I had a referral here by my dentist for a failed root canal but I waited too long to get in and apparently the referral expired. Then my failed root canal became extremely infected and I desperately tried to get in to be seen. They refused to see me without being seen again by my dentist for another referral. I told them that was a huge waste of my time and money (I have no insurance). Why would I need another referral for the same exact thing when I already had one? Plus my regular dentist was on vacation for the next 5 days so I couldn't see her even if I tried. I could not survive that long with my tooth pain. They still refused to see me. I ended up having to go to a provider in Red Bluff who saw me right away, no referral needed. read more

I'm always so terrified of any oral procedures and am currently working on getting braces so I've been having to see a lot of different people in this field. But the Doctor that did my root canal was amazing and very informative he also had me use sleep treatment dental work. Let me tell you; if you have the opportunity to use sleep dental treatment please use it! You will feel so relaxed with everything! I had a root canal done by Rylan today and I can't even begin to describe how great the experience was. I've been in horrible pain for two weeks and missed work because of it. Skyway Endodontics got me in quickly and did the root canal in an hour, all in one appointment. I already feel so much better and there was zero pain during the procedure. Great staff, great doctor! I would have given this place five stars because most of the staff was friendly and helpful and Dr. Gustafon was amazing! However, one staff member made my experience so miserable I will never return and make it my personal mission to ensure that no one else ever has to endure the harassment and discrimination that I was subjected to. A young lady by the name of Brooke was shockingly unprofessional and one of the rudest people I have ever had the misfortune of crossing paths with. She was demeaning and condescending for no apparent reason. She made me feel as though I was wasting her time and ruining her day by just being there. All answers to my questions were drenched in sarcasm and dripped with a nasty attitude. The cherry on the sundae was when she made a comment about the work ethic of another race. That just crossed the line for me and made me sick to my stomach. I have never had anybody in my life treat me so terribly, ESPECIALLY in a professional setting. $3000 for this?! Rylan did a root canal "redo" on my son. Granted we all know the risks & pain involved in this type of work. That said my son was sent home after the procedure with the advice to take Tylenol or IBUPROFEN to control the pain and inflammation. That evening the right side of his face ballooned up & the swelling continued into his jawline out to his chin & down his neck. Their office did call to check on him the following day. Now..If you have a 20 something son you may know they lack being able to advocate effectively. When they called him he was half asleep and frankly wasn't sure if what he was experiencing was to be expected. We called there office the next day in alarm at my son's condition and they did at least give him antibiotics. Fast forward to 2nd night after root canal .. we took him to Enloe ER. He saw Dr. Fraters.. who promptly prescribe Percocet. Fraters was visibly upset with my son's appearance and called the clinic "cheap sobs" . This was 4 weeks ago. Miles of pain level 10 even with the pain medication & still swollen.. My son has had two appointments with his regular dentist to check on him. They took xrays and finally concluded that Rylan's injections cause huge hematomas along the jaw line and caused nerve Pain beyond belief. The receptionist is disingenuous to say the least. Made my son feel like it was his fault for not communicating enough. Even after he called them back & they finally gave him antibiotic. They did offer him to come back in to be seen. After all he went through no thanks. He couldn't even open his mouth if he tried anyway. read more

The whole process was done in 1 hour without any kind of pain or discomfort . Dr Gustafson made always sure that i feel good . I was sort of dreading a root canal, but I sucked it up and got the referral from my dentist so that I could stop dealing with the issue I was having. Just like everyone else here, I had a great experience. It takes forever to get my face numb and the doc was super patient and made sure I was as numb as numb can be before starting the procedure. Dr. Rylan Gustafson is the most gentle oral surgeon! He numbed my mouth without any discomfort or pain. The root canal was done in a calm and timely manner. I was scheduled for a procedure on January 11th to fully treat a repeated infection in an old root canal site. I was extremely nervous driving to the appointment because of the procedure itself and COVID. Upon arriving, I was greeted by two cordial front office ladies who were following strict COVID guidelines of sanitizing between customers. I was then escorted to the inner office by Dr. Gustafson's warm and engaging assistant who immediately took my temperature and applied the necessary numbing medication. Dr. Gustafson entered the room, and because of his kind and caring attitude my apprehension and nervousness ceased immediately. Aside from Dr. Gustafson's gentle bedside manner, I found him to be superior in his handling of my procedure and a true professional in his field. I just finished a root canal on my back tooth. My dentist told me it was a difficult tooth to treat and referred me to Skyway Endo. From my first visit, the receptionist was very warm and welcoming and made me feel at ease. The whole staff was really caring and made sure I was comfortable at all times. I don't enjoy going to the dentist and I certainty wasn't looking forward to having a root canal on a "difficult tooth". The procedure ended up being completely painless and Dr Gustafson made me very relaxed and comfortable. I am glad that it's over, but I am very thankful that it was so easy and painless. I went into Skyway Endodontics new to Chico, not sure if I would need a root canal. I went in and not only is the office beautiful but the staff is amazing! I was so scared to do the cold test! My dental assistant was an angel! She did such a great job and it was not torture like the previous other cold tests that I've had done! As it looks now I don't need a root canal! My issue is a super high crown that I told my previous dentist was the issue but he wouldn't listen! Actually compared me to the princess and the pea! My pain now is virtually almost gone with some adjustments from Skyway Endodontics. I will see my new dentist in a couple weeks to get the final adjustments needed! STAY AWAY FROM CHAD GUSTAFSON!! Horrible bedside manner. Young Dr. Who thinks and acts like he is the shit. Had he more experience, he would have known I was having a negative reaction to epinephrine. The way he treated this was dangerous and unprofessional. I was set and ready for a root canal. He had numbed me and I was ok up to this point, but slowly my hands began to shake, my heart started racing my breathing became more shallow. Imagine all of this while you feel your tongue swelling, laying down flat and then.... He places a plastic seal "dam" over your mouth. I waived my hand for a break. With a very uninterested look on his face he removes it and places it back on! HELP! I waived my hand again to ask for another break, but instead he scoots his chair back and says "we're not doing this, it's not worth it" What? OK....ummm.. So I ask "so what now" he says I would need a sedative and to reschedule, still with the very "I'm too busy and important to be interested in what is happening to you right now look on his face. I got up, walked out of the office without one side look from ANYONE to check if I was ok. I got into my car, I started to cry shake and then the tongue swelling feeling came up again. I thought...oh shit I'm having an allergic reaction...? Luckily I was by my dentist office and I pulled in there and told them of my horrible experience . I really wanted to be around competent people capable calling 911 if needed. My dentist reassured me and let me stay in his office until the reaction passed.
