TRI TIP!
Chesney F.

So much fun! Right off the beach, easy parking and really nice people serving AMAZING FOOD! Everything I heard about the tri tip is true, it is the BEST. Reasonable price for a big beefy sandwich

My car being unreasonably towed

Sooo ate here and my car got towed as I was eating and only here for 20 minutes by the way. I now have to pay $250 for my car to be put down on top of some mid clam chowder. Do not come here. Also: they gave me regular instead of Diet Pepsi.

Fish and chips were bomb! Very large pieces and made fresh. Service was good and its a classic beach side vibe. If you are hitting the dubes and are hungry, hit this spot up!

Fat burritos at a fair price! The service wasn't super fast but I guess that's how you know it's fresh! Not a lot of room for dining but slaps is right next to the beach! It was the perfect burrito for my hangover!

Slap me up for some good chowder anytime I am in Pismo! If you are looking for a nice chowder spot that has easy access to the dunes and off the normal busy parts of Pismo then this is a nice spot. The street outside can get busy with recreational vehicles going in and out constantly but it also adds to for great people watching. Slappys is a great place for breakfast and/or lunch. From breakfast burritos to corn dogs to chowder. All the classics done right. Warms up the foodie soul on the nice chilly Pismo beach.

I think there are addictive properties in the clam chowder. My sister had the tri tip chili cheese fries, and said they were amazing. The kids all had ice cream and shaved ice every day that we were there. Can't wait to go back when we go to Pismo!

Came here for the first time and let me tell you, the chowder here is amazing!!!! The bread was freshly toasted and perfectly paired with the clam chowder soup! We also had their tri tip sandwich sang their tri tip burrito, I think I'll favor the burrito more because I didn't want to keep dipping. For those who don't like good touching, stick with the sandwich. The guy serving us gave us great recommendations and service! This place has the perfect location! Right before the dunes entrance! Menu is easy to read and simple to choose from. Grab some food and picnic on the beach! There's a table if you wanted to eat there but really, the beach is within walking distance. Perfect stop and great CS. Will definitely return, tomorrow!

Had breakfast there this morning. The Santa Maria burrito was the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. What a surprise!

This turned out to be very true. Half the customers seemed to know each other. Anyway, the ambiance is pretty thin. Not much to look at and all the food is served in paper or styrofoam containers. Help yourself to some plastic cutlery if needed. However, the food was very tasty. Certainly above average for a basic Mexican place. I ordered the carnitas plate and a chile relleno à la carte. I like to test Mexican restaurants by trying the chile relleno. That was the best part of the meal. Took a few minutes for my order because the relleno was obviously freshly made. Very well roasted poblano with just a little bite to it. Well breaded, fried, and sauced. Carnitas were very tasty as well. Service was a bit odd as they call your number and then stand there and ask you if you want everything on it and then slap it on top in front of you.

They are always busy but they are fast! You can eat in or get your food to go. Prices have gone up but, not as much as other restaurants. Chips are extra and honestly, they give you so much food, you won't need them. The Chile Rellenos are really good. There's a reason this place is so busy, the locals love it!!

I got the horchata and it was creamy, cinnamony and not too sweet! Order at the register and they give you a buzzer to let you know when your order is ready. The food comes out within minutes! The space has a cool, modern vibe while still feeling welcoming, and everything was spotless--it honestly looks brand new and very well maintained. It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable lingering a bit longer and enjoying your meal. The only small downside for me was that the chips and salsa were served at the same time as the main dishes. I would have preferred to have them brought out earlier as a starter, just to enjoy them before the meal arrived. Overall, it's more than just a quick bite--it's a place we'd gladly come back to for both the food and the inviting environment.

When in Pismo, eat seafood! I was craving clam chowder and a lobster roll and Ada's delivered!…read moreWell, I don't know if they actually deliver takeout, but I was glad they were open till 9:30pm on a weeknight so I could get my seafood fix after work and a workout. The bartender/server welcomed me in and seated me in the dining area. I already knew what I wanted so he put in my order as soon as I sat. The interior has a nostalgic charm, great for a date night. Executive chef and owner, Douglas MacMillan, fuses recipes from his mother, Ada Rosa's, hometown of Bonito, Italy and New England cuisine where his father is from. Although the "award winning" clam chowder didn't blow me away, it was delicious, creamy, not too salty and had clams in each spoonful. The Brussels Sprouts was one of the best I've had though. The sprouts were perfectly fried, not greasy, bacon was crispy, the dried cherries were subtle, goat cheese was evenly sprinkled on top and the balsamic reduction was well balanced. I had no problem eating the whole appetizer myself. The lobster roll came with big chunks of Maine lobster, topped with a big claw and nestled in a soft yet toasted New England roll. I asked for butter instead of it being dressed, so it was pretty plain, which was perfect for me because all I wanted to taste was the lobster with a little butter. I've had one too many lobster rolls with more mayo than I prefer. The fries it came with were also thick and fried perfectly with a light sprinkle of salt. I washed it all down with a nice glass of Chardonnay and was very satisfied with my last meal here. I would definitely come back to Ada's when in Pismo!
