Slate is essentially a piano bar physically connected to Sorellina. Nice selection of $13-$15 cocktails and you can order food from Sorellina. Attentive waitstaff and the drinks were on point. Casual vibe but can dress up in the evening.

The best dining restaurant in Traverse City. The wait staff is polite and quick to service. The wine list is extensive with options for everyone. The perfect place for an anniversary. Each dish was full of taste and flavor.

The quality and quantity was not in line with what the prices are. We had an appetizer, 2 entrees, and 4 drinks and it was around $175. Still was hungry after we left. Husband had the prime ribeye which was bland and much smaller than expected. Salmon/rice was nothing special, could've made it better at home. This place really needs to step up their game if they wish to win over the TC clientele. We will NOT be going there again, ever.

AMAZING dinner at Slate, traverse City's new steak house. Started out with the grilled octopus with potatoes and bacon jam - - WOW!!! That could have been a meal right there!! Then I had the sea scallops with roasted watermelon and polenta, Dennis had the bone in fillet which he said was the best he had ever had. Mine was delicious and absolutely the best flavor combination. Our server Andy was amazing and so personable. Pricey but well worth it for a special night out. We will be back!!

My filet was top notch, best I've had up north. For a new place we were really impressed with the food.

    What are the prices like?

Dinner entree are mostly in the $30-40 range with generous portions. Side dishes are mostly $6-7 but are more than enough for two people. We had a grilled octopus appetizer that was huge (enough for an entree) that was $15. Not something you… Read more

The Little Fleet is by far the best solution we've found for our meals downtown. There's always something for everyone and the options are ever-changing so we don't get sick of it. It's also a great place for drink later in the evening. I will always recommend this spot to those visiting the area for the first time and it's a crowd pleaser. Most recently, I got the salt and pepper squid from their year round collaborator, Crocodile Palace and I was impressed and surprised. The salt and pepper seasoning, which you can also get on chicken wings, was sour, peppery, and numbing but not truly spicy. It was a very new taste for me but I absolutely loved it!

Unfortunately, the bartender, Jason, and one of the younger staff members began harassing me and telling me I needed to leave simply because I was holding my fishing pole. I remained patient and respectfully asked him to get a manager to speak with me, especially since I used to work for one of the food trucks there and had never experienced any issues before. Despite this, the harassment continued. Later, I returned with my family, a party of 20, and while I was inside, Jason and another woman with dreadlocks began making disrespectful comments and attempting to taunt me. Their behavior was extremely immature, unprofessional, and upsetting.
