the x-ray machine was not cleaned before or after it was used on me. This is a huge no-no. Can we infection control and just plain gross?! Secondly, I think Dr. Ned gets distracted with all of his chatting because although he did my cleaning (rather than a dental hygienist or assistant) my exam did not include a flossing. I mean, if you're forgetting to floss your patient during a cleaning, what other details are you missing. I need to get other more complicated services performed, but I won't be going back to Skyline Smiles for the services. Sorry. read more

Not going to lie, I've been around. Seen a lot of dentists I mean! I switched over from another dental office (grrrr!) and I think I've found the one. The front office staff are friendly, professional and helpful. Dr. Ng and his staff were meticulous and just plain awesome. It's also nice that they acknowledge my time is as important as theirs and I've always been seen on time here. I had a late appointment one evening and Dr. Ng stayed past closing to fix a concern I had. Not once did I feel rushed. I've done a little bit of everything here from teeth cleaning to fillings to having retainers made. Overall I've been happy with the service I've gotten. read more

I dreaded finding a new dentist when I moved into the city a couple years ago so I put it off for as long as I could. I yelped to find someone in my area and I read all the reviews on yelp for skyline so I decided to try them. I knew I would need a deeper than normal cleaning and I was having pain in one of my teeth so I figured that I was going to have to have some work done on it. None of this made me happy but I knew I had to go. The office is very nice; flat screens with Netflix while you get your dental work done is the best! And they give you headphones so you can drown out the drilling sound that is so very annoying. I was able to catch up on OINTB so that made me happy. Funny thing is when I was finished I had about 15 minutes left of the last episode and Dr. Ned told me I could stay and hang out to finish the episode. I didn't cause I was completely over being at the dentist but it was a sweet gesture. I liked all of the staff that worked with me. The receptionist is a little high energy and she gave me a paper describing the work that I had to get done while I was sitting in the dental chair. I guess I was supposed to hold the paper in my lap for another hour until I was finished. That didn't make sense to me so I just put it on the floor next to me and by the time I was finished it was gone. Dr Ned is very personable and knowledgeable; he was able to diagnose the problem immediately and knew what he had to do to fix it. I had to get 3 shots to numb me for my filling and he was super patient and didn't start the work until I was completely numb. And he even went slow just to make sure I didn't feel anything. I appreciated that. My visit was a couple weeks ago and I no longer have pain in my tooth. I will be going back for my follow up in December. Keep in mind it's street parking and the meter police are out!!! I got a $50 parking ticket cause I was in there for 2 hrs 38 minutes and I only put 2 hours in the stupid meter!!! read more

I recently moved to Chicago and hadn't even started looking for a new dentist when my veneer chipped and I need it fixed ASAP. I was referred here and they were able to fit me in the next day for the quick fix, but also listened to how I want to work on my smile and we were able to put together a plan in the first visit. Dr. NG spent almost an hour with me and I greatly appreciate it. Having moved around a lot in my post-college years, I've ended up frequenting several different dentists over the past few years and must say that Skyline Smile is by far the best experience I have had. I will highlight a few of the things that I appreciated. Also, given that I went once during the week and once on the weekend, I had dental work done by both Dr. Neduvelil and Dr. Worth. 1. Billing: Almost every other dentist I have ever been to underestimates how much I will have to pay out of pocket - in this case, the receptionist told me I would pay nothing out of pocket and that was in fact what happened (cleaning and four fillings). 2. Staff demeanor: As other reviewers mentioned, it is a pleasant experience from the minute you enter until the minute you leave. The receptionists, technicians, assistants and doctors are all super friendly and super patient explaining everything to you. (I also had to reschedule my appointment three times and each time they were more pleasant than the previous despite me feeling bad for doing that multiple times). 3. Office Environment: Very clean and professional, it was still being finished up the first time I went (but nothing to complain of) and they were very apologetic and accommodating (just shows that they are committed to excellence and a good patient experience) 4. Dental work: Both dentists were great - totally painless procedures and explained (in detail) every step of the way - something that my previous dentists' were not as great at. In the middle of my procedure, Dr. Neduvelil literally asked me if I would like to see what a cavity looked like pre-filling (after he had opened it up) and took the time to take several picture of it for me and took the time to show it to me after I had finished my procedure - and this was on a weekend. I say that to illustrate how much care they give the patients, in addition to his sheer enthusiasm for dentistry. 5. Procedure Time: Despite him taking extra time to explain things pre and during procedure, taking a picture mid-process and showing me the pictures after the fillings, the three fillings were done before I could even imagine - while honestly being the most comfortable set of fillings I ever got. Also, something I really appreciated was that, after we did the fillings he put that paper to make sure my teeth were lined up well and kept insisting that I tell him if there was ANY discomfort. In previous dentist experiences they just do it once or twice and then tell you to be one your way - however, Dr Neduvelil literally kept asking me to "please let me know if it is not 100% comfortable" and went back and forth six times making them perfect (whereas most other dentists just say it will get to normal after being ground down over a few days). To add to all this, each chair has a TV attached with Netflix so you can sit back and enjoy some standup comedy or your favorite TV show while undergoing the procedures. The office is very nice and the dental rooms are modern and high tech. You can watch net flix while getting your teeth clean. I also really like the dental hygienists. The BEST experience ever! Ask for Dr. Ned when you book an appointment. This is the ONLY dentist who could successfully numb a tooth that has given me problems for years. Dr. Ned could see how anxious I was, my hands were trembling, because I was waiting for the pain. No pain!!!! Dr. Ned took his time with the multiple injections of novocaine and did some kind of massage at the injection sites that completely worked. Dr. Ned was very informative and funny the whole time. Realized my tooth cracked or something or the sort last week. I immediately called any provider still open after 5pm in my insurance network and stumbled across Skyline Smiles. I secured an appt the next day to meet with Dr. Patel. She concluded part of my large filling chipped off and recommended a crown due to size and location of the filling. I am very frightened of the dentist due to a prior experience as a child. We scheduled the crown and she was able to prescribe me something to ease my nerves. The day came, I was still super nervous and she was able to work with me on my options if I couldn't go through with the crown or needed additional nitrous. I was thankful that she was patient and flexible with what I could get done. I settled on her repairing my filling as is and will cross my fingers that it will last a few more years before having to take on the crown procedure. I was very happy that she could work with me and appreciate her quickness in repairing my filling. Dr. Ned and his crew are just fantastic. They always take care of me (and now my husband) and I always feel like I'm more than just a client. They're never trying to do extra work on me. In fact- they're begging me to floss more so I can see them less. My teeth are in good shape and they had very little to do but clean and yet they're still telling me how to come in less. Everyone in the office is so nice including the front desk staff, the hygienists and the doctors. The hygienists always do a thorough job and the doctors always spend time to explain everything in detail. Very friendly staff when I walked in. There is multiple things to chose from for drinks. All the paper work is done on a computer which is so more this century instead of paper and pen.
